We were a group of three who had pre-booked the £45pp sharing menu on a Saturday. It was quiet (12pm) and the servers were attentive. We were 3 normal adults who had skipped breakfast to enjoy the lunch, so big appetites that day, we were / are familiar with how sharing menus work. The first two dishes to come out were delicious but tiny. I.e one ramekin between the three of us with a small mouthful of fish each (if that). Whilst the quality of the food deserves a 5* , we were being served a meal for 2 peckish adults. By the time the fourth course came out (one prawn toast cut in to 4 small pieces) I had had enough. Despite the embarrassment of causing a scene, I waved down the senior sever and pointed out that there were three of us each paying for the £45 sharing menu. They were very good after that and served us two plates of everything. We finished everything. It was delicious. It was just a shame that we had to prompt them to serve us an equivalent of three ‘heads’. I understand that it’s because we were an odd number, but they should have a way to accommodate that without short-changing customers.

Had a large party in private room in basement. Innovative modern Japanese food, in the same tradition as sister restaurant Bone Daddies. Funny and efficient waiter. Will come back!

Food was just ok. Ordered calamari which was covered in pepper and sadly took away from the taste. Prawn toast tasted awful imo. The katsu prawn sando saved the day. That was very tasty, as was the rice. Washed down with saki and beer. Service was fine but it wasnt busy so would hope for good service. Not disability friendly as toilets down steep steps. There are definately better places to eat in Soho so I wouldnt be back.

Interesting, beautifully executed contemporary Japanese food in a casual, buzzy dining room. Special mentions go to the prawn toast, the lamb ribs, wings and legendary French toast. Service was quick and attentive. We'll definitely be back.

Disappointing. I had wanted to come here for ages and visited recently with a friend. Between us we ordered padron peppers, prawn katsu sando, squid and some Korean wings. The wings were good but not particularly hot. The sando was dry, lacking filling, no sauce and little flavour. The squid was average & the pardon peppers were fine. We booked for lunchtime so the restaurant was fairly empty and we were definitely over served by the wait staff which made us feel a bit rushed. On the plus side, the frozen margaritas were very nice and I would recommend them. For that food and 2 margaritas each, we paid a very expensive £95. I wouldn’t go back.

We visited Shack Fuyu for the bottomless Sunday brunch. As soon as we were sat at our table we were left for nearly 20 minutes before anyone came to explain the brunch or take our order. For a bottomless brunch this was frustrating as you have a 2 hour time slot so should be served pretty much immediately or at least the menu explained as you are sat down. They sat everyone doing bottomless at the back of the restaurant so we constantly had to get the servers attention to have our drinks topped up. Despite this the food was amazing and you could have as many small plates as you wanted and one large dish each. It would be good if the large dishes were served with some rice. The bao buns and french toast dessert were delicious. This would be such a good bottomless brunch if the service was better and they were quicker at topping your glass up.

I was originally supposed to have lunch with a friend here, but they were ill. However, I had a very good experience solo. The pork katsu sandwich was delicious, but the highlight was definitely the Kinako French Toast. The matcha soft cream tasted just as good as in Japan and the french toast was cooked so well. I also had a delicious cocktail.

12 of us went for a pre booked birthday meal. On arrival we waited for 30 mins before our table was ready. We were shown down to a private room which had half drunk glasses of wine on the sides around the room. The service was pretty poor as te server obviously didn’t want to speak to us. My starter of aubergine was absolutely delicious and piping hot. But the main was terrible. I ordered the kimchi beef. The beef was inedible and tough. It came with only spring onions and pickled onions and for £22 was very poor. During the meal we only ordered one drink and couldn’t get the attention on the waiter to order any more. At the end of service they added £65 service charge. Ouch. For pretty mediocre service is a lot. I didn’t complain as this was birthday meal but I would not recommend. Try robata along the road.

Me and my partner had the tasting menu with sake, what…a…treat! The staff were excellent, friendly, knowledgeable and attentive throughout. The food was spectacular, and came at a lovely pace that just felt right. The pork pluma, fuuuuuuck the pork pluma was the nicest thing I have eaten in ages. Every dish was fantastic, cool and relaxed atmosphere, and the famous Kinako toast exceeded my expectations, even after hearing people rave about it. Cannot wait to come back, thank you for such a wonderful experience, credit to all your team 👊🏻🔥

Ordered tasting menu for family. Food was delivered at jyper speed to a small-ish table. I asked to slow things down to give a chanve to eat, but that didnt happen. We were also seated next to the bar/kitchen/server area, which always takes away from the experience. Overall, the food was not very good, nothing stood out as spectacular. Dessert was also a mess, soft serve ice cream over a soggy waffle. Bleh!

