With working down here a lot and travelling a lot for work what a place for fantastic food the service with great as well would recommend to anyone they go the extra mile

Was searching for a restaurant for dinner randomly after a fun day at Tamworth Park, we were so lucky to find this hidden gem. Nice staff & good food with reasonable price, lot of choice on menu, suitable for family needs. Definitely will recommend it to others.

Food is absolutely unreal. My one concern was the man making sushi at the top of the restaurant didn’t wash his hands once in the whole time we were sat eating. Never the less service and presentation is top!

Went here on Sunday 23rd June for our anniversary. We was so rushed 3 courses in under an hour. Our table was booked for 7.30 ( they close at 8pm) was very disappointed the staff started putting their coats on and they started cleaning up around us. They brought us some dumplings with ice cream in the middle on the house obviously didn't want us to order desert. Won't be going again and certainly wouldn't recommend. Shouldn't have taken the booking.

The food was amazing, fresh, piping hot and full of flavour. I came here as part of a big company meal (booked in advanced) the service prior and on the day was warm and attentive. On the day, despite there being a large group of us, each course came out quickly and it was easy to get drinks! Also to note on the actual day we had a coupe of changes and the staff took this in there stride. Would definitely recommend and would definitely come back.

Shokudo delivered the best Japanese food we have ever tasted.The freshness, quality, quantity everything was perfect. Everything from Sushi, to starters to the mains and dessert tasted amazing. Delicious on the plates with the best service. I would highly recommend this restaurant as they also cater to your taste. Thank you to the chef and all the staff for amazing service. A great spot to have in the heart of Tamworth. We visited for the first time last week and we had a great dinner. The cocktails we had were both particularly good too, which is often hard to find at any restaurant, let alone in Tamworth. That’s not to say they should just become a cocktail bar though, as the food was great.

Great takoiaki and chicken katsu. Food took me back to my last trip in Japan.

1st time having proper Japanese cuisine. Waitress was very helpful when explaining the food and recommending dishes. It was very quiet but it was early in the evening (6.45pm). Very tasty food. Would definitely come back if in Tamworth again.

Cute little restaurant, authentic tasting dishes (especially the sushi which was fresh and delicious), exceptional customer service. First time here, satisfied my Japanese food craving, will be back again!

Ordered the following for collection. Was ready 15 minutes after placing my order. Pork Gyoza Chicken Katsu Curry Gyudon Pork Yaki Soba The gyoza were really fresh and crispy but soft. Very flavoursome, excellent quality and good value. The katsu curry came with the sauce separate which you poor on to your liking, I used the entire pot. Rice was soft and fluffy, chicken was crispy, soft and moist, curry sauce was full of flavour but not spicy at all, this is just how I like it. The gyudon was really fresh, flavoursome, beef was incredibly tender. Also a hard boiled egg as a bonus on top. The pork yaki soba was very similar to the Wagamama version, but I would say a little fresher and more moist. Very flavoursome and tasty. Another hard boiled egg on top as a surprise. All the food was excellently presented despite being a takeaway order, the chefs clearly care no matter where you are planning to eat either in the restaurant or at home. I would thoroughly recommend Shokudo to all, and will definitely be eating from here again.

The food here is great. We went at 5pm and it was immediately busy. Service was very friendly but a little slow. The ramen and Sushi was delicious though and I do highly recommend.

Great Japanese restaurant which bring nice and calm vibes. We had lobster ramen which was amazing. Half of whole rame in the dish. The area is a bit hidden and there is no proper parking next to is, however, there is local parking not too far away.

Had chicken ramen. Usually have this and is great. This time the ramen liquid was very bland and tasted watered down. The chicken pieces also contained small bones or hard pieces of fat that hurt my teeth. Gutted as a go to order from them pretty much every weekend.

Wonderful, just delightful. Food and staff excellent. Was a little flat on atmosphere, but we did dine quite early.

