Silla Korean Restaurant in Glasgow City

One of my favourite restaurants in Glasgow. It's consistently outstanding. The stone pot bibimbap is incredible. Great options for sides (homemade kimchi and Korean fried chicken) and Korean soft drinks.

We came here for an early dinner before a concert at the nearby Ovo hydro. The food was delicious and we enjoyed the free appetisers (sweet potato in a sauce and beansprouts). Unfortunately what let it down was not having our plates cleared away, despite asking for the bill and we’re still not sure if they have a dessert menu! I’d recommend trying here if you’re a fan of Korean food.

A must-try Korean food in glasgow imo. I personally love the stir fry belky pork. But the fried chicken is not as good as before I think.

Had a fabulous meal , this was our first time and we will be back , the waitress Ahjin made fabulous recommendations which we all enjoyed , she was so lovely and very helpful .. thank you

I have never seen a product labeled "beef soup" without any "soup" in it, and another one was like selling leftover food from someone else's meal in a box to take-out customers. The crispy skin of the fried chicken was already black, just like the appearance of something that had been sitting there for a long time. The texture of meat is very old, like I am eat wood. It was a ridiculous and disappointing meal that made me angry.

Beyond expectation. This is what I would eat every evening if I could come every day as it's so delicious and healthy. Much of the menu contains pork, which I do not eat but, I would like to try every other thing on the menu. Preferably, right now.

This is hands down the best Korean restaurant in Glasgow! I'm a huge fan of their jajangmyeon, it tastes very authentic <3

We came here while moving our daughter into university and it was perfect. The food was authentic and delicious. The waitress was so friendly and welcoming. Amazing service and food, must go here!

A very busy place and therefore quite noisy but where the service is fast and the staff pleasant. I ordered a really good sea food dish. It is considered spicy with 1🌶️ but if you are not used to spicy or very sensitive dishes I do not recommend it! Be careful, it’s also really hot! PS: I didn't know but "seafood" = seafood so there are mussels!

When I walk into a restaurant nvcna there people sorting earing. I didn't expect to get told the restaurant is closed.. Seems a little strange that you would serve onky serve certain people. disappointed

Wonderful!!! This tiny corner restaurant is larger than it appears at first, with a second dining level. Dishes are clearly described and rated for spice level and authenticity. Flavors were bright, portions were just right..

Hands down best Korean food in Glasgow for us for a very very long. Not that we haven't tried Korean in other places but not found any other place that matches the taste and authenticity of this place. There are different variations of Fried Chicken in the menu besides your standard KFC style Korean Fried Chicken. There is one with almond flakes 😋 and boy that is always our favourite... The Kimchi Fried Rice is also something we order every time and the Korean Pancakes!

The staff is so friendly and the food is so delicious~~!! The same taste you get in Korea!! I was impressed because the side dishes were really delicious and the price was reasonable. The price was reasonable for Korean food eaten abroad.. 👍👍

This was my first time ever eating in a Korean restaurant. What a fantastic experience from start to finish. Korean food is now on my wish list thanks to Silla. Excellent food, service and reasonably priced. Thank you 👏

Female boss is very aggressive and just rebuking the staff. it’s a very poor atmosphere.

Very hard to put into words my experience here at Silla - in a great way! After trying everywhere else on Argyle Street to be told they were full, I walked past Silla with a glance into the window and see what looked like some of the best Korean food I’ve seen and made the last minute decision to try and get a table. I am so glad I did. I was quickly seated by a very attentive member of staff. The service was top notch and for a first experience I cannot praise the staff enough. I opted for the beef dol sot bibimbap and I have to say it’s by far one of the best things I have ever had in 23 years on this planet. Everything was flavoursome and you can tell that the chef’s have put great effort into their work. I highly recommend Silla to anyone passing through Glasgow. P.S. if I could grant an extra star for providing cutlery alongside chopsticks I would. Fantastic show.

Really enjoyed the meal I had here! The staff were top notch and the food was great! The sauce that was on my noodles was rather rich for me but good nevertheless!

