SPICE GARDEN in Wakefield

Half of my curry was in bottom of bad as lid wasn’t on properly the chat starters was darker then usual waited over an hour to be told we have a free starter and a bigger sauce the sauce was bigger but no free starter

For the first time Spice Garden let us down definitely not up to its usual standard, the delivery was nearly 25 minutes late the food was lukewarm warm/cold & they forgot to deliver the drink that was ordered which the driver had to go back for disappointed this time

Not at all happy, part of order missing. Was told half hour on collection and hubby waited almost 50minutes. Attempted to call to explain about missing items and phone just engaged constantly what a waste of money

Waited over an hour for order to be ready and another 20min after it said it is ready for collection.

Beautiful as always, complements to all the chefs and staff, would recommend to anyone.

We had two dishes…Naga Chicken & King Prawn Sizzler. The Naga was tasty but the sizzler was disappointing in that it lacked flavour & was predominantly onions. For the price I would’ve expected more from this dish.

Would be 5 stars if the restaurant wasn't late with order thank you for delivering the pop as that was forgotten but I will always order my curry from here nowhere else as even after late order time it was banging love spice garden best curry house ever

Opted to collect but still had to wait 20 mins past the confirmed collection time. Chips had been re heated and bordering on cold. One of the curries had burnt onion in it. Usually much better service than this.

Delicious food, really tasty mains, sides and breads. Delivery time updated regularly, slightly delayed as expected on NYE, well worth a slight wait, thank you!

I never received my order. I tried contacting the shop but they have turned their phones off so I can not get intouch with anyone about it

Driver didn't follow instructions to use side door an to knock loud , food was cold on arrival had to put in microwave to get to a decent temperature to eat . Highly disappointed

Never turned up. Ordered shortly after 7pm. Was told it would be with me no later than 8.55pm. At 9.10pm I asked about it. They said sorry for delay, it will be there at 9.25pm. Never came and they closed at 10pm. No answer when I rang them

Naan bread was very hard and chewy. Rest of it great thank you

Called and asked for their recommended vegan dish, Vegetable Balti. Extremely friendly and helpful Ordered with non vegan options - absolutely delicious and will definitely go for sit down soon

I’ve loved Spice Garden for years. The takeaway quality has definitely improved again! Delicious meal. Arrived early and still piping hot. I highly recommend this Indian restaurant - it’s been my personal favourite for a lot of years.

Ordered chicken tika masala, but it was more like tika soup with a few peice of chicken thrown in, when I say a few I mean a few , chicken also wasn't that nice, but the sauce was nice, but if i wanted soup , i would of ordered soup, then they forgot my chappies, but sent me poppadoms instead , Telephoned them, re missing order they sent ,( explained they sent chapattis??, no they sent poppadoms, they said will send , bit too late , curry would be cold , Peshwari nan burnt in places, never again will I order from them,

Always love our food from here. Was disappointed that they didn’t ring and “ask” our opinion for our alternative choice 🙂

amazing as always the food is always beautiful and comes warm the only fault i can give them is every time i order drinks they almost always forget to put them in although when i ring up they are quick to re solve the issue and are really polite about it understandably their busy but when its happens more then once then theirs a problem.

Ordered chicken tikka Balti masala, it comes with a free naan bread. Waited over an hour for the food, called restaurant to say naan was missing, given the option of waiting 1 hr for the naan or claiming money back from just eat. Disgusting service no compassion, I’ve not ordered from them for ages due to the fact I ordered chicken chaat before but no chaat just chicken. Never again, top price rubbish service and customer service. Not happy at all!!!!!!

The best curry house for miles. Good piping hot food and always tasty with lots of flavour, staff friendly and efficient. Great to eat on or takeaway. Never ever had a bad meal from this place. and been going several years. Recommend 5 stars plus.

I love food from here and go to the restaurant however whenever I order for delivery like last night it was only like warm and the bread for the chicken chatt was missing. How does the food go cold when I'm literally a 3 min drive away

Food is amazing however arrived more than 2 hours after it should have. Ordered on JustEast - said 45mins. As soon as order placed got notification to say delayed and would be 90 mins. Finally arrived after 2.5 hours. Wasn’t happy

Ordered from Spice Garden for many years. Food always been lovely. Ordered my food at 7.15 rang them 3 times (last one at 10.45) got told it was on the way twice. The last time I rang I just got told to get a refund from just eat with no apology. This was a £34 order aswell. I'm absolutely shocked at how unprofessional this was. Normally a good service. Definitely lost my custom.

