Seafood Stall in West Dorset

We chose this outlet for a fish and chips lunch as it indicated that it does gluten free fish and chips. This turned out to be fish without the batter when we had hoped that they used a gluten free batter and a separate fryer. I hope that they don't just remove the batter after cooking as this will lead to problems over the GF description if experienced by someone with full Coeliac disease. So far as the general standard is concerned I have had better crispier batter with the same for the chips and the mushy peas are a sloppy mix, with far better and the Red Lion Beaminster

I got a couple of bacon baps to take onto the beach from here and they were very tasty, with loads of bacon in a soft bap..

We bought fresh fish to cook in the apartment there was too much choice ,everything looked so amazing ,we had the Dabs which were so tasty , we also walked along eating small pots of fresh cockles which were lovely .

I am a local in Lyme and this is the place to go. Fresh variety of fish and very tasty. Great price and lovely staff. Would recommend to come here if you ever pop down to Lyme Regis and want some tasty fish.

Un viaje a Lyme no es completa sin una visita a este excelente marisco separadas. Estoy familiarizado con mariscos (nacido en Lowestoft), otros miembros de la familia no han sido tan afortunados, así que este lugar ofrece la oportunidad de probar a un precio razonable. De hecho, era uno de los "lugareños" que venían corriendo, basado en visitas anteriores, al quiosco cuando llegamos.

Fresh fish, helpful friendly staff (possibly owner) and great choice. The owner is willing to explain how to deal with dishes customers aren't sure about and tell you a little bit about the produce.

I think we must have tried a pot of everything on our visit and nothing disappointed!!Amazingly fresh,very reasonably priced and excellent service.Advice on what to have each pot with was greatly appreciated and only a short stroll to the Cobb to sit and enjoy it whilst watching the world go by!!Made us fall in love with Lyme Regis!

I was lucky that they had landed some lobster so was able to enjoy my first ever taste at a very reasonable price (so much so that I immediately went back for more). Lovely friendly service and judging by the queue, very popular!

My sister recommended this place to me as she knows how I like my whelks. All I need to say was they were some of the best whelks I have had. Lovely fresh and tasty.

Whilst on a visit to this town we tried the fresh lobster from this stall and must say it was extremely good. Everything looked very nice and fresh and would certainly recommend.

Always visit here every time we visit Lyme. Loads of choice for a snack or as we do, to buy fresh crab meat to take home.

Perfectly good seafood snacks. However just opposite is the exceptional Wet Fish Shop (not on TripAdvisor) that is strongly recommended.

Lovely fresh seafood and a wide variety. We went for the prawns and were not disappointed with the price or portion.

We've been coming to Lyme for 20 odd years and we always look forward to prawns from Clare. Everything is fresh, caught by Clare's husband and sons, and Clare is always extremely friendly and helpful. Looking forward to fresh prawns again here next Easter!

Simple nostalgic pleasure. Fresh. Lovely place. We had prawns / mussels / whelks mixed pots. Recommended.

The prawns in sauce were absolutely gorgeous, we always have a pot when we go down there. I wasn't keen on the crab stick but lets face it I don't think a crab has even seen a crab stick so I shouldn't be eating them. The fish is all fresh and the service is always lovely. This business has been there for years and I hope it continues to do so.

I was surprise to see small pots of lobster meat being sold here along with the usual cockles and mussels. Very nice they all were too.

We have been coming to Lyme for over 20 years always staying in self catering accommodation, our lunch is normally crab rolls. I can say this is the finest crab meat I have ever enjoyed. We have tried other delights from the stall always fresh and very tasty, sourced locally by husband John and served happily by Clare. We have enjoyed reviewing the local cuisine with Clare over the years catching up on the local news, shopping and changes to local businesses. She is a font of local knowledge which always very helpful, which always makes our holidays even more enjoyable.

We always pop by the fish stall on our trips to lyme. The lady who runs it is lovely, alwsys chatty and helpful. We all have are favourites, I love the mackerel which she always puts on some lemon for me, very yummy to eat sitting on the harbour wall! Hubby has the cockles or sometimes lobster, and we always take a pint or 2 of prawns home.

Lovely shellfish stall, lady friendly and willing to put a bit of this and a bit of that on a tray. Crab is very tasty. Stall always looks clean and tidy and shellfish always taste lovely and fresh.

Does exactly what it says on the can. With a great selection we ate from here at least 4 out of the seven days.

As children each day on the beach would incorporate a visit to the "Cockle Lady". We, as kids and our parents would all buy a different pot of something and take it down onto the beach, each sampling a little of someone elses choice. An old-fashioned Tapas I suppose! And now when ever I visit Lyme it would and will always be a part of my holiday/break. The Cockle Lady is so friendly and once told me that her husband catches much of the stock she sells and so it is always very fresh. The sight of her behind that counter is as warming a memory of childhood and Lyme as the long hot summers of yesteryear.

Myself, father in law and 9 year old daughter had the biggest most delicious cockles from here! Lovely location and just delicious!

I cant remember the surname of the lovely lady who runs this stall - tucked in the corner of the Cobb opposite the Cobb Arms ... but its work a visit !buy your tub / tray of Prawns / Cockles / Mussells / Whelks / Mackeral / Roll Mops etc and sit overlooking the boats whilst you tuck into fresh seafood in the fresh air ....Its an essential and customary part of all our Lyme Regis visits :-)
