Shaan Indian Takeaway in Sheffield

Ordered for the first time and it was amazing! Lovely helpful staff, It came on time and nice and hot. Tasted lovely and authentic too. Will definitely be ordering again soon!

Really good food. Great value for money. That was then. How things change in just one year. Mouldy mint yoghurt. No rice with the meal no salad either, (as advertised on the menu) Has this place changed hands ?

Ordered king prawn madras, not cheap but hey. 2 prawns for £10.50 , rang them up to query why and they basically called me a liar. Won't be eating there again

Have to say, I'm wondering if there is someone new in the kitchen. Ordered from here many times and always enjoyed, but tonight's lamb madras seemed a level above! Sensational stuff

Ordered online tonight. Unfortunately we received an incorrect dish. I rang and spoke to someone who said they would make the dish I ordered and deliver that too. Come 15 mins later the dish I ordered arrived . Excellent food and service.

My dish was really sweet gave it ago but not what I would say authentic

Really disappointed by the takeaway and service. The food took a long time to come. The bhaji tasted reheated and wasn't very nice. The korma was watery and had too much sugar in it. The paneer tikka masala was so sweet it wasn't very nice. I don't feel that authentic Indian food should be this sweet! Won't be ordering from there again.

The food is good, but always so late that you have to call the restaurant (after an hour and a half of waiting - this has happened several times). They never apologise, just say that it is on its way. Never any apology for the delay when it finally is delivered either. There are 3 different places you can order online, each with different pricing. The website that they are mentioning on every single review here doesn't actually work - it is impossible to get beyond the 'select your postcode' and place an order. A shame because, even though the prices on this website are vastly more than the others, it works out cheaper once the 25% online discount is applied. Useless, though, when it's impossible to place an order. Exactly the same order would cost £12.92 on that website, £14.65 on the other one of theirs (how confusing!) that you can actually use, £15.50 on Just Eat. With no difference in the items ordered, that's quite a difference in price! It's also a shame that you can't order any of the traditional curries as vegetarian. No vegetable, or paneer, option on any of them. The food is nice enough, but all of this, and never knowing how long it is going to take to be delivered, is very offputting and leaves a sour taste. When you know that, should their website work properly, you could get the same food for almost £2 less on a smallish order for one person, then spending more on a different website is just daft. Time to find another takeaway.

No current menus available and food gone up considerably. There are at least two websites claiming to be this address but with different prices; they were aware of this when I questioned the price. Food itself nice but not much meat in the dish I had.

Fantastic, proper curry, arrives hot and tastes great!

We’ve tried many Indian takeaway services since moving to the area and were unsure who to try next. We had a menu posted through our door a few months back for Shaan so thought we’d give it a try, good service, good value for money and really good quality food. Food quality On par with our other favourites prithi raj & Kashmiri aroma but shaan was actually better value for money.

Bang on as usual...l love the Chicken Madras from Shaan's ...mixed Kebab starter too !

We ordered two curries last night with sides for the first time from Shaan. We were very impressed! The stuffed paratha was tasted perfect too! This is our new regular for takeaway curries! Totally impressed!

This was my first time using shawn, on friend recommend. Have only one complaint it was so good eat to much . Will be using them again, if as good will be one of the best take take aways I have used

Awful awful awful! Thought we'd try this place for a change but how disappointed we were. Don't bother ordering from there, basic food, terrible service, try Kolkata or Kashmiri aroma further up the road, much more reliable.

Really excellent curries at a very reasonable price. Shaan has been our go-to for Indian takeaway for years and the quality has never dropped. I particularly recommend the South Indian garlic curry for garlic lovers! Good range of vegetarian options too.

Delicious food! And you get plenty! But, after training weights hard, I did still feel afterwards that I could have had more chicken. I do recommend though - not everyone will have trained hard before eating from there! Very nice food!

We have been using this Indian for the last 10 years. Best Indian in Sheffield by far. We never have to wait long. The food is always tasty and hot. The lads are always kind and remember us. Thanks! X

Best takeaway curry I’ve had in Sheffield and I’ve had a few!

