Shapla Tandoori in East Riding of Yorkshire

Went here for a takeaway and did not feel very welcome. Food was OK, though nothing special and they were unable to accept cards for months due to 'techincal difficulties'. There's much better food, service and management available locally.

Had a really good takeout from here. Absolutely lovely curry. They have a comprehensive menu and the guys are more than happy to talk you through the options. A little more expensive than I'm used to but the quality made up for that. Very happy and I already use regularly.

Went for a takeout, ordered a lamb bhuna, rice, garlic naan and some onion bhajii. Really quick service considering everything is cooked from scratch, not bad pricing at all and they offer deals on certain nights. Recommended.

We were so looking forward to our Curry and what a disappointment! Both of our curries were bland!! And my chicken was tough as old boots, cooked and then the sauce poured over, the side dish was bland also, The rice, bread and free popadoms were the best bit.....pretty sad that! Order a curry, wait ages expecting something decent and bland! Menu went in the bin, you've lost customer's...I hope you improve for other people's sake.

Now a regular visitor. Staff (usually the same man) friendly, always remember me, I ask for advice on ingredients and dishes. Staff give knowledgeable recommendations which have been accurate. I like to try different things on the menu, they are always happy to adjust the heat of a dish to taste which shows it’s cooked fresh. A good meal deal on Thursdays I think? Quality dishes with fresh ingredients, can highly recommend.

I had been told about this takeaway by a friend, although my husband thoroughly enjoyed his meal, I as a vegetarian ordering the rogan josh felt it didn't hit the spot at all, it just tasted like tomatoes with no spice at all, I would like to see more vegetarian options on the menu too

When I lived in hedon this place was my favourite place to go for any takeaway. Delivery service was slow but food quality was amazing

We are regulars eaters on a weekend but decided to try the Thursday night special. We had Sheek kebab starter. Chicken tikka jalfrezi, sag aloo, pilau rice & a garlic nan all for just £10. More than enough for us both & was brilliant. Well worth a try. The staff are always friendly & our food is always spot on. Happy to support our local Indian takeaway

Been meaning to try this since we moved to the area a couple of years ago, glad we finally did. The food was excellent, reasonable sized portions, prices about the same as most other Indian take away's. I tried the Kuzuri which I've never heard of but would recommend. Worth a try if you're in the area, highly recommended.

Still turning out some really great Asian food. The only takeaway I use in Hedon. The Jalfrezi packs a real punch, whilst still being tasty. My other half likes the passander the best of any she's tried around the country. Very friendly staff.

Please to say my last couple of visits have seen a good improvement. Always a decent size of portions and service is always good. I believe they now do home delivery.

Had the Chicken Vindaloo (korma hot) and the chicken nun (upon request). Not many people can accommodate to my taste requirements but I must say it was just how I wanted it. Food was tasty and came on time.

Just ordered a curry and rice for a reasonable £9. Went to pick it up and was pleasantly surprised by the young man behind the counter who offered us their Thursday Night deal for £10. This consisted of a starter, a main, a side dish, a rice and a nan bread. Basically I got three extra things for an extra £1. Fantastic deal and the food was spot on.

Came up here on business. Had the takeaway delivered to my hotel. Came within 25 minutes of ordering. Great food and service all round.

We were very dissapointed we spent £23 and my Tandoori suprise was what it said!! No tandoori at all...there was a bone in it which i think should have had some chicken on it...my hubbies curry tasted of nothing and the chips were so hard even the birds didn't eat them the next day. Will not be going back again.

Myself and partner ordered the special deal on the menu for one person and was pleasantly surprised at the amount of food. There was more than enough for two people to share and the quality was good.

This is a place I have been to a few times and have not been disappointed.

Super service rang my order through for collection told 20 minutes arrive on time to find curries ready. Korma, tandoori mixed grill veg rice and garlic nan breads pipping hot food and delicious! Well worth the money, reasonably priced too. We'll done to all.

Pretty average curry, cannot compare with the curry houses over in the West Riding but the place has improved from last time I visited.

Have used Shapla on a regular basis for many years now & the food is consistently good. My favourite is the Naga chicken. The staff are always very friendly. This take away is a great asset to Hedon & long may it continue

Food always fresh, tasty and good size portions. The only negative aspect for me is even though ordered by telephone still waiting quite some time for order to be ready when you go to collect it.

Used the place for quite a while,They always have been up to my expectations,Delivery is also quite punctual.

We have been using shapla for years ever since it opend and always delivered a first class meal and service so personal they always remember our name when we go to collect

We've been eating Shapla for years. They even made a curry especially for my other half who wanted an authentic " hot" curry. We had great fun watching him eat it (and the sweat on his head and tears in his eyes) Always good food!
