Seaforth Restaurant in Liverpool

The restaurant is relaxed and friendly yet special and you feel well looked after. Our host for the evening was Michael who totally liked after us and it’s brilliant to see a business employing people with passion and knowledge. The food itself was spot on. Carefully presented and a good combination of flavours. I had the sea bass which was outstanding and the truffle chips had a great flavour. A really brilliant night out. Highly recommend

Went to Seaforth restaurant last night for hubbys birthday dinner. The restaurant, located within the Municipal hotel, is stunning. From the beautiful grand entrance to the fabulous bar, through to the restaurant, this old building in the heart of Liverpool has been renovated to a super smart standard. We started with drinks in the beautiful Palm court bar - served by Santhosh, who is a credit to the hotel. And then for dinner at Seaforth restaurant, looked after all night by Mike, another great asset to the team. Mike was warm, friendly and extremely welcoming - attentive but not over fussy. Food was superb - we were eating early, as we were going to the theatre, so was surprised at the early set menu prices - 3 Course for £35, and for the quality of the food, we would have expected to pay a lot more. Everything was excellent. Sadly the restaurant was fairly quiet - apparently busier at the weekend, when they have live music. We will definitely return to try that. All in all a great night - we could've stayed all night! I wasn't staying in the hotel but I happened to come across the restaurant as I was passing, looking for somewhere to have dinner and trying to get out of the heavy rain on a Saturday night. I didn't have a reservation and wasn't sure I would be able to get in on a busy Saturday night but fortunately they had a table available. Looking at the menu I decided to have a steak as that's what I had in mind but the waitress suggested the duck and I'm so glad she did. The starter was good but the duck was excellent and rwas eally complicated by the accompanying vegetables. The wine was excellent and the service was good but what made my visit more enjoyable were the staff who were very friendly and the waiiter even telling me about the history of the building, I stayed for a drink in the bar after, if I don't stay in this hotel on my next visit to Liverpool, I will definitely be eating at the Restaurant.

Nice relaxed atmosphere. Service was friendly and fairly good. Food was nicely prepared but portions small- possibly adequate for a light eater but I left hungry after my entree salad and drink. Prices seem high for the small quantity of food. We were staying at the Municipal and needed a late dinner so the convenience factor led us to eat here. It fell a bit short due to small quantities.

We were staying at the Municipal to celebrate our 10th anniversary. The staff in Seaforth did not disappoint. All the food was cooked to an incredible standard, Michael Douglas.. was nothing but top teir fantastic. Built up an incredible rapport with us. Gave us a history of Liverpool as well as his own and went above and beyond to ensure we enjoyed experience. Even brought out a suprise anniversary pudding. Lani was also very attentive and made us feel at ease. Lamb was second to none and melted in your mouth. Drinks and recommendations were spot on. Would happily come back again.

Tucked away in the Municipal Hotel in Liverpool you’ll find Seaforth….and it’s well worth the hunt! Walk through the ornate foyer and the hotel opens up to reveal the Palm Court bar (well worth a stop for an aperitif should you be so inclined), through which you’ll find Seaforth… The menu might not be the most extensive, but what they do, they do perfectly and with real flair. We began with Scallops cooked in Miso butter with samphire and Smoked Goats cheese with beetroot. Beautifully presented and wonderful flavours. For the main event I opted for the ribeye whilst my other half chose duck prepared three ways. Steak was exceptional with a beef jus that added serious depth of flavour to an already succulent dish. The duck was perfectly blush and tasted incredible. Cheese to finish chosen from a selection of local offerings. There’s enough on the menu for any pallet to be satisfied as well as a nod to the local delicacy “Scouse”. That’s what I enjoyed most about Seaforth…quality fare paired with a local flare that you could probably only find in Liverpool.
