Unfortunately, one of the worst curry’s I’ve ever had. Ordered the lamb tikka masala, the sauce was so granulated, it was like it was mixed with sand. I couldn’t eat it, I had naan bread and couldn’t dip in the sauce. My partner has chicken kurma and it was exactly the same. Straight in the bin. Never experienced anything like it before.

£4 nearly for a portion of chips no bigger then a kids McDonald's chips disgusting chicken hard and dry will never use this place again only gave 1 star as 0 is not a option

Really poor. We popped in one evening as a family when we couldn’t be bothered to cook. We heard from so many people this was the best Indian in Shenfield but left very disappointed. The restaurant & staff were lovely but the food did not match up. Our vote for best Indian in Shenfield goes to Empire over the road.

Very disappointed. I ordered a tandoori king prawn grill starter, which had only one king prawn! All for the princely sum of just shy of £7. I mistakenly ordered the king prawn biryani, which had 7 prawns, which were the size of shrimps, I really do kid you not (see photo). Then to add insult to injury we were charged an additional £4 for pickles with our popadoms, which were actually a portion size for 2 people instead of 4. I will not be returning.

Such a great Indian, I have eaten here a few times and never been disappointed. The food always arrives in good time, is still warm despite us living a fair journey away, and the flavours are absolutely gorgeous! I will never order from anywhere else again. Thank you! Order from here you will not be disappointed!

After visiting many times in the past, this will be my last visit. Spicy poppadoms were poor - hardly seeded at all and a bit stale tasting. Mango chutney was like a thin juice - no mango whatsoever. Tandoori chicken was a little dry too. Service great as always but please make your sauces better.

Never never disappoints. On time, freshly cooked. Good food.

£5 for 1 prawn lightly glazed with paprika and tons of red food colouring. Not worth it. Wouldn't 9rder agajn.

Awful curry just tasted like curry powder will never eat there again

Unfortunately this time the food lacked seasoning and was overly bland. The chicken tikka in the curries was overcooked. A disappointing takeaway for £40.

Food arrived early and very hot (just cooked) very tasty and filling highly recommended

Food turned up on the cold side of lukewarm. Plus the biggest surprise was it was very bland. We were disappointed as ‘takeaway’ Indian food is normally awesome and much better than we can cook. Not today. As with everything else nowadays it was also well overpriced. Korma plus rice and lamb dish plus rice and a naan bread £34??? £17 each for a basic Indian takeaway????

Each curry had approx 6 pieces of chicken in it and then a bowl full of sauce. How can you justify charging nearly £10 for a curry with 6 bites of chicken in it? Used to love it here but will never use again.

Excellent food brought quickly.

Portions are small for the price they charge. Food was okay but flavour lack in depth. Meat can be marinated for longer and potatoes was not freshly made.. Sad to say, but I will not order from again. Can get much better food from other Tandoori's for £60-

Food was ok, the curry was very dark red and not much sauce. Rice was ok. Not very cheesy sag peneer in comparison with other deliveries. The mozzarella cheese naan bread I could only eat one tiny bit because it was smothered in grease. I may rethink what I would order next time.

First time and last time I’m ordering from here. Missed out part of the meal, 40 minutes later the missing dish arrived and after a phone call with the restaurant the “boss” was due to call me, but I think this was forgotten too.

Was in there with friends last week. Food reasonable, but not as good as Empire across the road. For some reason it was cash only. Think we all know what that means. Waiter ‘made a mistake’ when counting the cash, so we had to count it again in front of him to prove the amount was correct. . Hmmmmm.

