Southminster Fish Bar in Maldon

I went to Southminster fish bar tonight for a cod and chips for me and the Mrs. I ask if it could be cooked fresh. When I got home what a load of rubbish. The chips were dry and disgusting and the fish was terrible. We won’t be eating from the southminster fish bar again. Disgusting

fish was nice but chips were warmed up from day before, not nice but birds ate them , will not spend good money there again

Food ok, basic chippy food, would not rush back if I am honest. Fish and chips ok, chips way too salty, but cuzza sauce was nice

Second time we have used this place this week , first time chips were very poor been back today and even worse looks like they have been reheated or old oil ? i have used this place for some time now its had its ups and downs, but been very poor the last few visits wont be going back ,will have to use burnham instead such a shame get your chips sorted .

This is a proper chip shop serving real food. At £1.80 for a portion of chips, prices are very competitive.

I come here most Saturdays always have cod and chips or some times a pucka pie and chips both really nice and the onion rings and curry sauce is good too old school chippy like stepping back in time but in a good way never had a bad meal from here

This evening against my better judgement (and to my wifes annoyance) I decided to shop locally for fish and chips... we live in southminster but had not heard great things about the local chippy, usually travelling instead to Burnham to get our fish and chips from the excellent Sauda village. Whilst the food was not terrible the portion sizes were abismal! The picture attached is what they gave us as a large :( surfice to say we will not be returning.

Fish cooked fresh to order batter not to heavy fish tasty and good size portions.good value for money will go back to get takeaway again

Ok unless you are served by the older lady. Incredible slow, others serve three or four in the same time!

This is an average chippy servicing locals. We haven't had any reason to complain and would still revisit.

Old fashion chippy only one in the village the pies are very expensive but the fish is lovely so are the chips

Visit most Fridays alway's good. Curry sauce sausages fish and chips that's what we like . Best chippie on the Dengie

Have been going to this fish and chip shop for over 20 years. Same owner. Consistently delicious. Usually just have cod and chips. Excellent service from the owner.

A menudo recogida almuerzo aquí para mi esposa y yo, cuando estoy trabajando desde casa. Martes almuerzo es reducido precio de bacalao y patatas fritas, así es una ganga. Creo que este es uno de los mejores ya que el bacalao siempre es buena y grasiento, y las patatas fritas son tan les recuerdo como un niño. Si estás de visita en el área de una obligación.

Recogimos y patatas fritas de pescado hoy aquí, el bacalao y rock eran todos muy buenos, la única decepción fue el skate en la fina lado así que no hay mucho pescado! Las patatas fritas eran muy bien, todos los artículos a pesar de estar muy frito no sabía nada en todo grasos o grasienta. Cuando esté en la zona, volveremos.

Pescado era patatas secas se ha mantenido demasiado tiempo y eran suaves y "duro". Orden estaba envuelto en primera a la izquierda y luego guisantes mostrador ponen en microondas por lo tanto calor cuando empezamos a comer y piedra fría en el momento en que era mitad!' no aconsejan una visita

Hemos usado el Southminster pescado bar muchas veces en los últimos años y pensamos que debería ser mencionado en Tripadvisor. La calidad de la comida es estupenda y una noche de sábado en especial se puede esperar una cola grande en la puerta. Última noche tuvimos Cod, patatas fritas, guisantes blandos y - Classic de salsa de currry British! El pescado estaba recién frita, suculentos y deliciosa. El chef es un tío muy simpático chino que aunque muy ocupado siempre encuentra tiempo para decir hola, agradable ver que otra vez.Bien hecho el Southminster pescado Bar!
