Second time visiting for a takeaway after moving to the area. The liver starter was really nice, great flavour, cooked well. The breads were also very good (chapati and. Naan) however, the lamb korma was awful. Absolutely no flavour other than cream. I know korma is a light sauce but this was ridiculous! The other concern is this is the second time I have ordered korma from here and both times it's been totally different which makes me question allergen awareness and consistency. If somethings different every time how are you making sure no allergens get into the dish and how can people come and have a consistent experience?

Ordered a chicken tikka korma but recieved a chicken korma. It was ok but I would have enjoyed what I ordered more. We also ordered a chicken tikka masala which was lovely. Just eat said estimated delivery would be 15-30mins but after ordering the estimated delivery jumped to over an hour.

What an amazing sent I could smell as soon as I opened the Tin foil lined Container. The chicken was so tender and the chips crunchy but not too crunchy. First time ordering from Solos even though I have worked around skelmanthorpe for so long will 100% be back

Curries nice n spicy, good quality meat, but a little bland, tikka starter n nan were very nice. Delivery driver was really nice.

My order4 has not yet arrived....we are 20 mins after the the end of the window! This is poor!. Ended up being 45 mins late. Not at all sure I will use this service again.

Food was OK. Not sure I'd rush back I've had a lot better. You can tell its restaurant standard but not worth the money imo

Food was good! —————— TLDR: food left on doorstep of neighbour. Don’t bother complaining - the guy on the phone lies and shouts at you. —————— Just a shame that my food was left on my neighbours door step as they didn’t answer. I asked the delivery driver if it was my food as I’d seen the car outside, he was certain it was for my neighbour and was about to drive off. So I asked him to double check and realising his error he went to retrieve my food. I thought I’d call the restaurant to check that if leaving food on a doorstep was usual practice and hoping it wasn’t that they might explain to the driver that leaving food outside was bad practice. Well, that’s where I was wrong! What I got were lies, abuse and some strange discourse on how the feelings of the chap on the phone were hurt… I explained to him that I didn’t care about his feelings and even that I didn’t care about him not caring about my feelings as I think that is totally irrelevant to leaving an order on a doorstep. I gave up on the call as the guy really can’t take criticism and was getting overly irate. I hope the owner of this business, I believe his name is Mo, gets a handle on this guy before he destroys the great reputation Solos has built up over years. It seems like any bad reviews are met with hostility at the moment so I’m not expecting much. I hope you manage to resolve your employee’s terrible attitude but I’m afraid that I may never know as I certainly won’t be ordering from you again unless you can find the humility to apologise and reassure me that it isn’t your companies policy to leave orders on the doorstep of the wrong address.

Although it was late, it was certainly worth the wait, food was delicious.

worst order we’ve ever placed! It took 2 hours for food to arrive .. and it didn’t even all arrive!! Rang the restaurant to have the phone put down on me, which I had to then ring back.

Orders set menu for 3 for 2 kormas and when tasted I was nearly sick had the most strangest taste was foul something was not right at all .

Delivery was quick and driver was really nice. Unfortunately, food arrived and was really disappointing. None of the food tasted like it normally did. Tasted like there was no seasoning - just a mix of ingredients. Even a mix of ingredients tasted awful. Korma tasted like orange cream. No hints of coconut or anything like it normally would. Overall, it was very disappointing and won’t be ordering from here again.

We had a fantastic meal. Mine was vegan and it was the best curry around the area. Lovely service and being a bring your own it was really well priced for fresh tasty food

always perfect food, 15 minutes late not a massive issue, however it does seem to happen most times.

I was surprised and disappointed to find that just 2 mains and 2 pilau rices came to over £30!! It was even more annoying when I found that, after ordering the 'new' Duvster main of King prawns and chicken, the whole dish contained just 3 small prawns. Very expensive for very mediocre food that doesn't do Solo's reputation any good. I will think hard before ordering from there again.