Very disappointed and left very annoyed. Started off with a booking for 9, they wanted to put us on two tables of 4 joined together with a bench so we said no. They did accommodate that. We ordered our food, I ordered lamb chops (£17). Four chops arrived, two looked decent size, two were pathetic with a mouthful on each. The two which looked decent size were in fact mainly fat. I took a bite out of one and was chewing for so long that I couldn’t swallow it. Without wanting to do anything revolting at the table I had to excuse myself to go to the bathroom as quickly as I could. No bins in the toilet either. I returned to the table and this time used my knife to try and cut the other chop, I would have needed a steak knife to stand a chance and that would have still been a struggle! I was the last to finish eating due to the issues above, that didn’t stop them clearing all the plates around me and were taking the table cloths off from either end, he even started tugging on the cloth of the table I was sitting on. I asked if they needed us to leave and he said no take ‘your time no rush’. This was around half 9/10 so not late and the restaurant wasn’t even half full so they didn’t need to turn the table. They stand round and look over your table. They had no issue leaning over me and nudging me to get to the plates they wanted to clear. The bill arrived, £310, beers were about £7 for a bottle of mongoose. In my opinion totally unreasonable pricing considering my £3 pint of coke came from a bottle that costs £2

The only thing that was hot was the potatoes, Naan cold, chicken tandoori cold, chips and sauce well it wasn't sauce it was just spice sludge. No sauce was involved, half a mint sauce and yeah not the best, sorry

I have been going to Shenfield Tandoori for years and they never disappoint. Outstanding food and always a warm welcome. Best Indian around for miles!

The food was not rich in flavour. Chicken a little dry but no where as much meat as would be expected in a curry. Chips were not nice either. Overall it was not the quality I was expecting paying £40+ for 2 mains.

Sorry to say but this has to be the worst food I have ever experienced. There was absolutely no flavour or depth to the curry or the korma sauce- Waste of just under £40. Sadly I thought I was ordering from the other ‘shenfield tandoori ‘ and after reading google reviews on this restaurant I’m gutted to say the least. Seems to be a popular complaint about the food to say the least. Won’t be using again and will advise others not to give this a try Maybe restaurant should read their reviews and amend their menu?

Very good food. We all enjoyed out meals. Nice friendly atmosphere. I thought the drinks were a bit pricey but most restaurant drinks are now. We would definitely go back.

Food turned up and there was oil leaking out of one of the food and covered all other food and bag in oil! Restaurant forgot bottle of drink and food was cold

The order was late, the food was dry and overcooked. The onion bhaji had been completely squashed and broken into pieces, making it almost inedible. Disappointingly despite having spent almost £80 there were no complimentary poppadoms provided either. I will not order a take away from this restaurant again.

No meat in meat dishes, food cold and tiny portions for the price they charge, take away boxes filled to significantly less than half way. Food was bland and the whole experience was definitely not worth the money

The coldest restaurant - we ate with our coats on, asked waiter why it was so cold? because it is cold outside. The food was tasteless - it had little or no taste, almost forgot I was eating Indian food!!!! AVOID AT ALL COST I should have read the signs - almost empty restaurant - POOR VERY POOR

Rang to arrange a booking last night and was confirmed by the restaurant for 20:45pm. I double checked as the journey was 15 miles. When we arrived I was told the table was not ready and we had to wait outside the kitchen for 5 min. This became 10, and then 15…..in the end we left and ate at the Empire across the road which was better. What I can’t stand is the lying, that they are prepared to take bookings knowing they are full just in case there is a cancellation. And then to continually say “another 2 minutes for the table” when I can clearly see it won’t happen. I’ve eaten here since Ramon and Manny opened it over 30 years ago, never again!!

It is understandable. The roads werre not good and the address is not so easy to find. Really nice delivery guy.

Sauce on Madras was watery and lacking chicken , otherwise all ok thank you 🙏🏼

Very disappointed with todays food. If you spend £40 + on a takeaway you should expect it to be a lot better. Some chicken was ok, other bits very dry and tough. The madras had very little spice and quite bland. Not the ideal way to keep loyal customers.

Food was ok, but was 45mins late. And we had pre-ordered in advance knowing a Friday night would be busy. Rang restaurant twice to ask them if we could have an update - and both times I was hung up on. Person at restaurant was extremely rude, offering no help, telling me they weren’t even on JustEat (clearly they are) and that I needed to check with the order provider. And then hung up. This happened twice. JustEat we’re very helpful, but I won’t order from Shenfield Tandoori again based on how rude the man at the restaurant was!

Onion Bhajis were inedible - ordered and paid for chicken tikka but received ordinary chicken- ordered madras veg curry but it was not madras !

The rice and the curry sauce were like mash, then when it settled it surrounded in water. Couldn’t even eat it. Garlic naan had no garlic on. Onion bhaji and poppadoms were nice.

