Shahi Qila in Birmingham

Table on side was cleaned & we received what we ordered really quickly. Main dish could have done with being a bit more spicy but it was a nice meal and mango lassi and starter was good. All in all, satisfying evening meal. Cost about £30 for the two of us. Toilets were also quite clean but the hand dryer didn't work so well.

Went with family to dine in They were fast to ask if we needed our food packed We ordered appetisers and mains but couldn't order desserts and felt rushed to eat They kept coming asking if we were OK and if we needed anything, They packed our mains but didn't pack our appetisers Overall service messed it up but food was good Customer point of view would be to let customers to it and when they are ready they will call you over The restaurant wasn't even busy we got there at 5pm 27th January 2023

Food was great with real desi taste and service was 10/10 my family had a great time they really enjoyed it will be coming back soon.

We waited over an hour to get our food. Some of it came cold and it was getting incredibly late and we had a two hour drive home coming. They brought the wrong order out. The food came out so late that the kids were falling asleep. They forgot more than half of the order! One staff member was lacking any kind of kindness. Ridiculous! Never returning again!

Chicken steak was indeed a good choice we made it was very well cooked and value for money for the price paid, must have Lamb Karahi here won’t be disappointed at all, a little slow service by staff although it was a weekday.

I normally dont write reviews but the staff annoyed me so much i had to write this Just like the previous reviews staff are rude when you go to a RESTAURANT u expect to be wined and dined on not a waiter telling you go and order your food we are busy whilst the manager is doing nothing behind counter when the restaurant is not that busy if they want to act like a takeaway change the fancy outfits and prices if you want people to spend £50-60 plus learn how to treat the customers avoid people there are plenty of places in bham who will treat you like gold

Went to Shahi Qila first time yesterday with family, we had been greeted By thier Manager at the door and he took our order buy himself and explained all the menu and recomend karahi, steak and grills. We ordered large mix grill, beef steak and full lamb karahi and trust me all were spot on. Full of taste and tender meat, especially karahi won the show. I do not write review normally but this shahi qila impressed me alot from the start which made me write this review. Speciall thanks to the Manager and all the staff to make this visit very memorable. My permanent place for desi food and steak!!! Recommended to everyone must try....

Went there today and I ordered a chicken tikka masala they said they don’t do it. So they offered me something similar but it won’t be made fresh , so I took the chance, it come out as a chicken Balti. I told them that I wanted a masala and I showed them a picture ( it’s supposed to be red) then he told me they do it but it will cost £16 so I decided to give them a chance. When it come out it come exactly the same as the £10 one I confronted them about this and I was told that’s what you ordered. I showed them pictures on Google of what it looks like and they still didn’t understand. Staff was rude water was warm. Shocking won’t be coming again.

Rude, over priced & uneatable food! Avoid at all cost! Rude staff, filthy inside, sticky/greasy floors, tables & chairs. Staff can't/don't understand simple instructions i.e asked for well done lamb chops but was served sheep chops and they were very chewy and tasteless. Tried to explain this to the so called boss/manager who totally ignored me and start shouting instructions to his under aged staff and then said "WHAT", so this shows how much they care! Don't be deceived by the pictures the actual grill platter and curries are disgusting and look nothing like the pictures, also mouldy glasses and plates. Very filthy toilets as well, I wouldn't even let my dog use these facilities!. This place has no idea of hygiene I'm astonished they are allowed to operate as a restaurant business. Avoid at all cost, I have been in touch with food hygiene agency in relation to this, Birmingham council have said they will investigate the matter as soon as possible. Right in the middle of ladypool Rd. This is the place if you love desi food. There desi karahi out of this world. Everything else pretty good too.

We were in Birmingham for the night up from Essex & recommended to eat at the restaurant as our friend said it was very authentic food. Wow, we were blown away. We asked the waiter for recommendations from the menu & everything we had was wonderful! Really, really beautiful food & served fresh & piping hot from the kitchen. The staff were cheery & attentive, the portion sizes were just right for us & we would definitely be back next time we’re in Birmingham. Thank-you for a lovely meal!

The restaurant was pretty functional in appearance. It didn’t look anything special. A bit quiet, only two other families eating but it was 5:30pm on a Thursday. Reassuring to see Asian people eating - tells me that it’s authentic. My family had never had Balti before so we had to have it explained. The food arrived quickly and was very tasty. The quantity was just right. The lamb balti was very tender as was the chicken. Very pleased. I’m scoring it 4/5 as the atmosphere was a little flat and the decor wasn’t anything special. But the food and service were good!!

Visited this place on a Monday evening and were very hungry and stumbled across this beauty of a gem. We were greeted by a very helpful waiter who sat us down and we then were straight away served with water which was excellent. We then proceeded to order and ordered a lamb karai chicken jalfrezi, large mixed grill and shami kebab. Everything was perfect and I was very happy with everything which we had received. All the food had great taste to it and we could tell everything was freshly prepared for us. Defo will visit again when in Bham and will recommend to other people.

Went here on a Thurday around 7pm. Was a bit worried food might not be fresh as midweek visit. Need not have worried. Clean place. Lovely young man served us lamb karahi and chicken achari, lamb chops, chicken pakora and sheesh. Fresh and lovely tasting. Roti piping hot.
