Came on a tuesday, pretty calm, food was good until I was eating rice and this foul taste and smell came from my mouth and I gagged. I saw the other reviews that mentioned this and I just thought that maybe they were unlucky or something similar but this restaurant truly is serving rotten food to their clients. Do not come here unless you want food poisoning.

I loved it at the grande the staff were extremely kind and service was amazing, my food didn’t take too long but the food was fantastic everything down to the atmosphere was great!!!

Absolutely love their food but not the racism. My husband has been to this place thrice to pick up food that we ordered on phone. All three times he was called deliveroo or asked to go the deliveroo door. Without even checking with him. So all Indians are deliveroo drivers I guess. Not ordering from you again. I have been a regular customer for 2 years now. You need to get your staff in order.

Very bad service. The worst service I have ever received. We cancelled one dish,but the staff forgot. After we found they gave the dish we did not order. The staff insisted we ordered and refused to acknowledge they made the mistake. In order to avoid conflict, we accepted the dish we didn’t order. We wanted to contact the manager to reflect the issue but were told that manager was not there. And one of the staff argued it was our fault to accept the dish we didn’t order! We were charged 70.5 pounds. The staff lied saying that they only changed 61.6 pounds. The is totally lie! Please watch the CCTV.By the way, we were told to pay by cash to get the discount. So we paid 70.5 pounds by cash!

Our family and friends went there at least 4-5 times, and each time we ordered a lot of dishes, which tasted very good, and the most delicious one was the saliva chicken, which we must order every time. The cold dishes are delicious, and the couple's lung slices are also good. , my favorite hot dishes are salted egg yolk tofu, fresh pepper chicken, mapo tofu and so on. The attitudes of all the waiters are very good. As soon as you enter the door, you can feel the warm service and polite attitude. They will not rush you to leave after eating, but will come over to help you add tap water and so on. The food should be very clean. A friend of ours would get food poisoning the next day if he ate even a little bit of unclean food. But after he went to Chengdu House with us, there were no problems, so we are very confident about the ingredients of this restaurant. is safe. We ordered a Deliveroo delivery from this restaurant and chicken was rotted, even though after heavy spice, spicy marinated chicken meat. When we tried the chicken for the first bite, it was rotted smell and rotted taste. Imagine the badly smells came from the inside of your own mouth. It was so disrespectful for the customers and whoever eat it. They should have full responsibility for any consequence that happens. When we called this restaurant, the owner doesn’t give a shit about our opinion their customers, very irresponsible. Don’t recommend this restaurant for delivery, truly day ruined.

Caring service. The food was very oily but the taste was great and authentic. The won ton soup was amazing. The roast duck and the side of green beans with pork were great.

Overall, it's a pretty good Sichuan restaurant. Because I live close by, I often eat their Maoxuewang takeout. Most Sichuan dishes basically have the same salty and spicy taste, and they are not particularly numb or spicy like Sichuan. After eating it for a while, I felt it was suitable for a dish like Maoxuewang that comes with its own soup. We also recommend steamed pork (or steamed pork ribs) and roast duck. I haven't tried grilled fish or hot pot, so I can't comment. Friends who come, remember to bring more cash, everyone knows.

The place seems friendly enough and cheerful. I like the decor altho it is dated. But it is let down by the horrible food. Unbalanced flavors, tiny, depressing bits of chicken - the smallest they could find - in sweet, goopy sauces, everything slathered in an inch of cornflour. Yuk. Really uninspired. It's like a nasty journey back to the 1970s. Needs a new chef I'm afraid.

The food was fine. But when we asked for some water the owner didn't even bother to ask and then brought up the bottled water priced at 10 pounds! Yikes!

The worst Chinese food I have eaten in the UK. The portions are small, the stir-fried vegetables are not fresh and taste bad, the food is delayed for too long, and I am extremely impatient when customers complain. However, the prices are not cheap. I suggest you not to spend any more.

Ordered king prawn fried rice and the prawns were SPOILED! They were sticky and had an off smell and I bit right into it. The sweet and sour pork ribs arrived in OIL not sauce! I was absolutely mortified I’ve avoided ordering from this place for some time because I believe their prices are too high anyways but to be given spoilt food is despicable. Never ordering from here again. Absolutely disgusting. Not expecting to spend £38 on SPOILED FOOD!

Very unique Chinese flavours and great service

A good restaurant with tasty food. The price point is probably a little too high for the quality and quantity of food, but other than that it's good. Lots of dishes with a strong, tasty chilli oil, which suits me well. It's a pretty restaurant. There could be better information provided on the menu, it's difficult to identify vegetarian options, and unclear if any at all are vegan.

