Amazing grub and cosy space. Attentive service as well. Been looking for good Asian food around Edinburgh and this one reminds me of home. Really recommend the satay (peanut sauce is amazing) and the Laksa, pictured. Super tasty!! Will be back to work my way through the menu ❤️

Visited Soul Vegan after its great reviews for vegetarian food - did not disappoint. Super fast service, so lovely to have a full menu we could order from. Lovely vibe too. If we were local to Edinburgh - would definitely go back!

Six of us ate here after it was recommended by a friend. The food was absolutely delicious. We shared our dishes and I managed to taste all of the starters and 5 of the mains we ordered. All were fabulous and I would have been happy to order any one of them if I was eating solo. It was all fresh and beautifully flavoured and seasoned. We couldn't fault any of the dishes. I am not a lover of sweet and sour sauce but the Lion's Mane mushroom in sweet and sour sauce was amazing. The welcome was warm and very friendly as was the service. We will be back. This was my first visit to an exclusively vegan restaurant so this visit had a curiosity factor to it. I am so glad I was curious.

Excellent food and a broad menu. The flavours were great, the service friendly and efficient, and the atmosphere was very cosy.

As a family of 5 we all chose different dishes and tasted each others food. The diversity of flavours and textures was remarkable and I think we need to go back to try a bit more! I love the fact that Soul has a specials board so they keep inventing and making more great dishes. Also there is a modest drinks menu with beer, wine, etc as well as soft drinks.

Small but nice restaurant with a rich vegan menu. Delicious food from the dishes that are served as beautifully as the photos from Google Review show. The only downside: the different courses are served directly one after the other.

Excellent! We were seated promptly during a full house and all the staff were attentive and Friendly. The food was exceptional and it was difficult to choose what to order! This was my 2nd time at Soul and I look forward to dining again.

Food is amazing taste, so yummy 😋 . Especially laksa Noodle is star dish in the restaurant. I didn’t feel heavy tummy like I eat other kind of food 😅. I really like it and definitely come back. Highly recommend to try !! 👍

Absolutely fantastic meal here last night! Friendly and attentive service - with beyond fabulous food! We got wontons, satay skewers and the nasi lemak and honestly i so wish we could’ve tried the whole menu. The satay was my favourite, scrumptious and moreish, and the nasi lemak was generously portioned, with plenty of yummy elements and nice flavours. I will definitely be back soon, the menu is plentiful and varied, with so many delicious options, this place is easily any vegan / vegetarian’s dream!!

Good food. The lion's mane satay was amazing. We are comparing the food to vegan food we would have in Malaysia, so some dishes were a bit lacklustre. Service was attentive considering how busy it was but not intrusive. Good vibe.

Friendly, easy, quick service - but never in a rush. Super tasty food with a specials board. A small intimate space, good for romantics and friend catch ups. Highly recommend booking in advance, or order from delivery services if fully booked - but do order! 👍😃

The weather and season are perfect for mulled wine 🥰. I had a great experience trying their new dishes. The vegan-style Tom Yum rich noodles are super yummy, and I couldn’t help but finish the soup. I loved the satay mushroom stew and the maki roll. I hope they will add these new dishes to the menu in the future. Also, the salt and pepper lotus and crispy mixed mushrooms are a must for starters. They’re perfect for sharing with friends while chatting. I love this vegan restaurant; it’s the best one in town 🥰. I will miss it after I’m gone.

We chose Vegan Soul as a family of six vegans for my grandsons graduation dinner. The food was delicious, very generous portions and the staff and atmosphere were absolutely lovely. So glad we chose to celebrate there and we will definitely be back in the future.😊

I have been visiting for several years at this point. Arguably the best Malaysian food in Edinburgh. Never thought vegan Malaysian food could work, but as it turns out, it is absolutely spectacular. Would highly recommend anyone to try. Just a heads-up, the place is fairly popular, especially during summer and Fringe season, so you definitely need to book in advance.

Best vegan place!! We had the gyoza, satay tofu, and Soul’s special deep fried tofu. All were flavorful and delicious! I would reorder everything we had and try everything else! We were lucky and got a walk in spot, but I’d recommend making a reservation. We’ve called again to make a reservation and they are often full for the night.

It’s insanely good food! It doesn’t taste like vegan food at all. Their laksa was to die for. I would highly recommend this place to anyone and would definitely come back another time!

