Stale bhaji’s, flavourless curry’s that tasted like tomato. The waiter we had was rude when we suggested another table to sit at. The red wine was the best course.

Greatly disappointed as other half had researched the local Indian restaurants and found this to be a favourite on trip advisor. After waiting an hour for our drinks and meal we were left with a greasy vegetarian masala, a dry chicken masala, 2 crispy naans and a frozen veg rice but on the positive side the wine was reasonably priced. Staff appeared to be a little stretched at times with the manager not willing to engage to resolve issues. In closing if you would like a nice Indian setting for a glass of wine then I would highly recommend unfortunately don’t try the food

We visited Mr. Pim on a Saturday afternoon. There was no one else there and it had such a cosy musicians sitting room feeling. We had a table booked for three and didn’t leave until just after half five. The music and chatter definitely made the food worth the wait. Mr. Pim was welcoming and incredibly hospitable. We had a four and five year old with us and he was very accommodating of them. The girls got to play some piano and sing with Mr. Pim and a film was popped on during lunch. If you like a chat about life over food then this is the place for you. Mr. Pim has done so much, one would think you could not fit that into a lifetime. Wisdom beyond his years in that man. Ask him about his time as a Buddhist monk. And the food. I’ve saved it to last because it was incredible. We had Chicken Satay, which I honestly would say is the best Chicken Satay I’ve had in some time. For our mains we had egg fried rice, chicken fried rice and coconut rice with a chicken Red Thai curry and a chicken Masaman. The portions were plentiful and it was all cooked fresh. The girls even had a little home made coconut ice cream too. We weren’t rushed out. It was just good food, good chatter and good vibes over music. I would definitely recommend.

The dom yam gung spicey prawn soup was delicious, packed with flavour. Lamb massamam curry was also tasty, although the lamb a little dried out. There is no cutting back on the Thai style ingredients at this restaurant.

Whenever I crave for Thai food, I'll always think of Chili Basil at City road in Cardiff. The Thai food is so delicious paired with very reasonable price, great service and friendly staff. What else can a satisfied customer ask for ?

We come almost every weekend, the food is delicious and reasonably priced too. Tastes just like the food you have when in Thailand.