The food was served slowly, the service attitude was poor, and the spicy chicken was unpalatable. Forty minutes after ordering, the food still hadn't arrived. We took the initiative to ask the staff and he said that he didn't seem to have placed an order just now. During this period, the boss passed by our table and I asked her about our order. Exceptionally tasty and authentic Sichuan cuisine! Amongst the best I’ve sampled in London. Also, this lovely restaurant is family run and the staff are incredibly warm and friendly. 10/10 would recommend! Great location too — a short 5 min walk from Stratford station 😊

Much better than the Chinese restaurant in the center dry wok pork intestine in special sauce fried chicken tripe? But it just tastes ridiculous. I didn't go in, but there are three karaoke rooms inside. Highly recommended

The taste is pretty good. Although it is a Sichuan restaurant, I ordered a few non-spicy ones and they were all quite delicious. The stewed beef brisket with radish was delicious! The pork belly and chicken soup is also good. The soup is delicious, but the chicken is a bit too spicy. The overall taste is very good!

All bone fragrant chicken with chili, not good at all. This place used to be good. Too shame not anymore.

Diarrhoea Alert!!!‼️⚠️ We ordered 3 dishes for two. Food flavour and quality has significantly declined since last time I came here for a group dinner in 2022. 鱼香肉丝 ( shredded pork in fish sauce) was really unauthentic and the pork smelled and tasted suspicious (should have rejected this as unfresh pork caused both me and my husband diarrhoea the next morning!!). This dish is a signature Sichuan style cuisine and if you could ruin that, I doubt if you could call yourself a Sichuan restaurant. The rest of the food was average at its best except the Cold chicken noodles which was tasty and fresh.

We stumbled on this hidden gem. Food was delicious. Lots of options. Very friendly service, keen to offer help with menu for first time patrons. Would definitely recommend this place. Only small quirk in that food doesn't come together so one person eating whilst other waits.

It's quite a bland impression of Sichuan food and this is an expensive restaurant even for London, you'll struggle to find mains under £20. The dan dan noodles and fish fragrant aubergine were very mediocre. The dan dan noodles were bland and lacked the creaminess from the sesame. The aubergines were the sort of standard Chinese takeaway slightly sweet and gloopy sauce style, again without a lot of flavour.

The service attitude is terrible, the food prices are unreasonably high, and the portions are small. It is not as good as many Chinese restaurants in China Town in Stratford. I really don’t recommend it.

The most tastiest food! Their food is divine and feels like home. Excellent service and atmosphere. Their rice gluten brown sugar dessert is fantastic! I'd love to go there for karaoke one day.

RIDICULOUS PRICE (£60) for three small starters, two bowls of rice, a pint of lager and a diet coke. Some main courses run to £38 a plate! Staff mainly concerned with getting deliveries out. Avoid.

Used to be the best Chinese restaurant in Stratford but quality has deteriorated and prices have gone up. Ordered their £39.8 spicy grilled whole fish for takeout. The dish was ready within 10 minutes of me placing the order which should have been a red flag. The fish definitely tasted stale—cooked long before and have been either sitting out or in the fridge and was just reheated because there was no way the kitchen could cook a whole fish from scratch within 10 minutes. Extremely bad value for the price. Would definitely avoid in the future.

Food was great three years ago but my recent visit food deteriorated. Service was odd - tables that arrived after us were served faster. Took ages for the bill

I ordered the "Twice cooked fish slices" for £18.80. However, the dish's poor description and photo made it difficult for me to decide. When my order arrived, I found it hard to locate the fish. It was pieces of batter cooked (?) in fat with only a hint of fish flavour. The dish needs a more detailed description to help customers make an informed decision. I appreciate your efforts, but unfortunately, I was left feeling disappointed.

The most authentic sweet and sour fish I've ever had was in the UK, and it was absolutely delicious. I highly recommend it! The service was warm, friendly, and very welcoming.

We waited for 3 hours to get our food with deliveroo and at the end they told us the restaurant closed early and cannot fulfill our order. Very disappointing and ruined our evening.

everytime we go stratford, we always come here for food!! it never disappoints. i do find eating in restaurant rather than taking away from here is a better option, as the food is best served hot and fresh. i would definitely have to recommend the lamb ribs!

We’d heard good things so we’re excited to try Sichuan Grand, BUT our food never arrived! We arrived on time and our order was taken, but after waiting over an hour our food still hadn’t arrived. We decided to pay for our drinks and leave.

I didn't get to try the food. We made a booking, got there on time, our order was taken but no food appeared for an hour plus. We were told numerous times they had forgotten, then when we eventually got fed up of waiting and paid for the drinks, they told us they were too busy to give us food.

The taste is ordinary, the weight is very small, a man has to eat two dishes, the price is as expensive as Chinatown, but this location is not the same as the rent. The waiter service was also poor, not worth to try. Don't blame me for not reminding

A top spot for delicious Chinese cuisine, although I noticed the fried rice tends to be a bit oily. While it's somewhat pricey compared to others, the exceptional taste and service make it entirely worth it.

