Garlic and Thyme in Glasgow City

Had a really positive experience eating here last minute. Very welcoming, and knowledgeable about gluten free items. They also had a wide variety of dishes they could make gluten free, pasta, and pizza and more but I can't remember! Such a change from typical gluten free eating. Everyone was just lovely and friendly 😊. Also, 100% the best gluten free pizza base I've had in ages. My friend who works close by said it's also a brilliant pace to get a quick and tasty lunch. Little bit sad I don't live closer as this would be a great place to have near by. Thankyou guys.

What a hidden gem! Staff are super nice and friendly. Food is very affordable and decent. We ordered a soup of the day (potato & leek) and a BLT sandwich. They came in a bigger portion. Didn’t expect the soup to be runny tho. It came with sour dough and it was really nice. Will definitely come here again.

Excellent find. Visited for dinner. Lots of choice on the menu and very family-friendly. There are plenty of vegetarian options. Restaurant feels very spacious and is wheel chair accessible. It is also tastefully decorated with artwork gracing the walls, soundtrack also complementing the vibe. The server is very friendly, and nothing is an issue. Decent portions and, most importantly, great tasting food. Wine is keenly priced. It's definitely worth a visit.

First time I have visited this place and most definitely will be back. My wife and I went for breakfast. I had avacado and eggs on Italian bread and my wife had a small breakfast. The staff were very friendly and attentive. Thank you.

Brilliant cafe! Unexpected due to location but beautifully decorated, great service and amazing food.

This used to be a 5 star review but the last 4 times I've been there, they've gotten my order wrong and the price changes on a whim. Sometimes I pay £10 pounds sometimes I pay £18 for the exact same order. I'm just fed up getting the wrong order every single time. Plus the last time we were there one of owners was looking at every customer like he wanted to murder them. He was super rude and although other staff members apologised for his absolutely disgusting behaviour, it doesn't make it any less uncomfortable. I'm afraid I'm done with this place which is a shame but it's just too much hassle to have double check everything then wait another 30 minutes for it to be remade.

Last minute decision to have a break at lunch, had soup and a sandwich and was lovely. Lovely atmosphere really relaxing which was what I needed. One person serving didn't catch her name, think she was Polish, lovely waitress and really friendly. Wee find this place

This restaraunt is one of Glasgows' hidden gems situated a stones throw from Bridgeton Cross and serving the best quality food prepared and cooked by masterful chefs. Their Menu is quite extensive and waiting time minimal for the excellent quality in every meal. The Restaraunt is clean and modern. An oasis of colour and cuisine.

Hands down the best breakfast I've had in a long time. Ingredients were quality, portion was brilliant and loved that the beans and toast were kept separate.

We went mainly because we had seen that it was dog friendly, but the food was brilliant too! Close enought to Glasgow Green for you to park their, walk the dog round the park, then walk out to the restaurant. We went at lunch time, I ordered a pizza expecting a small thing but it was huge and really, really nice. Staff were so attentive and fortunately the could provide a box to take what I couldn't manage home, so it did for my dinner too! Will definitely be back

Rated this place very highly before but yesterday they're standards slipped. Wated 40 minutes for very simple food... Had to ask for items we had already ordered... When the food came it was tasteless. Won't be back for a while... If at all

Went along with the Mrs n weans, had a great time the place is nice the staff were great, great food with good size portions, great service and not too expensive. The cakes, Wow. I was a regular customer at this place and brought family and friends until recently. The service has been a complete disaster on the last two occasions. I ended up walking out both times. Completely ignored by the waiting staff, made to feel like an inconvenience for asking for a menu. Told we’d be attended to only for the waitress to spend 10 minutes dealing with walk-in customers and avoiding eye contact with us. They were relatively quiet when I first started going and it seems they haven’t been able to keep up with demand. Food - Can be a hit or a miss. Incomplete orders. Breakfast is a disaster as often given a meal that does not resemble the menu description. Sadly I’ve given this place its final chance and I won’t return now. Needs to be appropriately staffed, kitchen staff trained on what the menu actually says and a huge improvement in staff attitude is needed. AVOID

What a great pity that this gorgeous place did not get a mere muffin and coffee or cappuccino right. Walking in you think... oh yummy... but then they don't have soya milk. You take oat although it is not quite the same. The coffee is an excellent blend but the oat milk let's it down. You then ask for a snack and the lass hesitates... I say muffin... and she says ..let me check the fridge... and that is exactly what I get... a stodgy blueberry muffin out of the fridge unto my plate... pity. But, I persevere, ask a gentleman with a lovely accent for 2 sec in the microwave and some cream. Sadly, my muffin is still not the freshest. Come on people!! You have this excellent venue .. treat it well... you have the best coffee blend... use it well. I walk away disappointed but I'll be back and give you another whirl.xx

