Have been a loyal customer for 15 years but last night was an absolute joke ordered through their website to try their new menu that isn't on the delivery apps and honestly it was the most disappointing Indian meal I've ever had in my life. The brie was basically melted cheese sauce, the chicken liver was only 2 pieces and under cooked with some soggy bread that was also inedible. The curry i ordered was the wrong one and the lamb was so far beyond over cooked that not even a dog would have been able to chew it and to top it all off it was over 2 hours to get it delivered when I stay 12 minutes away and kept getting fobbed off by management that it would be delivered when it wasn't being. Honestly after years of using this place I was extremely disappointed on the quality of the food especially undercooked chicken which is dangerous and the poor attitude of the management knowing full well I was a loyal customer. Won't be bothering again after a waste of £50 to be 2 hours late and mostly inedible.

Disappointing delivery time in comparispm to previous orders. Took around 1hr 25 mins from order time to delivery. Food quality was as good as normal, just disappointed with delivery time :(

Starters and Main Courses Excellent, Garlic Naan Was A Bit Soggy

We are good customers, order every 2nd weekend, but last night our food delivery was an hr late and we sisnt receive our dips for our poppadoms. Our curries are always very good, but sadly dissapointed about the service last night

First time here, but will probably come back - crispy and fresh poppadoms, biryani was well spiced and came with a sauce (which is rarely included at other restaurants), beer was refreshingly cold. Very affordable for the quality, and friendly staff, too!

It's hard to express how much we enjoyed our meal at Shahbaaz. Everything about the time we spent there was absolutely fantastic. A beautifully presented restaurant with decor that's both subtle and fascinating, attentive, polite and fun staff that were a pleasure to chat with. The food was excellent, too. A really good variety with lots to choose from beyond the Indian Restaurant classics, and what we ordered was cooked perfectly and presented beautifully. How they bring this all together and offer such good value for money is truly beyond me. Can't recommend the place enough and we'll certainly be back.

Poppadums were not threshed. Not crispy but chewy. Prawn puri starter wasn’t great. Not a lot of filling. My main course felt like 2 sauces together and chicken was not great. I’m afraid I doubt I’ll be back

Having dined in the restaurant and enjoyed several takeaways, I can highly recommend this establishment for its service and high quality food. The portions are generous and reasonably priced but more importantly the dishes have been well thought out and successfully blend subtle tastes with the just the right amount of heat expected from the curry of choice. The staff are friendly and helpful - well worth a visit to sample a tasty, different and unique kind of curry experience.

We have had people tell us the food here is amazing so ordered for a Friday night treat. We were really disappointed. Both kormas were fairly tasteless with too much cream and our 2 rice sides (coconut rice and egg rice) were also quite tasteless. The poppadoms and naan breads were really good though! Just really disheartening about our mains after hearing such good reviews before. Delivery time was good.

Mild curry's too spicy. No mango based curry, seems like one was removed. Not clear enough re use of almonds and nut allergy. Does a peshwari naan contain almond paste, or not?

Excellent food, quick delivery, driver was nice, will say though don’t be brave with the spice, level 3 madras is defeating my partner and he thinks he’s a spice connoisseur. He said it’s absolutely outstanding though. Highly recommend will order again. Maybe at a lower level for this wimp.

Ordered a take away on Uber eats during my week's stay in Aberdeen. Food and portion size was very good. On the app I was able to customise food to my taste and it was delivered exactly how I wanted.

They have a pretheatre dinner menu before6pm.very cheap food exellent been here a few times.

Today we had an issue with our order as a main part of the meal was not delivered. mistakes happen.... it's how you deal with them when they do and the restaurant was very apologetic and accommodating. Makes all the difference. Meal delicious

4 of us visited Shahbaaz recently and we all agreed on this short review. Fabulous variety of food served by helpful friendly staff. Shahbaaz offers a comfortable relaxing venue which made our visit a perfect experience. We have been before and we will definitely be back.