Collection is getting worse. Last two of my orders I have had to wait 35mins for one, and over an hour for another. No good when you have family/friends waiting at home for food. Will start to look at ordering from other places. 😏

The quality of the food was absolutely shocking. It was delivered to me stone cold, definitely nothing to enjoy about it. Also to top it off I didn’t even receive my drink I ordered !

I was given 7:20pm as my collection time so I turned up at 7:15pm. I wasn't handed my order until 8:25pm. The manager spent the whole time telling all the people waiting that their orders were almost ready, so it meant I'd left my partner and our 8 month old daughter outside in the cold for an hour. The manager just accepts as many just eat orders as he can and then makes customers wait. Every single person that came in to collect was made to wait around 45 minutes to an hour. I'd left the car running to keep the heating on for my partner and daughter, so my car was sat running for over an hour. If the owner hadn't kept telling me it was almost ready I'd have left much sooner than I did. I'd heard good things about this place so feel so disappointed. Shout out to the staff that tried to help, sadly the manager seems to be making their job impossible.

I'm sure the restaraunt will be expecting this review, as they kept me waiting for an hour over my collection time for my order. I should've known there'd be an issue when the guy before me said he'd been waiting for an hour too. The staff were nice although the manager clearly only cares about money as they'd accepted far more orders than their kitchen could handle. He kept saying it'd be soon, only five more minutes etc. It meant I'd left my partner and our 8 month old baby in the cold car outside for an hour, they shouldn't be able to get away with this. Will be reporting to Just Eat and demanding a refund.

Never had a bad curry from spice garden until today! Our lass didn’t even eat hers because it just tasted like salt and mine (lamb tikka Bhuna) had exactly 0 pieces of lamb in it and tasted bland!! The best part was the chips

Really disappointed with our takeaway order on the 1st Jan. Having used the restaurant for many years, this is a real low point. Here is my detailed feedback: Poppadoms and chapattis - good. Pickle tray - poor.. The mango chutney had the consistency of water. The chicken tikka starter was OK, just a little cool. The chicken tikka masala was bright red in colour and very sweet. There was far too much sauce. My wife pretty much left it all. The chicken madras was far too hot/spicy. Don't get me wrong, I like it hot and spicy, but this was ridiculous. Also, there was too much sauce and the chicken pieces were small and dry. I was left wondering if the chef had changed?

Had headphones on listening to Top Gun Maverick, didn't hear the knocks on the door but the delivery driver persevered and made sure I got my food, top man 👍

When ordering the estimated delivery time was 35-50 minutes. Once order was placed delivery time changed to 70-85 minutes and it actually arrived after 100 minutes. Would not have placed order if accurate delivery time was quoted.

Best Indian near Upton. I've ordered a few times now and the food is always quick, piping hot and absolutely delicious! Spice Garden NEVER miss! Whether I know what I'm ordering or just order to let the Chefs do what they want, I always end up full, happy, and never regretting it!

The food took over 2 hours to turn up my address. After around one hour forty five minutes I actually went down into store to ask where my food was, the staff were polite but had no idea where my food was and told me it would get there eventually. While in store the food finally turned up at my house well over an hour late. Funnily enough my food arrived with not one but two delivery drivers, if there was two surely it should of been here quicker. When the food arrived it was freezing like it had been cooked a long time ago and I think they must of forgotten to put chicken in my food as there was a very finite amount of it present in my meal, it was mostly just sauce. Really really disappointed as I was referred by a friend to use this place. Shocking service, delivery time and the food is overpriced for the quality of it. Very unhappy customer who will not be using them ever again for food in the future. It’s a shame really because the store was really busy and people seemed to be enjoying it!

3rd time ordering and food was delicious every time

Everything was very good, the only comment was the chicken was slightly overcooked and dry.

Well get takeaway or eat in every other week so must be good. Not bad prices either. Could put a bit more meat in the curry though, I have noticed it's getting less and less, 2 + years ago was loads but now not so much. Also meat is cut up so small. But great tasty food.

Food was late and was just about warm. Naan was hard, onion bhajis were soggy and the rice was mushy. The curries themselves were great and full of flavour.

The delivery was 1 hour and 30 minutes late, when calling the restaurant they hung up the phone and when the food arrived it was cold. The taste was alright but the customer service and food quality wasn’t to standard and we will not be ordering again from here.

Had called in advance and being told 20 mins for collection if ordered online but collected order from another takeaway nearby 1st to be told my order hadn't been started yet so other order was cold upon return home. Wouldn't mind if I'd not called to check 1st.
