The 2 female dj’s were SUBLIME, but the midget one GYARD. She was something else, her energy energetic get slightly terrifying. Like doing a 🤘🏻 at your nans funeral, you just don’t know how the crowd will react. Imma come back cause she was something else. If you ever go in there get her a shot & also if you see her boyfriend shake his hand and say well done. Slims Liquor store BEAUTIFUL

The female DJs were dreadful. One blonde and one brunette. They thought they were so good but they were really bad so it was painful to watch! They had a really rude bad attitude too!

I just want to thank the lovely staff members who helped me when I was in crisis after being left stranded by a friend. They were incredibly supportive and helpful by making me feel safe when I was spiralling due to mh reasons. I can only thank them with all my heart for giving me fairs to get back to SW London and making it home safe at 3 in the morning. I don't think any other bar would be as giving or kind in any similar situation. Thank you Kelsey and the manager on shift who I forgot their name. And the door staff. Such kind people. Would definitely recommend as a safe and inclusive venue.

Fantastic bar, terrible security guards. Asked for ID despite being 38 years old and my friend being 50! Security swiped my bank card from me and asked me my name? Asked could they search me. Security reached his hand into my back pocket and pulled my keys out, searched through each key? All to 2 men who had 1 pint in a previous pub and were dressed appropriately? One of the most bizarre experiences with security I've ever had. The bar itself was great and bar staff very friendly. great music and atmosphere but will avoid in future and would suggest other people try Hope & Anchor up the street. Similar vibe and much friendlier and professional staff.

Came here with a friend and had a great time, some nights they have live bands and they are really good. The drinks are great price and the atmosphere there is very chill and fun.

So much fun, absolutely mental and you get a free drink if you give them your bra. Bra which hang from the ceiling. Drinks are a reasonable price for London. Can’t fault the place.

Great intimate gig venue. Went to see Vincent’s Flatts. Clientele nice mix of friendly people. Good atmosphere. The space in front of the bar is a bit narrow but still managed to get served in a reasonable about of time despite a lot of people ordering mixers etc. People have complained about the stools in front of bar limiting space but I thought it helped with getting served as otherwise people would just stand against the bar. You can just fit in between stools and the bar staff can see who’s waiting to be served. No hand pull real ale unfortunately so made do with Roadhouse IPA. Otherwise 5 stars. I will definitely keep an eye out for future gigs there. We were right up the front and band sounded good. Band also sounded good by bar when getting served. Drink Price seemed reasonably competitive for type of venue and location.

I came here with my two daughters as part of my elder daughter's twenty eighth birthday,as it was happy hour we got 4 cocktails,all very nice.

Popped here during supposed happy hour and the missus ordered a cocktail off menu. Next thing we knew two were being served up and at full price for each. No communication or asking what we both wanted. There was no mention of happy hour inside at all. Place was pretty miserable albeit being Sunday night. The staff were pretty downbeat and happy to charge for the two cocktails after us waiting ages at an empty bar. Used to go here quite a lot in my youth, but sadly they’ve stopped the ball now. Another inner London place happy to take customers for granted and offer nothing by return. Sad times but Slim Jim’s isn’t worth the visit any longer.

After a great Xmas Dinner just round the corner we have been recommended by the La Divina people to go to this bar. Such a great place to be not very expensive and cocktails were genuine ... Will definitely visit again next time in the area

When i first visited this place, It took me little over an hour to notice that the ceiling was covered with double-barreled slingshots, And when i did notice i spit my whiskey all over the bar, This didn't seem to trouble the staff though who were the friendliest I've encountered in London in the past couple of years while working there, The only place I've been to date in the big smoke where the bar staff actually care enough to remember both your name and what you usually drink, A perfect late night drinking spot for me and my work buddies

El hombre o la puerta (que muchos otros críticos han mencionado) rechazaron la entrada a mi amigo y a mí según el código de vestimenta. Visité hace un par de semanas con un amigo un lunes por la noche y tuvimos una experiencia encantadora. Seguramente el portero mencionado en otras reseñas fue diferente. Nos recibieron con una sonrisa y una bienvenida y nos desearon una gran noche a nuestra llegada.El barman fue muy amable y comunicativo, e incluso esperar a que preparen las bebidas fue un placer. Nos sirvieron con una sonrisa todo el tiempo que pasamos allí.La música era genial, nos aconsejaron bebidas de hora feliz y el lugar era moderno y acogedor. Toda la experiencia fue muy positiva.Definitivamente estaría regresando.

On the ceiling of this bar there are hundreds of bras, and that is the one thing that sticks in my memory. The drinks were ordinary, if expensive. The music was ordinary (rock), but don't expect to be able to chat. And the decor in general was tired. There's no space to dance, and a very broad range of clientele. I probably wouldn't go back, but it was open late, and we wanted a few more...

Fun night out had by all! Good music and not too over crowded but enough for us to feel it had a good atmosphere. Reasonably priced drinks! Always a fun time at Slim Jim’s

My friends and I have ended up here after a night out on upper street as it stays open late.its dark and can get busy drinks are expensive. I wouldnt highly recommend but it is good if you want to stay out that bit later.

