Have been returning here for many years. As usual the place was spotless, service was prompt and welcoming. The meals were exceptional, fresh high quality ingredients with subtle flavouring. Once again the chocolate cake was brilliant. This is still the most reliable Thai restaurant we know and we plan to return for many more years.

Visited on a Sunday as we wanted a Thai meal, and others don't open as early in the area. The restaurant is lovely and clean and it wasn't really busy, you have the choice of the set menu or main, we both had the set and it was lovely for the price, tom yum mushroom soup, spring rolls, chicken bites and beautiful sweetcorn cakes, we both had a chicken red curry that was lovely but needed a little more of a kick, the beef dish was lovely too and egg rice and chips as no noodles to serve, it was finished off with a little chocolate cake that was very nice that I ate the two, one of the highlights was the Singha beer on draft if only the hubby didn't have to drive.

I don't need much encouragement to sample Thai food, but news of a new addition to the "street food" section of the restaurant's menu, together with the return of a favourite seasonal desert, prompted a quickly arranged night out. We received our customary warm welcome and attentive service. I ordered the newly added char siu pork and rice dish and was delighted with the presentation. The flavours were beautifully balanced and the pickled ginger added a very special subtle fragrance to the overall taste. The meat was, as always, of the highest quality and carefully prepared. My main course was followed by the mango and coconut rice desert, which had really been the main motivation for my visit. Let's just say that I'll be back as soon as I can to have more of the same!

Booked 7.30pm on Saturday evening. A large party arrived after us. We were made to feel in the way, our meal was rushed through and they couldn't wait to get rid of us so they could concentrate on the large party. the waitress was so surly. The rice was awful - stodgy and the main course luke warm as if it had been sitting waiting from almost the minute the starter was served. We mentioned our concerns on leaving and they just shrugged their shoulders - totally disinterested . Wont be going back!

we arrived at half six and had a lovely pint or two of Singha cold lager. The starters were served very promptly and we enjoyed the chicken wings , ribs and duck. the mains were arriving too and all was delicious. The special(70) was pork belly with chilli. it was served with jasmin rice and the other thai green curry and lamb dishes served with coconut rice. We concluded with icecream for the kid and the mango and coconut rice pudding. A cocktail was also consumed enthusiastically and a couple more cool beers rounded off a lovely evening. Do visit, the service is outstanding from Pinet the waiter and all in all a lovely evening with real authentic Thai food and music too.

Today we went at 5.30pm to the Siam, it was our second choice as the Shippons was full all evening. When we arrived there was no one there, we ordered of the menu as they had stopped serving all you can eat for £20 a head. We both ordered hot prawn soup, it was spiced milk with 4 prawns in each at £6.50 each, there was no complimentary prawn crackers at this very inflated price and it was in a small bowl at £13 for two bowls it was absolutely yuk. We explained to the young waiter that the flavour was not nice and he obviously relayed this back to the manager who basically did not care. No alternative was offered. We had already ordered our main meals which where where beef in black bean £9.70 and my other half ordered beef schezuan £17 we then had to order rice for £3.20 a portion as it came with no rice so one meal was exceeding £20!! Other was approx £13 plus. Well it was smaller than a child's portion and total bill for food was just below £50. The manager did not remove the soups nor did he apologise, for portion size. We both left and came home for something to eat. due to minimum portions, on leaving I explained the above and the manager stood back whilst his smarmy cashier took the money. We paid and explained we won't be going back, we now know why the resteraunt was still empty at 8pm but the shippons was full all evening. Siam you will be closed soon unless you get a grip £20 for a meal that we could have got from a takeaway and would have done two off us for £6. Your arrogance shrines out brightly.

As per a lot of households, we are nervous about venturing outside of our homes again to eat, drink and socialise, however we can strongly recommend Siam for anyone who feels the same way. Staff were welcoming from the second we walked in and wore appropriate PPE. Guests are seated at more than appropriate distancing and service was impeccable. The food was wonderful, beautifully presented and full of fresh flavour. Generous sized portions and free refills on soft drinks too. Ambiance is authentic and very calming. We will be recommending to friends and family and look forward to our next visit or maybe a takeaway very soon. Thank you Siam and well done 👍

Like many people I'm probably a bit anxious as to whether restaurants and pubs are following covid19 guidelines for social-distancing and meeting a high standard of cleanliness now that lockdown has ended. I was pleased to find the Siam is following all necessary procedures and offering very high standards of cleaning which is reassuring from the moment you walk into the restaurant. In short, I felt very safe dining out. In the current climate, that is more important to me than anything else. There was sanitiser on all tables and by the door on entry; everyone is requested to use it. Tables are cleaned frequently and always as people leave, cutlery is sterilised on view. The staff all wear visors. So well done, Siam, for 'doing everything right' and looking after its customers. The food, as always, is gorgeous and so nicely presented. They also have special 5-pint towers which dispense cold half pints of Singha beer at your table - we agreed we want to try this out on our next visit. Can recommend the sweetcorn fritters, too.