The previous dining experiences were very good, but the fried chicken legs I ordered today were very unpalatable. They were fried in advance and then reheated. The fried chicken skin was very hard and the chicken was very dry, making it difficult to eat. I asked the waiter to change the order, but the problem was still the same, and the second order was served in less than five minutes. Normally, freshly made fried chicken legs take at least 20 minutes to deep-fry, which means that the fried chicken legs provided to us by the restaurant were prepared in advance. Prefabricated.

The food was great, service was a bit slow but it was really busy when we went. Would definitely go back.

Great Korean food, definitely Try the spicy pork with mixed vegetables (#36) As well as the seafood Scallion pancakes. The miso soup was also excellent.

I am writing to express my deep disappointment with the service I have recently experienced at your establishment. My previous visit was marred by the unpleasant demeanor and rude attitude of a female staff member. Despite this, my fondness for Korean cuisine led me to hope that this was an isolated incident, and I decided to give your restaurant another chance today. Regrettably, today’s experience only compounded my dissatisfaction. Upon arrival, we were seated by the window. However, as someone with a severe sensitivity to sunlight, the bright light made me feel dizzy and unable to read the menu clearly. I requested to be moved to an interior table. A male waiter informed us that the only available tables were four-person tables, which they do not split to accommodate fewer diners. I suggested that he separate the table into two two-person tables. He said he would check with his superior, and the same female staff member from my previous visit returned. She told us we could sit there but would have to move back to the window if another party arrived, as their four-person tables are reserved strictly for groups of four. I expressed that since we arrived first, we should be allowed to finish our meal before they rearrange the table for a larger group. She reiterated that their policy prohibits seating two people at a table that can be divided for four, showing a rigid adherence to policy without consideration for the customer’s comfort or flexibility in service. This lack of adaptability and disregard for customer needs left me extremely frustrated and upset. Such inflexible and unaccommodating service is entirely unacceptable and has significantly marred my dining experience at Silla Korean Restaurant. I hope that you will address these service issues and take steps to ensure that all customers are treated with the respect and consideration the they deserve.

There isn't a restaurant in Glasgow that I am more in love with than this place. An absolute joy to eat at ♥️

Got a delivery, the amount charged for the food and the wait time was really poor. 2 hour wait, which was advise at the time but 6 quid for 5 dry chicken wings, 16 quid for Luke warm bland ribs that were really chewy tasted neither sweet or soy and just really underwhelming and the 9 quid kimchi pancakes were very greasy. The pancakes had good flavour. That's about all I can say that's positive. Partner got a bibimbap which they said was good but the best bit was the rice. Total order was £51 for 2 starters 2 mains.This is a 100% avoid for delivery.

We got there when it was quite busy, so the food took some time, but it was completely worth it. Great portions (especially for the price) and all dishes were served hot. Service was also great, everyone who worked there was really nice!

The squid tempura is too dry; the vegetable tempura only has onions, onions, peppers and other vegetables, but it is priced at 6.5 pounds (it must have at least eggplant and mushrooms to be reasonable) The overall food level is average, the portions are small, and expensive, not recommended. The service attitude is also not good and not very polite.

Probably the best Korean food I've ever had. Staff was very helpful. I found the place utterly charming.

Food is horrible. Extremely salty and full of MSG. Waiter and waitress are always in rush. Even I have not finished the dishes but they are already tidying up my table. Waitress and waiter are always mumbling. I have no idea what they said. Also they are not willing to help. Also I see that when their cutlery fall on the floor, they have not clean it again. just put it back to the storage and the dirty cutlery just mix up with the clean cutlery. I seriously think that will cause contaminate of gem. Floor and table is sticky. After these thing, I think i have a horrible night in this restaurant

Hey, you gotta try this Korean restaurant in Glasgow. Their Gun man du dumplings are bomb. The Sam gyeop sal and Je yuk Bokkeum are also must-tries. And the staff there are super friendly and know their stuff.

Best jjampong and jjajangmyeon I’ve had, even compared to those I had in Korea! All of the seasonings and broth are thick and very flavorful. Jjampong has wok hay, so very smokey. Ordered all seafood ones, seafood are fresh and cooked perfectly, not tough at all. Very recommended!!!!!!!!

The only one genuine Korean restaurant in Glasgow. We are a Korean family living in Glasgow over 10 years. Silla never has disappointed us. It is our favorite place to enjoy Korean cuisines.

Food was great the portions was good. However, the ricecakes were just a little bit sweet for my liking. Aside from that everything was good!