Man har hittat på att om man lämnar in sin BH så får man en gratis drink. Hela taket är givetvis fullt av BH. Troligtvis är alla köpta på secondhand för att spä på myten.

Have been in Slim Jims a few times before, and only really went in because it was local to other activities that I had on later in the day. Hasn't changed much, with a poor selection of draft beers that wereover priced to say the least. Attitude form the staff didn't make me enjoy my drink anymore, and I might suggest the establishment works harder on good customer service and a better selection of drafts than trying so hard to "be cool". Epic faliure...

A very lively bar open until late. I liked the decor, it was dark but fun. staff were quick and they had a great selection of cocktails and other drinks. great location and will go back.

Um lugar muito bom pra comer hambúrguer, tomar cerveja e outros drinks e ouvir um Rock N’ Roll. A decoração é animal e os atendentes são super simpáticos. Recomendo!

4 of us had a great day/night in London (on my birthday) at The Stone Roses Wembley gig, we were based near Kings Cross but struggled to get in any bars afterwards, a black cab driver suggested and drove us here. £3 each to get in...no problem. After 1 round of 4 x Mojitos (£32) bought by my friend, I then ordered and paid for 4 x white Russians (£30), I had one sip and put it on the booth table where we were sat then proceeded outside for a cigarette. Upon finishing my cigarette I was astonished to be told by the 2 doormen that I was unable to return to my friends and drinks I had just bought as I was too intoxicated. Don't get me wrong I'd had a few as it was my birthday which I explained to them and I'd just returned from a gig but in no way shape or form was I unable to control my actions...plus everyone in the bar - which wasn't that busy - must have also had a "few", but the bouncer (especially the Irish guy) took it upon himself to be totally over the top and explain that I was no way going back into the bar because of the "state" I was in. Funny though how just 20 minutes or so ago they thought I was OK to take £3 entrance fee from me and 5 minutes ago charge me £30 for a round. The doorman was on a total ego trip and I hope he feels really proud that he did nothing less than ruin a fantastic day right at the end. The only time I would ever return to this place is to have a complimentary cocktail in exchange for the rude, unfair and aggressive manner in which I was treated.

Visited in April with friends. Various reviews have mentioned this, and I have to agree, the doorman was completely over the top. Very officious. Bar OK, but the welcome on the door was not pleasant.

Best bar to go to for a drink, and get away from mainstream music, and listen to some good rock music. The staff are friendly, even though i've never had an issue with their doorstaff, they do need to tell them to chill.The place it self isn't big, and its cosy, but it does get a bit unconfortable when it gets packed with too many people, specially on a Friday and Saturday.Overall its a great place to go for a drink specially during week days.

We found the doorman ok vs other reviews, definitely not friendly though.Inside this place is small and quite cramped, but we managed to grab a couple of stools and enjoy our night. Loved the music, could get repetitive, think we heard teenage wasteland about 3 times, but if it's from the jukebox then at least people are getting their tunes.I love this type of bar, shame they don't do more with the interior to get rid of the booths and make it bigger, but hey, we had a good time.

Visited this bar midweek in March, thinking it would be a nice place to go for a drink after a meal. It looked empty inside, but the doorman made us stand in the street and wait. He then reeled off the dress code, and decided me and my friend couldn't enter. Seemed silly as it was late and so quiet inside. He was extremely rude to us, and basically told us to get lost. I will never go back to this place.

Arrived for a drink midweek with my girlfriend and the doorman was very rude. He took delight in reeling off then enforcing their dress code. We were both eventually let in, but based on that experience I would not go back there.

Visited London in Feb and friends recommended this place as late night bar. The doorman was so rude when we arrived. Not all friends spoke English that well, and the doorman was very difficult about dress code with us, arguing with people, and making them undress in street before entering. I would never go back here.

I sat and had a beer, I was then asked to move as were setting up for a band , I think, then after a another 5 minutes was told I was in the way, some horrid guy with a beard, Spanish or Italian, although I sat in the exact stop then asked me to move to. Wont come again. That will make it easier on us all.

Been to Slim Jims in Angel 4 or 5 times. Great cocktail and drink selection + music, but the door staff are rude almost every single time, not only to me, but my friends and countless people we meet within the bar as well as (obviously) other reviewers here... Why do the security here have such large chips on their shoulders...? In addition, bar staff obviously don't want to be there judging by their unapproachableness and general lack of conversation/personality.... would it hurt to say thank-you or show at least some sort of manners? Perhaps even a smile? Such a shame because this place could be so good. Felt compelled to write this review after my last visit where the above issues were experienced yet again to the extreme! Avoid and spend your money in somewhere that actually welcomes the custom!

Worst service ever! The two brunettes girls at the bar are really rude with women customers, not one smile and give you the drinks like they are doing a favour to you. Rude talk. Try to avoid get drinks from them but the other waiters were busy. It just make you to don't want to go to the bar and ask for drinks.

