I recently visited Sentosa with my family for Mother’s Day , and while the food was decent, the service was nothing special. At the end of our meal, we chose not to pay the optional service charge due to the lackluster service. Instead of handling this professionally, the staff became passive-aggressive, and we were later told that we wouldn’t be welcome back. It’s shocking that a restaurant would rather lose customers than accept that service charges should be earned, not demanded. A truly customer-focused establishment would address service concerns rather than retaliate against paying customers. If you’re looking for a place where you’re respected as a diner, I’d suggest going elsewhere. Plenty of restaurants value their customers without resorting to such tactics.

We visited on a Friday night, and the place was absolutely packed—a great sign of its popularity! I’ve always loved the food here, especially the char kway teow, which is wonderfully authentic with that signature wok hei flavor. This time, we decided to get our hands dirty with the Singaporean chilli crab. The crab itself was fresh and cooked perfectly, but the sauce didn’t quite hit the mark for us—it tasted more like an instant sweet chilli dipping sauce rather than the rich, spicy eggy gravy we were expecting. That said, we’re already looking forward to our next visit and will definitely be trying the black pepper crab instead!

I come here second time for lunch today after (awhile )1 year ago. They now have lunch menu and they continue to do a Malaysian food. The lunch menu is very good value for money but they did not cut any corner . They still use very fresh and good quality ingredients to cook their food. The manager told me that they insist on keeping using good quality of ingredients. Fresh ingredients make good food . Good food makes me happy. The food is 5 stars , and the staff is so friendly and welcoming. It is a relaxing lunch in a very nice cosy restaurant. PS I specifically like the new deco of the restaurant ( see the picture)

It's a good restaurant with super quick and good service, by the time we ordered no more than 10 mins passed and food was already coming out of the kitchen freshly made and super hot, the aubergines we ordered for starters were amazing, the Singapore noodles were really good, they were a little dry but full of flavor. The rendang beef was superb nice and rich full of flavor and the meat was super tender. The noodles were good but it would be great if they would put some spicy on the table so you can adjust the spicy level to your liking. Overall it's a pretty good place to have a nice dinner with friends.

Made a reservation for 2 adults and a child in a high chair. turned up on time to find they gave away our table without checking the names. It was clear the people who took our table had been there for at least 20 mins as they were already well into eating their food. Offered us a table for 2 with no high chair, which is pointless. They only have 1 high chair. Weekend dinner plan ruined. Note to management: telling us "we thought they were you" is a poor excuse and just makes you look stupid.

Great dining experience for me and my partner. This was my first time trying Malaysian/Singaporean food and it did not disappoint. For starters, we went for the enoki mushrooms, chicken skewers and roti with potato curry, and for mains we went for the nasi goreng. All of it was delicious Was very busy this evening and so does get very loud but don't let this detract from the experience. I just prefer places that are a little quieter. Visited March 2025. Singaporean/Malaysian cuisine presented in a format palatable to the hip, small restaurant format of Bermondsey Street. Dim lighting, casual/upbeat background music. A little bit packed on a Wednesday night but that’s testament to the crowd/popularity. Reservations over phone only. Food wise, fairly authentic. Huge portion of Singapore laksa at the right spice level for the uninitiated. For starters, tried the lohbak and golden silken prawns, which were a little bit unexpected (not usually found in U.K. Singapore/Malaysian restaurants) but very tasty! Expect the cost to be one price point above what you might find in Chinatown/Soho, but it is worth it for the ambience and more niche dishes I’ve outlined.

🍜 Sentosa Curry Laksa The curry soup base is super rich, and every bite is authentic Nanyang flavor! The most special thing is that the laksa here has two kinds of noodles, one is vermicelli, and the other is oil noodles. The taste is particularly rich, both elastic and juicy. The ingredients are sufficient, and every bite is very satisfying. 🍛 Malaysia Boleh Nasi Lemak This dish is the ultimate enjoyment for your taste buds! The fried chicken legs🍗 are golden and crispy on the outside, and the meat is tender and juicy when you bite it. It is definitely the soul of this dish. The rice is fragrant and soft, with a salty, slightly spicy and rich sauce. There are also small squids and dried fish in it, which adds a sense of layering and the deliciousness of seafood. The rice is coated with spicy sauce, and then paired with a bite of crispy fried chicken, it is a match made in heaven! It is served with fried eggs, cucumbers🥒 and tomatoes🍅, which not only relieves greasiness but also adds a refreshing taste, making the flavor of the whole dish more balanced.

