Great wine selection, staff's very friendly!

Really lovely, intimate venue with great staff and a great selection of wine (even as someone who isn't much of a wine drinker). Highly recommend.

Excellent and friendly staff. Vast choice of excellent wine and amazing, contemporary food which seems to compliment the wine. A really gorgeous place to visit. AND, they welcome well behaved dogs!

Weird one really. The place looks nice, and plenty of wine available, what with being a wine bar. Me and my friend had booked and came here after a meal. It’s very small, and I felt a bit claustrophobic. When ordering 2 cocktails which were labelled on the wall, I told the server I didn’t drink wine - to which I see him telling the owner who shook his head in what seemed like dismay. I don’t mind the tongue-in-cheek novelty of coming to a wine bar and not liking wine, but felt it was airing on the side of mocking me. All said, it was a lovely cocktail, I just don’t think the vibe is for me.

Superb place on Burton Road, great wine, food, service and decoration &lighting. Highly recommended!

Attended a function there. Very good food, longest wine list since I visited le Tour d'Argent (Paris, then the best restaurant in France) over thirty years ago, if a bit expensive. Superb service. A bit cramped, so we had to sit outside, but still very pleasant .

Went for wine tasting here. The staff were very friendly and knowledgeable about their wines. This was a great experience and a very good wine bar!

What a find. This place is absolutely glorious, the atmosphere, decor, staff and the wine selection are so good. The owners are extremely knowledgable about their wine and are very welcoming. We had a sharing cheese and meat platter which was extremely generous in proportion and was very high quality. We will be back.

What a gem of a place in the heart of west Didsbury on burton road. I am a regular 2-3 times a week and wouldn’t change this place for the world. Its is such a beautiful little independent wine bar with beautiful wines and amazing cocktails. Trish, Nick, Sam and Euan are credits to the team. They do amazing platters of food and nibbles. If anyone fancies a lovely little night out for dates, double dates or groups of friends this is the place to be. Thankyou for always looking after us x

Fantastic little wine bar in Didsbury. It is quite small and can be difficult to get a table if you haven't reserved in advance - but it's definitely worth the effort! They have a unique wine dispensing system so you can choose from a wide selection and serve yourself, but you can also order your wine as normal if you prefer. I thought the selection of wines were great. The cheese and charcuterie board was good too. Only wish there was one closer to visit more easily!

I love this little gem of a place. Wonderful choice of fantastic wines and delicious sharing plates to go with it all served in a warm friendly atmosphere. Nick and Tricia are lovely friendly hosts and are very knowledgeable about what they serve. An all round wonderful experience, can't praise it enough. Please go and see for yourselves.

It's a nice place, with good music, but overpriced wine that is not the best. With what you pay for a large glass you can get a bottle of better quality in the country of that wine.

Really nice place from when I've visited in the past. But I was a bit let down after recommending here to a friend and she was told she couldn't book as it's walk in's only. She then visited at the weekend and there was 3 tables available, but was then told she couldn't have a table as they are reserved? How do you work that one out?

My first visit to Sip. What a gorgeous place we were made so welcome. Excellent wine and food. We will definitely return.

The only bad thing about Sip is that it's quite small and can be difficult to get a table - but it's definitely worth the effort! They have a wine dispensing system so you can choose from a wide selection and serve yourself, but you can order your wine as normal if you prefer. The food is fantastic especially the chips. There are plenty of great places to eat and drink on Burton Road, but Sip is one of the best.

Would be unfair to give them less than 5* at this point of lockdown. We went looking for a drink and they were one of the few places with outdoor seating, sure when things open up next week it’ll be different. Friendly staff and decent prices!

Nice little place to meet for drinks before dinner...or after dinner. Chance to sampke so many different wines. You can load a card with money and use the card to then top up your glass with a chouce of so many wines. Access via metro too.

Very nice little wine bar. Great choice of wine by the bottle and they also have those fancy machines to try wine by the glass (they had at least a dozen to try). You load up a card and away you go, serving yourself from the machine, although the staff are on hand to give advice on the wines. The menu was good and although we didn't eat we will next time. Cosy, relaxing atmosphere and good wine - what more do you need.