This restaurant is too small and the restaurant is very unclean. On top of that the waitresses are very bad and you are not allowed to bring your own drinks, even if you don't drink. When you pass by tesco and buy some drinks, you can't eat at his place it's just heartbreaking.

Authentic Korean food done well at a good price. Even the imported booze is pretty reasonable considering. I keep going back here because everything is tasty. Service can be a little slow when it's busy because they really pack in the tables, but other than that it's good. I cannot recommend this place enough.

Second visit to this restaurant. Staff as friendly and helpful as usual, they're willing to help out with my allergic requirements. Food is amazing, just a bit too spicy for me today.

Never go with your precious friends, colleagues, and guests. I didn't want to make complaint in front of my friends, but I was humiliated that this is one of the best Korean restaurants in Glasgow. The last dish came 40 minutes after the first dish. Overcooked beef ribs were voluntarily remade, but I don't understand why they were presenting the ruined dish to customers. Worst of all, they yelled at and scolded the staff in front of the customers.

이번 연말연시에 글래스고를 중심으로 12일동안 그 주변 여러곳을 다녔는데 한국음식을 신라에서 3번 먹어보았어요. 남편이 한식파여서 한식은 필수였는데, 정통한식을 먹을 수 있는 집은 이곳이라고 들었어요. 갈때마다 다른분들과 같이 가다보니 미처사진을 못찍어 아쉽네요. 덕분에 여러가지 음식을 먹게 되었는데, 외국에서 이 정도의 한식을 먹기 쉽지 않다고 봐요. 해물파인 남편은 굴짬뽕과 해물탕을 정말 맛있게 먹었고, 저는 돌솥 비빔밥과 된장찌게, 특히 매운삼겹살이 유럽음식에 지친 입맛을 위로해주었어요. 정통 한국음식을 원하면 꼭 가세요. 사장님도 한국분이세요.

Walked by this place for 10 years now. Always busy. Last night we thought let's give it a try. WOW what can I say, food was amazing, I eat out a lot in some fancy places but this place was amazing. Not posh, always busy and now I know why. We had number 33 and 73 ( old school LOL) was not sure what the round tubes in my chicken dish was, turns out it's rice cakes, new to me and very very tasty. Excellent value for money and very good. Go on try it,you will not be disappointed. Ps we are going back tonight as its only a 5 min walk form the flat.

I am obsessed with this restaurant! Definitely my new go-to place whenever I am craving korean food. I am leaving review after going there twice and it did not disappoint. The korean fried chicken was amazing and crunchy, the hot bibimbap was mouthwatering and the rice was crispy in the bottom and the noodles with black bean sauce superb. The pork dumplings were really good and had a nice crunch to it. Everything is just absolutely delicious. I can’t wait to go again.

Amazing food, generous portion of Korean fried chicken. I also loved my sundubu jiggae - came to the table so hot it burned my tongue exactly how it should be. Banchan are delicious too. We had 2 alcoholic drinks each and it came to £30 per person so price is very reasonable

The restaurant is small but busy, the food portion is big but the taste is average. The service is relatively poor.

Great price quality ratio with fast service. Be careful with spicy dishes though but they are written on the menue.

This is my first time trying Korean food in Glasgow. Very bad experience. The waiting time was too long, at least 30 minutes. Everything is very spicy,I actually ate stones in the bibimbap (pictured)! Unbelievable the clerk did nothing! will not go a second time

This is easily the best Korean food in Glasgow. I’m a regular 😍 Deonjang jjigae and bibimbap are my favourite but also recommend buddae jjigae(don’t let the beans put u off) and tteok bokki. Yum! I don’t eat meat on the bone but my daughters love the kfc too. One is extremely fussy aswell and still likes it 👍🏻

Dreadful meal. Warm beers. Cold food. Long wait. Nothing positive to say. When raised on exit we were given attitude. Would recommend not eating here.