How can you be in the takeaway and not be able to order what you want? To be told “we only take cash! Order off the website! “ dodging the tax man!! Very unhelpful will not use again

Really good food. They open early so great for getting a meal with the kids. Food also comes in aluminium with cardboard lids so the containers are easy to recycle.

Best indian/bangladeshi takeaway in the whole of Sheffield. Excellent service and even better food 😍 if haven't tried it yet i would highly reccommend you do you won't be disappointed. Great staff great service.

The food I have had from Shaan’s has been consistently excellent. My favourite is the chicken/lamb bafatte. It’s absolutely delicious! Thank you Shaan 🙂

Wanted a nice Indian. Had a nice Indian.

Just had food from shaan and gotta say the food was damn good the curry was really tasty and the biryani was so tasty there wasn't a single rice left on the container but the nan bread though,,,, it was out of the world, felt like bringing the tandoori chef to my house and ask him how did he make that!

Ordered via the online app, and OMG what a disaster, ordered a shaman special byriani and ended up with a shaman special curry. When I called they did not understand why and said that is had ordered the curry, shocked the app and it was clear that I had ordered the byriani. Eventually they did offer to bring what I had ordered but said that it would be at least an hour, this was after I had already waited 1 1/2 hours. Won’t be ordering again.

I recently took a chance here and ordered the chicken tikka karahi after asking what the guy who served me's favourite dish was. I said I liked meaty and was really hungry and he smiled. I ordered this with pashwari nann and pilau rice. It was DELICIOUS. He was right and made sure it was an excellent meal. The nann was FIT. Really doughy and stretchy and yummy. Wrapped in foil to stay hot. I would ask for the bigger rice for next time though that's the only thing I felt - I like my rice and the smaller square take out boxes isn't enough for me and my partner. But that's just likely for me as I'm greedy!! Haha.

Just not what it used to be, disappointing!

Go to Shaan's, order your meals (which are fantastic) go to the Sheaf View for a few beers, get wife to drive home via Shaan's to collect food. Take home and eat accompanied by more beer. Who needs gastro pubs?!

Had a delivered curry on Saturday night 23/12/2017, and it was very tasty as usual. Been using Shaans takeaway since it opened 25 years ago, been through a few bad patches, but have been excellent for the last few years. Very thoughtful gave me a Christmas card and a great keyring. Keep it up Shaans. Can't wait for my next curry. All the best for the New Year.

Hideous customer service, I expect a hot meal when I order take away not to chase around and be so inconvenienced that I just wish that I had cooked. I will not be ordering from here again

I have been ordering from Shaan Takeaway since 2006 and I have never had a bad meal. There food is tasty and seems to get better and better each time. Really fresh and delicious. Check out the mix grill!

Everything is cooked to ordered, fresh! Fresh marinated meats, fresh veg and the chef even makes his own curry gravy from scratch every day that makes up the foundations of every curry he cooks. (Apparently it's a secret recipe!) it's amazing. You can see the staff working while you wait. I love Shaan's. Best curries I've ever had. Check out the South Indian Garlic Lamb! It's a masterpiece.

Quite possibly the WORST food I've ever had the displeasure of trying to eat. I dunno who is attempting to cook curry in this place but I'm assuming it was there attempt of cooking. NEVER EVER EVER EVER will I be eating from.here again.

first time we had ordered from this place last night (10/10/2015) as we was stuck in a rut from ordering from same place although they never faulted we thought we would try some were else, well what can I say ... bhajis was clock cold, tandorri main was too ! the curry didn't even taste like a curry .. we ordered chicken rogan josh and we got a tomatoe (tasted like jars) josh with limited chicken, the garlic bread wasn't no bigger than a chapatti OVERALL..... I WONT RECOMMEND AND PERSONALLY I WOULDNT ORDER IF I WAS YOU , most of it went in the bin sheer disappointment