Went here for a quick lunch on friday 3rd november with my partner and we both left extremely disappointed by the entire experience, first of all the waiter seemed to not be able to hide the fact that us even being there was a massive burden to him leaving us feeling uncomfortable and like we should be sorry for even being there lol!! But we decided to ignore it until our food came. we ordered drinks and asked for a latte and a peppermint tea with two glasses of water and he brought the hot drinks and two bottles of water to which my partner politely said we just wanted tap water, so the waiter sharply took the bottled water away then never brought us any tap water and told us we need to sit somewhere else as where we were sitting wasnt allowed (no sign to say that it wasnt) so we moved and ordered our food. I ordered a chicken Caesar salad to which the waiter said they were out of caesar dressing but had garlic mayo/oil which i said was ok giving him the benefit of the doubt and my partner ordered a salt and rosemary focaccia, when our food came we were extremely disappointed, first of all my partners meal looked more like a burnt garlic pizza bread than anything like focaccia and secondly my chicken caesar salad was just a dry mixed salad with tomatoes onions, and cold chicken and didn't even have any garlic oil dressing to replace the caesar dressing, parmesan or croutons and considering some of the food i have seen posted on here that has been served looks immaculately presented, this was an ugly mess and not what we ordered. We both did not touch our food and my partner even sent it back as it was not what he was expecting (rightly) and i just decided to pay for mine and take it home in a box which i ended up regretting as im looking at it now and i dont even want to eat it but it was around £11 just for the salad! i feel annoyed for wasting my money on this and disappointed on a wasted lunch and we wont be back.

This is a great place to eat, with the option of sitting in or taking away. It's so local and handy to get to if you live/work in the Eastend. The menu has a lot of delicious options and they always have deals on. I would highly recommend trying this place, whether it's just for a coffee and cake or a meal.

Only 1 star because had to give 1 to write review. Just left this place after watching a dog licking cutlery tray on shelf also staff touching dog then bringing food out , none of staff washed hands after touching dog, asked to speak to manager still did not come to us after 2 attempts. Left the building definitely won't be back

Pizza undercooked, pasta sauce was like water.

Find this place and eat here. Loved the smoked salmon salad for lunch. Tasty and beautifully presented. On the down side only two beers on tap, and only the house red wine available by the glass. Beer just ok, wine good. Go for the food.

The food is good, decent portions but the service is poor. When the boss man is in, everything runs smoothly. But my last 3 visits haven’t been good, when he’s not there. Past three visits summed up: The high chairs are always dirty. A server approached us after I cleaned it with my own sanitary bag to say that I didn’t need to do that, so I showed her the whole pieces of food I removed! Not crumbs, actual pieces of pasta and dried in sauce! Every. Time. The servers rarely approach the tables, we waited 15 minutes (when we were the only table) to get asked about drinks. These then didn’t arrive till the main course came and we reminded her. Meat was forgotten to be added to some dishes (but we were still charged for them till I complained). Two main courses were forgotten, turns out they didn’t have any steak pie but instead of letting us know, they just didn’t serve us any dish! The desserts are mainly from Costco as well, nothing wrong with that, but don’t tell me that they were freshly baked this morning. It’s a shame, cause the food is actually decent and I would like to support this small business but you feel like an inconvenience at times! The group of Italian men who used to run it previously were great, but things have really went downhill.