Initially greeted with a genuine warm smile with affection. Great start! Based on a large number of positive reviews my partner and I were excited about the possibility of having a rather pleasant authentic Thai evening. I don't normally write reviews on our visits to restaurants. However I do feel its appropriate to share the wonderful experience we had during our visit to the Siam in Greasby, Wirral. I work and travel to London on a regular basis and can tell you there is very few Thai restaurants that can meet the quality standard of the food, flavours and ambience . As soon as you arrive it feels like you have been transported to Thailand. What an experience! Anyway, anyone who has been to Thailand and experience the street food and flavours on hand will know this is a top top first class restuarant at very reasonable prices. I just wish they would open a similar one in Manchester. I just hope we can still get takeaway during the lockdown.

The restaurant was quiet but there was discreet background music. Nice décor. Cloth napkins. We had time to look at the menu before ordering during which time we selected our drinks. We enjoyed sharing the chicken satay (made with tender chicken) with 2 dipping sauces and salad garnish. I felt the satay sauce was a little thick so difficult to stay on!! The "prawn toasts" were well balanced with a thick topping, not greasy. For our mains we had the Pla Nueng Manow, described as a popular dish to Thai people- Steamed SeaBass ( Wow! I know why, a hot and sour sauce - I didn't eat all the chilli slices but the fish was delectable, white flesh, steamed so healthy too and not a bone in sight, perfectly filleted. I like vegetables so when the fish was served I decided to order a side dish - great choice, highly recommend; all bright colours, crisp in a soy and oyster sauce and plentiful. My husband ate the Gai Med Mamuang which was stir fried chicken with cashew nuts - plenty of tender chicken. Service was excellent throughout. if you don't have time to dine out you can have a take away option- discount too. We were shown to our table, a drinks order was taken and we were asked to go to the buffet for 'soup' a kind of clear liquid with sliced mushrooms floating in it, which was served to us and 1 ladle full just about filled 1/3rd. of the bowl! That was all we saw of the waiter/manager - we cleared all the dirty dishes from the soup and again from the starter - the next table was getting quite full!Food quality was OK and was replenished and cooked fresh during the time we were there. No condiments or cutlery for dessert, just took fresh from adjoining tables. Received a very friendly welcome.Very patient as 4 of our party were late arriving. Gave us prawn crackers and drinks while we waited. Interior decor is fine but difficult to judge the ambience as the restaurant was not busy- mid week.Good value anniversary £10 menu and we all chose from that. Food good but not spectacular or the best we have tasted but good value.Thai wine and beer was very good. Overall bill was not cheap considering that we had the anniversary special menu. Everyone enjoyed themselves though.

We have eaten here a few times now, and although the food is nice enough, and good value if ordered from the fixed price menu, there are some things that tend to let the place down. Thes include the rather intensely bright spotlights, which really detract from any atmosphere the place could otherwise have, and the rather 'hard' furnishings which tend to echo abnd amplify any noise, especially if there are a group of diners celebrating a special occasion. It could be a much more inviting place with some softer lighting and furnishings, but at the moment whilst it is a nice enough place to enjoy some Thai food, it is hardly a place for either a quiet or romantic meal.

The menu has a lot of choices even for me the ultimate fussy eater. The meal that I had was really good and I would definitely recommend going to the Siam, a friendly clean restaurant with great food

Lovely food. Crab and chicken satay starters followed by sweet and sour pork and beef red Thai curry with coconut rice. Good prices and very tasty, misses out on 5 stars because of a little mix up when we arrived. Highly recommended.

I have been a frequent visitor to this restaurant. The staff are always very welcoming and friendly, the food is consistently good. I have never experienced any form of delay in service and the staff are always polite and attentive. The Anniversary menu was excellent value for money and prompted several repeat trips! I can highly recommend the green or red thai chicken / beef curry and the Tom Yum soup is absolutely fantastic!

