We had a brilliant week staying at the Lazy Mare for a mini honeymoon. It was exactly the kind of relaxed week we needed after a busy time. We have 4 children so being able to get away just the 2 of us was a real treat and the converted horse box was everything we didn't know we needed! Compact but perfectly designed and organised - we're still trying to work out how to use some of the ideas in our own, busy home! If we ever get the chance to have some time on our own again we'll definitely be back. Thanks to Bex & Steve for your hospitality. Lianne & Adam

We had the most amazing weekend retreat at Shack and Pantry. The house is beautiful, very comfortable, bright and a lovely garden with the best view of sea and hills, comfortable beds and great coffee. The bedrooms all a good size. The hospitality was next level, Bex cooked delicious meals and breakfast, the best potato dauphinoise ever made and made us feel extremely welcome. She recommended a trip to Woolacombe beach, 3 miles of sand and a great café only 15 mins away. It provided an unbelievably needed break from reality. We felt welcome, comfortable and well looked after. Thanks so much Bex and hope to return.

We recently spent 4 nights at the wonderful Lazy Mare. Hosted by Bex and Steve who were attentive and unobtrusive. You have everything you need in the wonderfully compact space. Highly recommend the meals, which are delicious and very good value! So much to do on your doorstep, or a short drive. We will definitely be back! Jude and Neil Blake

My wife and I had a wonderfully enjoyable yoga and surfing weekend. The accommodation was lovely, the food was absolutely amazing, and everything was extremely well organised. We will definitely visit again.

My daughter booked us on a weekend yoga and surf retreat as a 50th birthday present and it was absolutely wonderful. I felt myself relax from the moment we arrived and was able to completely switch off while Bex took care of everything. We enjoyed really lovely yoga sessions with Tash and Lorna, and a fantastic surf lesson at Croyde with the delightful Beau - and the food - honestly I don't think I ever eaten so consistently well in my life! Bet produced gorgeous and incredibly tasty food 3 times a day and has completely inspired me to up my cooking game! The house was beautifully clean and warm with amazing views and lovely people. I honestly cannot recommend these guys highly enough.

We've just returned from a weekend away in a Shack & Pantry Retreat. It was bliss! We went for a relaxing weekend but added a surf lesson on to the retreat for a bit of fun too! Bex is so accommodating and organised everything for us. When we arrived we had a hot stone massage which was the best I've ever had. Finishing a massage and getting in to the cosy robes provided and sitting by the log fire was heaven!! Everything was perfect the food was soooooo good! We will definitely be coming back soon and I can't wait!!!

I spent the first weekend of October at the shack and pantry for a relaxing girlie weekend. I was not disappointed at all. From arriving to leaving, Bex had everything covered. The homemade food was absolutely delicious, with all our dietary requirements catered for. The accommodation was amazing, the massage was out of this world. The entertainment was fab and the goody bag we each received was a lovely surprise. Even the bad weather didnt stop us from enjoying some outside time on the beach.

Had the best two nights away with a group of girlfriends, at the Shack & Pantry. Pure relaxation in the most gorgeous surroundings, with delicious food. Had the best massage and didn’t even have to leave the accommodation. What topped it off was the little extras you receive when you arrive. Bags with fluffy slipper socks, note pad, ear plugs, lip balm and the softest dressing gowns to wear whilst you’re there. We couldn’t have asked for more welcoming & attentive hosts.

My friends and I enjoyed a Shack and Pantry retreat last month. We were completely blown away by the attention to detail, the wonderful food and service provided by Bex and all the little extras. We didn’t lift a finger all weekend which given we all have very full on jobs and/ or small children to care for, was much needed. My personal highlight of the trip was the full body massage in the bell tent looking up at the beautiful blue sky and smelling the sea air mixed with soothing essential oils- an hour of total relaxation for an overtired mum. Having said that, the hidden afternoon tea and walk came a very close second. Enjoying our tea and scones surrounded by trees and a babbling brook was the perfect antidote to a busy day to day life. After our afternoon in the outdoors it was wonderful to put on our super cosy robes, eat delicious popcorn and relax in the bell tent on the bean bags in front of a movie. If you’re looking to completely relax and enjoy your friend’s company, this is the place for you as Bex deals with everything so you can just concentrate on having a good time. Highly recommend and we will be back for sure.

A fabulous girls weekend at the Shack and Pantry Retreat. As a busy mum of 2little girls and a husband at home, to be looked after by Bex and her team was pure bliss. I didn’t have to lift a finger for 2days. The food was delicious and plenty of it, with lots of options catered for. The facilities are gorgeous and the property is so picturesque and peaceful! So thankful I had the opportunity to come to the Shack & Pantry Retreat. Well worth a visit x