As someone who has never been to a vegan restaurant, the food was fantastic and a complete surprise. The staff were very accommodating and friendly, I don't often travel to Edinburgh but I would go out of my way to come back here.

As a lifelong vegetarian, it is beyond wonderful to be able to order anything on the menu, knowing that it's vegan. Everything I ordered was really nice, though the sauces were a bit too sweet for me. I love lotus, and was thrilled to find them on the menu. The laksa was nicely spiced, and as I love mushrooms, it was brilliant to find them in several different forms. The archar was unusual and refreshing. Portions were generous, and nicely presented. I'll be back! I've now ordered from Soul Vegan several more times, and I'm more impressed each time I order. I try one or two new things with each order, and I have found the hot + sour and the Tom Yum soups to be excellent - I love Tom Yum soup, and Soul Vegan's version is my favourite ever. And the fried noodles are wonderful: nice smoky flavour, good textures, and not claggy, the way noodles can be. Really lovely food, prepared by someone who really cares.

One of the best restaurants in Edinburgh. Food is so incredibly tasty and well priced. Service is very quick and great - we had a lovely girl with a fringe who served us and she was SO nice!! Would recommend as a MUST when in Edinburgh!!

Soul has lost its SOUL. We loved this place and frequently visited it. I fear there's been a change in management, even different chefs. The menu has changed, and so has the taste, doubt if it's even vegan as it used to be. We really didn't enjoy as much as we used to. Over and above that, they add compulsory service charge, even with a slow service. We had to clear our own table, very unfortunate that it's changed to this extent. Will probably not go again.

Soul Vegan is a great spot in Edinburgh for delicious vegan food. The restaurant has a relaxed and friendly atmosphere, and the staff are all incredibly helpful. I started with the corn ribs, which were very tasty. For my main course, I had the vegan roast duck and roast pork, which were both absolutely delicious! The duck was particularly impressive. 10/10, we will be back!

Really impressive food, can’t speak to EVERYTHING because I only had the the Laksa and Banana Fritters but those were both incredibly tasty. You must go if you’re vegan in Edinburgh! Small place though, tight seating for whoever that’s important for.

Soul Vegan is my go-to spot for an evening meal with friends. The laksa is a must try! If you are with a group, I also would definitely recommend the pancakes with crispy tofu. The staff here are lovely. If you're in Edinburgh for a short stay, don't miss this restaurant. If you're a local, why not become a regular?

Wow, what a delight for the taste buds and soul. My partner and I enjoyed four absolutely mouth wateringly delicious and nutritious items from a menu that spoilt us for choice. I’m gluten free as well as vegan and was even more overjoyed to see an extensive offering of tempting plates. The staff were super friendly and the atmosphere was calming and welcoming. I live on the south coast of England and the enjoyment factor was so high that eating here again would be a strong force in returning to Edinburgh!

Brilliant food. We had the Satay Tofu and Char Sui Bao Bun to start which were both lovely. But the two mains, the Laksa and the Katsu Curry really blew it out of the water, both were absolutely delicious. Very filling portion sizes and attentive staff. Definitely a new favourite ❤️

I can't share much about the atmosphere because I gotvthere just before 3pm when they were closing for a 2 hour break. I ordered the satay tofu and Singapore noodles to go. They were delicious!!!

Very good food, and plenty of it, so you can't leave hungry. The meat substitutes themselves were crispy on the outside and soft on the inside. They resembled meat on average, but were tasty on their own. The decor was also nice, the only problem I had was that the place was very small and cramped

Food was good but overpriced IMO. These dishes are very simple and cheap to produce. No reason you should have to take a loan from the bank just to eat some plants The tables by the door receive a large draft, recommend bringing a sweater if you are sitting near the door. Side rice was very expensive and small

Went here for the first time tonight and it was fantastic! I had the soul tofu with a side of rice and it was delicious. The service was great as well. Will definitely come back next time I’m in the city :)

This place was popping! We had to wait outside for a table, but not too long - maybe 10 minutes. It's a bit crowded inside, however the food more than makes up for it. Delicious vegan food and so many options! The best part was the chocolate ice cream and fried sweet potato balls for dessert.

Personally, I found the food to be bland, however, the texture and presentation was all good. My kids loved the food. The restaurant has a special menu for food with "no onion no garlic".

Absolutely amazing food! The staff are lovely too and the prices are reasonable. I recommend everyone to visit! We had the aromatic pancakes, nasi lemak and deep fried tofu. All three were delicious!
