Sakura Chinese Take Away in Leeds

We go here quite often. Chicken in plumb sauce is my mum's favourite. My dad likes the soups. The curries are decent but I love the simple chicken and mushroom the best.

food was hot and lovely as usual delivery was late due to unforeseen circumstances but I got a courtesy call explaining why and not delivery drivers fault. Thank you for the courtesy call which they didn't have to and food lovely as ever. I am not going to downgrade stars as this is NOT a regular occurrence I have been notified prior that my delivery was delayed. Thank you for our delicious meal.

Feels like something fishy is going on with these reviews on Just Eat. Not a chance anyone has genuinely rated this place higher than 2 stars. I've never ordered a food item from anywhere as awful as the chow mein I ordered here.

meal was a little late but not the fault of delivery but to roadworks but I have given 5 stars as we know the roadworks in that area are atrocious. The driver was very concerned regarding if our food was which it was and the meal was lovely and hot. Thank you to the driver for his concern and asking us if any problems to contact them, very good customer service. Again thank you a lovely meal and delivery.

the food was so late, I expected maybe 15 minutes late as I added to the order but it took so long that the rice and chips were so cold and my son was going to bed by the time it arrived. I'd normally get such great service but it was disappointing tonight

I have left feedback numerous times for this takeaway because we use it so frequently! The food is absolutely gorgeous and always arrives early and red hot. My absolute favourite place.

food was lovely and good quality only a couple of things the chow mein had excess water/juices should have drained half of the juices probably caused by the vegetables or noodles, also salt and pepper king prawns the outside of the batter was not as crispy as it usually is but could still taste partially uncooked batter. I have still rated a 5 due to quality of the food. maybe cook the salt and pepper king prawns another minute for that crispiness that we have had previously.

It’s ironic that they are called “Spare Ribs” because if anyone asks me to share I never have any spare!! OMG that was good I wish people could rate this review.

Food was lovely, but this was the second time that the "Szechuan bean curd and aubergine" came with no aubergine in it.

Sakura is my absolute favourite Chinese takeaway in Leeds!! The tofu is so good and the chips are just right. Salt and pepper tofu is my absolute fav. Usually the delivery is super fast but this time it was quite a bit late. However, they rang me and explained they were super busy cos the students have come back and they gave me a free drink. I’ve been ordering from here for years and will keep coming back. Really really recommend :)

Food is delicious. I recommend Sweet and Sour chicken with boiled rice, and Chicken Chow Men. The onion rings are are big and home made, not those horrible frozen ones. And The delivery guy came into the building and knocked my door, not like most that ring you to come outside. He was happy and smiley too, which is great.

The food arrived earlier than expected (always good!) and was red hot. Lovely food and massive portions. Just what I needed after a hard day at work!

Mixed review tbh, My chicken balls were lovely and some of the best I've had albeit the curry sauce was a bit runny and could have been thicker. My wife's sweet n sour chicken was apparently very nice too but unfortunately the rest of our order wasn't good at all. My noodles were luke warm at best basically cold and they were so bland and tasteless also they were vermicelli noodles which I dislike and not the traditional Chinese medium egg thread noodles, My wife's chips were cold and stale too.

roast pork dish was amazing, but the beef tasted out of date. i hope in the future they smell the food before sending off. a shame because its usally very tasty. i dont know how food can go out of date in a takeaway, is there no food safety standards?

Salt and pepper strips chips and prawns was beautiful but the Singapore rice and noodles were not nice at all. No flavour despite them being “spicy”

Very bad customer service, very rude, put phone down on me twice, shouting at me, food order items missing, arguing with me, saying it's not on menu when it clearly shows, he said if I want it come get myself, I'm disabled, very upset

I always order from here. The first time I ordered it was delicious. The last time I ordered not so great the starters were nice. the curry sauce was nice, but the rest not so great egg fried rice tasted plain and the special chow mean wasn't great either the noodles where very bland and it didn't taste fresh.

Food arrived a little late due to bad traffic but it was still warm. Friendly staff.

The delivery was late by 45 minutes, AND they sent the wrong meal. Then they text saying I couldn’t get a refund because they were stuck in heavy traffic at 22:30 in a suburb of Leeds, even though the restaurant is max a 5 min drive from my house. I’ve had good service from them before, but really disappointed this time.

Food was terrible tasted funny and didn't look or taste like beef rice tasted old dry and dumplings where horrendous they also tasted old and stale throw all of it away and still taste that funny metallic chemical taste in my mouth like sucking on an old penny wouldn't get anything from here again even if it was free disgusting and so over priced so hard to find a good Chinese on here leeds seems to attract all the bad chef's on Just Eat

food was not hot and I dont reheat food forbid microwaves. the crispy shredded beef in ok sauce for the second time had no beed it was just batter this is really bad quality considering the reviews. won't be ordering again am afraid.

