Went on sat 29/7/24 and ordered 2 haddock , chips & onion rings came to £17 which was very reasonable. Food was freshly made , piping hot & good portions. Haddock was excellent. Will definitely be back!

Started going here on a recommendation and don't go anywhere else now. The fish is really fresh and always a handful of chips thrown in if they have them. Great taste and generous portions. Would recommend their pasties aswel which are made & battered by themselves, they're delicious! Spotlessly clean place and i'd definitely recommend.

Been here before covid,so thought I will try again. I rang in order of haddock fish and onion rings. Took a few minutes more after I arrived to be ready. Took it to eat in camper van. When I opened it I was disappointed in the small fish without not even a chip. Like wise about 6 onion rings. Now the fish was so lovely and fresh with crispy batter. At £4.00 cheap but too small. Like wise the onion rings were ok but small portion. Such a pity,as I usually get from the harbour chip vans. Still it was busy and I may go back again.

The Philly steak with mushrooms and pepper sauce special was really great and got a very good fish with thick chips too. Nice clean shop. Could do with putting a pic of their menu up online.

On a cisit to Asda here in Kilkeel I needed something for my tea. So I spotted this carry out open. I ordered a portion of scampi and a small burger with onions. I then drove to the sea front to eat. The burger at £2.00 was fine but the scampi at £4.00 was superb. Light and fresh in a crumbed coating. Best I ever tasted. Well worth a drive in the future just for scampi. Staff are friendly and it is clean and efficient. Fully recommended.

Since Sharkys has changed ownership the food has been outstanding. Would have to say it's the nicest in Kilkeel. I especially recommend the haddock. Don't be afraid to ask the friendly staff for recommendations.. A must visit if in the town.

We are regular visitors to cranfield in our caravan and always can't wait for a "Chippy tea" from sharkys, from the fish to the burgers and the chips I'm yet to sample anything that isn't of the highest quality, also all the sauces and gravy are the best I've tasted, well done to the owner and his staff, it's hard nowadays to get a good chip shop, so a big well done from a happy family..

I was unfortunate enough to finally venture into this place today, against my better judgment. I opted to try the fish and chips, considering kilkeel is a fishing port town with fresh catch and produce. It had all the makings of an thoroughly enjoyable meal. Regrettably, it was clearly not as expected. The 'chips', for want of a better expression, were reheated, soggy and rather bland. The fresh catch completely lacked flavour and substance. Any attempt to cut the food resulted in pools of lard and grease. There was more batter than fish! In the end I didn't finish the food and opted to go elsewhere and try again. Needless to say, I shall not be returning. Such a pity. As takeaway food outlets go, it was quite clean and modern. It could and should have been so much better.

I have to say unfortunately this wee place is like a lot of other places in Kilkeel not very nice. Just tasteless greasy bland cheap bought produce. It seems if you want a decent take away you have to outside Kilkeel, how hard is it to make decent food these days. So for me I will make a point of not returning to any of them.

Staying in Newcastle and we looked for a coeliac friendly takeaway and found The Galley. Staff could not have been more helpful in making sure our order was perfect and went above and beyond. Got two gluten free goujon meals and the food was incredible, the best gluten free chippy we've ever had with lovely gravy to go with it. Could not recommend more

Quality has dipped slightly over last year so has portion size. Staff friendly and polite.