Small family run wine bar serving nice varied food to share. Nick the owner has sold wine to the trade for many years and knows his stuff. Self service for the wine by the glass in tasting, medium and large amounts from a wall of different wines. Tables inside and out. Food served to your table. Don’t leave your card in the wine dispenser! On trendy Burton Road

Cool little bar in West Didsbury. All based around the concept of sampling different wines at your leisure. We ate there and had the tasting menu, 3 delicious courses each paired with a 50ml glass of wine. We paid the £5 extra to get the larger measure of wine, well worth it. The staff were excellent and knew what they were taking about. They made us feel really welcome and were attentive the whole evening. We'll definitely be going back!

Innovative. This place is a lot of fun if you like oyster cards and wine. Neat idea to have an auto dispensing wine bar, which is a novel idea and one that merits a visit. You will be pleasantly surprised by the quality of the food and excellent desserts in offer. I highly recommend the cheesy chips and any of the Brownie's.

This is a great restaurant which we've visited many times. We love the atmosphere, choice of wines and fantastic food. The staff are excellent.....very polite and helpful. SIP is situated in the heart of trendy West Didsbury and we can't wait to go back. We highly recommend it.

Sip is lovely. Great atmosphere and very attentive staff. One thing I would change though: please offer more vegan food options and a vegan tasting menu. It seems quite odd to offer vegan wines on the vegetarian tasting menu, but then serve it with cheese heavy dishes. It would be great to see more vegan dishes and would treble your customer base through word of mouth. There are lots of vegans in Didsbury and the surrounding areas that would happily spend their money here if there was more choice for them. Other than that, it is well worth visiting. Thanks Sip!

A friend scoped out Sip on behalf of a group of 8 adults who felt like celebrating a rare occasion together, but Sip refused to accommodate our request despite it being mid-week and us being aware of the lack of wheelchair ramp and offering to bring our own portable one to handle the step. I thought it was the act of one staff member having one bad day, but now I know it's more than that - one of the SCI groups I'm in had a far more local member actively turned away at the door and copping a load of ablist abuse at the same time. Sip carefully - this isn't worth drinking at.

Discriminates against disabled people. Abusive when asked for help and a portable ramp.

A friend of mine in a wheelchair was refused service and treated rude by an employee there. I highly recommended avoiding this place.

Very rude people who won't allow disabled people into the bar, no accessibility into the facility and over all trashy acting people. Don't recommend and highly advise others to stay away as well.

Great wine bar in West didsbury serving wine in a slightly novel way of using a vending machine. Great customer service and interesting selection of food. The only let down is it's not the most comfortable

Lovely chilled atmosphere, nice music and good selection of drinks. Not the cheapest place but a nice independent and sophisticated one!

Excellent place, has the real vibe of an Italian enoteca. Great ambience and music, good choice of wines, either by the bottle of an array in the chilled cabinet to sample by the glass, just get your card, top it up with some money and away you go! The best and most surprising bit about Sip though is the food...sensational tapas style plates, platters and desserts. I could sit in there all day grazing, sipping, chatting, relaxing!!

Amazing selection of wines to try for all price ranges. Such a fun experience. Staff were all so helpful too. We got the veggie platter board which was amazing.

Wonderful little bar, great wines and lovely staff.

Came here a couple of months ago. The food is amazing. I had the ox cheeks slow cooked in a braised sauce and they were phenomenal from the sticky sauce to the fall apart, tender beef. The wine was great. Basically, the place is decked out like it's your private cellar, surrounding you with walls of wine. Have a sit down, pick a bottle and settle in with your wine of choice and share plates. Then do it all again. Cause after the first round you'll feel like it and I'm sure you'll love it again and again. Cheers.

Lovely place with great wine selection

First visit love the fact that you can try a small medium or large glass of wine, novelty factor great too as you load a card with money & it's self serve wine - what could be better! Food looked lovely too!

The wine machine can look a bit daunting at first glance, but we were saved by the very helpful and knowledgeable staff. Once we were all setup with a prepaid card we sat out on the streets use terrace and enjoyed some lovely wines in a relaxed mature venue.

Fantastic bar with a great look and feel with staff who are lovely and very helpful. The core concept of picking and choosing your wine from the cabinets in outages you to try new things and isn't just a novelty it's a great feature.