Solid option for authentic Szechuan style food. We ordered a fair bit of dishes to try the variety that they have to offer and we were content with everything that came our way! It is on the pricier end, but the flavour and quality of our meal was superb!

Ordered the chilli chicken for £20 supposed to be a main course there were 15 tiny pieces of chicken on the bone less than a bite each what a rip off! Need to cook dinner now as that wasn’t even the size of half a starter.

My first time to Cichuan Grand in Stratford. Food was ok but the service let us down as we asked for another portion of rice and we never got it. Portion sizes are fairly small compared to high prices. But what really got me down was that in the bill was included not only the 10% service charge but we had to pay the VAT as well. That's a No for me.

I was hoping for a quick bite. As no one welcomed me even though I said hello I decided to abandon my plan to eat there.

We ordered takeaway last night. The portion size for shredded cabbage is a joke, not to mention its taste is just mediocre at best. It costs £12.90.

I was really craving for Chinese cuisine. As I am living near Stratford. I found this place just near to the Startford Shopping Centre. I came here and order 4 dishes all of them was amazing. The service was really quick and efficient. Definitely became one of my fav place. 🫰🏻♥️🤭

Great food and service but terrible wine. I really like this restaurant and Sichuan food. Most dishes I’ve had are not quite as spicy as elsewhere but everything is pretty authentic. The service is always good. I had pork slices and my wife had spicy prawns. We shared an aubergine dish. All great. The disappointment was the Rose wine we had. My guess is that the the glasses were from a bottle that was too old as the colour was very dark for a French Rose. Should have been drunk sometime ago.

This is a jewel in Stratford's perhaps limited restaurant scene. It is tucked away in the old town by the Theatre Royal. The food is stunning. Be prepared for lots of chilies and the Schizuan pepper...not so much hot as tongue tingling. All the dishes were 'stand out', but I really loved the slow braised brisket with cubes of white radish...absolutely melting, and the Ma Po (tofu) in an unami rich and robust sauce. A very relaxed and unhurried experience.

This has been my favourite Chinese restaurant in london for years. They have great portion sizes and the food is always consistently tasty, I’d recommend the green beans, the pork slices and the vegetarian mapo tofu.

Great food. Very large portions - we accidentally over ordered because the mains are mostly far too much for one person.

Ordered the sweet and sour pork ribs, the gong-bao king prawns, morning glory and Dan Dan noodles. The pork ribs were a bit over cooked/not as fresh but the other dishes were good. I'd recommend the gong-bao king prawns which is their recommendation also. Good service also.

Eaten here probably 30+ times, and had delivery a handful of times; the food has always been very tasty across the whole range of dishes - really can't remember a single bad one*; it's not the cheapest but still would be my favourite restaurant in Stratford. Have also used the karaoke rooms here and that was also very fun - though the interface for that was a little tricky to use. (*though I do remember the laziji used to be even tastier a few years ago)

饭菜整体还不错👍是好吃的。女性服务人员态度和蔼，结账的时候问我们给现金还是刷卡，我们说刷卡然后是61镑，后面问了给现金是九折，然后我们后面就给了英镑现金的钞票和硬币，硬币我们多给了10pence，等他找零，但是我们等了好久都没有人来找零。后面询问是不是还有10pence找零，他才把钱给我们，还摔了我们一句“清了这么多硬币给我，以为你们不要硬币了。”我想说现金就是要做成硬币的形式还怪我给太多硬币？钱就是钱呀看不起硬币吗？

The food was good, but not great. The chicken fried rice was good, the salt and pepper spare ribs were too dry and didn't not have much flavour. Good service all around. Our table had a the hot pot with a variety of meat and veg as well as noodles which they enjoyed. Some more than others. Not bad overall and a good experience.

Feels like recenlty they have to compromise more and more - the already not so low prices get even higher, and the last time I ordered the Sliced Pork (which I personally like a lot, as someone not very used to very oily-meaty Chinese dishes) it really felt like there was maybe 30, or even 50% less meat than when I tried it last summer (2022). My Chinese friends also say, that the meat quality is getting lower there (they always complain abut any meat in the UK anyway), but I cannot really confirm that myself. A small tip: paying cash provides you a 10% discount.

📉Quality drops so hard that I will not visit again. 1. cook here didn't care about quality control. Yes the flavourings are correct, but they don't even bother to mix them well, not even on soups! You got plain soup on top and pure soy sauce at the bottom 🤢 2. Service isn't much, while a HIDDEN service charge is applied on your check ! ! 3. The price has gone up a lot.

Really delicious food. So fresh. Very authentic menu. If you want your bog standard Chinese you don’t come here. Very different menu choices. But the best Chinese food I have had for many years. Staff very attentive and friendly. Will be coming again!!

Very enjoyable and inexpensive meal, with tasty vegetarian options. It got busy later (Friday evening) but we got there about 6:15 and received good service.