Forgot one item but once I called them they had dropped it round within 5 mins and very apologetic.

Starter was nice. Poppadoms were old. Veg biriani was appalling. Shame. Used to be nice. Won't order again.

Stale Pappadums :-(. The spicy pappadums were great but the plain ones were clearly left overs. Not freshly cooked. Rest of the meal OK but sending stale food is not good.

I came here for a meal with an old workmate who had always spoken about the restaurant, and now I can see why. All of the food that we had was fantastic and the service was excellent. I've eaten curry my whole life since infancy, this has got to be one of the top three curry houses I've been to in the country.

Poisoned ! Went to ST, with wife and specifically ordered her a Vegetarian meal. (Paneer = type of cheese). They were too busy having there own dinner to care and delivered plate to table confirming it was Paneer. After several bites, my wife became sick and started complaining. They had given her Chicken instead. Upon complaining they seemed more amused than worried. Their attitude was disrespectful, and rude. Wife was sick and mentally / emotionally upset all evening. I cannot express how furious we are, and at no point has a decent apology been made!

Nice interior and good good. Starters were awesome and better than the mains (still nice though), had Cobra on draft instead of bottles 👍🏻

As I’m writing this I’m waiting for it to be delivered I’ve phone up 2 times already it’s taken over a hour and half an still ain’t arrived. only order from here if your hungry in a weeks time that’s how long it will take come

Insipid tasteless - felt rushed no attention to flavour. Butter chicken tikka was white sauce - weird …. Disappointing I’m afraid.

The food was very bland. Korma tasted of nothing at all - had to use the mint sauce to flavour the rice. Dansak very bland. Naan was ok but pretty burnt and cold. Duck tikka was good. Very disappointed.

We’ve tried most of the Indian’s in Brentwood area and have to say this is possibly the worst one we’ve had. Chicken curry and Pathia were both bland, extremely oily and the tins were barely half full. The tikka, instead of a strong red colour that we’re used to was orange, “squidgy” and pretty tasteless, probably could’ve done with another 5 minutes in the oven! The chips were cold and the portion size was 1/3 of what we usually get elsewhere, I actually thought they sent an onion bhaji by accident when I saw the bag of chips the portion was that small lol. The positives were the food turned up very quickly and the rice was ok but that’s about it.

I’m a curry chef! Part of a curry group. The food was awful they don’t make a base gravy probably out of a jar! The prawn saag dish was tasteless horrible. The rice was ok! Paid £30 but should have gone more professional and paid more

Although food was nice and service was quick the lack of professionalism from the staff is something to be questioned. A number of dishes were incorrect and almost made to think that it was the fault of us that the order was wrong. Although the order was rectified it felt like the staff thought this was a fault of ours rather than theirs. Would not return on the attitude of the staff.

I like to begin with a positive - food was fine, but no better than average. Dining experience - poor. Courtesy afforded us by the staff was severely lacking and fell short of expectations. The staff, management included, are in the wrong industry - hospitality that is. We will not visit again, nor recommend.

First time we’ve been here for many many months, we’ve always had good food and service previously but unfortunately this time it was mediocre. Food tasted good but it was warm not hot and the plates weren’t hot either. We had to get the attention of waiting staff to get more drinks but then they got sidetracked and forgot to come over. Hopefully a one off as it’s always been so good it the past.

Ordered a takeaway and was half hour late, food was cold and lamb was really chewy. Also spent £30 would be nice if you gave your customers some popadums with food like other Indian restaurants do.

Will not be ordering again it’s the third time they have been late when I phone the restaurant they say it’s on its way but still have a long wait

Our goto on Just Eat for Indian take away. Food is always fantastic, delivery always does it's best. Very pleased to be a regular customer.

Food luke warm Popadoms stale Chips re heated Barely any chicken in the vindaloo

Korma was a pale colour with the texture of semolina. Taste was bland and disappointing. Bombay potatoes tasted of boiled water. On the whole a disappointing meal.

Delivery was quick but food wasn’t amazing, not much flavour, luke warm

Brat curry had in a long time. Really fresh and tasty.
