How can you destroy macaroni cheese? Wish I'd looked before ordering. You could suck it through your teeth. Absolutely macerated. Every meal/roll leaves you with acid later in the day. How can you run out of Sasser meat before 8am every morning?

Such a friendly place. Staff go out of their way to help and make customers feel welcome. Extremely popular with locals and not difficult to see why.

'Dippin lickin chicken' one of "go to's" I've had before was almost inedible, the chicken "nuggets" were cremated to such a degree that the breadcrumb coating shattered into shards rather than cut, and the pieces of chicken inside were only just on the edible side of being far too dry. I will think very hard before returning here in future even though I've been a regular for years.

I went here for a morning cup of tea last week and I was amazed at how well they’ve given the cafe a brand new makeover. I love the mural of various photographs and how more modern it looks! I would certainly go back here again.

Went here with my son (photo for reference) and it was dreadful! He asked for a slurp Juice (some game thing) and the waiter beat him with a tray! To be fair the food was decent!

First morning visit, they had run out of some breakfast goods so they made fresh for me. For £6 I thought I got a good selection of goods where 4 slices of toads wasn’t part of their deal. It was hotel quality and a great variety of things on the one plate. Only thing that was missing was fruit pudding but everything else was there. So, well impressed indeed. Nice mug of tea to finish the job. I’ll be back for another try another Saturday morning

used to be one of the favourite haunts for breakfast in Lerwick, but having not been for a few years, change of ownership I'm guessing, rude staff, poor food, £12.10 for a tea a coffee and three less that mediocre rolls, rip off, sorry, wont be back when we next visit Shetland

We felt the place had gone a bit down hill over the years, but to be fair the staff were really lovely and friendly and there was a great choice of menu. I had macaroni cheese, which was a large portion and a bit stodgy but very tasty and very filling. Hubby had either steak pie or shepherds pie we dont seem to be able to agree on which it was, but which ever, it was very good as my husband said so at the time. There was a big queue, but it was lunch time. The coffee was ok and we sat by the window. It was warm and clean, nothing to write home about but it was a very fair meal for a very fair price and a large portion. Would we go back, yes.

Been here twice in the past few weeks and really enjoyed our visits both times. I had the famous DLC (dipping licking chicken) on my first visit as the guy in front of me in the queue ordered it and it looked great! It was really delish! Quite big portions for your money too. On my second visit we took out Daughter and 3 year old Grandaughter. We had macaroni and cheese and our wee one had a "kids box meal". You got a choice of kids meals with juice, a biscuit, some crayons and a wee colouring book. A great idea for kids. The Mac and cheese was superb too btw.

Can't make up my mind weather I like here or not. I've visited quite a few times and I've had mixed reviews of here. Considering the place is run by the same people who owns the muckle cafe in clickimin the food is miles apart. The chicken dipping licking dish here is awful compared to the clickimin place. BUT the steak rolls are fantastic. You gotta be quick though as they sell out fast! I'll keep trying here though as it's kid friendly and not too bad in price compared to other places I guess plus I like the steak rolls! ❤

Popular with the locals, which is a good sign. We had a huge beef stew with absolutely no fat or gristle, and a very tasty cauliflower cheese, which was also enormous. We didn't have chips (which I think made us look a bit odd as chips appeared to be served with everything). Coffee was average, but the staff were friendly and efficient and it was clean, spacious and lively. And we thought it was good value for money.

Just average cafe grub. Nothing more nothing less. Staff is friendly, and benefits from 20p refill on coffee. :) They serve a good verity of lunch grub, unfortunately it closes a bit early

The Skipidock is nothing special, but there's nothing wrong with it. Their breakfasts are particularly good, and definitely their speciality, but everything else is okay too. It's a bit of a greasy spoon - great for hangovers! The staff are friendly enough but are very distracted. The old style of queuing up for your food seems a bit out-dated, but it works for them. Cheap and cheerful is the best way to describe this I think.

I have been here on numerous occasions when visiting the area and one of my "must" Shetland experiences is to have one of their panini's with their delicious sweet & sour sauce during my stay. Once I have had it, I always want to come back for more. The service is fab; very quick and efficient, i've never had any problems. The range of seating makes for a comfortable visit each time. They have a good range of homely foods, (I just really love their panini's and sauce!!) at fair prices. It's what you expect from a cafe really. I will continue to come here when in the area.

I have avoided going to the Skipidock ever since I was in my teens because the cafe is so busy I can't find a table to sit at. The cafe looks too old in today's modernisation.

Came off the Ferry, and attempted to get some breakfast. The pompous git at the Peerie was rude and not accommodating, and we ended up here. The ladies who run it made us feel very welcome - and free refills of coffee.Thank you, you were a life saver that day, and the bacon and egg rolls were magic !

Good, often busy café in Lerwick's only indoor shopping centre. Recommend the baked potatoes! Quite a nice view from the window seats.

Well appointed restaurant with fantastic views. We had a lunch and a dinner there. For dinner, venison, duck and pavlova all delicious. Cranachan ice cream very tasty but not what we would expect cranachan to be. Service perfectly reasonable. All very good, but not 5* excellent. Would go again.

When you first realise that the building is actually a shop you are delighted to have found somewhere to buy food or in fact almost anything else you can think of. The bakery section is particularly welcome for hungry explorers. It’s a shame they don’t still have the DIY cafe.