We tried the pre-theatre menu, only £14.95 for three courses. Starters ✨Lip Smacking Samosa Salad ✨Chicken Pakora The samosa salad was even better than anticipated. Crushed crispy, meat filled samoas on a bed of spiced chickpeas with raita and chilli tamarind chutney. This certainly wasn’t your standard salad. I really enjoyed it and would certainly order it again. The portion was very generous 🥗 The Chicken Pakora had a lightly spiced batter, served with salad and yoghurt dip. The chicken itself was tender and was cooked to order. Delicious! Mains ✨North Indian Butter Chicken ✨Chicken Rogan ✨Coconut and Fried Garlic Rice ✨Peshwari Naan I was blown away by the high standard and portion of the main course. The pre-theatre deal is such good value for money. We ordered one rice and one naan to share which was more than enough. The Butter Chicken was exceptionally tasty. A smooth, creamy sauce but with a rich taste. It was made with chicken tikka, an added bonus. I had the Chicken Rogan, a classic North Indian dish bursting with aromatic flavour. The chicken was very tender, cooked in a medium spiced tomato-based sauce. The Peshwari Naan was topped with a drizzle of honey, beautifully paired with the spice of the curry. Dessert ✨Gulab Jamun ✨Mango Kulfi Indian classic sponge cake soaked in sugar, cardamom and rose syrup. A favourite of mine. The pistachio sauce on the plate was a highlight for me. The Mango Kulfi made for the perfect end to the meal. Very light and refreshing.

Ive not been to Aberdeen for a few months but every time i visit, we look forward to a take away from here. I noticed a huge dip in the quality of food at the Shabaaz the last time we got an order but thought it might have been an off night but having retried it at the weekend, we were really disappointed. My vegetable pakora tasted like it had come out of the packet and reheated, the previously fabulous, crispy, garlic naan was doughy with little taste. The chicken dhansak was bland & the chicken looked and tasted like it had come frozen from a packet and my vegetable patia didn't have any of that tangy sweet and sour taste and had frozen veg in it. I get that it's a tough time for the hospitality trade and corners are having to be cut but the quality of the food from this order has put us off ordering from here again

What a mess. We had a reservation at 7 and an email reminder to be on time. We entered the "restaurant"at 18.55 and the table was not ready. mmm. The service is very pushy semi friendly. Poppadom yes please. The mango chutney was a watery substance and the onion/tomato dip tasteless no spice at all. Chicken tandoori came on a plate full with a red sauce that had nothing to do with tandoori and tasted like a wet watery substance with an artificial taste not even remotely tasting the way it should be. After one bit we put our dinner aside and asked the waiter to take it away, with all the above reasons. Nothing was offered just said that this was the original Indian tandoori. I have eaten loads in the past but this does not resemble in Indian restaurant even remotely. The manager wanted us to pay for the full meal, where I said I wanted to pay for the drinks and poppadom only. Finally the waiter came and said that we did not need to pay anything. NEVER EVER AGAIN so bad.

Shahbaaz has been our favourite Indian restaurant for many years. While ownership has changed in the aftermath of the global pandemic, I am very pleased and relieved to report that many established dishes have been retained. At the same time, new dishes have been introduced to the menu, adding to the choice of flavours to sample during our visits.

This is a little gem! Had a lovely meal and great service. We will be back.

Went to Shahbaaz for a team function and was absolutely delighted with everything. Helpful welcoming staff, great atmosphere and fantastic food. Can’t recommend the chicken tikka bhuna enough! Best Indian I have visited in Aberdeen without a doubt and will absolutely be back soon.

Wow what a meal we have just had, always seen shahbaaz driving past it and never thought to go as we are stuck in our old ways going to the same indian over and over but im glad we decided to bite the bullet and try it, service was exceptional and the food was really fresh and tasty some flavours we hadnt experienced before! Where to start with this fine establishment? Exotic, tasteful and exceptional are just a few words to describe this place of wonder. After going to light of bengal a few weeks prior I was severely let down by staff and food alike. Just as I was about to give up my love of Indian cuisines I thought to myself no! I knew my undying addiction for a taste of a good quality curry held no limits so I took myself just down the road. Me and my girlfriend was kindly greeted with my at the door with the upmost respect by a fine gentlemen I didn’t manage to get the name of but was shortly served for the remained of the night by a kind hearted man named Saiyed. He looked the part and by god he smelt almost as good as the food. The man was an absolute delight! The less said about the food the better as I don’t want to do it any injustices but it was by far and away the best curry I’ve had in my lifetime and I don’t plan on taking my curry loving tastebuds anywhere else anytime. Overall, I highly recommend to all get yourself down and behold the finest curry’s Aberdeen can produce!

First of all, that is one of the best korma's i have ever eaten. Would highly recommend if anyone is looking for a great Indian with excellent service and atmosphere. The beer on draft is exceptional too. Will be going back.

