Sakura Chinese Take Away in Leeds

Very nice take away restaurant. Very quick service and the foods were great! We had special fried rice and special chow mein, big portions! Highly recommended :)

They served me a £3.5 salt and pepper chips and it was basically just a big box of chips and a small amount of very small chunks of onions and maybe about 4 slices of chilli. Just really bad and a waste a money. If you're coming here for salt and pepper chips don't bother, just buy the chips instead or spend your money some place else

Always order from here but tonight I waited over 2 hours for my food and when it did finally turn up, it was someone else's food!! Bearing in mind when I rang they said our food was the last order as they had been busy so i dont understandhow they got it wrong. Their food is always the best and I never use anywhere else but tonight I am honestly disappointed...

Customer service is absolutely shocking! Waited over an hour to be told they haven’t even cooked the food yet and when I said I had a 9,5,3 year old they said that isn’t their concern they care about customers ringing to place orders!!! Avoid this place absolute shambles

Sakura is the best Chinese takeaway in the Headingley! My personal favourites are the special oyster sauce with egg fried rice which is delicious. The duck in black bean sauce is great and so is the chow mein. My friend gets the lemon sauce with crispy chicken which is a winner and it’s all incredibly fair priced. Also, the appetiser box is great value for money. Whenever I need to satisfy a Chinese takeaway craving - Sakura is the place to go.

Lovely takeaway food from Chinese to all other Asian food very friendly owner we had A long chat about food then I ordered my fav meal the chicken katsu curry and I can honestly was impressed the food nice and fresh and the portion was more then enough I highly recommend this place

Really friendly servers and the food was tasty! It was made really quickly too. Only loss of a star due to the chicken lacking substance maybe due to slow cooking the chicken, but flavours were all top notch.

Pad thai horrific, special chowmain horrendous, chinese no thanks never again and not from here, this place used to be bang on, the taste and ingredients were absaloutely basic tonight, almost like the dishes are made from the same gravy sauce. The pork dumplings lacked herbs, seasoning and were dry and pretty tasteless. Wasted £21, gf barely touched hers and I felt pretty robbed. It's almost like it's under new management. Order frome Home Chinese for example or a pad thai from thai aroy dee and you will see it's like night and day.Who's your chef? seriously take a long hard look at yourself. You need to get the passion back if you ever had any. Won't last long with food like this.

Waited nearly 2 hours . I rang after 1 hour was told they were busy and it would be in next half hour. But in fact I heard them say half order was lost 🤷‍♀️. Food came hot and was ok . Prawn crackers over done . Promised free prawn toast it didn’t arrive just 2 cans of pop . Would be reluctant to order again due to time waited and food wasn’t amazing

Good food, came quickly. Had some bad experiences recently with Chinese takeaways, but these guys did well. Duck was best in the I’ve had in the area.

was visiting a mate in Leeds and he suggested this chinese takeaway close to him, was a bit hesitant getting takeaway given the situation but my mate couldnt afford anything else as he had just lost his job due to covid, we were in the shop and got chatting to the new owner and he assured us they were taking all the precautions for health and safety and food hygiene, when he heard about my pal losing his job he gave us the food for free! he even threw in some extras, the food was very nice and they took excellent care of us, its just little acts of kindness which make a huge difference, thank you to all the staff at Sakura, hope to see you guys again.

Best Chinese North of the city!

Holy moly. Never have I ever felt so utterly dire after eating a meal. This food deserves a platinum medal for becoming 1st place in the 'Garbage Food' Olympics. I used to order from Sakura around 2 years ago (when it was ran by the original owners) and the food was Godly, however, since then, Sakura got overtaken two times by two different owners, both of which seem to have the ultimate goal of dominating the world via giving everyone the true definition of the term 'feeling sick'. I was literally in my bed hanging on for dear life after eating this meal, wondering to myself if I had made the mistake of being agnostic my entire life, wondering if when I died that very night, if I'd be let into bliss, and relieved of the agony of my stomach pains. Trust me, if you have a jar of Homepride rotting away in the back of your fridge (Like me and everyone else in the U.K) just crank that jar open and whale away; you'll get sick, but, not as sick as if you were to eat from here.