Listen to the reviews, the overrall experience was very poor. I made a booking for two people a month in advance of visiting and yet was seated on a table right at the back of the restaurant by the toilets, despite it being 1645 and there only being one other table in use. When I asked to sit on any of the other tables available I was told no they are for parties of more than two. Over the duration of my visit almost all tables were given to parties of two despite being laid for more people. Service was slow, and the waitress was completely disengaged and quite clearly didn't want to be here. Waitress also walked past our dirty starter plates several times without removing them, when mains came they were still left on the table. After 40 minutes of waiting the main arrived, a £24 iberico pork dish, it was stone cold. We got it sent back to the kitchen and the waitress acknowledged that we did wait a long time for it. We were then informed that this dish takes a long time to prepare and we would have to wait again. Nothing indicated a long wait time on the menu, also the dish is grilled shoulder steak, so confounded as to why it takes so long to prepare. After waiting another 25 minutes the main arrives again and is lukewarm. We are starving at this point and just want to leave. We also had the misfortune of overhearing the table next to us reporting a shellfish allergy and being told they could have grilled vegetables, and then later on they were informed that the kitchen could not cater to them at all and were told to leave. I am shocked that this happened and even more so that I could overhear it. That a restaurant cannot cater to allergies is apalling, there were plenty of non-seafood items on the menu. After the issue of waiting almost and hour for our mains I expected an apology or compensation from the restaurant. Shockingly poor experience and I do not recommend overlooking the poor reviews of service like we did.

We wanted a quick meal before the theatre and came across this restaurant. We recognised it from the Off Menu podcast so gave it a go. They didn’t have the pre-theatre menu available so we opted for the vegetarian katsu curry. Whilst we waited they gave us an aubergine bao bun which they had an extra of. We both thought how delicious this was and couldn’t wait for the main. The katsu curry was one of the best we have ever had! I asked my kids after if they had been there and my son told me he was a regular and recommended loads of other dishes. Next time we will book and spend more time trying all the fab dishes!

Visited here for an after theatre meal. We chose to eat from the set menu (£25pp) and chose the Korean wings and beef w/ rice. Both were very tasty, but the slight disappointment was that the wings were very spicy and we were informed that this couldn’t be altered to suit tastes, due to being pre-marinated. Service however didn’t match the food. We were seated (very) close to another couple on an adjacent table, so much so we could overhear an entire conversation, which was intrusive. We also had a make a point of asking for our own drinks order. A 12.5% service charge was added to the bill, typical for London. However when asked to have this removed due to not being satisfied with the service, we were informed this was mandatory. FYI - UK law dictates that unless in writing, all service charges are discretionary and CAN be removed from your bill. There was a slightly chilly reception after making the request to have the service charge removed, but we felt this fair based on our experience. The staff did fulfil our request. Overall, nice food, but service not up to standard.

Met friends here for dinner, showed up without a reservation and they had no problem accommodating us. We ordered lots of dishes to share and everything was beautifully presented and delicious. Special mention to the iberico pork sando and the ceviche, will definitely order those again next time. The max and cheese came with chicken skin scratchings baked into the top and then had tobiko on top of that, which was a delicious twist on the classic. We also tried their famous dessert and I must say, that and the 2 sandwiches were in the most incredible thick-sliced brioche, it was honestly perfect. The Yuzu frozen margarita was truly delicious, it was an excellent choice for dinner with friends and we tried a lot of dishes between us. The service was friendly and well-paced, would definitely dine here again next time I visit.

Rainy London afternoon for a late lunch. Not crowded - I love this. Our waiter was both entertaining and efficient. We both chose the express lunch. I had Korean chicken wings, salmon and the famous French toast for dessert. If you’re in a hurry, you get hot, delicious food quickly. The chicken wings were finger-licking good and so tender. The salmon was next level. The skin was crispy and there was this lovely salt which lifted the whole thing, and the aubergines were some of the best I’ve ever had. This was served with a sticky rice and washed down with a lovely white wine. Ok that French toast and matcha soft serve are worth the price of admission by themselves. 10/10 could not and would not want to fault anything and would definitely go again. *chef’s kiss*