Company Christmas meal here, food was fantastic, very reasonably prices, you have to take your own booze. Only gripe would have been getting pre-warned it is a cash only place, especially when you're paying for all 12 people, would have saved me running about trying to find a cash machine whilst it was lagging it down and everyone else was enjoying the beer. That said once sorted a great place and atmosphere 👍

Disappointed is an understatement - we have now been left hungry and confused as this establishment struggles to let you know a butter chicken is not available and then provides you with an oily, dark red and spicy alternative. Food was cold and the chips looked like it was cooked in a heated argument. The butter wasn’t even melted on the naan bread.

Food was lovely. Staff friendly and attentive. Can't fault it, especially for the money.

Solos has been a part of Skelmanthorpe since forever, and deserves its place on the main road. Me and my family have been ordering from here for over 2 decades either at the restaurant, over the phone or on JustEat. Everytime we have ordered it has been perfect in taste and spice level. The restaurant itself is beautiful in appearance and amazing in atmosphere. You do have to bring your own drinks and it is cash only. The service is impeccable.

Lovely food. Unfortunately this order was a bit late (which we didn’t really mind as it still arrived before 7pm) but it was cold.

servers were lovely and couldn’t do enough for you. food was really good. but be warned they do not take card and by the time we had all finished eating and got the bill, all the shops with cash machines near were closed but one. thankfully, not everyone in our party was drinking so we were able to drive to a cash point. there is a notice saying cash only but so tiny you wouldn’t notice (there were 7 of us and not 1 of us saw it) that being said, we’d go back as we had a lovely evening. we’d just bring cash next time!!

One curry was tasteless and watery, prawns overcooked and rubbery, the other curry almost as bad. Onion bhajis were flat and I wouldn't describe them as bhajis. Never again.

**Takeaway order only - didn’t use restaurant but won’t let you leave review without adding stars** Solos usually gets 6 stars from us, however, the food not up to the usual standard today. Went to collect order a little after the collection time, but still it wasn’t ready, so ended up waiting another 15 minutes.. We live literally two minutes walk away and served food immediately:- Mixed veggie starter - half of the items were only just about ‘tepid/warm’, the other half very hot !? Chips were cold, pale and soggy.. Curry again was only just ‘tepid/warm’ and a little tasteless. Chapattis also ‘warm’ - Had to reheat the whole lot, despite it just being freshly made !? Not sure what happened tonight, but a little disappointed tbh, Solos is usually outstanding !? 🤷🏼‍♀️

On arrival we were not greeted , just pointed to table. Service was diabolical the food not good.I have lived in this village for 40 years and frequented Solos before but not any more

For the first time ever the order was incorrect- vegetable pilau rice without the veg and cheesy masala chips without the cheese. But like I say- it’s the first time and if I’d have rung the restaurant they would have brought replacements I am sure

Have ordered from here before but never again! The food was so bad we couldn’t even eat it. No option to give zero stars! A white gluey film on top of the curry… the peshwari nan was indescribable. Sorry Solo, I don’t know what’s happened but… will take a lot for us to order from you again.

Lovely food. But it is always over spiced. That’s ok if you know that though as you can order accordingly. The Chicken Handi was well made and delicious, spicier than suggested on the menu but that’s standard for Solo. Naans appear to have improved. Ordered a lovely Keema naan and it was spot on! My wife had a Biriyani and that too was very nice but over spiced. I suspect if I ever ordered a Vindaloo from Solo’s he might have to deliver it in a Hazmat suit!

The food took 25 minutes to arrive after the app told us that it’s “on it’s way” (less than 2 miles) and out for delivery…. So it was no surprise that the mains were luke-warm when they arrived and the sides completely cold. HOWEVER - the food tasted delicious and it is probably one of the best Indians we have had so a massive 5 stars for the food. A shame it wasn’t hot. We would definitely order from here again but collect it ourselves, or eat in at the restaurant as the food really is fantastic.

Perfect delivery time , not much sauce in chicken tikka masala - 1 small broken popadom for 80p mango chutney tastes of Jam and very just average won’t be ordering again , delivery man stated he called my mobile but nothing was received a very rude delivery

The last two times I have ordered from solos it has been cold by the time it has been delivered. It is a shame as I do like their food
