Unique place and worth the drive. My daughter and I went for lunch (with a reservation). It's in a fairly remote location. The outside and inside of the building a pretty to look at. The jewelry store portion is dramatic, with high ceilings and pretty lighting. The dining room is lovely with lots of windows and church-themed chairs and benches. Even the table centerpieces with salt, pepper, and menus are noteworthy for their appearance. The service was friendly. The food was delicious. Definitely try the Orkney Ice Cream with the Orkney fudge and toffee flavor. I loved mine. The meal put smiles on our faces.

We visited at around 10:30 and were offered a choice of 2 tables, one for an hour and one for an hour and a half, as we hadn’t booked. We only went for a look around the gallery and a coffee. The building is beautiful from the outside, the architectural style of a n Orcadian Kirk but it feels cold when you enter. You have to walk through half the gallery to get to the cafe and then wait to be seated. On medical grounds I needed to use the disabled toilet as a matter of urgency however, my disability is not immediately apparent and I was escorted, and shown the ordinary ladies toilet. When I said I needed the disabled toilet I was shown it but with a ‘look’. The coffee menu was pricey but the coffee was very good, the cakes on offer very nice. Not a place I would return to, with or without booking, very disappointing. I found the whole experience cold and uncomfortable.

When visiting the Orkney Islands it is a "must" to visit Sheila Fleet to buy some of her wonderful jewelry and then relax in the adjoining café. The Gallery and Café are in a converted church but Sheila has used her design skills in all aspects of the build, furnishings and culinary decorations, much of her designs being reflected therein. But the upcycling of the stained glass windows from the kirk into the seating which is modular and designed to look like a Viking longship when put together is astounding. The food is great here too. The girls serving are just brilliant.

Visited the Kirk Gallery and cafe while on our holiday on Orkney Islands. Booked online a few days ago before our visit for lunch and thankfully we did as not many time slots available. Staff were very friendly and attentive and food and coffee were delicious. Had a lovely lunch in a very busy cafe. Finished off my visit by treating myself to some jewellery.

This jewelry showroom is in a converted kirk and the conversion has been done beautifully with no expense spared. From the bespoke metalwork and furniture , through the presentation of the jewelry and other crafts, to the food - everything is of the highest quality. In the (restaurant quality) cafe it was busy and you can see why they advise booking. The menu was not complex cooking, but everything we had was very tasty and beautifully presented. My Orkney platter was a great showcase of local meats and cheese. If they had let the dogs in the cafe it would have been a 5 star review. As it was they pointed us to the quietest part of the carpark so they would be least disturbed. As well as Sheila's jewelry, which is stunning , the upstairs gallery has a range of mainly local crafts. I could have spent a lot here, but I left that to the better half.

Am going to have to buck the trend and say that we expected a lot from this place based on all the glowing reviews. However, we found the service in the cafe very hit and miss on the day we were there: being disorganised might have been understandable if they had been under pressure due to sheer number of customers, but they were nowhere near full. Credit where it's due though, as the food was tasty and the menu offered a lot of choice.

I was here primarily to look at the jewellery. I'd followed Sheila Fleet's collections for over 20 years, but this was the first time I had visited her main shop and cafe. It is stunning - the attention to the decorative detail is superb. My sister and I had tea and cake which was delicious. We were also very fortunate to get a workshop tour from an extremely knowledgeable and delightful young person. To top it all we even met the designer and her son! So pleased we decided to go ,it is well worth it if you do :)

Stunning building , I’ve heard so many good things about eating here and have eventually tried it for myself . We were very fortunate to arrive unannounced and be seated within 5 minutes ( highly recommended booking in advance to avoid disappointment) . Extensive lunch time menu , there really is something for everyone . The most wonderful part of our menu choosing was our gluten free family member been given her own menu , with a large variety of things to choose from , small things make such a difference to people with specific dietary requirements ! A must visit !!!

Two of us chose crab rolls, third had chicken katsu burger and they made a delicious plain salad sandwich for fourth who prefers plain fare. All came with delicious side salad. Best burger ever was the verdict and the others really enjoyed their choices. Service was good and delivered with a smile. Recommend.

This is the type of place that could be found in any Sunday colour supplement magazine, its interior has been designed to within an inch of its life. The ambience very muted, the service very genteel. The food was good though as others have pointed out, somewhat over-priced. We had the cheese platter (featuring local Orkney cheeses) which was nice though the cheese were mild (I would have liked to have seen a strong pungent cheese!). There were some lovely looking cakes but due to late arrival of the cheese platter, we didn't manage to sample. In short, it's the sort of place to bring your grandmother for a birthday treat - but go and see your bank manager first.

After experiencing some poor meals in Orkney, we were delighted to find somewhere making the most of the local produce. The menu had a good choice and I thoroughly enjoyed my crab roll and the cheese platter I shared with my husband. We had a piece of cake each to go, which was definitely the right choice as they were delicious. The staff were all friendly and efficient and the setting is lovely. Being able to browse the jewellery - which I've loved since I was given my first piece over 20 years ago - was a huge bonus. Highly recommend booking in advance to make sure you get a table.

From my taste & preference, I like Sheila Fleet’s work better than that of any other silversmith I’ve come across in Orkney. Her spare sense of style in silver design is echoed by her striking transformation of a former church into a gallery and cafe....

Lovely to see all the jewellery, crafts and giftware displayed in such a lovely building, the Kirk retains the stained glass window and the cafe has some of the pews, you do not feel pressured within the gallery and are free to just amble around...

Lovely food in a beautiful environment. Just glorious and never disappoints. I walked all the way out from Kirkwall this visit and demolished a toastie and an enormous slab of cake. Perfect.

This cafe is up towards Graham Place from the main street. We enjoyed soup, toasties, coffees and two slices of a deliciously moist chocolate cake before setting off for the St Margaret's Hope ferry. It was very relaxed with a friendly atmosphere, with local artwork on the walls, some for sale. Service was excellent and we would recommend this as somewhere to eat after visiting the town's excellent museum.

Adorable little ice cream shop in Nazareth. Get your ice cream fix with a layer of 50's vibe added in thanks to the decor and music played. From a normal twist, black raspberry, or pumpkin soft style (current choices), to a long list of hard ice cream flavors (teaberry included), to milkshakes and sundaes, there are plenty of choices for any ice cream lover. 🍦🍨🥤

By far the best choice for dinner in Kirkwall. The lamb curry was one of a kind. Service staff super friendly and great selection of beers and surprising cocktail variety. Make sure to stop by!

We had dinner there twice during our stay in Kirkwall. The food was superb both times. The venue and the service were excellent. Highly recommended.