Last Saturday I went there with my colleague and a couple of her friends.It was my first time in this place and I really liked it when I got in. I love rock bars so I thought I found the right place to have a good night.Late at night I was outside having a cigarette and socialising when the doormen started not allowing more people in. That should have not affected me because I was already a customer and I had pay previously to get in... Wrong. Doorman did not allow me to get back in. Obviously I complained, and he just said: wait there 5 minutes.By that point, I was outside on my own because my friends don't smoke. One of my bags were inside with them and It was being impossible to contact anyone.I kept insisting to get back in saying that I had paid and doorman become rude to me, he called a girl from the staff and she literally throw coins at me as in giving me the money back. It was pure humiliation, everybody in street kept looking at me wondering what happened.I have dealt with security teams loads of times in different size of venues and bars because I've worked producing music events and I have never seen a security man treating a woman like this. I will never recommend this place to anyone. They need to teach some manners to their staff.

Spent not one but two nights in this fantastic rock bar. The staff are friendly and the drinks are mixed and served with very good pace. I must also give credit to the door staff normally they are not as friendly or helpful or reasonable the staff staff there were and brilliant t banter. Thanks for two awesome nights!!!!!

It does rock of all sorts/ages very well, this dive bar is by far the best pub in London, 2-4-1 cocktails and great staff as well as an amazing venue. Go to see the bras, stay for the liquor and lols.

Went here for a last drink after having dinner at the pig and butcher which incidently is fab! It was very busy with rock music from the 90s playing on the juke box! Bras galore hanging from the ceiling! Novel! Doorman was very friendly. I liked slim jims it is a busy unpretentious bar where you can get a late drink but don't expect posh! Will definitely return for that last drink of the evening that you almost certainly didn't need!

This place is one of the few late night bars on Upper Street and it's a great wee dive bar. The ceiling has the bras of previous female customers hanging from the ceiling, the jukebox has 90s rock songs and they do cocktails! It's not everyone's cuppa tea but I love this place. It's small but has a good atmosphere - can get pretty crowded at the weekend. They often have live music too so it's worth checking out what's on!

Popped into this dingy bar with bras (?!) hanging from the ceiling and delighted to hear 90's grunge favourites Pearl Jam on the jukebox so was sold! Went back later and disappointed to see a DJ had ruined it! Let the customers choose the tunes!

Great choice of British and American beers on tap and in bottles. Not sure if they do food have never tried.Always heaving outside with smokers and quite noisy, so probably best to be quite outgoing to go there, to make yourself heard.A place for a night out with mates, wouldn't recommend for dates or with parents!A strict dress code is in place, no suits allowed! If you are a posh banker stay away :o)

Was took here by friends and spent the night actually near the entrance cause it was so crowded. Didn't even want to use the toilets as even the stairway to the loos STANK of urine.

Very noisy and crowded but one of the only bars opened late on Upper Street. They also do cheap pizzas, but I've never tried it.

I love this bar because I always know what I'm getting: a pickleback and a beer to start. If you haven't tried a pickleback, make it your first. Not the place to go for an evening of cocktails and catch ups. If you like beers, dive bars and rock music, you've found the right place. I like a place that knows how to have fun but also when to stop serving people ; ) Keeps out the ruffians!

Slim Jims is my guilty pleasure. It's an American dive bar, so you have to go in expecting grotty service and general dirtiness.They make no secret for the type of people they let in, with a clear sign on the door saying no shoes, no suits, no football kits etc.Never had a problem with the bouncers there, they're pretty relaxed.The pizza they serve there is actually pretty decent as its made fresh. Perfect for soaking up the beer and spirits that you will inevitably consume here.

I can't get over how much I love this place. I discovered it a few months ago with my boyfriend and we went back at least once every week for over a month. We haven't eaten there, but have had many a good night with some drinks and meeting some of the loveliest people. The drinks are pretty standard prices, and I would definitely be willing to pay more simple due to the music. Go. Drink. Be merry.

I had the worst experience with a very rude and arrogant bouncer who ruined what was otherwise a nice evening. Beware of standing near the entrance for longer than a minute - I was thrown out for txt-ing. When asked for his name and manager - he refused to co-operate knowing that he was in the wrong. I have been living in London for 3 years and have not had any bad bouncer experience. This was truly terrible and I hope the management can handle this issue. Otherwise, the bar is fun and the atmosphere inside was good. Cash only both to get in and on the bar - very unusual for London..

was not impressed at all here very dark and dull i was given a chipped glass first then the second glass was dirty, the staff were eating pizza behind the bar and not washing their hands before serving a drink, i wont return.

The bouncers would not let me in because they insisted I was trying to sneak in drinks and even though I asked them to search me and prove it they refused. One of the bouncers who was a person of colour took me aside and told me they are trying to minimise black people. I was with a group of about 20 people and I was the only person of colour in the group and the only one in the group refused entry. It was humiliating and unfair. I would never dream of going again.