Where on earth do I start? Shahbaaz is my new go to Indian restaurant after a delightful experience. From the minute we entered the door myself and my kids were treated phenomenally right through to the minute we left. The staff were helpful and our waiter Saiyed was extremely helpful and thorough when explaining what dishes he would recommend. The food was delicious and I would highly recommend the Chicken Karahi. A fantastic experience and I cannot wait to return.

From biryanis to butter chicken, each bite is a delight. Cozy ambiance and friendly service complete the experience. A must-visit for curry lovers!

Ordered takeaway so cannot comment on the atmosphere. I ordered 2 plain Naan breads however only 1 arrived which was a cheese Naan. I phoned the restaurant and was told I’d get a free one next time. The food I did get was great as usual.

I ordered a take away for the family on 31st for Hogmanay, I’m just getting round to writing my review. Its very unusual to have to write this as every time I have dined in at the restaurant I cannot fault it. The korma was terrible, very watery, the Hyderabadi Chicken Tikka Banjara was tasteless (this is a chef specialty) I thought the chicken was from frozen packet. The North Indian Butter Chicken was very tasty and gets a pass mark, nann was hard round the edges. The starters of pakora & bhaji were really nice. I have seen another review similar regards to the korma. It has made me weary of ordering take away as it was pricey to pay for a poor standard. I want to put on record though dining in at this restaurant is excellent.

You can't go wrong dining at Shahbaaz. The food is always perfect and the friendly staff and atmosphere make it our favourite place for either a celebration or a quiet meal. Wonderful, five stars from me*****

This is a great restaurant with great food, a nice atmosphere and lovely staff. The service was excellent, we weren’t rushed at all and were allowed to enjoy our meal at a relaxed pace. The food was delicious and I would highly recommend it!

From so many Indian restaurants around, Shahbaaz is one of the best in the city. Only quality services as well the food is just amazing. Affordable prices and really nice atmosphere. Highly recommended for anyone in love with this food.

The food tastes good but the quantity is utterly disappointing. The starters are like 4 tiny pieces in a platter and cost 6-7£. The staff is very rude. They gather and gossip about their customers. I would not recommend this place.

I arrived here only 20 minutes before closing and still got really nice service which is one of the most important reasons to give it all stars. Food was delicious..just like home..and ordered just one chapatti but it was so smooth and tender...so I had to order another... taste of everything I ordered was really good and yes the restaurant was also very clean and tidy up...

Taken here with a friend on a business trip, probably the best Indian food I've actually had in the UK. It was delicious, quick, and brilliant service all through the night. It will be my go to when I am in Aberdeen again. Very good with my nut allergy too, it was not a concern for them at all.

Had a meal here last week. Excellent! The service was very good from start to finish. Starters are just a nice size and the mixed pakora is absolutely delicious. The menu for mains is huge, with something for everyone. I opted for a Dhansak which was just so flavorful. Don't forget the poppadoms and the naan bread! Thoroughly recommended. Went back again a few years later. This place is still just a good. Excellent and thoroughly recommended

This restaurant has been refurb’d since our previous visit a few years ago and looks very nice. The staff were very pleasant (also an improvement.) They warn you on the menu that all dishes are cooked individually so to expect a delay and we certainly got that; we didn’t order starters and mains took about 45 minutes. However, the food was delicious and it’s from an extensive menu that offers all the favourites plus a great selection of specialities. Good selection for vegetarians too.

We've had 2 takeaways delivered in the last month and both have been excellent. Arrived on time, and nice and hot. I called the restaurant with some queries about vegan options and they were very helpful and accommodating. All meat eaters, veggies and vegans were well catered for and impressed with the quality and taste. Portions are generous, good value for money, we will be repeat customers for sure!

Having been a regular for many years it is great to see that the new owner has maintained the same Menu, Chefs & quality. Also the Onion Bhajis are now even better.

Excellent food and speedy delivery (especially considering it was NYE). Typically I jump between a few different Indian restaurants however I'll likely stick with Shahbaaz now as the last 3 meals have bettered those from the rest.

Have now eaten in twice recently & got a take away at the weekend. Included with our order was poppadoms & onions & mango chutney which was much appreciated. Food has been lovely & staff are very friendly & really make an effort to make you feel welcome in the restaurant. Booked to go back this weekend.

We have used Shahbaaz delivery for years, as it is so good, and often arrives earlier than expected. We usually order Chicken Korma and Murgh Lahore, a spinach side dish, naan breads , and pilau rice. Very generous helpings and we find that two main courses feed three people easily.
