Silly Sausage in Nottingham

Inadvertently the person on the till had undercharged for our order. We then had to change the order because no marmalade was available. The assistant sought support from Julie to work out the difference in cost. When I began to offer an explanation as to what had happened, Julie rudely interrupted, dismissing what I had to say. She continued assertively, seemingly to inform me of what I already knew. Having had a career in the customer service industry for over 40 years, including service to royalty and celebrities, I have to say that this is the rudest encounter I've ever faced. There was no remorse and seemingly no sense of self awareness. I would not recommend this establishment to anyone expecting courtesy.

Not the best place I have visited

First time here and so glad I found it. Great cafe, much better than others around that I have tried. Great coffee, great omelette and chips, paninis and cakes. Very good prices as well with lovely, friendly staff. What more do you want? Will definitely return.

Popped in here after completing a job and, am so glad I did ! I asked for Sausage Chips and Beans - made and brought out fast with a very friendly staff bringing out condiments for me. Nice atmosphere to eat in, a old style cafe environment that am very pleased I found the "Silly Sausage Cafe" as filling and better value than the national fast food joints that are soulless IMHO. I will deffo visit again 😀

Great cafe offering simple yet delicious food options. Visited before a trip to Trent bridge cricket ground and was only a few mins detour so would be great before football or cricket matches. Helpful staff and an interesting old building

This cafe does a good proper traditional cooked english breakfast, a small was large enough me! Nice setting, plenty of seating.

Tasty food, good prices, friendly staff. I ordered a small breakfast, but the portion was a decent size. Very good coffee. The interior looks like you've stepped back in time 30 years, but there doesn't seem to be anything wrong with that.

Went here the other day, the staff was very friendly and the price for food was good. But it has to be one of the worst cobs ive had for a while, the cob was dry and stale like it’s been out for a while, the sausages were tasteless which I assume very cheap ones and bacon was so undercooked the pig was still alive. Won’t be coming again

Saturday 18th November 2023 We visited the great Nottingham greasy spoons 5 minutes from Notts County football ground This cafe is everything a cafe should be full of local people from all walks of life thoroughly enjoying well cooked food This 2 roomed place has got a great organised staff and a well clean kitchen and eating areas This place must be one of the best cafes in Nottingham

Very poor experience. 3 item cob tasteless, I would rather have stayed hungry than eat this. Luke warm food but freshly served. Very disappointed.

Visited last Saturday and had the best cheese omelette I’ve tried at a caf + yummy hash browns (think they’re home made?). Lovely ladies working there. My Dad wanted to buy a silly sausage mug and they kindly offered us one for free. Reasonable prices, friendly staff + good grub. Highly recommend.

Nice little cafe not far from Notts County football ground. Plenty of seating and hot and cold food available. Good fried breakfast and pleasant friendly staff. Well worth visiting.

SILLY SAUSAGE CAFE is situated within the CATTLE MARKET. The staff are very friendly. The breakfast is lovely, I would recommend it to everyone. I would recommend that: If you are driving from LONDON ROAD do not gain access to the CATTLE MARKET through the first entrance on MEADOW LANE ( the surface and giant holes are horrendous), but travel around the outside of the CATTLE MARKET towards DALESIDE ROAD and take the second entry gate. If you are travelling from DALESIDE ROAD, enter the CATTLE MARKET through the gate on the right hand. You will find the SILLY SAUSAGE CAFE at the end of the road. JUST PARK UP AND ENTER THE SILLY SAUSAGE CAFE, AND ENJOY YOUR MARVELOUS BREAKFAST.

I asked one of the staff if they could clean my table before I ate my breakfast which seemed to offend her, she became awkward no way to treat customers ,beans cold,tomatoes lukewarm, cobwebs and mould on the walls,,will not be going back

Good home style cooking and good value for money. Gets busy at certain times of the morning and so staff rushed off their feet. Friendly staff who can feed the greediest of trencherman.

Not bad for a cafe. My black pudding was a bit undercooked but they were busy so I didn't complain. Friendly staff.

Trabaja a la vuelta de la esquina desde aquí. Fácil de colocar para una mazorca de Cupa / tocino u otro. Pequeño pero está bien. Lo mejor es que recuerdan caras que son agradables, entras y saben lo que quieres, eso es si siempre tienes tu favorito. Está en el Old Cattle Marlet, que desafortunadamente tuvo un incendio masivo y un montón de locales en ruinas. Pero el café estaba intacto, así que la comida / bebida como de costumbre. Abre temprano así que disfruta.

A hidden gem in the cattle market near Meadow Lane stadium. I recommend the large breakfast. Quality food, reasonable prices and refillable tea. Heavenly
