We had 3 meals on Friday 29th Dec. I am sorry to say. There was no taste to the meal. One dish, had fragments of chicken bone in it. I will not be useing it again

Very very long wait for some really rather mediocre food. Lots of customers so everything should be fresh and hot. I'm very surprised seeing some of the other reviews but I'm in no rush to return.

Best Indian takeaways there is!! Food is lovely every time we order and very consistent, but it very disappointing they can't deliver across the road when kids are in bed asleep... especially when we order £52+ and also no delivery service and can not pay over the phone because they don't have the facility to do so. It's 2023, not 1999. They have a proper card machine. Put the amount in, take long card number, expiry date, and then 3 digits on the back, and if it asks for the postcode type numbers in.

The best indian in town by far! amazing food every single time we order, they have never let us down with missing items or poor quality compared to other local places. Excellent customer service, so professional and take so much pride in their work. 100% recommend

We have always use Shahi mahal and have had excellent meals . Unfortunately today's takeaway wasn't up to their usual standard . Food was dry and had very little taste and lukewarm even though we live 3 minutes away. Very disappointed.

After reading all the reviews from here we couldn’t wait to try the food! Service was great and the guy who was front of house was so friendly but I’ve got to say some of the food wasn’t as good as we were hoping. We collected and considering it’s only a 3-4 minute drive back to our house some of the items were almost cold by the time we arrived home. The chicken tikka masala was amazing - probably the best one I’ve had in the area! The nan breads were delicious too. But a couple of the other dishes were quite bland and just didn’t live up to our expectations. Despite this we will probably try again and hope things are better next time.

Best take away Indian meal I've had. Will definitely be returning very soon. 4 years on and still the best.

What can I say shahi mahal is still the best Indian takeaway I have ever tasted.Ive lived in Scartho village for over 30 years and the amazing aromas from their kitchen make it impossible to resist ordering every week. Big thank you to Ray, Shuman and staff for their service to the village for all these years 😀

Eaten here many times when staying here, never had a bad meal until last night. Ordered mixed starter for 2, meat was definitely not cooked fresh, onion baji greasey and falling apart. Main no flavor or taste, 4 chapati all under cooked and most of it still raw dough.

Usually rave about this establishment,used for a long time this time was not one of the best,hopnect will have improved

Hidden gem of an Indian takeaway. Tucked away down a small side street off Louth Road - Grimsby, sits the Shahi Mahal. From the street its understated shop front gives you little indication of the sheer quality and value of this little restaurant. Stepping through the door you're greeted with a compact waiting room with traditional decor and an inviting atmosphere. The staff member on front of house is always smart and friendly as well as being efficient with the ordering process. We order a set meal for one and it easily feeds two adults with left overs. All the curries are piping hot and delicious. The set meal for one comes with one main, a side of bombay alloo (potatoes), rice, naan and a poppadoms plus dip. Definitely worth a visit if you live in the area.

No one makes Indian food as good as this in Grimsby. I’ve tried them all and shahi mahal is the best. I had the chicken sana special that has a mango chutney flavour which is perfect for people are more interested in good flavour rather than hot and spicy dishes. If you’re one of those people that fancy an Indian but have no idea what it is you fancy, trust me it’s this. Staff all friendly and helpful, I didn’t know what to have but Ray recommend the sana special and it’s my new favourite dish. Couldn’t recommend highly enough. ❤️❤️❤️

The food is always consistently very good but the manner of the guy on reception is very poor. He comes across miserable and arrogant and anything seems an effort for him if you need anything extra or help. If it wasn’t for this I’d of given 4 stars

Absolutely lovely place... Staff are very welcoming and polite. Food is fantastic...id never eaten here before and have been dissapointed with alot of the takeaways in the area... Drove past this place saw it by accident... Had asked around and heard it was good so had to try it for myself! Wasn't dissapointed! Food is lovely... Reasonably priced fast service.. Very happy will return!

Our go to curry place has been for 17 years. The depth of flavours in their Curries are on another level 👍

Rather bland taste wise tbh. Staff really pleasant. Not to the same standard I remember it several years ago

Very disappointed in my meal from tonight, lacked flavour and the prawns were small. Considering this was ordered as one of the specialities it left alot to be desired. The mango chutney had more flavour to it than my dish. Not sure we will travel so far in future for a takeaway.

Had many Indian meals (including a trip to India last year), I was visiting relatives and I’m always apprehensive about straying away from my “tried & tested” But this takeaway was excellent, had the mixed tikka bhuna, meat was tender & full of flavour. Service was quick & the guy was really friendly & polite. Will be visiting again when I’m over & would definitely recommend it.

Very nice food. Authentic taste. Maybe small and they don't do deliveries but probably the best in Grimsby. Try the chicken jalfrezi.

Not sure if we had a bad batch of chicken but all four curries were full of terrible quality chicken, grissly and even a couple of bones!! If that's how it's meant to be there should be warnings about it being on the bone as we wouldn't have wasted so much money on it. Sauce and naans were good but not much good if bad meat to eat it with.

Went to this take away for the first time and will definitely return. Food was wonderful and tasty, filling and good quality bits of meat. Onion Bhajis were mah-hoosive! Great customer service who even walked us to the door!!!

Really nice. I had the chicken korma and mushroom rice. Loads of big chunks of chicken in it. My husband had chicken dupiaza and pilla rice. Loads of chicken in it too. Plus we had a keema naan bread. Very tasty.

Brilliant food great service can not fault the food at all . Only downfall is they don't deliver . I don't live far but sometimes you just fancy a take away and a phone call rather than a drive out would be brilliant. Still it's well worth the drive .

Excellent takeaway (they don't deliver but well worth the walk/drive). Some of the best food in Grimsby if not the best. Unfortunately we don't get to go here as much anymore. But whenever we're about we try to stop in. Service is at the heart of everything they do and they really do do it well!
