Exceptional food. Fresh food packed full of vegetables, which is exactly what a veggie wants to see from a restaurant. This is wholesome food. This has opened Chinese food up to me again. Well done team. Well. Done.

Best vegan place!! We had the gyoza, satay tofu, and Soul’s special deep fried tofu. All were flavorful and delicious! I would reorder everything we had and try everything else! We were lucky and got a walk in spot, but I’d recommend making a reservation. We’ve called again to make a reservation and they are often full for the night.

Deliciousness! My non vegan partner loved it as well! Would certainly like to come back.

Amazing Asian inspired, vegan food!

It’s insanely good food! It doesn’t taste like vegan food at all. Their laksa was to die for. I would highly recommend this place to anyone and would definitely come back another time!

As someone who has never been to a vegan restaurant, the food was fantastic and a complete surprise. The staff were very accommodating and friendly, I don't often travel to Edinburgh but I would go out of my way to come back here.

As a lifelong vegetarian, it is beyond wonderful to be able to order anything on the menu, knowing that it's vegan. Everything I ordered was really nice, though the sauces were a bit too sweet for me. I love lotus, and was thrilled to find them on the menu. The laksa was nicely spiced, and as I love mushrooms, it was brilliant to find them in several different forms. The archar was unusual and refreshing. Portions were generous, and nicely presented. I'll be back! I've now ordered from Soul Vegan several more times, and I'm more impressed each time I order. I try one or two new things with each order, and I have found the hot + sour and the Tom Yum soups to be excellent - I love Tom Yum soup, and Soul Vegan's version is my favourite ever. And the fried noodles are wonderful: nice smoky flavour, good textures, and not claggy, the way noodles can be. Really lovely food, prepared by someone who really cares.

One of the best restaurants in Edinburgh. Food is so incredibly tasty and well priced. Service is very quick and great - we had a lovely girl with a fringe who served us and she was SO nice!! Would recommend as a MUST when in Edinburgh!!

Terrific vegan food - the Ma Po Tofu had just the perfect blend of Szechuan pepper. Loved it. Great background music also.

Excellent Laksa, noodles and atmosphere.

Soul has lost its SOUL. We loved this place and frequently visited it. I fear there's been a change in management, even different chefs. The menu has changed, and so has the taste, doubt if it's even vegan as it used to be. We really didn't enjoy as much as we used to. Over and above that, they add compulsory service charge, even with a slow service. We had to clear our own table, very unfortunate that it's changed to this extent. Will probably not go again.

Soul Vegan is a great spot in Edinburgh for delicious vegan food. The restaurant has a relaxed and friendly atmosphere, and the staff are all incredibly helpful. I started with the corn ribs, which were very tasty. For my main course, I had the vegan roast duck and roast pork, which were both absolutely delicious! The duck was particularly impressive. 10/10, we will be back!

Really impressive food, can’t speak to EVERYTHING because I only had the the Laksa and Banana Fritters but those were both incredibly tasty. You must go if you’re vegan in Edinburgh! Small place though, tight seating for whoever that’s important for.

Soul Vegan is my go-to spot for an evening meal with friends. The laksa is a must try! If you are with a group, I also would definitely recommend the pancakes with crispy tofu. The staff here are lovely. If you're in Edinburgh for a short stay, don't miss this restaurant. If you're a local, why not become a regular?

A hidden gem in Edinburgh! This was some of my favourite food I had during my stay. Service was also so fast.

We had the Laksa Noodles and the Katsu Curry. The food was excellent, 10/10!! Super tasty and the service was lovely.

When you walk in, you are caught with the tasty smell of the food. It was one of my favourite place in my visit to Edinburgh. Good service and price.

Wow, what a delight for the taste buds and soul. My partner and I enjoyed four absolutely mouth wateringly delicious and nutritious items from a menu that spoilt us for choice. I’m gluten free as well as vegan and was even more overjoyed to see an extensive offering of tempting plates. The staff were super friendly and the atmosphere was calming and welcoming. I live on the south coast of England and the enjoyment factor was so high that eating here again would be a strong force in returning to Edinburgh!

