ShakeBox Diner Milkshake Bar in Central Bedfordshire

I was in town with my daughter and husband, we wanted an ice cream and found this place was open. We should have actually walked straight pass, the hygiene is no existent. No one wears PPE, one employee walked in in his motorbike gear, didn't wash his hands and started handling food and equipment. He then late his friend into the food prep area so he could use the bathroom. The lady manning the tile, whist no prepping food, kept on touching her face. There are markings on the floor but it seems that it's just for show. They've obviously rushed to reopen but didn't bother reading the basic government's guidelines with regards to COVID-19. Avoid this place!!!

when my brother visited once after school it led to a lot of issues. My brother ordered a Oreo shake or something like that, he said that he told them about his nut allergy , (but he could of lied because he didn’t want to get in trouble with my mum!) but from what he said a guy took his order and because the machines were loud it was hard and my brother got a Reece’s pieces milkshake by mistake. Completely scared the hell out of all of us as he had a bad reaction and we’ve always been very careful because of how serious the allergy is. I still think this place is great!! And he still goes all the time with mates and by himself, but I just think maybe you should turn your machines off if possible when people are ordering or maybe ask everyone if they have any allergies, a lot of teenagers don’t want to make a fuss or mention it. I still visit and my brother still visits regularly as he loves the shakes. The place is super clean and the food and drinks are great, as well as the workers are lovely to talk to.

I went in at lunchtime but it was busy. I fully get it would be such. But they should have a ticket number system in place or have just one person making drinks and another taking orders. The tables also were dirty and they need to spend more effort cleaning them. The drink itself was ok but the overall offering was average.

I often come here with a group of my friends, to be honest it’s the best milkshake place in town. The drinks are always served super quick and they never seem to fail my tastebuds, whenever I’m in town I always make sure to come in, 100% recommend.

Just read the owners review to my review. Full of lies. I did not get a refund for the food I’m still waiting on them serving. As for knowing they only had Diet Coke, he expects us to know his stock, no one looked any fridge. Finally no excuse for serving a 7up ice Cream float with reduced sugar (saccharin) after again being told allergy to saccharin.. also lied about shop being full there was one other table in the shop. Man Is dilussional, but should have realised this after reading how he dealt with other complaints. Very lucky I never took legal action.

The staff and owner are really friendly, I trust that they will look after my children when they are not with me visiting the bar. The hotdogs are gorgeous and the milkshakes are worth the calories. We have held a birthday party here too and it was great fun, the children really enjoyed it. We just couldn't get through all the food as the portions are generous.

As much as the kids like the milkshakes it took the person in there 16 minutes to make 3 milkshakes. Well actually all 3 came out at the same time So technically 15 minutes doing nothing and 1 minute to make 3. No wonder the place is empty. At that rate that's £39 an hour they're taking. So I'd guess it will be closed before November. Avoid like the plague

Aweful place. Ordered a coke float, they served Diet Coke float (I’m allergic to sweeteners). Luckily my daughter in law noticed and ordered a Sprit replacement, after explaining I can’t have that, only to be served with a reduced sugar one (with sweeteners). Obviously cancelled, manager came over and three times he was asked to leave it before I ended up getting up and walking out of the shop. Still no food that I ordered and no refund. Be avoiding this place like the plague in future. Aweful service, aweful managementj.

Since my last review of this place it has moved into a bigger premises and expanded their menu and I have been quite the regular customer! Now I don’t only get a milkshake and go I can come in with my children put them in the high chairs provided (very helpful) and can indulge in a waffle, cookie dough, nachos or even a crepe (which my 3 year old loves!) This place always has fantastic customer service and never disappoints with the quality of their products. I have newly become fond of their passionstorm smoothie which is great in this heat if you want something lighter than a milkshake and also their ice cream bowls which are great if you’re on the go. One of the best independent shops in Leighton Buzzard.

While some may say this is more of a shake with coffee in it, it certainly is more tasty and with a better consistency than most any frappe you can find around England. I wouldn't be surprised if the actual calorie count isn't really all that different either. As it was describe to me, the coffee shake has two shots of espresso in it. I would take their coffee shake over a frappe or frappacino any day! My wife had a berry shake that was also very tasty. Extremely friendly and considerate service too.

I visited with my 4 year old daughter and parents for an afternoon treat. Two of us had the nachos which were okay my daughter had a hot dog which she didn’t eat as it was very dry like it had been in the oven all day. I had a Nutella waffle which was very nice and large with plenty of toppings. There is a large selection of milkshakes and smoothies. Could do with closing the doors on a winter afternoon we were all a bit cold!

Took my niece here on a Saturday lunchtime was my first time in this place, we both had hotdogs and a milkshake, I had onions on my hotdog, well I thought they were onions, but frankly most disgusting thing I've ever seen or eaten and they just fall of the roll and sausage. Would it be that difficult to fry some up fresh? The staff calling out your number when the order is ready - noticed most of the time that customers didn't here them first time around. Maybe install an Argos style screen to tell you when to collect. Finally no bins to put your rubbish in when you've finished. Felt guilty for just leaving it on the table. Milkshakes though were ACE!

The friendly welcome you get from the staff at ShakeBox is the best. The range of tasty snacks and drinks are delicious, from chocolate bar milkshakes to chocolate waffles,everything on the menu is tasty. The colour and seating give a happy vibe to the place. I'm positive you will enjoy popping in for a drink or snack at ShakeBox.

The staff were too busy to aknowledge our presence and there was no manners and no guidence of whether you chose a table, your left to just stand there. But the milkshake was very nice

We visit Shakebox whenever we can. Staff are lovely and friendly, I find the milkshakes a bit sickly but my children love them. However I do love the coffees and hot chocolates. It's always packed and rarely without a queue.