This little gem of a restaurant we have only recently started to visit. The service is very attentive & friendly. It was my daughters 21st birthday we went as a party of 10 the food was fantastic light flavoursome the staff are so friendly. The way the food is served in all the little Thai dishes which adds to the authenticity. Great value for money you won't be disappointed.

Fancied something a little different than our usual mid week Chinese, so after driving past this place decided to give it a try. The restaurant itself was clean, stylish and modern and had recently undergone a refurbishment which is evident as everything is new. We both ate of the set menu which is £17.50pp for starter, soup, main and rice/noodles. A little pricey for a mid week treat. The food was full flavour and was of excellent quality - i personally didn't like the soup as it had too much lemon grass in but thats just person preference. The drinks are a little pricey especially the cocktails which could do with some work. If they are charging 7.50 I expect a decent cocktail. It was drinkable just expected a little more. All in all a lovely experience.

I have been frequently going to Siam for the last four or five years after eventually getting round to trying the establishment. I live local and always wanted to try it but was not sure I would know what dishes to order. Ever since day one the staff helped me choose dishes to my liking that I now order regularly , whether its at a family meal on special occasions or a weekend takeaway. The staff have always been helpful and the interior decor is very impressive. I understand individuals comments about the pricing being more than a takeaway and even some restaurants but you can tell the Chef uses the finest of produce when preparing their meals as the final product is always delicious. I personally find the comments about tough beef and poor standard of food in the negative reviews I have read laughable and would certainly question their validity and agendas. People can argue that the pricing of certain items on the menu is steep but I find it very hard to believe anyone has an issue with the standard of food as I have found it to be consistently the most beautifully prepared food I have ever received in 30 years of attending restaurants for meals , hence the reason I frequently attend with my family on special occasions.Every aspect about the Siam Thai restaurant contributes to a fantastic dining experience with my latest trip being no exception. This time I opted for the Beef Tiger cry and as always I found it to be soft and delicious. Beautifully prepared. I don't know the owners and staff personally but they always greet me and my family with a smile while looking after our every need and request. I am only too happy to provide them with an excellent rating and I already look forward to planning another enjoyable saturday night eating thai crackers and sampling the fantastic Singha Thai beer while deciding what to order .

Wanted something different, so we went to this restaurant. Starters very nice, but I ordered sizzling fillet steak with veg & rice. It needed a sauce. I have to say it wasn't worth £16, there was hardly any veg & the whole dish was quite a dry tasteless meal. My step daughter had the chicken curry which she loved & hubby had chicken noodles which he said he enjoyed. I thought his meal looked like it was slopped on a plate, no garnish etc & he agreed. I am a person that looks at what people have ordered, you would never of ordered that. The restaurant was celebrating it's 10th anniversary, and above our heads was a great big cobweb. even my step daughter who never complains about anything in restaurants commented on it. Wouldn't go again, over priced & been to nicer Thai restaurants.

We ordered a takeaway after reading alot of positive feedback and although more expensive than most we though it must be good. How wrong we were, it cost nearly £40 for 2 people and the food was not worth a quarter of the money. The rice was hard and the beef red curry was tough as old boots and the sauce really insipid and watery. I am convinced that the dishes had been microwaved as they were packaged in the usual plastic containers but were also sealed in a plastic wrap, probably all made earlier that day and refrigerated, that would explain the hard moulded rice stuck to the containers and the very tough beef.I also ordered a papaya thai salad which I love. whenever I eat Thai, I always have this. Its one of Thailands most famous dishes and the Siam do not even know what goes into this dish. There was no fish sauce, lime juice or palm sugar which gives this dish its sweet, sour and salty taste. What we did get was shredded papaya, a couple of slices of tomato, a couple of green beans, a little red chilli and what seemed like a cloudy sauce possibly containing a little coconut milk. The portion was tiny and for £6 was a complete rip off.The starters were also well over priced for what we got and again not fresh. We we told 30 mins for the food, we got there after 15 and all our food was waiting for us in the bag !!! microwave wins again.AVOID this restaurant at all costs

Having read other reviews I was a bit unsure about how the evening would go but was pleasantly surprised. Staff were warm and welcoming and very attentive, if a little confused between a party of 5 (us) and another couple at times. Despite a long wait for starters to arrive we all agreed the food was excellent and couldnt be faulted, and was really good value for what we had. Would definitely recommend and will be visiting again.

We had a great experience at this restaurant. We went in as two couples and thoroughly enjoyed it. The decor and atmosphere was great and it was really nice to find something different in our local area. We went in late without booking and the staff managed to find us a table at the bar and were very accommodating. The food was lovely, my partner and I shared a yellow curry and it was delicious. Will definitely be going back!