Brilliant food. We had the Satay Tofu and Char Sui Bao Bun to start which were both lovely. But the two mains, the Laksa and the Katsu Curry really blew it out of the water, both were absolutely delicious. Very filling portion sizes and attentive staff. Definitely a new favourite ❤️

Went twice in one week and introduced friends to this absolutely fantastic restaurant. Food is excellent. Super tasty and nicely presented. GF options available. Nothing better that eating food you know is completely animal free! Staff friendly and polite. Casual atmosphere. I’m looking forward to my next visit.

I can't share much about the atmosphere because I gotvthere just before 3pm when they were closing for a 2 hour break. I ordered the satay tofu and Singapore noodles to go. They were delicious!!!

Very good food, and plenty of it, so you can't leave hungry. The meat substitutes themselves were crispy on the outside and soft on the inside. They resembled meat on average, but were tasty on their own. The decor was also nice, the only problem I had was that the place was very small and cramped

Food was good but overpriced IMO. These dishes are very simple and cheap to produce. No reason you should have to take a loan from the bank just to eat some plants The tables by the door receive a large draft, recommend bringing a sweater if you are sitting near the door. Side rice was very expensive and small

Went here for the first time tonight and it was fantastic! I had the soul tofu with a side of rice and it was delicious. The service was great as well. Will definitely come back next time I’m in the city :)

This place was popping! We had to wait outside for a table, but not too long - maybe 10 minutes. It's a bit crowded inside, however the food more than makes up for it. Delicious vegan food and so many options! The best part was the chocolate ice cream and fried sweet potato balls for dessert.

Personally, I found the food to be bland, however, the texture and presentation was all good. My kids loved the food. The restaurant has a special menu for food with "no onion no garlic".

D E L I C I O U S It was my first time in Edinburgh, and I decided to have dinner here twice. Simply the best vegan food I've ever had. The staff is very nice—you might have to wait in line outside, but they quickly help you get seated when spots open up. I highly recommend the mapo tofu and crispy mushrooms!

The food was delicious and the service was friendly. We had fried wontons, pineapple fried rice served in a pineapple, and the fried sweet potato and ice cream. Everything looked and tasted great. I’ll definitely eat here again as a vegan in Edinburgh.

Even if you are not vegan, you will like it. My partner and I were eating and we really liked it, they have some delicious spicy dishes and very good vegan desserts. The service is very kind and friendly.

Soul Vegan is by far THE best vegan restaurant I have ever been to!!! The sweet and sour lions mane is heavenly!! I am so impressed by the flavor and texture of the mushroom! I’ve also had the tom yum soup and the gan lau mee noodles and the green tea matcha ice cream! I am such a fan of green tea matcha ice cream and it’s so hard to find as a vegan and it was DIVINE!!! All the dishes are amazing here, you have to check it out!!! And the service is so fast and the people are SO friendly!! By far the best customer service too!!! ✨💛

The food was spectacular & the staff was very friendly & fast. We didn’t have reservations and the place was completely full but they still managed to squeeze us in after only ten minutes of waiting.

However, the lady super kindly informed everyone about upcoming free spaces and possible waiting times + completely delicious fresh made food with exquisite spicing! + Our request about modifying one meal was perfectly executed + very nice team atmosphere among the waiters and staff + we will love to come back! + So great to see how amazing and tasty vegan food can be. After being in line for a few minutes the waitress led us to our table, they were super friendly and made us feel very welcome. The food was absolutely delicious, we could tell everything was freshly cooked. Definitely try the fried bananas with matcha-ice cream, it might have been the best I’ve ever eaten. It’s worth the wait!

First time. Because of the festival no table booking available so we spent a good 40 minutes outside waiting. Inside it was cramped and everything felt squeezed and rushed. They left the door open and a horrible draft came in so people near the entrance were sitting with hats and jackets. The food was very tasty but we felt rushed throughout the whole time. Waiters came three times to take our plates when we hadnt even finished eating. As soon as they took the plates away they asked if we wanted anything else and if not they would bring the bill. Our drinks were still half full. I understand that businesses want to make money, but please let people sit a little bit to enjoy the experience. We were done within 40 minutes...its not too much to ask for a bit less pressure.

I had a vegan noodle sometime. Disgusting. The curry broth/sauce seems pre-made. And everything in there was starch

I am not vegan but I HIGHLY recommend this place to anyone who enjoys Malaysian food as it is one of the best Malaysian restaurants in town (I wouldn't say it's authentic Malaysian-bc no meat but definitely worth it for Malaysian flavours with a vegan twist)! Their lotus root chips and the curry laksa were incredible. The service was great, the staff were very attentive and helpful! The only thing I would say is the restaurant was a little dark on the inside (we were there around lunchtime). I can't wait to be back though and try more of their food!