I finally got the chance to visit Shackfuyu, a Japanese restaurant in the heart of Soho, and I must say it was worth the wait. As a fan of Bone Daddies and Japanese cuisine, I had high expectations, and I wasn't disappointed. The restaurant has a great atmosphere, perfect for an enjoyable and laid-back dining experience. Their menu offers a unique twist on Japanese dishes, and their Sandos are a must-try - truly delicious! Having heard incredible reviews of this place from the Off Menu Podcast, I was eager to visit and it didn't disappoint at all - would highly recommend visiting! I attended on a Sunday at around 2ish and there were plenty of tables available and I was quickly sat down and my order taken. I ordered the miso aubergine, Korean Chicken Wings (waiter recommended - thank you to the guy with cornrows!) and the famous French toast with macha ice cream. It was the best 3 course meal I may have ever had and came to around £30 total which when you consider the quality and good portions it's well-priced. Overall a lovely environment, great staff, and even better food. Only issue is that the selection of sandos on offer look incredible too so will need to organise another visit back!

Overhyped dining, supposedly a belated birthday treat. The tasting menu, at £35 a head and 8 courses sounded impressive. But small quantities and quality was not great apart from the IBERICO Pork Pluma. Although it was nice to try the EDAMAME. Seabass ceviche was not very fresh and the prawn toast, in my opinion didn't taste of much prawns ( my local Chinese takeaway do a better job). The restaurant was packed so not for the covid insecure and no hand sanitiser in sight.Service was certainly lacking and we had to ask on many occasions what was it they said that when they hastily brought out the dishes. It was definitely not a tasting experience! They took so long with the bill that my friend missed her train. Also I slipped on something coming from the bathroom and fell on the floor. No H & S procedures in place. They weren't majorly concerned when I said I skidded and slipped on something they just said the floor was sticky! The signature dishes the Korean wings & their Instagram famous take on French toast with the green matcha ice cream may make great photos but really don't understand what all the hype is about and certainly will not be ordering them again.Sorry this is one that will go in the history books and not be repeated again, even though the pictures and the social media may be look to portray a different story!

The worst restaurant I have been to for years. The food is revolting. Fatty ceviche, cheap chicken slathered in an lurid orange sugar sauce, a stomach churning grey omelette called prawn toast (zero prawns), and a tasteless pile of soggy rice and vegetables calling itself beef rice stone pot (beef content zero). Dessert a half cooked sugary sponge bizarrely called French Toast. For this pile of culinary garbage you get charged 35 quid. You can have a lukewarm beer to go with if you like. The food in this entirely cynical and bogus place has been thrown together with no regard for taste or texture. Utterly disgusting in every way.

The two stand out dishes were the Rabbit Sandwich, simply one of the best sandwiches I have ever had, so flavoursome and the French toast dessert lives up to the massive hype it has had, I cannot describe hot great it was. I do have to agree with some on trip advisor that the prawn toast textually does not work, it just feels like to many different things are going on but honestly it was more than made up for with the kimchee bowl and the squid which I would highly recommend.Go to be WOWed, in a relaxing atmosphere and with great service.

It was like a fishy marshmallow with a crispy coatingChicken Sando - 4/10 very thin chicken, thick bread. Very little sauce. The flavor of the bread overpowered everything else. The chicken was so bland and hardly had any flavour. Struggled to taste the sauce.Chili beef rice bowl 6/10 decent crispy rice, again a bit lacking in seasoning, hardly any beef in this. The rice was not spicy at all. Asked for extra chili oil which wasn't spicy either. This showed me that this place was clearly targeted at a mild Western palette.Char siu bao buns- 5/10 you get 1 bun. The bun was fluffy and meat was soft and tender. the flavor of the meat was lacking. This time the sauce on it overpowered the bland meat.Tried to order the wagyu main but they were out.Matcha French toast 8/10 best dish we tried. I was intrigued by the rabbit curry which involved a plate full of breadcrumbed pieces ready to be inserted into a stone bowl of rice fried egg and pickles and the intensest sauce imaginable. All washed down with a pint of Asahi. Even better that the restaurant’s own extension of the Ear Out to Help Out scheme applied this Monday lunchtime.

Came here for mid-week lunch as they had extended their Eat Out to Help Out til October and went to one of their other restaurants in Soho a few weeks ago and really enjoyed it. I have to say, I did prefer the other restaurant as was more to my taste, however that’s not to say this was not an enjoyable meal. Food was still very nice and service was good and efficient. The wings were the best! Would probably go back if I was in the area.

La comida es deliciosa. . . . ! Excelente servicio al cliente. . . . . no! !