The disappointment that the head waiter sent wine and cocktails to our table that we did not order. When I asked for the bill we were charged for these so I questioned it. The head waiter who was on the till agreed to take them off the bill. However then gave me a new bill which charged a higher price than he said for the wine. Again I questioned this and he said I was wrong. He agreed to change the price to what he originally said. He issued a 3rd bill but added 2 beers which I did not order. I challenged him again and asked to speak to the manager. The head waiter stepped a side and another person took the till. I asked if he was the manager and he said one of them. I asked to speak to him and he said OK and issued me with the new bill which was also incorrect. I asked what the extra charge was for and he said the till must have done that itself. Again after 4 inaccurate bills I challenged it and asked to speak to the manager. I waited and another person approached me, he told me his name was John and he was one of the managers. I explained what had happened and my background as a customer service manager. John listened to me and said I had received good service, which initially we had. However I explained the head waiter had sent unordered drinks to our table and the charged us or them. He also got the bill wrong 3 tome and the manager got it wrong on the 4th occasion. At this point the head waiter barged in and started acussing me of lying. I told him he was making me as a customer feel uncomfortable and asked the manager to tell him to move away. Unfortunately he did not so I had to leave. As I left the head waiter again approached me. I felt really threatened and uncomfortable. As someone who has worked as customer service manager for a number of years, I underst that mistakes can be made. However 4 times is incompetence, possibly deliberately trying to over charged customers. In terms of the Manager, while he initially listen to me he made excuses on behalf of the head waiter. As for the head waiter his behaviour was totally unacceptable, over charging, arguing, lying and acting in a manner that makes paying customers feel uncomfortable. To highlight I paid a bill of over £100 which I have no problem with, but will not return due to the dishonesty of the head waiter and extremely poor customer service.

food was very greasy unfortunately. tasted alright, eggs Benedict doesn’t travel well but was okay besides this. The foccaccia wasn’t what I expected at all. . .

What a way to kick off our visit to this beautiful country! Gave them 5 stars across the board. 1. Food was fantastic and the portions were plentiful. 2. Service was outstanding! Truly nice people. 3. Atmosphere was light and open as we hoped it would be. We will keep coming back.

I had a bad experience today. The servant was very dirty, he might be someone's who is cooking or helping in the kitchen. Though he was polite and nice. The bread was moulded. I am not usually complain, but it was not a pleasant experiance.

Fantastic food great service and value for money x

Was in Monday 17 July 2023, with our Group & many of us were unhappy. First time after many visit has, Food, ServicAll in ae & Atmosphere been bad. The Fish ordered the batter was not nice. Fish was cold & was taken back, reheated, yuck. All in, not same staff, not same service, very disappointed indeed, afraid I won't return.

One of the very best lunches I've had in 40 years of eating out in Glasgow. There aren't many cafes or restaurants around the wonderful Glasgow Women's Library, and as vegetarians, my friend and I didn't know what to expect from Garlic and Thyme. The charming waiter, on hearing we were vegetarian, offered to make us some special bruschetta - cherry tomatoes and mushrooms - which were absolutely delicious, and I had their delicious crisp and ungreasy homemade onion rings. Portions were generous, service was warm and friendly, the food was fresh, nicely presented, and just delicious. The place itself is decorately with lots of artificial greenery and wicker lanterns, and is totally bonkers in a delightful way. I can't wait to go back.

I ordered with some allergy’s such as Tomatoes and advised no beans. Staff advised don’t read the notes so breakfast came covered in beans. Safe to say couldn’t eat but only way to fix was to order chips and suffice another £3.99 for a £5 breakfast. Didn’t bother in the end. Don’t recommend if got allergies. Waste of time. Now starving 😩 £15 for a cup of coffee. Fun times ✖️

Love this wee gem, hidden down a side street behind Bridgeton but well worth finding. Pizzas are consistently great quality, proper italian style. I don't bother with Deliveroo, I just ring up to collect a pizza order however many minutes later and it's ready exactly on time, piping hot. I wish them every success as they're a great addition to the east end.

I was there for breakfast. Friendly staff. Good service. Wheelchair accessible and the staff were very helpful. Coffee to die for. I had a second cup.

I'm sorry to write this, because I have visited this establishment and spoke with the chef and I know he has great pride in what he is delivering. But! And here is the but! I placed an order early on around 8:40? Didn't end up recieving this till about 10:20 or thereabouts. Driver issues, I get it, I'm a bit out of the way and most drivers will only pick this up if they have no easier means to make money I ordered a Scottish breakfast, the contents were tasty enough and not overly greasy ( I personally prefer mostly grilled or oven cooked where possible) but by the time I received this everything was stone cold. Now the driver was overly long in getting to me and everything was properly bagged, so all I can conclude is that this was left awaiting a driver and not stored on a hotplate or anywhere else that would have kept this hot. I also ordered what I thought was a focaccia with balsamic onions? The menu stated focaccia? And I selected balsamic onions. What I received was a box of balsamic onions, no focaccia and definitely not a bread with these cooked into it. I ordered a bruschetta, toppings were ok, bit of tomato garlic, and onion (not a traditional topping but I like onions in combination with the rest, possibly not Italian but anyhoo) all served on a piece of untoasted bread, which caused it to become a soft doey texture underneath. Personally I have never received a bruschetta on any bread without the bread being even lightly toasted. I'm not being a specific pain in the a... I'm easy to please. This was not upto the capability that I know you can produce.

