Smokey Tails in Hackney

Había estado en su ubicación anterior para cenar (había oído que era el restaurante de Seth Troxler), que era genial, así que decidimos reservar su brunch sin fondo con un grupo de amigos (8 personas). La comida era estupenda, seguían trayendo Prosecco sin hacernos esperar y los panqueques ilimitados fueron lo más destacado. El personal fue muy amable (definitivamente recomiendo a Ken) y servicial incluso con nuestro amigo que es intolerante al gluten. Definitivamente voy a volver Bien vale la pena el dinero.

I would not recommend this place after the experience we had, we have heard of Smokey Tail and had it in the past and its been great. But poor this occasion the poor was very poor, I had the large fried chicken and Coney chilli fries and the friend chicken was very bland, not flavour at all and the batter would fall off (Maccy D's chicken select are superior to these!) Overall the chicken chunks used very way too big for fried chicken and probably better suited for a chicken schnitzel. The fries were okay, but the chili con carne on top had a weird flavouring to it that made it taste not great. there was a group of 8 of us and no one really enjoyed it. If you want good bbq food head to Blue Kitchen of something, there you wont be disappointed.

Came for a hangover cure for my best friends 30th birthday weekend; had a ball! The birthday girl was perhaps still a bit worse for wear but the staff were great, the atmosphere was original, quirky, charming and relaxing and food was perfect! Oh, and the never ending mimosas... yes please! Highly recommend the French Toast with Bacon and the Smashed Avocado - oh and ALLLL of the pancakes! Will be back and have recommended you to all friends and colleagues!

Emailed me 1 day before my brunch and said they have an issue with their landlord. I now have 24 hours to sort a brunch for 7 people. Shambles

Vine aquí para el brunch sin fin hace unas semanas y en general la experiencia fue satisfactoria. El prosecco no fue la mejor, pero la comida era bastante bueno, especialmente la opción de pollo frito y tostadas francesas. Sin embargo, las tortitas eran muy malos y sin duda no es el mejor que he probado.

We met here for girls brunch and had an awesome time. The food was amazing, with the fried chicken in French toast being the standout dish. The drinks were free flowing with the bottle left on the table to help yourself. The atmosphere was cool and the staff were friendly. We had a great time (paying for it today...) and would definitely recommend. Thanks guys!

We headed to this place after seeing a good write up in an Easy Jet in flight magazine. The short menu was a big hitter & the staff were very attentive, specifically a girl with vivid blonde hair, Alexa i think. On arrival we were greeted, sat down quickly on the outside terrace & had drinks on the table within minutes. I had a delicately smoked pineapple cocktail which was delightful. The food was as good, despite a slight delay due to them being busy - we still had out food within about 18 minutes from ordering. We left stuffed highlights being the mountain of lemony fried chicken & an excellent if not somewhat unusual cauliflower salad.

We randomly found this place and we were very glad we did. The service was chilled but attentive, Dan the man was on the ball with suggestions on food, drinks and where to go next for drinks. The food was pretty awesome,the ribs were a great portion and the mac and cheese worked well with it as it wasn't painfully cheesy. My girlfriend had chicken wings as a starter and they could have been a main as again it was a great portion. She then had the crispy chicken which by her surprise were boneless and very tasty with the sauces you were given. Overall a very good meal for a very good price. Will definitely be back!!

It was OK. You have to remember I'm a country boy at heart. Hoxton square is a bit hip for me. I'm not ancient, and in the 70s was quite down with it, but there's only so much Santana I can take. At ear shattering volume. My family were impressed with my moves though. But once again they let folk vape in an open doorway. What is up with these people? I vape but I wouldn't there. Chicken was excellent. My heritage salad too. Mac and cheese and pulled pork also. A few drinks, party of 5 £110. And that because they added £11 service charge. Which I noticed after. Cos I wouldn't have tipped. Not cos I'm mean. The service was slow and when it did arrive was far too familiar for my taste