Soul vegan is truly an earthly paradise. Unmissable place in Edinburgh, veg or not, a must try!!! I had lunch here twice, there was a big queue for dinner. Very kind staff, super welcoming environment, quick service, nice music playlist, dream food is to say the least: you could experience Stendhal syndrome, seriously. It's a culinary experience! 🙏

Cannot recommend this restaurant enough! It is suitable for those who are vegetarian, vegan, gluten-free, and has the power to impress those who eat meat and dairy. We started with an order of tofu satay. I had a serving of Edinburgh Gin with a lime on some ice, which was lovely. For the main dishes, we had the green curry, the Singapore rice noodles, and laksa noodles. All were amazing with complex flavors. The laksa is probably the most different and rare meal we've had in a while, so recommend trying this dish if you don't normally have access to laksa dishes. We finished with the fried sweet potato balls and matcha ice cream--very creative and tasty and was a good mix of sweet and salty for a dessert. The restaurant was packed, and the service was still amazing. Our servers were attentive without being overbearing, were happy to share their suggestions, and knowledgeable about all the options for dietary restrictions. Certainly recommend this restaurant and will visit again if I'm back in Edinburgh.

Soul vegan is the best best best vegan restaurant I've ever been in my life! Even non-vegan was surprised 🫨 Vegan duck was unbelievable and laksa noodle was just amazing! (+fried spring roll, ice cream etc) If I were rich I would make this restaurant everywhere and let people know how good vegan foods can be.💚

We went for a meal with friends that came over for from London and the waitress sat us opposite the entrance with the door wide open and the wind coming through. We asked twice to get the door closed but their reponse wasn't particularly positive. They claimed having to serve people outside for having it open. We had to squeeze into one table and eat as quickly as we could to leave. Food got cold and felt upsetting. I have been here often and this is the first time I didn't feel welcomed.

I'm not even vegan or vegetarian and I love this place. Am very much in love with their Rendang. Service is quite fast too.

Super tasty, very friendly service, asked about allergies. Outside you sit right on the street, but inside it's nice and cozy.

The food is stellar. I'm not a vegan, I just dabble. The staff is very attentive. I have my complaints. They charge for things that other restaurants just provide, like plain white rice. They've allowed themselves to get caught up in a sneaky price game common enough in the UK. If the dish should come with rice and you want to charge nearly twenty pounds for the dish then don't pretend you're doing any one a favor by offering the main without rice. You feel that you're throwing away too much, then just bring less rice more often. It's a bad look, I'm not a fan of this trend. At least they have staff and it isn't fast-casual.

Was very busy when we arrived but even though a que was there we still got seated in about 10 minutes. Very welcoming and friendly staff. The food is honestly mind blowing especially the two BBQ rice. I've been to many vegan restaurants and this one is up there with the best!

Lovely atmosphere and scrumptious dishes, as a vegan it's lovely to be able to pick anything 🙌🏼🥰 the king oysters curry was amazing and dumplings really nice too. My partner loved the Guinness ribs. I went back a second time and tried their laksa: now my favourite from the menu!

Everything is very delicious, but they don't warn about everything that is spicy (in theory it is warned on the menu, but there was spicy in dishes that supposedly weren't)

Was absolutely packed and could hardly hear myself think but the laksa noodles where incomparable to any other noodles I have ever ate ( and you can believe I have ate a LOT of noodles ). I truly don't expect to have a comparable noodle dining experience in the UK again. Make sure to book as seating is very limited given their deserved popularity!

Fantastic experience here. Staff were very accommodating and knew the menu well. The food was incredible, starting with the Corn Soup, to the Rendang Lion's Mane Mushroom, the Monks Mixed Vegetables and the special (Nasi Lemak), which was a potato curry, bean curd curry, crispy bean curd and coconut rice (skip the rice). The dishes were flavorful and the atmosphere inside and outside was boutique. Pandan Pancakes were phenomenal. A little smokey inside but otherwise, the experience was fantastic.

Had such a delicious meal here, I wasn’t sure what to have (it all looked AMAZING) so I went for the crispy lotus and then fried tofu. SO GOOD, staff were lovely and just a fabulous experience
