brilliant chips absolute stunner!!!

Chicken noodle soup tasteless, chicken ginger spring onion, large tough pieces of chicken totally bland did not see any spring onion, waste of 17 pound and only accept cash couldn’t even get flat number right despite emphasising twice, never again

I asked thrm to make me a duck curry for my wife. It wasn't on the menu. It was delicious. Most flavourful sauce I've tasted from a takeaway in ages

I can honestly say this is the best Chinese I’ve ever had! Travel al over the UK and nothing is as good as this 😋

Just received carry out , salt and pepper ribs were dry, quite probably yesterday's reheats, prawn toast ok. But chicken fried rice truly awful. Nothing chinese about it seemed to be smothered in some kind of barbecue sauce. The curry sauce not only didn't go with the barbecue sauce but was hugely over salted. Neither my husband or I could eat it. Definitely would not have again and would highly recommend you stay away. Truly awful 😖

Portion sizes are very small, compared with other takeaways, taste wasn't very good, Avoid, better places to go in the area

You click pay by card but they want cash when they arrive.

You click on pay by card and then they ask for cash. This is the third time so won’t be using them again. Which’s a shame. Called but not interested in sorting

2 of us sitting here eating a curry without rice. We ordered curries with fried rice, woman didnt tip our order properly after ordering by phone. Got home and noticed we only had one rice portion between 3 of us. The chpice was either to spend 30 mins going back to collect it then eat a cold curry….or just eat the curry without. Disappointing to say the least

Get a meal here every weekend and it’s great service, price, quality & reliable. Always collect and the food is ready in 15mins,even during busy times. Wouldn’t order from anyone else.

Last time I use this takeaway. Takes too long for delivery and salt n pepper wings looked 100% reheats from previous night. Only use them as I don't keep cash on me and it is convenient to pay online. Sorry guys but you have to up your game now to keep your customers. Pleasant enough staff but food is a no no. Wishing you all the best!

Feel like this place has lost motivation to supply a good meal. Lost all faith in them! My favourite munchie box has been a disaster the last few times. Way over cooked! The chips were non existent and almost burnt.

inconsistent. had a few meals here, mostly not bad. this evening, dry chow mein and vegetable spring rolls without the slightest hint of a vegetable, just rock hard pastry on the outside and soggy pastry on the inside. disappointing. probably lost a customer.

I am very disappointed with their service and customer service approach as i received over cooked food and asked to bring it back to be approached by a aggressive and unprofessional member of staff who was not helpful or genuine.

Non greasy, lots of flavour. Will get again

A bit hit or miss unfortunately. Last month we had a large meal, a variety of dishes from across the menu. Everything was very good. Tasty dishes, good portions, and an extra couple of items as the order was over £40. Only 20 mins from order to bagged. However, our latest meal was very poor by comparison. Ordered similar items, so we had a good idea of what to expect. Squid, prawn toast, chips and even the crackers were all overcooked. Also, items missing from the order, but to be fair, they sent them out when we called. We know they can do a lot better, so I'm not sure how our recent meal was sub par. If they were a bit more consistent with quality of food, I'd happily give them 5 stars. Our regular first choice Chinese takeaway is nearing the end of a refurbishment, so I think we will be going back there for our next takeaway meal.

Talking strictly about the food; easily the most disappointing takeaway I've had in recent memory. Chicken "Cantonese" style was a single very dry sliced chicken breast drowned in a weak soy sauce for £5.20. The rest of the food was comparable to supermarket Chinese (so slightly better than the chicken). At least they didn't get the prawn crackers wrong.

Portion size was huge for the price!

This is my favourite Chinese takeaway in Bearsden. The food is always freshly made and tasty. I've never found the delivery driver to be anything other than polite and courteous, not to mention how good a driver he is. Unlike some of the local postal staff who's service is rude, with packages left all over the place and notes taken out of birthday cards (I've asked people to stop sending them) Anyway I digress. Thankfully our local Chinese takeaway The Lantern is a beacon of light in our area and can be relied upon. The wife and kids are usually up at the window waiting for his red car to safely park up and excitedly run to the door to greet the man who will bring us our Chinese feast. They call him Uncle. I haven't the heart to tell them yet, perhaps when they're old enough to understand that their real uncle never visits us. Anyway, would recommend this place (5 stars doesn't do it justice) and not listen to other reviews. They sound made up!

Good for many dishes, lemon chicken was just mush, maybe my fault, should have asked them to ensure sauce was in separate container the way it's normally served in other Chinese takeaway restaurants

Chicken curry was very good indeed. Hot and sour soup was harsh tasting. Char Siu was dry and the meat was tough. We binned it and shared the curry.

We have struggled to find a good Chinese since we moved to bearsden from the westend. After having tried several in the area we have concluded this is our favourite. We have never had a bad meal from here ( we get a Chinese once a week). We have adapted several of our meals and the staff have been very accommodating. I think delivery can take quite a while ( we always collect apart from once and to be fair it was the sat before xmas so I imagine they were extremely busy) looking forward to many more takeaways from here

If it was not for the delivery driver, I would no longer be a customer. For the 2nd time they forgot my soft drinks. But the driver from his own pocket went to shops and bought them for me. Thank u for your kindness.

I've used the Silver Lantern for some time now and normally the food standard is fairly high, but tonight's meal was not edible. The salt and pepper chicken was undercooked and the onion rings greasy and went straight in the bin.

Food was of a high standard and would definitely recommend the spring rolls 👌🏼

Food was a bit cold.... it was early and delivery was great. But it definitely wasn’t hot by the time we put it on plates. Tasted amazing after it got the good news from the microwave!

Sorry but Wouldn't recommend this takeaway to anyone. Satay had no taste of peanut whatsoever and beef was tougher than shoe leather. Sauce for sweet and sour wasn't much better than water, though salt and chilli chips were nice. Order was short of rice on delivery tho this was sorted fairly quickly though we were asked to pay extra delivery !!! A very expensive bag for the recycling bin as this was all its fit for.

Our food was delivered late however the restaurant did phone to apologise and let us know it would be with us soon. Our food was fresh, hot and tasty and we thoroughly enjoyed it. Would certainly order again!

BBQ sauce on the ribs was very thick and did not taste much like bbq sauce. Very heavy handed with the ginger in the kung po sace, it was all I could taste. The food was well cooked and very hot on arrival though.

The food is usually great from here but my "crispy duck" was anything but crispy tonight. I was disappointed with this dish but the others were of the usually high standard

We heard the silver lantern had new owner's and have it a try,we got a set meal for the family,The food was amazing so much better under the new management ,Congrats to the chef he's certainly upped the game,The lady on the phone was very helpful ,Our order came within the 35 minutes we were told delivered hot.All in all we would highly recommend this place . great prices and amazing food.we will return.

Have ordered where many times but the last twice I ha e ordered including tonight i must say I'm very disappointed chicken curry fried rice and the chips were so greasy the chips were literally soaked with oil not sure if they had been out in the feyee before oil was up to temperature waited over an hour for delivery and food wasn't too warm either not sure if I can give you another chance which is disappointing as Ive used this place for years new owners need to pull there socks up

Ordered a Saturday night takeaway from here after recently moving to the area. We order spring rolls and a chicken satay with rice and beansprouts to share. The spring rolls were too large and very greasy and had absolutely no flavour at all! The beansprouts tasted like they had come out of a can and again had absolutely no flavour! The chicken itself was cremated and we could hardly cut through it! How a "so called " chef could send this out was beyond me! All of it ended up in the bin and a complete waste of money. Very annoying!!!