This was our first visit to Siam Thai restaurant in Greasby. It was easy to find once we came off the M53, Junction 3 and follow the Arrowe Park Road. You have to park off street outside the restaurant as there is no car park. There is not much to look at on the outside of the restaurant, however, once you enter, you know you are in a Thai restaurant with eastern decor. The bar is on the left where you are greeted with smiling waiting staff. We were quickly taken to our table as we had a booking for 7.30pm. The dining area is quite nice, with a slightly elevated floor, framed by wood panelling and a wall with Thai painting/mural. The menu consists of promotional banquets and a la carte. There is quite a good choice of traditional Thai dishes. We had tom yam soup as our starters which came in pretty and dainty lidded bowls - it was tasty but we have had better tom yam soup. We liked the Thai prawn crackers with sweet chilli dipping sauce. For our mains, we ordered "Tiger crying" and "Phad Thai" with egg fried rice. The "Tiger Crying" dish came in a sizzling tray of sliced tender beef, cooked to our choice (medium). Don't expect anything else with the beef, it comes on its own, like a steak, but you get a saucer of sweet vinigarette and peanut sauce with it. The beef was juicy and tender. We recommend that you order a vegetarian dish to accompany the beef. The Phad Thai was okay, slightly bland and a bit on the dry side. We had far more tastier Phad Thai from Thai restaurants, in both the UK and Thailand, this was disappointing. It is fair to say that the service was good, and our food arrived quickly. The staff were helpful. The prices do not reflect the standard of food served and for the same prices, we had eaten better elsewhere. Overall, we would rate the restaurant above average as it is not poor and neither is it super brilliant. Will we return to the Siam, may be. The sizzling beef was good, though. Please do not let us deter you from trying this restaurant for yourself, as your experience may not resemble ours. We have eaten in many Thai restaurants and naturally, we benchmark our experience when trying out new venues. Kind RegardsThe Wise-Ones4th May 2013

Good varied menu with easy to understand interpretations of each dish. Portions fairly small for the price. Food tasty. Lacked atmosphere and service disappointingly slow and impersonal. Our dishes were left at our table for over 15 minutes after we had finished eating, during which time the tables around us were polished, not just cleaned I mean actually sprayed with furniture polish which really put us off ordering dessert as the smell of the spray was overpowering. Plus nobody seemed to want to serve us despite it being only 9pm on a Saturday night.

I had the TIGER CRY for my main which was basically a thin piece of Beef on a sizzling plate, however I had no extras e.g oinons etc just a thin slab of beef with no flavour, then I was served a small amount a bland sauce Its a good job i ordered a side dish of sticky rice. Both of them, however together again was very bland and such a disappointment. Anyone who can rate this dish or place as good is crazy and obviously have never been to a Thai resturant before such as Chaophraya in Liverpool which is Cheaper and 100% better. My partner ordered a fillet of steak dish as well, however at least he got some onions etc! i wouldnt call it a fillet he go it was more like the thin slices of beef you get in ASDA for your sandwichs or i would feed my dog with, but then that could be a compliment. We complianed to get told basically tough look this is what you get and the manager didnt come over and apologise and ignored us when we left the resturant. Plus you can tell when i resturant isnt doing well when the place is empty on a Saturday night.

First review ever written just to make people aware of this awful place. Was charged £16.50 for a fillet of Beef dish that was not a fillet, was in fact waver fin. My partner also ordered beef (tiger cry) this was simply a slab of beef nothing else and again waver fin with a moniscule amount of sauce that had no flavour. We complained to be told that this is how there food is by a lovely waitress, as she had been told by the manager. he did not have the decency to apologise or even address us himself. I am disgusted and would recommend that everyone avoids this place at all costs and would also point out that this happened on a Saturday night at peak time when tgr restaraunt was empty - which would suggest that punters/public alike have the same feeling about this restraunt.

The food was average when we visited. Ordered a lamb red curry, which tasted a bit stale and we have not experienced the fresh flavours which Thai food is famous for with any of the other dishes that we have ordered (for take away) once previously either.Another major let down was that there were no high chairs in the restaurant! The owner said the reason was that families did not usually come with young kids apparently because the food was “too spicy’. This cannot be true, as we have eaten in several Thai places where kids have been more than welcome, and the staff have been very friendly towards the kids. The ambience and décor is nice, free off road parking is available. It is a pity that there aren’t many other places to eat Thai food on the Wirral.