We went as a last minute thing as the laksa on a cold winters night seemed very inviting. There’s a lot of appetisers in the menu so we started with fried baby squid and the veggie dim sum platter. Only criticism is that the dim sum arrived well after the squid and one of the dim sum was still room temperature on the side but they were still freshly made (and veggie) so it’s not a big deal. In terms of the laksa, we both ordered vegetarian but only because my husband didn’t want the omnivore version as he doesn’t like chicken (it was a prawn and chicken laksa). The veggie laksa had tofu, okra, French beans, soft boiled egg, mushrooms and so full of flavour. For sure will go back for Laksa!

The food was really good! Papaya salad was not too spicy and really refreshing so it was a good choice for a starter. We ordered char kee teow and prawn laksa for the mains and both were pretty good! The restaurant has so many tables and it was really busy. We went there without booking so we were expecting to wait a bit. We had to wait a big longer because we were a group of three, and they were waiting until the two tables for two to be empty so that they can put them together. When we were sat, we ordered two starters and two mains since we were not very hungry. Then, the staff asked to give back one of the tables because there were many “bookings” and we only ordered two starters. The table that we eventually took was empty for 10 mins before we sat down, so we could have gotten our table earlier. I’m not sure if they really had the booking (which didn’t seem like it), and I don’t think they should have received the booking anyways when we already took the table. When we were trying to explain the situation, the staff member didn’t seem to understand our frustration. We weren’t very happy with the situation but food was good.

Sentosa Singaporean Food in London is a gem! The restaurant has a lovely, modern vibe—perfectly sized with a cozy yet lively atmosphere. The staff, who are Singaporean, are efficient and welcoming, adding to the authenticity of the experience. The food is absolutely incredible! Everything tasted high-quality and authentic, bringing back memories of my trip to Singapore. For starters, we tried the dim sum platter, which was a great choice, though the kimchi dim sum was our standout favorite. We also had the beans and okra—delicious, but the large starter portion was a bit too much for just two people. For mains, I had the Hainan chicken, and it was simply amazing. Despite its simple appearance, each element was packed with flavor, and you could really taste the quality ingredients—even the tomato and cucumber were outstanding.

Great food but very rude staff. I booked a table for 3 people for 8.30pm. I arrived first at 8.30 and was seated. At 8.35 a waitress came to ask me in a very rude way if my friends were on their way and arriving soon as they were 2 couples waiting to be seated (without a booking) so that she could give our table to them. To note, my friends arrived at 8.38pm. After we ordered food, the waiter told us, again in a rude way, that there is a minimum spend per person, which is not something written anywhere on the menus, in the restaurant or online. He said that that time only he would allow us to order one more starter and he would leave it at that. I will make a formal complaint about the minimum spend as announcing a minimum spend after ordering violates consumer rights. So all in all, great food, horrible service and will not be returning.

Wow! I’m not sure how this place ended up on Bermondsey Street. Gem. Singaporean, with a fair blend of Malay and Indo and Chinese and….. Singaporean. Properly spicy when it needs to be, beautiful and unobtrusive service. Both chopsticks and forks. The feel of a family joint with the vibe of upscale. Perfect portion sizes. Great veg! Queerly affordable prices. Chef maintains integrity but modifies at request as well. A strangely perfect place…. and also, properly wheelchair-friendly. Ramp, as well as doors that push in rather than pull out, and plenty of takeaway chairs to allow for wheelchair choice of spot. Zero departure pressure, no qualms about seating close to end time - they seem to go with the flow. Keep up the beautiful work! LOVED the veg - especially the morning glory and the cucumber salad (get a side of rice). Only thing that would make me happier is ethical (at least organic) meats used…. I’m sure soon they will add this too. Meal was light, too. I had two veg starters and a main - and a side of rice - and I’m mourning not getting more! <3