Okay so I will start with the so called positives, the delivery guy was polite and we received a random free can of orange tango but that's where it ends sadly. All of our food was cold to Luke warm at best, the noodles and chips were stone cold and nasty, my wife's sweet n sour chicken was like warm and the hottest dish we received. My so called Japanese chicken katsu curry with homemade batter was cold and resembled a birds eye breaded chicken breast with a smothering of Mayflower Chinese curry sauce mix on it, it was about as Japanese as I am. Overall our food was cold, tasteless and of poor quality and I have complained to just eat about it as I paid over £20 for two meals that went in the bin and we ended up having a ham sandwich instead of an oriental takeaway meal. I don't know where this restaurants good reviews come from unless we just caught this place having a bad night? Somehow I doubt it ☹️

Thai green curry was very generic Thai. Imagine if your ordered the red and green they would be identical. Chicken was also poor quality

It's particularly frustrating when the order was scheduled for a specific time, and we received notification around that time that the delivery driver had it - it shouldn't take another 50 minutes for it to arrive.

Very nice take away restaurant. Very quick service and the foods were great! We had special fried rice and special chow mein, big portions! Highly recommended :)

Terrible food. I’ve ordered food from here many times. This time I had the worst chips (fried at least twice) and was sent the totally wrong dish with no hint of taste that was advertised. Also, when complaining was refused any resolution which is disappointing after spending over £20.

They served me a £3.5 salt and pepper chips and it was basically just a big box of chips and a small amount of very small chunks of onions and maybe about 4 slices of chilli. Just really bad and a waste a money. If you're coming here for salt and pepper chips don't bother, just buy the chips instead or spend your money some place else

I've always enjoyed sakuras food. Beef fried rice is my goto. Tried the hot and sour soup. It wasn't that good though. But still this is my favourite Chinese takeaway.

It was fairly straightforward to order on the Sakura website for delivery to a relation 30 miles away. I was able to use Paypal for payment without any difficulty. Thanks to all involved. I am likely to use your service again.

Some prawns were off so the whole meal had to go in the bin. Very disappointed, a waste of money and will not order again. Cannot recommend.

I would not order from here again, I'm vegetarian and ordered the mock chicken schezwan and vegetables dumplings but I got the chicken dumplings instead! Very disappointing and poor to mix up the order like that. I would nor recommend at all.

TBH not ordered from Sakura since December 2022 and used to be very good. On this occasion today the salt pepper chicken wings very dry as though pre made and then reheated. The chips and salt pepper chips were "stale" and dry could tell frozen chips from supermarket value range like when you leave fish and chips for later and reheat them in microwave. The chicken curry was not as hot (temp) from what i remember. I hope this was just a one off bad spell.

No cutlery as requested via just eat notes plus calling to confirm. Massive Chinese fan so know my stuff but this was clearly undercooked squishy chicken, the rice was clumpy and in block so either reheated or from a microwave bag or took to long to deliver from cooked 1/10 at least it arrived on time.

Been ordering from Sakura for probably 7 or 8 years, always delicious and comforting 👍

Always order from here but tonight I waited over 2 hours for my food and when it did finally turn up, it was someone else's food!! Bearing in mind when I rang they said our food was the last order as they had been busy so i dont understandhow they got it wrong. Their food is always the best and I never use anywhere else but tonight I am honestly disappointed...

Customer service is absolutely shocking! Waited over an hour to be told they haven’t even cooked the food yet and when I said I had a 9,5,3 year old they said that isn’t their concern they care about customers ringing to place orders!!! Avoid this place absolute shambles

Normally ok but this was shocking…. Ordered at 20:53. Phoned at 22:07, be with you in 20, phoned again 22:36 be with you soon. Food arrived at 23:16. Was promised would be fresh straight out the kitchen lol. I should have cancelled the order at the first call as the food was appalling chips was hard to describe they was cold and like soggy but hard. Chicken was cold. Bad experience and guy on the front desk does not give a monkeys about his job.

Food was good but the delivery time was like 20/25 minutes after it was supposed to be here come on guys ur food is really good sort the delivery service out and it'd be spot on :)

Refused food too cold I ordered 1 hour prior to delivery time at 6:30 pm for delivery at 7:30 only to arrive at 8:30 I want a full refund I have video evidence.

Sakura is the best Chinese takeaway in the Headingley! My personal favourites are the special oyster sauce with egg fried rice which is delicious. The duck in black bean sauce is great and so is the chow mein. My friend gets the lemon sauce with crispy chicken which is a winner and it’s all incredibly fair priced. Also, the appetiser box is great value for money. Whenever I need to satisfy a Chinese takeaway craving - Sakura is the place to go.