After seeing all the foodies on insta rave about this place I was literally so excited to visit all week. Travelled from Clapham to come here and couldn't have been more disappointed. When we arrived we had no clue who was working there so we walked in and someone got up from a table to let us know they'll be over with us soon, all the waiters spent the entire night sat down, chatting away with their friends at every given opportunity. One waiter was even stood up kissing and cuddling another girl in the middle of the restaurant. I'm no prude but come on!!!! We ordered all of the starters and two sides to share. The wings were delicious as were the onion rings and that's as good as it got. The meatballs were standard with hardly any cheese and definitely no Parmesan as stated. The chilli cheese fries also had hardly any cheese, maybe they were on rations and running low? The chilli wasn't great but my boyfriend thought it was ok. The spinach dip came with bread drenched in oil that made them soggy and tasted awful. The worst part was without a doubt the Mac and cheese, so bland and was lukewarm on arrival. When someone came over to ask how our food was I mentioned what I've written above about the mac and cheese and spinach dip and he just replied oh ok I'll take these away and that was it. When we finished our meal, someone came over with a new mac and cheese and I said oh I didn't realise you were bringing a new one out, we've already finished and he was so rude to us and said 'why didn't you say you didn't want a new one, the old one wasn't even that cold anyway'... wow, great customer service! Someone else came over to tell us they took the mac and cheese off the bill but left the spinach on, yet when we added the bill up it still included the mac and cheese even though it was crossed out! So make sure you check your bill as they are all handwritten.... We waited ages all night for any kind of service as everyone was too busy with their friends, we just couldn't wait to leave. We asked for a table inside and was sat on a table with the doors wide open and had smoke blown over us and all of our food all night. The smoke was even coming from the person who was meant to be working front of house!!!!! I said to my boyfriend this place is like being round someone's house but not in a good way, especially when your spending your hard earned money. We weren't the only ones who were annoyed this night, we saw another table complain and they received free drinks, we couldn't even get anyone's attention, so they did well! Rubbish music, rubbish service and the biggest disappointment, rubbish food. Moral of this very long story is don't believe the hype off instagram!!! They only appear to make an effort for those that are invited to blog about the place.

Went with a large group for a friends birthday and couldn't have had a better night. We were running late thanks to a cocktail offer down the road but no problems whatsoever holding our reservation 30 mins. The food was fantastic, service was flawless, superb cocktails(especially the old fashioneds) and the icing on the cake was Seth being very generous with his time taking photos with everyone. Special thanks to Tigh? who really went above and beyond all night to make sure everything was perfect.

Went here for bottomless brunch over the weekend. 2 hours of unlimited amazing fried chicken with brioche french toast, bacon and maple syrup and prosecco! We rarely had to ask to be topped up! The drinks and food just kept on coming. For £30 this has to be one of the best bottomless brunches to visit!

OK I admit you would not go to a place like this if you were worried about your weight. However, as a barbecue-type place you don't really expect everything - even the corncob sides - to be slathered in grease. It just gets a bit much. That said the chicken wing starters were hot and tasty, and the meatballs rich and filling. The buns (burgers) were a disappointment - the pulled pork relatively tasteless and the chicken way too greasy. The hot chilli fries would be a meal in themselves. The slaw was very rich, too rich really, and the corn just too greasy - it could have provided a clean-tasting alternative to the mains, but didn't. Everything was hot and came quickly. We drank copious amounts of tap water (frequently refilled without our needing to ask) which usually indicates a high salt content to the food. A few reviews have commented on the service but our waiter was quick and very friendly, though admittedly he did make a minor mistake with our order. We left around half our meal as it was just too filling. Next time the starters alone would suffice. Overall pretty good but too salty and greasy for us. Nice location though with a patio directly on the square for alfresco eating.

Simple, unpretentious and really tasty. We had the BBQ spare ribs (enormous) and the fried chicken- large portion is really large. Great value for money. We will definitely be back.

We went here on a friday evening. Were told the dj music started much later. It was really deafening and irritating but no one bothered to reduce the noise level even after several requests. The food was average.The service was good.