Food: The lorbak was actually pretty good, but a bit too heavy on the cinnamon in the five space ratio. This was maybe the blandest Char Kueh Teow I've had. It was under-seasoned (basically unseasoned!) and had no char or wok hei. The prawns, although generous, tasted like very low quality prawns and had little flavour. The eggs also tasted off and of poorer quality. Maybe find better suppliers? The beansprouts were undercooked for a ckt. They deserve some char too - it was served to us like a salad. The laksa was too much on the sweet side and ends up being overly cloying. Again, generous with the prawns, but these are not great quality prawns. In terms of spice, it's a very bland laksa. Maybe increase the spice, or at least offer table-side sauces? That said, the food portions were quite decent. The drinks were too small for the prices. Service: Got a table quickly on a busy night, which was good. We ordered the above, and were told there was a minimum spend of £23 per person, and that we should order another starter, which we reluctantly did to take away, since it was already a fair amount of food. There was absolutely no mention of a minimum spend anywhere in the restaurant or on the menu. If you are going to impose this, make it clear on the menu! We also calculated how much we originally spent - it was 22.40 per person, and that's before service charges! After service charges, we had already ordered £25pp. Asking us to order another starter to make up the remaining 60p each is pretty petty service. The takeaway roti canai we purchased to make up the minimum charge was again way too sweet and lacked spice (in the curry). This restaurant, while clean and well decorated, is way too cramped. The waiter had to squeeze between our table and the next, his butt awkwardly pressing onto our table surface - we had to quickly shift our cutlery before they touched!

Food was okay (not out of this world). The dishes we selected were nice but lacked some spice/additional flavour however this is a personal preference. Nonetheless the service was shocking. Staff are rude and cold. We were rushed from the moment we sat down. Constantly being asked if we were ready to order, if we had finished eating and they took the menus off of us before we had finished looking at what we wanted for our mains. The restaurant wasn’t even busy at this point either so there was really no excuse! There was no offer of cutlery and when this was requested the waiter was walking away as I was still speaking. After the last mouthful the waiter was right on hand to hand us a cheque swiftly. We refused to pay service charge which they did take off and their response to our feedback was that “you only get 1:5 hours at the table” (this wasn’t stated at time of booking). The chicken satay in the end did also not agree with me. Definitely better places in London to eat for half the price tag and with much better food and better service! Disappointing!

The waiters were really friendly but one of them kept opening bottles of sparkling water even though we didn’t ask for it - and we were charged £20 for three bottles in the end (we felt bad so didn’t ask them to take it off). Overall the food was ok and the staff were really friendly but i don’t think I would go there again.

I recently visited Sentosa and decided to try the Sentosa Curry Laksa, but unfortunately, it did not meet my expectations. The soup was overly rich and felt excessively greasy, likely due to an overuse of coconut oil. Instead of the comforting, balanced flavors I was hoping for, the dish felt heavy and cloying. The laksa also featured a mixture of noodles, which I found to be off-putting. I prefer a more uniform texture, and the blend of different noodles disrupted the overall experience for me. Additionally, the dish included an egg cooked in the Singaporean style, but sadly, it had an unpleasant taste, almost as if it had been fried in old oil, leaving a stale, greasy aftertaste. Overall, I was left underwhelmed by the dish. The flavors were poorly balanced, and the execution seemed lacking, particularly with the oiliness of the soup and the off-tasting egg. I wouldn’t recommend this version of laksa and would encourage others to explore other places for a more authentic and enjoyable laksa experience.