I wanted to love this place. Unfortunately the food wasn't great. I started with the pumpkin Korroke which was the best bit about the meal. My son had the Chicken Korrage which was hard and tough. My husband had a wrap which he said was great. My main was the salnon bento box - again the salmon was overcooked and dry inside. The rice wasn't great and there wasn't enough sauce on the salmon to eat with it. I didn't care for the eel balls - that doesn't mean they were bad but not for me. There are lots of fish balls I do eat - the eel was mushy though. All in all it just wasn't great. (My daughter's poke bowl looked nicer, but I don't really want to go to a restaurant to eat something we do at home.) Sorry. Maybe we should have got sushi and sashimi.

Always amazing food from here, the bento box is so good and the ramen has this amazing broth, can't recommend it enough!

Stumbled across Shokudo on the way home from Birmingham and so pleased we did. The food (Sushi share box) was amazing, service was brilliant and at a price that didn't break the bank. Will definitely be back, very soon and regularly!!

Amazing Japanese food in Tamworth. The tonkotsu ramen is some of the best I’ve ever had. Iso and futomaki rolls tasted great. I highly recommend this place!

Homey, spacious and lovely and attentive staff. Food served hot and fresh. I had takoyaki and spicy duck ramen. I'm not a fan if spice so asked if they can make it mild and they did. Broth was very tasty and duck serving was generous. Would definitely come back if I'm anywhere near the area 😊

Much improved on the restaurant that was here before. Still some improvements to make. Sushi was good. Rolls were small. Katsu was watery and rather tasteless. 10 months later and this place is even better. Much improved lighting, good ambience, great food. Pork yakisoba and Japanese beef curry were excellent. Definitely worth a visit!

An absolute gem of a find! I stopped by Shokudo Japanese Kitchen and Sushi Bar for a takeaway order for myself and some friends, and I couldn't be happier with the experience. The staff greeted me with warm smiles and even offered me a complimentary miso soup while I waited for my order. Their friendliness and hospitality made the visit even more enjoyable. Plus, the food was simply outstanding! Fresh and delicious sushi, bursting with flavour. Highly recommend.

I recently had the pleasure of dining at Shokudo restaurant that left me completely satisfied and eager to return. The highlight of my meal was definitely the seafood ramen. The rich and flavorful broth paired perfectly with the tender chunks of lobster, creating a dish that was both comforting and luxurious. The noodles were cooked to perfection, adding a satisfying texture to each bite. In addition to the seafood ramen, I also tried the salmon sushi, which was equally impressive. The fresh slices of salmon melted in my mouth, and the perfectly seasoned rice complemented the fish beautifully. Each piece was a delightful burst of flavor that left me craving more. Overall, I highly recommend this place

Excellent Japanese food. The staff is very helpful and patient to take our orders with a table of 12 persons.

The standard of food here is incredible. Fresh ingredients and beautifully presented. We had the salmon sashimi set which melted in the mouth. The soft shell crab tempura was amazing and the katsu curry was perfect for a cold winters day.

Had the chicken Karaage starter and pork soba noodles and cheesecake. And all the food taste so fresh and done well. Been here twice now and love having a Japanese food place up the road. Staff are great and food is amazing. And the decor inside feels authentic.

This place is such a hidden gem in Tamworth, very unique and cozy environment. The food is always well presented and the tastes are even better, the cocktails are always delicious too! One of mine and my fiancé's favourite places to eat at, always a delight when we eat there!

Took my daughter here for lunch as a treat for being brave at the Hospital. The food was incredible. We had the Beef Bento and the Lunch sushi and sashimi platter, it was delicious, presented beautifully with charming service. Sorry I forgot to add a tip and had no cash! We'll be back! 😃

tonkatsu ramen was banging. good size portion, food was hot, pork was delicious, and the egg was perfect which impressive considering it had to travel as well.

Amazing food ,good quality and very friendly people , their take away food comes in different packs with the sauces so it does not get soggy. I recommend them 100% to everyone who loves japanese food.

This is one of our favourite restaurants, food is always hot and delicious! You don’t feel like you’re eating takeaway because it’s got that fresh, homemade feel to it! We’ve also eaten in the restaurant and it was equally as amazing! Highly recommend if you want a hot, tasty and wholesome meal!