I used to go here regularly to get lunchtime pasta and pizza but unfortunately due to receiving insufficient portion sizes on 2 occasions compared to previous occasions so I've decided to stop going. The food is good too, shame about the inconsistency. I recommended my parents to go here for food but now I told them about the situation. Both of them agreed that's just not acceptable. Hence the two stars. One star for the good food. One star for an otherwise okay service. This place has lost several customers now.

Got an order from here this morning 2 x full scottish breakfast , potato scone missing & when collected and returned home boxes put in the bags UPSIDeE down which causes everything to be broken and thrown about the box. Not worth the money they are charging. Also says " fresh fruit juice " yet juice is from concentrate so not fresh at all. Reallt disappointed as place looks nice to pass.

OMG!!! This place is amazing a little hiding gem in glasgow. I am one of those people who is hard to please when it comes to food, but I honestly can't fault the food in this place there was six of us and no one had anything bad to say the cocktails are excellent too, the prices are really good the icing on the cake is the staff in this place so pleasant and friendly this is my new favourite place to eat.

Get past the vehicle repair garages and industrial units behind Bridgeton Library and there's a gem of a restaurant in a spacious open plan building. Love the decor. Plenty of street parking. We had mussels with garlic sauce and seafood risotto. Mussels themselves were little small but the sauce was superb. Risotto only had prawns and looked a little like porridge but tasted good. Lemon cheesecake is to die for! It's local to us and we'll enjoy coming here often.

What an amazing find. Hidden away but it doesn't deserve to be hidden. The food is top notch (Macaroni cheese to die for), all expertly made. Staff are super friendly and helpful and the place itself? Amazing vibe, awash with colour, greenery, and customers! They also do takeaway. absolutely shocking. DO NOT ORDER FROM HERE. Ordered eggs Benedict came with no bacon. Also a ham salad sanwich cost 4.95 and was cheap bread cheap meat and horrible salad. I phoned and they said we cant send you correct order just have to tell just eat who say theyl refund you and never ever do. Was good when first opened now they are serving cramp AVOID AND DO NO WASTE YOUR MONEY

I’ve been here for breakfast lunch and dinner. All of it has been excellent! However on Saturday night we went as a large group for my sister’s birthday and my goodness did they deliver! Every course was beautiful , the service was a joy and the singer on the night was brilliant too! What a team! This place is a real hidden jem! Prices are superb value! Please do Christmas Day guys!! I just looove this place. Affordable and great taste and ambiance. Quite cozy place perfect for family and couples. I have been here on two occasions once for breakfast and the other for dinner. Ohh I love the chef. Best risotto I had in my life. Awesome bruschetta. Huge portions and Greta taste. Can’t recommend enough.

Very good value lunchtime specials. Nice refurbishment and decoration transformed it well from the Rogart St Cafe it was before. Art on walls can be purchased if something catches your eye.

1st time ordering from here and very impressed, carbonara, spaghetti Bolognese, skin on fries and a mushroom pizza were all 10/10 for us we got a free bruschetta as well which was a lovely offer and again thoroughly enjoyed 👌 food arrived piping hot and very fresh, I didn't know this place existed so really looking forward to trying out the sit in and breakfast menu too! Really can't fault it, no complaints from any of the food we got, spot on!

Got the carbonara, it was bland and the bacon was fatty/chewy. Not really all the appealing, plus got the wrong sides which didn't make it any better and experience.

Great food, great prices and amazing choices for gluten-free people

Very late, missing items. Ordered 2 soups, a sandwich and chips. Only 1 soup with a sandwich arrived. Contacted them directly and was told to get a refund and re-order the missing items, despite the double delivery charge I would incur. They did apologise but no effort to fix the issue. So dissapointing. Won't order again.

Hated pasta dish, King prawns and mussels with spaghetti in a spiced tomato sauce. There were 4 mussels still in shells, one of which was DEAD! The pasta, what there was of it was like was like a supermarket value range with bits stuck together and chewy. The spiced tomato sauce was spicy, but also included 3-4 sliced fresh chillies, I spent more time picking out the chillies than I did eating, extremely disappointed

Pre-booked Christmas lunch.we informed them we had two people who were wheelchair users treated like an inconvenience it was freezing waited an hour for our drink and starter the Xmas lunch tasted as though it came from Iceland down the road staff apologised short staffed would not recommend