Si no lo has estado, pruébalo.

This was our first choice during Eat in to Help out. Five of us at here and none of us left disappointed. The bao buns were delicious, tempura prawns juicy and melt in the mouth loveliness. Wagyu beef melted in the mouth and the tuna tacos were tasty, crunchy and fresh. The hot and sizzling veggie rice bowl was delicious with the mushrooms and crunch corn giving it a real meaty texture. Then there’s that desert, it’s so good I have dreams about it. The prawn toast was a bit of a squidgy let down though and the calamari needs some work, it’s nowhere near as good as the tempura prawns, it tasted more of a batter then fish from the sea.

Sat outside in the street that was converted to outdoor seating for COVID. Great experience- service was excellent and food was great. Had the £22 pre theatre menu and portion size was generous. The salmon especially was so tasty, and the French toast/green tea ice cream dessert was delicious. Also had a really good value and tasty £8 sake flight. Would highly recommend and will return.

Evitar a toda costa. Yuck

Been here twice and both the time have to say hands down great service and fantastic food. Fried shrimps is the winner and so is soft shell crab. All the managers were excellent. David was looking after us and he did an incredible job. Food arrived on time and we got treated very well. I'd say best place to organise a professional work related lunch time catch up with the clients or even casual catch up with friends and family. Ticks all the boxes.

Went for bottomless brunch on Sunday. Food great but service terrible. Firstly they didn’t have my opentable booking which caused a delay. Then we were told we had 2 hours exactly from the time we sit so felt very rushed ordering our food. Often my drink wasn’t refilled, had to keep asking waiters to refill. I had to ask 2 different people at one point as the first waiter just ignored me. Then our 2 hours was up but we were told dessert would be delayed for a while. That was fine but they refused to fill up out drinks while we waited 25 minutes?! What sort of service is that? It’s your fault for the delay. Shame as I really enjoyed the food and would have returned and recommend to others if the service hadn’t been so bad!

I was really impressed by this place. We went without any expectations and without reading any reviews but still curious to discover a new place. We opted for the tasting menu along with the Wyagu course which was delightful! All course tried were great but the wagyu one and the Iberico Pluma were outstanding. The Kinako Frech toast was a nice dessert that emphasizes the popular Japanese flavours of bean powder and matcha. They had a good option of cocktails and mocktails but I'm a tea lover so I went for the Oolong. The service was friendly and efficient. All in all, we had a wonderful dinner.

My friend and I visited this restaurant yesterday and it exceed our expectations. First of all, I want to mention the great customer service that we experienced. We decided to go for the brunch with unlimited drinks. I absolutely loved it! You can choose a cocktail on arrival, then we opted to continue with the unlimited prosecco ( you have also the option of white or red wine); as many starters as you can eat (the buns and the okonomiyaki are amazing), a main dish (I recommend the salmon teriyaki) and the dessert which is so addictive. Portions are big and you get a lot for your money. The only fault: the seared salmon was a little bit bland. I will definitely go back!!

I’ve eaten here many times but not for a year. I loved their buns but today the experience was so disappointing. The place was empty at 1:30!! The staff are very nice and attentive...which is always appreciated. But food waste of money. For £14 I got one very small chunk of oily aubergine on a bun and one small piece of pork on bun. With something green thrown in. Too much mayo and too much bun vs. Filling. A massive disappointment. Very expensive for that. I will not return alas.

Three of us visited the restaurant in Compton Street on Saturday at 6pm. I chose this restaurant as a result of reviews that I had seen on Open Table and Time Out Magazine. The three of us chose very different options from the menu and as a result had a choice of items to nibble from. The food was of good quality, hot and reasonable value.

The food was really great without doubt, but the service was very terrible. I asked for a hot stone rice but it took her 40 minutes to serve it saying my waiter was on a break. When it was too late I felt full I asked her ‘please give it as a takeaway box’. The waitress threw the food away thinking it was meant to be take it off. Then when I later asked her she said oh we don’t do takeaways, she should have told me sooner. I don’t want to waste any food. Service was really slow as well.

As it says in the title, this is the place to bear when it comes to authentic and deliciously made bubble tea. The service is always fast and I don’t think I can emphasise just how wonderful the drinks are. You get a lot of drink for what you buy plus there is just something special about the presentation of the drink and the way it is made that stays in your mind long after you finish the bubble tea. I particularly recommend the fruit teas, with some drinks it comes with fresh fruit in the drink that you can eat after! Always refreshing and sweet