What a fantastic and lovely place to eat authentic Korean food. Had an absolutely fabulous evening meal with my friend. If you love spicy 🔥 food - this is the place to go, all the seafood I have had was lovely and fresh. Highly recommended

给这家店非常非常非常差的差评。尤其是店里的女经理，态度非常恶劣，不排除有种族歧视的嫌疑！ 当时和女朋友去吃饭，点了很多东西，有个石锅饭基本没动过，想要店员帮忙打包，给店员说了要打包后，店员说了ok然后直接拿去后厨了。我们以为会打包好拿给我们，结果等了一会还没拿过来。然后去问了另外一个店员，她说去确认一下，期间听到店员收银台在争论，我们当时就猜测是那个员工把食物已经处理扔掉了，我女朋友还担心那个店员因为这个被骂。结果一会来了个 个子不高的女员工，很明显是亚裔，上来就态度很差地告诉我们“没有办法重做一份给你们，也没有办法给你们打折”。然后态度很差地持续输出，说我们店员没有听到你们说要打包。还说你们没有去过餐厅吗？不知道餐厅的文化吗？不知道餐厅的规定是不会帮你们打包食物的。你把食物给店员就是让店员收拾掉的意思。第一时间听到这个我们很震惊，我们只不过是询问打包的情况怎么样了，被这种非常令人不爽的态度给恶心到了。那个女的（后来要求见他们经理才知道她就是经理）一口咬定店员没有听到我们要打包的要求。后面只说只愿意提供免费的饮料作为补偿。最后看着那女经理的死样子真下头，也不稀罕那俩破饮料，不想看着那臭脸。劝大家不要花钱买气受！

A stunning korean cuisine experience ...it was exquisite ! BRAVO !

I had been recommended to try Silla by a colleague and we just happened to walk past whilst struggling to find somewhere we wanted to eat in Finnieston. Whilst the food was okay, I found it a bit bland compared to previous Korean meals we'd had at Seoul Korean BBQ in the city centre. All the food was edible, but really could have done with more flavour and spice. The Kimchi side dish was lovely, the servers seemed run off their feet, we all finished our food but likely wouldn't go back. It was one of my sister's first time eating Korean food and she now says that she won't try Korean again.

First time trying Korean food properly, had a go at home but not the same. This was amazing, food delicious, service spot on. We'll be back

Can’t stop loving this little street style corner restaurant in the heart of Finnieston. The menu is absolutely great and the food is an exploration and explosion of fragrances and spices and literally food wow. On a rainy day like today the spicy beef soup and the pork belly were simply what I needed. Must try!

Jjamppong 10 out of 10, 100 percent recommended Jjajangmyeon was so far the closest to the authenticity Dumpling though was not up to expectations 짜장면 짬뽕 돌솥비빔밥 추천합니다 :)

The chef rip me off by not given me not lot of food for my money I was still Hungry after I eat my food There was too stingy.

Menu a bit misleading... Ordered Bu dae jjigae from here. In the description of the menu in restaurant, it mentions that it includes pork. I expected it to be sliced pork loin or similar. Instead, it was just bacon, luncheon meat (not even Spam) and frankfurters with Ramen. The soup was decent, can taste it's made in house. Later looked back at menu online, it does mention Spam, but it doesn't mention it in restaurant menu (otherwise I wouldn't have ordered it). I probably just ordered the wrong dish, as other dishes do look amazing, service also very pleasant, 5/5 for that. Just let down by the Bu dae jjigae

My go to place for authentic and delicious korean food in Glasgow. I have tried their Sundubu Jjigae, Kimchi jjigae and their jeyuk bokkeum and all have been delicious They also have traditional shikye which is beautiful to have in summers!

Basic decor and small interior doesn't detract from the excellent food served at a very reasonable price. If you want fine dining, this won't be the place for you but if you want excellent food and don't mind the decor then you're in for a treat.

This place is so good! We had bulgogi, sam gyeop sal, hamul pajeon, and kimchi. We'd never had sam gyeop sal and our server made sure to show us how to wrap it, which was so nice! Definitely want to come back and eat here again, it's very worth it.

My partner and I have visited here twice, once on a whim and then on an arranged date. Both times, the food was excellent, the service was attentive without being too much and the atmosphere was nice, intimate and comfortable. Highly recommend the bibimbap and fried chicken.

Just what i was after. Simple, tasty reasonably priced food. I had Bibimbap and a side of homemade kimchi. All great. Nice complementary starters of picked bean shoots and soy potato cubes. No pressure from staff, great busy atmosphere. Will come again