Firstly, I didn't like where we were seated. The place we were seated was awkward, cramp and physically uncomfortable. The service was mixed. We were seated by a female, not so friendly. She also took our order. The female and male who served our food were both friendly. We were served by different people because their was a huge gap between the serving of our food. The male that cleared our plates wad also friendly. It took ages to get the bill once asked for. The wait seemed endless. The food was ok. I had what ultimately was a squid curry with rice. In addition, a large fried chicken thigh and fried egg. The plate was garnished with 3 slices of cucumber. I liked all the food on my plate but wouldn't necessarily eat them all together ever again. My food was served lukewarm. I'm a slow eater, so it wasn't long before my food was cold. I wouldn't go again but recommend that others try it for themselves. The positive was that I had a Mojito with my meal and it was really good. Sometimes, Mojitos can be hit or miss. Whoever made mine wasn't stingy with the alcohol.

Wow. I have my new favourite. For anyone who has experienced a food court in Singapore/ Kuala Lumpur, this is about as authentic as it gets. A vibrant cafe buzz with unbelievable food. The Curry Laksa was superb. I’ll be back for the crab, the Singapore noodles - and the Nasi Goreng. Maybe over a couple of visits 🫃

Excellent and friendly service from seating right through to paying the bill — no fuss and very efficient. Food was great and as authentic as Singaporean and Malaysian cuisine can get. On a fine summer day out, I tried the Hainan rice with chicken and was very pleased and satisfied. Will definitely be coming back to try the rest of the menu.

Quelle surprise ! Nous avons Commandé : 1/ Sentosa curry laksa with prawns, chicken, tofu, fish ball & Egg. 2/ Steamed seabass with garlic & minced ginger 3/ Steamed okra with crispy onion & soy sauce 4/ Eggs fired rice 5/ crispy fresh beans & tofu.

Neighbor reviewing here (down South 🇸🇬) Quite good Malaysian food, overall recommended. Nasi lemak is really well done, 4.5/5 Char Kway Teow has good char /wok hei, 4/5 Rendang quite good, 4/5 Laksa is decent but doesn't blow you away, not coconuty enough. Hainanese chicken rice is lacking the top notch bouncy rubberyness of the skin.

Food was nice, roti starter was delicious but staff not very attentive, service a bit slow, restaurant was loud and busy on a Friday night so maybe that had an impact. Atmosphere was overall a bit disappointing. Didn’t feel particularly welcome and got our bill after mains rather than staying for another drink.

We literally wandered into Sentosa on a Sunday having passed it by several times before. Surprise! Before I get to the food I must mention the ambience & decor - not a red lantern or gold-anything in sight! It is a lovely space with warm wood, a little industrial-chic, minimal, clean and Zen. We decided to return even before we had ordered!!! The waiting staff was efficient and polite as she took our order: we started with the fried baby squid (delicious on a bed of what tasted like salted fried onions) and a quartet of steamed veggie dimsum which appeared in jewel colours and piping hot. I highly recommend the fried squid. The dimsum needed a bit more oomph as finely chopped veggies didn’t give it full flavour. I’d have liked it garlic-chilly spiced. One main was the classic nasi goreng with prawns chicken and egg - tasty, beautifully plated and my guest said it was very tasty though I thought the rice serving could’ve benefited from a little generosity. My main was a big bowl of flat rice noodles in soup with fish balls and veggies. Delicious, comforting, steaming hot and perfectly light for a summer meal. I’d have preferred a wee bit more flavour in the stock/soup but the fish balls, greens and mushrooms made it the tastiest bowl I’ve eaten in recent times. Return to Sentosa with its Singaporean (in itself a happy blend of Indonesian, Chinese, Indian….) delights? A resounding yes!

Highly rude and racist place. As soon as we entered they started threatening us infront of other clients that the discretionary charge needs to be paid whether we like it or not. This is outright illegal . we are doing a police report of threatening behaviour as well as reporting it to the southwark Council for providing non safety environment to customers You wil get a notice very soon from southwark Council. Good luck in dealing with that ! We also know the Councillor of the area and we have mentioned to her.

The salads we had were generous and fresh. However, the tables are tiny and far too close together. You can only order via your phone's QR scanner, so if you dislike using this, it's best to avoid this cafe. I'm not sure I'd go again. We went on a Saturday and it was full, so it's clearly popular.