Food is always very tastey. Arrived piping hot in good time. Don't believe these bad reviews, the pork is neither fatty nor undercooked - it was tender and delicious. The crispy chicken strips in chilli OK sauce was absolutely excellent as always.The pork ton kastsu was brilliant and great portion size. The vegetarian food did not compromise on flavor like some other local takeaways do in the LS6 area. "There's bare meat in this" I would upload a photo but we ate it all already! Can' wait to order again x

Lovely staff, had a few instances where they've sent real meat instead of mock version but they are always super helpful sorting it out, and the food is always really tasty!

I ordered Pad Thai noddles with chicken and prawns via phone. The delivery service was reasonably quick so the food was warm. Regarding taste, I am comparing it with My Thai restaurants and if I rate it 5, Sakura will get 3-4 from me. Just adding this that prices are almost similar to My Thai!!

Got it slightly wrong last delivery. Lisa gave us a free meal this time round. Mark, the delivery driver, is a great and friendly bloke. Salt of the earth and couldn't apologise enough for the last mix up. 5* Mark. Thank you. I love this place, food and customer service is fantastic. The food is OK, strictly average but at premium prices and not even a sniff of complimentary prawn crackers at the prices they charge! Cash only and incapable of getting all the order right.

I was skeptical of my food when I saw it.. It didn't look amazing. However, I hold my hands up and say that it tasted much better than it looked. The chicken chow mein and the lemon chicken I had were very good. Not the best I've ever had, but a solid 4 star choice.

Cerdo graso, gambas poco cocidas, luke platos calientes sin sabor que han necesitado una explosión de microondas! El personal es excelente, pero podría tardar un poco antes de que pida otra orden.

THIS PLACE HAS GONE COMPLETELY DOWNHILL. FOOD HAD BUGS IN IT AND CUSTOMER SERVICE WAS ABSOLUTELY SHOCKING. DO NOT ORDER FROM HERE. I have been a customer of Sakura's since I came to Leeds in 2010. Over the last year or so, I've noticed a significant deterioration in food hygiene, cumulating in today's episode where I found BUGS COOKED INTO MY PRAWN CRACKERS. A year ago, I found a mosquito in my soup, but gave them the benefit of the doubt. Assumed it was a one off. In recent months, I've found hair in my food. Again, this would be enough to put some people off, but given that I've been a loyal customer, thought I'd give them the benefit of the doubt. But finally, this evening, third and final straw, bugs cooked into my prawn crackers. Not okay. And neither was the way this was handled. I called to tell them about the bugs, and the lady I spoke to tried to fob me off and tell me its sesame seeds and that they'll give me a freebie next time. I couldnt be bothered arguing, but then after a discussion with partner, I decided to call back, because actually, that's not acceptable. I called back and spoke to the manager (Richard) and oh my God, he is the rudest man I have ever spoken to. Shouting at me, cutting across me, accusing me of lying, telling me he wont refund anything because I'd eaten some of my meal before Id noticed, telling me to call environmental health because hes too busy. Even said that if there WERE bugs in it, they would be disintegrated in the hot oil. Disgusting. He then ended the call telling me a driver would 'try' and come because a photo wasnt sufficient, he needed evidence. I called my partner, upset by the exchange, who called them back and they agreed to send a driver immediately, but still wouldnt commit to a refund - I'd eaten my starter, so fair enough, didn't expect a refund on this, but I'd left most of my spring rolls, nearly all the prawn crackers, my main and all of the noodles, as I stopped eating when I noticed! The driver arrived, and it was one of the worst experiences I've ever had. He made me stand on my doorstep and go through the bag of prawn crackers in the dark with his phone light to show him the evidence of the bugs whilst he was on the phone to the manager!! The driver could clearly see pieces of bug (heads, wings, bodies), but said he couldn't confirm they were bugs just 'black dots', and because there wasn't a whole bug (because I couldn't find the one that I'd taken a photo of) they weren't interested!! The driver stood there stoney faced, blatantly lying about what he could see, and also let a number of prawn crackers fall out of the open bag onto the floor! The manager offered me £5 back or told me to go to environmental health so I said I would. The manager ended the call, the driver left, but then knocked on my door with the food I'd handed over to him, and instructed me to take it - to which I told him no, obviously I didnt want it! As a woman living on my own, this whole standing on my doorstep with a bloke telling me I'm lying, on the phone to his aggressive manager, and randomly returning to my door, was really uncomfortable and didnt make me feel safe at all. I will never, ever order from Sakura ever again. I have spent so much money in there over the years, and had a good rapport with the lovely lady on the desk, but I am absolutely disgusted. I am so, so angry and disappointed in this experience.

