always has been a good Chinese takeaway.. I have traveled the UK most my of my life and I still think Shanghai is one of the best I have ordered from and it's local.

Food was bang on really but I hope you like onions with everything! I’d ask for no onions next time. I think I probably ate 4 whole onions in my meal, it was in the salt n pepper chips, king prawn curry, bamboo shoots, and bean curd. Too many onions. Chill out on the onions. Did I mention there was too many onions? Too many onions indeed. Needed less onions overall! Just a few too many I reckon. Wouldn’t have been nearly as onion based if there was just a bit less onion. Otherwise it was delicious

Nothing freshly cooked, everything cold, not what we were expecting quality wise

I’ve usually always had good food from here but tonight I ordered the munch box and it was basically chips and not much more it cost £13 and was a rip off for what was in it.

The special chow mien was tasteless hardly any noodles all vegetables and the meat well 1 piece of chicken 1 piece of pork the rest don’t know what it was but it was rock hard couldn’t chew it. The rest of the food was delicious usually food is excellent

I received the order, there were missing items, the food standard was very poor! The chicken was slimy, pork was chewy and the dishes were bulked out with vegetables, gravy very bland and no taste, the whole meal went in the bin… requested a refund and received £2 back for missing chips.

rung up as soon as I ordered to ask for fresh chips as the last order the chips were old and dry. delivery came and again the chips were rubbish and old. sorry but I won't be ordering from here again.

25 mins late & missing sweet & sour sauce

My food was fine I had a tasty box and was allways nice my other half had a chicken satay dish and was disgusting which is a shame because it’s allways nice

Had to ring restaurant twice as the app said it had been delivered- the food was poor quality, the prawn toast was burnt and battered pork balls soggy. I didn’t enjoy it at all, in fact a waste of money

I come here a lot and really enjoyed the food, however I found a bone in my crispy duck rolls that has chipped my tooth. We also had a problem with payment, in their website i picked pay at pick up and the website did not specify that you could only pay with cash. I got there and had to re order my whole order, which ended up being more expensive than when I initially did it through the website. Usually love this place and the food is nice but will not be coming back.

Food not fresh at all, reheated. Items missing from order and not cheap! Curry sauce like sludge, chicken skewers reheated. Overall not a great experience. No apology from the restaurant re the missing item when calling, they didn’t seem to care. Wong be ordering again!

Fast delivery and the food was gorgeous.

Ordered four chicken and pineapple and two portions of chips. For some unknown reason I received two portions of RICE instead. Obviously somebody needs reading glasses urgently.

Bought meal for two, paid 27.40! All dishes bland and overcooked, the best part of meal was prawn crackers. Won't be back any time soon.

Visited here for the second time this Saturday and it was absolutely bad as exactly as the first one. We ordered on the phone and we were told that it would take 15 minutes, we got these in about 15 minutes and still had to wait for at least 20 extra minutes. I wouldn't have mind waiting I'd I'd received the food I was expecting but nope it was nothing like that. As .y friend said that this place is a hit and miss and today's service and proved it. My friend who recommended me this place told me that this place is a hit and miss especially on the weekends. Prices are not cheap either and after today's service and food

Food looks like it was cooked two days ago as it was stale Chips greasy and cold. Absolutely disgusting.

Crispy beef was absolutely awful. Like hard rubber.

Found fly in my chow mein and a piece of plastic in the fried rice we had ordered. Tried complaining to the take away, and they put the phone down. Complained to just eat and haven't really had any feedback from them regarding our complaint either. Very disappointing

Wouldn't recommend it took over an hour to come the chow mien was nice the rest of of was discussing and went in the bin the rice was cold and the chips were at least three days old reheated any self respected chef would not have sent them out

Usually the best Chinese but tonight was a waste of good money. Chips looked and tasted like last nights warm up. Curry sauce was a lump of jelly. Everything else was microwaved warm up food. Nothing fresh and nice like usual. Totally wasted money 😞

Order on time, turned up hot. Still yet to find a better Chinese in LS15. The Thai Prawn Red Curry was amazing, always great food. Thanks guys

Food was cold, driver got lost and had to phone as he lost the house number too! The vegetable dish had no flavour (must have forgotten to add any garlic, soy etc during cooking) and was so bad it went in the bin, vegetable spring rolls were soft and chewy rather than crisp, so disappointed they have seemed to have been going downhill for the last few months and this was the final bad meal we will not be ordering from them again

Best Chinese in LS15 - been coming here for 30 years. Curry / noodles / black bean are our favourites. Thai dishes are not the best unfortunately. Always get free prawn crackers and food is always ready in good time

