Lovely restaurant and all our food was very nice, no faults there. However the service was just awful unfortunately, not just with just 1 particular server but all of them. Had to ask for our first round of drinks order, had to ask for the menus, had to ask someone to take food order, had to ask for a sauce 3 times, waited 25 minutes to be offered a desert menu which didn’t happen so gave up waiting and asked for the bill instead (which did come quickly with 12.5 % service charge) but then coming back for payment took ages ! It seemed we were almost invisible. Shame as food was very good but probably won’t return.

We had dinner on Christmas Eve and it was wonderful. The Greek-Turkish style sharing plates were delicious and the grilled meat was wonderful. We will return.

Best pornstar cocktail Iike velvety around your mouth. 56£ was alot for the mixed grill asnits lovely cooked but still kebab.. and one each if you share by 2.. 1rib ,1chicken sheesh etc for the amount you pay for everything I would imagine they would of served you with pitas and dips as a complimentary welcome. The atmosphere and the piano was relaxing and lovely. The staff very friendly. The food was delicious especially the lamb cutlets.

A couple of years ago, I visited Skew for a boozy lunch and had the fillet steak, which was outstanding. Today, I decided to try it again, wondering if it could match my previous experience, especially during the busy December party season when the place was packed. My goodness, they delivered! My friend had the scallops as a main, and it was beautifully executed. Thank you, Skew!

Had a lovely meal but did feel a bit confused by the bar service - thinking we were getting a free birthday drink but we actually ended up paying for two lychee martinis which would not have been our drink of choice and we weren’t presented it as would you like to order this rather “a lychee martini? a birthday treat” Otherwise service and food were great and as expected!

Food was stunning. Decor was top class, (we felt underdressed stepping in as it was our first time coming, but the staff made us feel absolutely welcome and even joined in on our crazy banter 😂) Portions and price on the slightly dearer side however you definitely get what you pay for. The sweet chilli jam that came with the halloumi was GORGEOUS. The grilled octopus with the roasted peppers was a top highlight. No complaints about dessert either. Service was superb, perfect timing with when to ask what. Honestly would love to come back and try their sushi menu and hoping it doesn’t disappoint!!

celo is a great server and magician

Sick place! Pretty reasonably priced, very good food and the service was outstanding. We were served by a Turkish guy who deffos went above and beyond, but the rest of the staff were also very helpful. Came away having had a great meal, feeling not ripped off, and like I’d had a very pleasant and enjoyable experience - would recommend this place!

As always truly fantastic food . Atmosphere great and brilliant service looked after by Celo! Sushi is amazing as are the cocktails.

Excellent halal food and lovely environment. They have a lot of staff who are all amazingly friendly but service for drinks was slower than I expected. I had a steak which was cooked beautifully.

My first visit at Skew in Bishops Stortford and I’d most definitely go back. The food was absolutely delicious and the service was fantastic. All the staff were very nice and couldn’t do more to make sure we had a fantastic evening. Highly recommend for any occasion. Food was cooked in the right way but rooms for improvement for seasoning. Fish dishes were too salty. Maybe there’s not enough staff, not attentive enough and no one care about food allergies. Overall atmosphere is great, good portion size. However, considering the service and the taste, not really worthy.

I visit Skew regularly and am never disappointed! The food is lovely and the staff are professional and friendly and I have always been made to feel very welcome. Highly recommended.

I have actually never been more disgusted in my life by how I was treated. Popped in around 10 mins ago as staying in the area for work and I was turned away. When I queried why I just got a “sorry” and even when I mentioned there was ample seating inside and out all I got from the front of house was “sorry”. I have never been turned away from a restaurant before and I have even had corporate events here with my company. I will be making people aware of how they treat customers!

Absolutely wonderful experience! The atmosphere as we walked in was so luxurious, making us feel special right away. We were celebrating my mum's birthday, and they truly went above and beyond. Our waiter Robin, treated us like royalty, ensuring everything was perfect. They showered us with free cocktails, birthday cake, and ice cream, making the celebration even more memorable. The food was amazing, and every dish was a delight. Highly recommend for any special occasion and will be taking all my friends and family soon!

We come to Skew every so often on a Sunday usually for their Sunday roast and it’s so good! The beef is very tender and juicy; all the vegetables and trimmings are very nice. Generally food is always good otherwise on the a la carte, and the staff; in particular Robin is very friendly and welcoming. Thanks a lot

I do not ever leave reviews, and as one of my favourite places to dine in my home town which i go to multiple times a month it seems a little strange; however i felt impelled to want to leave a review as Okan our waiter, who has served us on so many occasions i can not account for, really has made our evenings so enjoyable with his attentive, polite, professional and personal persona. I wanted to ensure he was acknowledged. As for the restaurant.... the ambience is always amazing. The quality of the food is great, from the produce to chefs' precision cooking mastery. It is always fabulous and always consistent. Thank you, Ali, for creating this amazingl high-end eatlery experience, which can be enjoyed inside in the beautiful setting you have created, to the stunning alfresco conservatory dining with river veiws, to the outside relaxed river terrace. All of which I have personally enjoyed for the past 7 years. If you have not experienced this restaurant, then i would highly recommend whether it is a business lunch, a date, a girls' evening, a special event, a solo dinner, causal drink on the river in the sunshine, or just because...... You won't be disappointed. One last mention to one of my most memorable and incredible staff who use to work there called 'Sherif'. He was always phenomenal and will never be forgotten. Okan, you are great. A restaurant relies on quality food and impecible service. You have made a lovely evening perfect on multiple occasions when you have been there, so thank you! A fantastic experience from the moment we arrived. Skew never fails to impress. We were shown to our table in the conservatory, which is beautiful, overlooking the river. We visited for Father’s Day and we both ordered the roast lamb. Fabulous food of the highest quality and impeccable service.It’s always an absolute pleasure to dine at Skew.Thank you to Ali and all the front of house team for making us feel so welcome, we’ll be back very soon.

Visited last week on Saturday, for lunch with friends while celebrating the imminent arrival of her baby. Service was not great - either almost too intense and stern, or non existent. I wonder if they had new staff that day as some did not seem to know what they were doing. I think it would have been better if they paid less attention to their tablets and were friendlier towards customers. Food was okay - I enjoyed the flavour of the beef fillet skewer, but I wasn't asked how I'd like it cooked, so it was way over done for this cut of meat and was dry. The other food our table had was fine but we thought a little expensive for what it was. My gin basil sour cocktail was great. It was a nice view over the river from the conservatory.

Great place to have a Sunday roast. But they do also have a full a La carte menu. The atmosphere was great and we were also treated to a live piano player. The food and drinks were fantastic. I had the vegetarian roast option which was delicious. The staff were very helpful too. Thanks for a lovely afternoon.

We went on Saturday evening and had the most amazing experience with our family. The food was excellent. The waiter Service was beyond excellent many thanks for making it a lovely family evening five stars and beyond.