Pero finalmente, esta tarde, tercera y última gota, los insectos cocinaron en mis galletas de gambas. No esta bien. Y tampoco fue la forma en que se manejó esto.Llamé para contarles sobre los insectos, y la señora con la que hablé trató de engañarme y decirme sus semillas de sésamo y que la próxima vez me darán un regalo gratis. No podría molestarme en discutir, pero luego de una conversación con un compañero, decidí volver a llamar, porque en realidad eso no es aceptable. Llamé y hablé con el gerente (Richard) y, Dios mío, es el hombre más rudo con el que he hablado. Gritándome, cruzándome, acusándome de mentir, diciéndome que no me devolverá nada porque había comido algo de mi comida antes de que me diera cuenta, y que me dijera que llame a salud ambiental porque está demasiado ocupado. Incluso dijo que si hubiera ERRORES en él, se desintegrarían en el aceite caliente. Asqueroso. Luego terminó la llamada diciéndome que un conductor lo 'intentaría' y que vendría porque una foto no era suficiente, necesitaba evidencia. Llamé a mi compañero, molesto por el intercambio, quien me devolvió la llamada y aceptaron enviar un conductor de inmediato, pero aún así no se comprometía a un reembolso. Me comí mi entrante, lo suficientemente justo, no esperaba un reembolso en este ¡Pero dejé la mayoría de mis rollitos de primavera, casi todas las galletas de gambas, mi plato principal y todos los fideos, cuando dejé de comer cuando me di cuenta!El conductor llegó, y fue una de las peores experiencias que he tenido. ¡Me hizo pararme en la puerta de mi casa e ir a través de la bolsa de galletas de gambas en la oscuridad con la luz de su teléfono para mostrarle la evidencia de los insectos mientras él estaba hablando por teléfono con el gerente! ! El conductor pudo ver claramente las piezas de error (cabezas, alas, cuerpos), pero dijo que no podía confirmar que eran errores simplemente "puntos negros", y porque no había un error completo (porque no pude encontrar uno). en la foto!) no estaban interesados! ! ¡El conductor se quedó allí con la cara de piedra, mintiendo descaradamente sobre lo que podía ver, y también dejó caer una serie de galletas de gambas de la bolsa abierta al suelo! El gerente me ofreció 5 o me dijo que fuera a la salud ambiental, así que dije que lo haría. El gerente terminó la llamada, el conductor se fue, pero luego llamó a mi puerta con la comida que le había entregado, y me ordenó que la tomara, a lo que le dije que no, ¡obviamente no la quería! Como una mujer que vive sola, todo esto parado en mi puerta con un tipo diciéndome que estoy mintiendo, hablando por teléfono a su agresivo gerente, y que al azar regresaba a mi puerta, me sentía realmente incómodo y no me hacía sentir segura en absoluto. .Nunca, nunca, ordenaré de Sakura nunca más. He gastado tanto dinero allí a lo largo de los años, y he tenido una buena relación con la encantadora señora del escritorio, pero estoy absolutamente disgustado. Estoy tan, tan enojada y decepcionada por esta experiencia.

Do not eat here! Satay chicken did not taste like satay and was extremely spicy and over cooked. Beef chow mein was very bland, beef was very chewy. Chips were over cooked yet somehow uncooked in the middle. Do not recommend.

Food was good. Delivery driver was awful. He refused to come into the car park in front of our apartment building insisting I come out into the main road to meet him. It was raining and he sat in his car. Rude and unhelpful. Food was good but won’t order from here again - especially as they charge £1.50 for delivery!

The delivery time was an hour, which is long as it is to say the restaurant is in the same postal area as us, but then the food was a further 40 minutes late. We rang the restaurant 20 minutes after it should have arrived, they said it would arrive within the next 3 minutes and 20 minutes after that it still had not arrived. As compensation they said they were giving us free drinks, and by free drinks they meant one can of diet coke, despite the amount of food making it clear that the order was for more than one person. The food quality was alright but nothing special - definitely not worth the wait!

Gorgeous as always! Although the chicken balls were slightly too chewy tonight for my liking. Everything else was perfect.
