Salad,meat,sides,everything was so delicious, excellent services. If you want to eat a delicious meal while enjoying the sun, it's the best option . Reward yourself.

This was the most amazing experienceat SKEW ,the welcome was so great with such a great reception from the Manager Robin,he was quite warm and paying attention to details.Kept checking on us throughout and wow the cocktails are Aaamazzzinng !bi can't fault the service everyone paid attention and we literally could spend all day there ..

The main course was very tasty just seemed very expensive for what you got, disappointed for it to be the first Turkish restaurant I’ve ever been too that doesn’t give you complimentary bread. Staff didn’t seem to know what each other was doing and either no one served us (we waited 45 minutes to be asked what food we wanted and another half hour before it came out) or two people asked the same question and then we were charged 12.5% on the bill for service. Pianist was good though! Don’t think we will return.

The Manager Robin was amazing, very welcoming and warm, definitely made the experience worth while, I’m sure we stayed there longer than expected because of how nice it was. It doesn’t take from the fact that the FOOD and drinks were AMAZING!!

Great restaurant, a true gem on the river Stort. Always good service, Ali and his team are extremely professional. .Food is delicious.. We have been for lunches on the terrace, family celebrations in the private dining area and evening meals. There are often DJs and entertainment at weekends. The takeaway food is also a cut above the rest, arrives hot and well presented. Tonight we collected our food for a quiet family night in.

My wife and I arrived at the restaurant and received a warm greeting, we were sadly placed near the river window with the sun blinding me, but when I called the server he immediately moved us to a more suitable table. As we ordered drinks, the bartender overheard and literally, within a minute we received our drinks. The starters for my wife were mussels and she praised them highly. I tried the sauce (as not keen on mussels) it was superb—tasty—and not too much garlic—plus was very creamy. My lamb koftas starters were very good in taste, presentation and quality of the lamb. The starters came with a side dish of bread that was also tasty and so great - we asked for more! We both had the lamb shish as a main (from the lunch menu), and it was cooked very well indeed - a lovely chilli sauce on the skewers - the bread under the lamb was also superb in taste. I asked a passing staff member for the manager and he arrived looking concerned - but when I praised the server, the bartender and the chef, and promised to write this review, he looked very pleased. If you are passing, you have to try the food and enjoy the superb service.

Just returned from an evening at Skew in Bishop's Stortford and had rather mixed feelings about the experience. The positives first - the restaurant itself is absolutely beautiful with a lovely atmosphere and stylish décor. The menu offers a great selection of dishes, and the staff were genuinely friendly and pleasant throughout our visit. Unfortunately, the service was disappointingly slow, despite the restaurant not being particularly busy. We had to request water twice before it finally arrived, and there was a noticeable delay with the beer while the Prosecco appeared almost instantly. The starters were excellent overall, though the hummus portion was disproportionately small compared to the bread served alongside it and somewhat bland in flavour. A small point of contention - the menu describes "hand-cut chips" but what arrived were clearly oven-style home chips. A bit misleading, that. For dessert, the baklava was absolutely delicious, but I was thoroughly disappointed with the sticky toffee pudding. Having enjoyed this classic dessert around the world, I was surprised to receive something that bore little resemblance to a proper sticky toffee. There was no discernible date flavour, and the texture was extraordinarily dry and hard - more like a plain sponge coated in cocoa powder. Not at all what one expects from this beloved pudding. As someone who works in hospitality, I understand the inclusion of a service charge, but given the slow and inconsistent service we experienced, it felt somewhat unjustified on this occasion Additionally, another table of rather rowdy diners, bad languages and were already merry. Not great for this type of restaurant. A lovely venue with potential, but several areas need improvement if I'm to return.

I got this food as take away ,the salad is gone .I don’t know if they themselves can eat such a salad! Chicken doesn’t taste good . It could be marinated better.

I ordered grilled sea bass and my partner was lamb ribs. The food is ok but not as good as written in most of the review.

Food is very tasty but quite minimal, I had chicken shish with chips, and there were 7 chips !. Desert was a sticky toffee pudding, which is apparently made on the premises as per their menu but it was a microwave pudding with minimal custard which was cold but cost £7.95. Service wasn't the best. Waiters seemed unhappy, and you had to keep asking for items that you should have been offered, ording drinks was also slow. Wouldn't visit again for the cost. There are better places that offer better value, service & atmosphere.

We have just been for lunch and not only was the food amazing so was the service. Ayup our waiter was superb. We hadn’t been for a while but definitely won’t leave it long before we come back

Lovely restaurant and all our food was very nice, no faults there. However the service was just awful unfortunately, not just with just 1 particular server but all of them. Had to ask for our first round of drinks order, had to ask for the menus, had to ask someone to take food order, had to ask for a sauce 3 times, waited 25 minutes to be offered a desert menu which didn’t happen so gave up waiting and asked for the bill instead (which did come quickly with 12.5 % service charge) but then coming back for payment took ages ! It seemed we were almost invisible. Shame as food was very good but probably won’t return.

Best pornstar cocktail Iike velvety around your mouth. 56£ was alot for the mixed grill asnits lovely cooked but still kebab.. and one each if you share by 2.. 1rib ,1chicken sheesh etc for the amount you pay for everything I would imagine they would of served you with pitas and dips as a complimentary welcome. The atmosphere and the piano was relaxing and lovely. The staff very friendly. The food was delicious especially the lamb cutlets.

A couple of years ago, I visited Skew for a boozy lunch and had the fillet steak, which was outstanding. Today, I decided to try it again, wondering if it could match my previous experience, especially during the busy December party season when the place was packed. My goodness, they delivered! My friend had the scallops as a main, and it was beautifully executed. Thank you, Skew!

Had a lovely meal but did feel a bit confused by the bar service - thinking we were getting a free birthday drink but we actually ended up paying for two lychee martinis which would not have been our drink of choice and we weren’t presented it as would you like to order this rather “a lychee martini? a birthday treat” Otherwise service and food were great and as expected!

Sick place! Pretty reasonably priced, very good food and the service was outstanding. We were served by a Turkish guy who deffos went above and beyond, but the rest of the staff were also very helpful. Came away having had a great meal, feeling not ripped off, and like I’d had a very pleasant and enjoyable experience - would recommend this place!

Food was stunning. Decor was top class, (we felt underdressed stepping in as it was our first time coming, but the staff made us feel absolutely welcome and even joined in on our crazy banter 😂) Portions and price on the slightly dearer side however you definitely get what you pay for. The sweet chilli jam that came with the halloumi was GORGEOUS. The grilled octopus with the roasted peppers was a top highlight. No complaints about dessert either. Service was superb, perfect timing with when to ask what. Honestly would love to come back and try their sushi menu and hoping it doesn’t disappoint!!