I have used this takeaway for years and years, and seen it pass through many owners over those years. Honestly, I only order the Beef Curry & Boiled Rice. Having said that, the dish is usually of an excellent quality, tasty, spicy and cooked perfectly, however it does fluctuate slightly in standard and I have occasionally been delivered the wrong item, but that is very, very rare. I used to have this one dish delivered regularly, but was disappointed that their delivery threshold was increased so much that I would now have to order at least two dishes, to get delivery, which I don't usually want. I don't live all that far away, either. My biggest, and probably sole criticism is the reception area. This used to be homely, in typical oriental takeaway style, nice decoration, plants and a tv (entertainment, should one have to wait). Now, it's just a bland white, uninviting wall with glass screens. To me, it is slightly reminiscent of somewhere one might claim ones dole money from, through a security hatch. I think, now it is post pandemic, this should be removed and made more customer friendly once again, even if it might also be there for security reasons. I would think, like many takeaways that in warm weather the back door is sometimes left wide open anyway for ventilation, compromising any security, so come on Shuang Hsi. I love the food I order, but make the place welcoming once more. Thank you

Excellent food to bring away really enjoyed it. Please note closed for holiday til 21/22nd August '23. Delivery service available for a price. Normally open 7 days and bank holidays. Some parking outside. Will be going back as food was excellent.

Quick collection, but very average food. Several dishes felt like they were just bulked out with onions and were very stingy on the meat. The wings were quite small too. Perhaps we are spoiled by our usual Chinese takeaway which is miles better.

Absolutely love this takeaway and I love that you can order fortune cookies on the side they are my favourite with this pregnancy mine and my partner’s favourite will continue ordering from here

If I could give zero, I would!! What a total waste of money! I've just had chicken fried rice with sweet n sour sauce and it was utterly tasteless! The rice tasted like 'easy cook' rice, basically plastic, the chicken was dry and tasteless and the sauce like water. This is now the 2nd really bad food we've had from here in the last couple of months. I only went back as I'd had decent food in the past, but last time, I spent almost £40 and the majority of the food went in the bin. They overcharge for their food and its become substandard and tasteless. I will NOT be using this place again, they've taken enough of my hard earned money for nothing for the last time!!!

Food stale and not appetising, crispy prawn’s were soggy, meal box food was like reheated leftovers and salt and pepper chips were recooked too many times, most of it went into the bin. Expensive rubbish

Duck spring rolls should be ‘taste of duck’ as they seemed to be filled with some sort of noodle or something, not even any veg. Super disappointing. Rest was okay

Incredibly Bland and watery. Two of the dishes basically tasted exactly the same. Beef curry ok. Had way better for the price. Should have just used our regular Chinese rather than gambled.

As well as the food being delivered early it was still hot. The chicken balls in batter, a good size portion, nice batter however the chicken inside was coated with something making it red on the outside 🤔 also quite dry. I ordered a curry sauce which I had to pay extra for but they also sent the sweet and sour sauce, maybe give the option of one or the other and not charge for it. My wife ordered Chicken chop suey and said it was nice but the pieces of chicken were far too big, maybe cut into smaller pieces. We both had soft noodles which were very good.

This is the BEST Chinese takeaway by far ! The food is amazing we have finally found the perfect Chinese cuisine in our area and it has taken nearly 14 years. Menu choice is fantastic, the food is always hot and the delivery drivers are friendly and polite. We would highly recommend trying them out. We hope the owners get to read this very well deserved review . Thank you

Food was great hot fresh and tasty. Ordered duck which was cooked well and come with fresh ingredients. There noodle dishes where full of meat and vegetables tasty. Great meal thanks

best chinese meal I've had in ages from here the other night.

Order regularly from here and the food is always great. There is the rare time when an order isn't quite right but they are always happy to resolve quickly. They always take note of our order notes as well l. Really nice and friendly staff, great customer service and fair prices for the area. Highly recommend.

Orderd from this place previously and had nomcomplaints however this time the portions were comsiderably smaller than previously. The cantonese shredded beef and chicken dishes were filled out with onion instead of the meat. The salt and pepper spare ribs were also disappointinh as there was only 7/8 pieces of ribs and rest of the box was also filled out with onion.

Everything was amazing and the best bit was the seaweed wow was it amazing hhahaah

Simple request to change sweet and sour to ok sauce and didn't change, as it was first order from here I ordered an okay sauce dish (paid extra for) overall I wouldn't order again battered chicken prawn balls were cold, chips were overcooked, the ribs in ok sauce had more pineapple in than sauce or ribs,

Rice was tasteless and soggy, curry sauce tasted more like gravy and the chicken satay skewers and salt and pepper squid and chicken were over cooked and dried out.

Jus had delivery from a rude delivery driver...I ordered duck rolls and got spring rolls first time I got from here was lovely ill go elsewhere now very disappointed

Collected food, got home 5 min drive and food was Luke warm!! Tried ringing but no answer. Went back to take away and it was closed! Not happy waste of money!
