Worth the 3 hour drive from Kent! Small plates..actually not that small. Cauliflower beignets are to die for. Burrata, lamb curry, crispy chicken and hake. And dog friendly for lunch.

Given lockdown this was our first visit to Socius for some time & it was so good to be back. We love the style of cooking & presentation here.We started with a couple of cocktails - quite unusual for us but both were quite delicious (Maple Perkins - named after one of the staff who served us - and Limoncello and Rosemary spritz)Their focaccia is excellent and it was great to get stuck into the chilli king prawns and crispy beef whilst we decided on our plates. We’ve never had a bad dish here in quite a few visit but the stand-outs this time were Binham Blue with poached pear, the house cured salmon, and the arancini.Good and varied wine list too and our white Côte du Rhône was a really good choice with such a variety of dishes.Given this was so recently after the restaurant was aloud to reopen, every thing was perfectly well organised and marshalled by Natalie and her excellent staff.Great evening.

The Neptune

15/08/2020: Had the tasting menu which was very seasonal and delicious. The service was excellent and very friendly. Cant recommended this little gem enough. Superb!
02/08/2020: What a lovely little restaurant this is. With only 18 covers it has an intimate feel and the staff can be attentive to everyone equally. Quality is of a high standard. Family run, with clearly a very good chef. Because of the size and popularity you’ll need to book, but a bit of planning never hurt anyone. Our Sunday lunch was excellent from start to finish.
