Never Again. Overpriced Kebab Meat! Very disappointed and won't be going back. I think what you get is not value for money in the slightest. A bit of kebab meat laid on some rice with a bit of cut off bread and small bit of salad. Can get so much butter elsewhere for half that price. Shocking!

I will never order from this place again I've been completely ripped off and left disappointed, ive just spent £56 on my order and feel like their was nothing their eat Turkish food all the time this was the worst I've ever had the portions was not the usual size one of them places that try to give you all rice and not much meat, I've just paid all that money for rice and bread

This is our 2nd time ordering from Shishgo. We ordered a spicy chicken kebab and mixed meze from this Turkish takeaway, and I must say, it was exceptional. The food was incredibly fresh and bursting with flavor. The chicken kebab was perfectly cooked, tender, and flavorful, while the mixed meze was a delightful assortment of tastes and textures. What truly stood out was the kindness of the owner. They went above and beyond by generously giving us extra Turkish bread, which complemented the meal wonderfully. The excellent customer service and the quality of the food make this place a gem. I wholeheartedly recommend this Turkish takeaway to anyone looking for authentic and delicious Turkish cuisine. Under cooked chicken and food was cold

My first time trying out these guys and sadly will be the last time....firstly ..who I assumed was the owners ...seemed so grumpy did not want to say hello....so zero on customer service, secondly they don't take card payment....they need to wake up to the fact that everyone uses card now .... thirdly....the food I paid £12.00 for a mixed kebab...which is not bad if you're getting really good food but sadly there was nothing special about the food I had last night.

Food taste great but the wait time was terrible. Was given a collection time and when we arrived were told it would be 5 more minutes. Then we were told there was not enough rice so we would have to wait for that. We were waiting over 15 minutes after the original collection time. The attitude from the manager was rude after I asked to speak to him, telling me to not bother speaking to him and just put a complaint in. This isn’t the first time this poor timing and attitude has happened here

Always wonderful. Freshly cooked food. The kebab meat is always juicy and not too chewy. We have been coming here since it first opened. We moved house and out of Birstall 18 months ago, but haven’t been able to find anything as good locally. So we now drive 15mins to come and collect and it’s worth it every time!

Really disappointed tonight. Not used it in a while. Chicken and lamb dead dry, i saw them chuck charcoal in the fire with my meat on it and it tasted like charcoal. Never using again. £15 down the drain

Great Turkish take away. Mixed meze with Turkish bread is lovely and the chicken beyeti is well worth trying. Great take away and feels a lot healthier than a dinner kebab. Just wished that they deliver. If you go in and order it’s cash only.

My chicken kebab was perfect but the veg kebab my partner ordered was more like a veg stew whereas the previous veg kebab was just right. Subsequently the liquid leaked into the bag. However this seems to be a rarity!!!

We ordered a box for 2. Just about came with enough meat for 1 person. Chips were over fried with to much oil and veg was only a quarter way full. We’re never going to this place again!

Usually love the place but feel really ripped off!! 0 STARS!! ordered the mixed for 2 people as usual which normally comes in a large tray mixed meat ,rice ,salad and a massive flat bread ! (£15) We got a tray same size as another member of family who ordered lamb and chicken they even got more rice and more bread £10) What a con! Rang to complain as it was not what we usually get . We were told for a £1 extra we could have had the combo ! We have never ordered a combo before and the woman was very abrupt we were never told about the combo it would have been nice if when we ordered it someone could have mentioned the difference . From lack of communication 6 local regular customers will be ordering from Efes Mangal (Braunstone Gate) Which is further but really good food and better customer service too!!

Went for a dine in. Sat down and ordered, later told there is no card machine. Had to and get the cash. When the food came 20mins later, the owner asked us to leave and gave me the food as a takeaway. Never did he say whilst sitting that we can't dine in and said due to covid we can't sit in. Food quality has gone downhill. Not sure if they’re using a different supplier or a new chef, but definitely wasn’t anywhere near as good as we’ve had before. Hopefully will be better next time.

Hurts to leave a 3 start review which reflects shishgos service delivery doting busy times. I have in the past waited over an hour outside sorting covid after messing my order again and when the food was finally ready, there was no apology nor a little something extra to soften the blow. Having said that, the food is hands down the best takeaway turkish grill in Leicester! Just need to start accepting card payments!

Best chicken shish in leicester , I dont know how you make your rice so tasty but bravo ! , the salad is always so fresh and the cacik is divine. Enjoyed immensely as always.

It was ready 20mins after 45min collection time and food was very well done burnt in places, the bread was uneatable and the chips portion size keep getting smaller. It's a shame as it was really good but the last 3 times something all ways been wrong.

Food was fresh and tasty but it's not a Turkish original cuisine. Rice was Indian and a little bit blant, meat was chicken, and only chicken. Even if it was something else it tasted like chicken. Overall wasn't bad and was tasty but why would you settle for anything else than the real thing...

The food was delicious, the portions were bigger than anticipated, just means we have some left for tomorrow too! The restaurant weren't particularly talkative, but were very busy. Despite ordering an hour in advance, the collection was not ready for the requested time. Although the freshness of the food made this worthwhile.
