We visited as a group of fiends and couples for some drinks and socialisation. Ironic with the name. The location is create with a good range of beers and food venues. The atmosphere is chilled but up beat. The highlight was the vocation beers 100%,

Nice place nice environment but food served with no proper cutlery. I ordered Bombay Frankie the thick roti I could not cut with the wooden fork ended up eating with hand spoilt my nails with stain of turmeric. All said not again society for food.

Called in at lunchtime mid week, with friends. Four of us - it wasn’t busy. Food order was quickly delivered and quite tasty. I understand the idea of serving the food on disposable plates with disposable knifes and forks, but it does let the quality of the food down. Has anyone tried eating a pizza with a flimsy wooden knife and fork? A real challenge. Beers were excellent. Some superb British craft beers.

We visited last night for my son’s 20th birthday. We reserved an area which was great, and ordered pizza and burgers for the group with no issues. The younger set left to go on at 10.30 which left four 40 somethings alone to have a quiet drink, but we were refused! It was explained to us that as we had been part of the larger group at some point, and they had had too much, we could not be served? I have never heard of this before? The barman was also quite rude when he was explaining this. Needless to say, we moved on for one last drink and then went home!

Society is ok but I wouldn't rush to go back. I'm sure it's great if you want the beer but it has very little atmosphere and the staff, while not precisely rude were not engaged or interested in what they were doing. I have a theory, as it is one of those places where you place your order digitally and then the drinks are delivered there are few opportunities for interaction. We pointed out that our table was dirty and the staff member gave us a cloth so that we could wipe it down ourselves. This was not done rudely as she clearly thought that this was OK. Very poor staff training and customer service. One of the food outlets is Chaat Cart so the food was excellent but a very limited choice and nothing great like their bhel puris and it all felt a little bit lazy and designed to extract maximum £'s for limited output. Not for us and I won't go again. It felt a bit like the dining hall of a run down holiday camp I was taken to as a child, and I didn't like that either.

Visited last week for a work trip. Great selection of foods, so different work colleagues as you know everyone wants something different. Slightly marred when half way through my pint, rather large chip in the glass rim. Showed the barman, and just mumbled something, i assume an apology. And poured the rest of the pint into another glass. Without checking if the chip - may have been in the bottom of the glass. Wasn't trying to get a new pint, but a simply 'we're sorry, and a fresh HALF pint' to avoid any glass bits contamination would have been nice. Other than that, nice place, good beer selection, good food. .

This place is fantastic great variety of delicious food and fantastic craft beer I found this place after visiting another food hub close by that wasn’t even on the same level as society everything was delicious and the staff were fantastic

Food was ok, spring rolls had nothing inside, and the chaat cart was open but not taking orders which was disappointing.

Delicious street food, pick what you like from several different kitchens - I had duck bao buns from Manzoku and gravy loaded chicken fries from Slap and Pickle - by no means the extent of the variety of food available, but delicious (non-spicy) and tasty meals! Visited with friends as an evening meal following business, would make sure to come back if/when in Manchester again! The only complaint I heard in our group that people were too full!

COULDNT EVEN ORDER!!! If you’re going to insist on ordering only through the QR codes in a building that has no phone signal maybe make sure your Wi-Fi works and that your webpage actually loads, spent ten minutes trying to load it with and without the Wi-Fi and when my friend actually managed to load it and order some drinks the order kept being rejected! DONT WASTE YOUR TIME!! Go to Maccy Mayor instead!

Packed out, buzzing atmosphere with a very cool way of allowing people to mingle for meals and / or drinks. Informal, easy to choose and pay for great food; served swiftly and politely. Delicious. Now I’ll bring friends and family back here!

Third time here, great food, lots of vegan choices and not just the usual unimaginative options (vegans are people too lol). Staff are friendly and helpful, a good vibe in general within the venue. Great outdoor space with pleasant surroundings, you wouldn’t think you were in the centre of Manchester.

I got the worst , rudest customer service ever at slap & pickle. They completely messed up my burger order (overcharging me in the process by over £15) and could not have been more rude when I returned my uneaten burger to ask for the burger I ordered. They slammed the replacement burger on my table and stormed off. They completely ruined our dinner for our entire table of 4 - we were all shocked. Never again

Extremely rude staff running the Slap & Pickle burger concession! They are a disgrace to the service industry and should not be operating in what is otherwise a good venue. I have been Manchester City centre resident for 15years and never experienced such rude and unprofessional service.

In a great location, canal-side just outside the hear of Manchester City centre. A great concept with it hosting a brewery bar & 5 Street food vendors. It was a visit around 2pm on a Tuesday. Outside seating was busy as it was nice weather. I sat inside and I really liked the space. You can order via a qr barcode on your table. I ate with the Indian street food place Chaat Cart. They had a lunchtime offer available with 1 selected wrap and a portion of fries for £10. The food was amazing! So flavoursome and the right amount of spice for my personal preference too. Beers were great too. Seems as if it's a bit of a hidden gem. If I'm back in Manchester again soon I'll definitely be visiting again.

I came with my friends before we went On a night out, the Korean fried chicken is really nice and the bread and butter pints are top notch. Couldn’t fault anything, we will be coming back.

I was really happy with the food I ordered (loaded fries and chicken wings, washed down with Vimto as we were in Manchester!). Lovely location too. The food took a bit of a time to come out but I think there had just been a massive rush of orders, so hopefully that isn't typical.

Have been in this bar a few times and have really enjoyed it. Great food and beer, good friendly staff and a really good vibe about the place. However, on yesterday’s visit we’d been sat at a table for about 30 mins or so and had just ordered food when one of the bar staff came over and slapped a “ Table reserved from 7pm” sign on our table which was in an hours time. As a result we spent the rest of our time in there looking at our watches and then moving on to another bar much earlier than planned as there was no where else to sit at the time. It seems really strange allowing reservations in this type of place (and certainly last minute ones) and makes you feel that as a paying customer you’re no where near as important as someone who’s just that second picked up a phone and who may well be late or not even turn up at all. It certainly spoiled our visit to a place that we normally love coming to.

Loved this place. Good beer (and other drinks). Great selection of different street food. We had the Korean fried chicken from Yoki and Katsura curry from Manzoku. Very reasonably priced and great relaxed atmosphere.
