Shanghai Chinese Take Away in County Durham

Really good food and the ONLY take away in the area to cater for vegetarians and vegans. Ordered from here several times now and I've been impressed every single time.

Beautiful food, fairly priced, very fast delivery time, one of the best Chinese takeaways in the area.

Ordered and picked up £20 worth, curry, noodles, chips etc. woman on the desk is miserable and felt like everything was an effort picked up on time and went home to discover chips were hard and no potatoe inside, curry was extremely thick and grease was separated. Noodles were plain. Rang the Chinese and lady answered and said she just had the curry and herself and said it was salty and not hot! Wow! And then said we might have had a different batch of it yet ours was before hers within the space of 20 mins tbh I hope it’s a different batch as it all should be freshly made!

Got takeaway tonight got order wrong when called and spoke to lady behind the desk she didn’t seem to bothered and when in collecting very rude. Some of the food was far too oily and satay sauce far too spicy. Would not Recommend

Had delivery food was warm curry sauce to spicy for Chinese curry chipsmust have been cooked a while as they were dry and hard .it was cold when delivered

Tonight was full of flavor - full of burntness. Used to be a lovely take out but this was the second time we've received burnt food. I’m keeping an eye out for days and times this happens!

Ordered at 5:40, 2 hours and 40 minutes later no food arrived! Phoned up and they hadn’t even bothered to write down the order and wanted to take it again. Only positive is that they agreed their service was pathetic.

Had my delivery order refused twice, despite my living in an area that Shanghai claim to cover - very unimpressed; Shanghai should update their list of delivery areas, since said list is clearly outdated,

Firstly my order came 2 hrs and 40 mins after I ordered but the food is lush

The salt and pepper prawns are my favourite. And you get lots. But everything else is nice there. Just not keen on the chips, but everything else is nice

I am only writing this review to try and warn others away from this terrible place. The amount you pay for the quality you receive is laughable, as if the owners line up at the reduced section in ASDA/Tesco for their daily produce. Special mention for the chips we were given, they were so rock hard and old that I think they must have been deep fried 200 years ago during the reign of the Qing dynasty. Food is Nice, but the Woman on the phone is the most rudest women I've ever spoke to in a takeaway shop. Really dont think she suits the Job title, she needs to learn manors and not be so rude to customers. It puts me off even ringing up and shes even put several friends off. Calling up. She always gets my order wrong.

Order tonight spent £40 what a absolute disgrace chips and gravy came and the gravy was black as the roads with big lumps in it no one would eat it tastes like it had some kind of sauce in it wouldn't feed the dogs it rang and complained to get him saying it should be ok ill give u a discount next time told him ya ok mate I wont be ordering again...... totally disgusting

Ate here tonight as i was craving chinese food🤦🏻‍♀️ Got soft noodles chips and gravy, other people i was with had the same but with curry. the sauce tasted like weetabix

What a fantastic takeaway, food always lovely especially the house special Szechuan. cartons always packed to bursting point. unlike green villa with there measly portions, keep it up Shanghai

Our local and usual takeaway. Had the chicken and noodle soup... beautiful... beef thai red curry this evening with chips and fried rice between 2 of us. More than enough for 2. Absolutely delicious. Have tried other places but Shanghai always comes top... even got my night shirt co worker ordering 😊

A bit disappointed as the food seem to went downhill. It wasn't how it use to be.

Ordered 2 starters and 2 mains at 7pm. Still waiting for delivery at 9. We only live in Wingate!

Ordered house special curry, when it arrived, all it had in was onions no meat, never eat from this place again ever.

nice scran here but they let themselves down by occasionally sending me the wrong order...4 times now i've ordered chicken egg foo young and received house special,,it's becoming a bit of a problem to say the least

A nice meal with enough food for two meals in the one serving.

Food was nice descent price and amount only criticism is 1 hour 35 minutes delivery time for a journey 15 minutes away would probably collect rather then delivery again. Edited regular problems with this place takes over hour and half for deliveries everytime they just can't take the orders

The receptionist is rude and needs sacking! I've heard her talking to people in the shop with no respect or politeness and I've just experienced it myself.... not Happy!!! Shame, cos the food is nice. Won't be ordering again!!!

Probably the worst curry i have had in a long time. There was more fat on the chicken than meat, sauce was really bland... its cheap for a reason

What a result. Actually found a Chinese takeout that's quick with orders clean and really top tasting grub. It won't be the last time I order from Shanghai! May 2016
