Scrums in Havering

I visited in the morning after having a fasting blood test at the health centre opposite. The food (scrambled egg on toast) was lovely and fresh, but also a very large portion! As it has a bakery as well, there is a fairly good selection of cakes, bread and rolls.

A good, old fashioned cafe/ bakery. The service is excellent and the food is traditional and hearty. A perfect place for lunch or brunch.

We had brunch here today with our grandson and he had the vegan breakfast which he said that it was delicious and was one of the best he'd had

Absolutely the worst coffee I have ever had. Dark brown water served in a paper cup despite drinking in and it was completely undrinkable. Didn't eat there, but the bakery looked good. Nice enough staff.

Over priced, service varies too much

Not a lot of filling in rolls .Pastry hardly anything in it all pastry and not a lot of anything else. Sausages disgusting. Disappointed . Better of at Greggs or Preston’s village. You get more for the money.

Quality sandwiches, good value. Fresh bread, which they have baked in their own bakery apparently. Good service.

Best bacon sandwich in the world. Twice I've sat down, ordered a coffee and sandwich only for them to remember the coffee and forget the food. Next time maybe I will forget to pay

A serious passion for home cooked, creative food nestled with the tradesmen's favourites, make this a gem straddling between builders cafe and junior bistro. Recommended are the Jerk Chicken, Tikka Masala and, my favourite, the minted Lamb roll. A huge rangeof burgers, loaded fries and toasties will leave even the most particular palate craving a return visit. Inexpensive with generous portions...what more could you want?

Great little snack joint! - Can get busy at lunch, for good reason

Had 2 cooked breakfasts yesterday (4th) both were delicious & served quickly. Staff were very friendly, helpful and efficient.

Someone I know often buys a roll from here but she noticed that none of the staff wear gloves when handling the rolls. One staff member scratched their nose and touched their hair in front of her before taking the roll from the rack and handing it to her. She would appreciate it if the staff paid more attention to hygiene.

I only go here to buy bread. I don't use the cafe part of the business. I highly recommend the bread I think It's the best in the area.. The cafe is very busy and occasionally the customers who just wish to buy bread have to wait until the staff have served the cafe orders before being which can be frustrating if you just pop in for a loaf

Very bad experience today with this Caffe I will not recommend at all. I was waiting for my order 30 minutes and after that they said forget to do it. I used to eat my lunch daily there but from today definitely no!!! Very desspionted!!!

So I ordered veggie breakfast, and personally I don't think it was worth nr on £8. Misunderstanding regarding sausages I got meat one & I'm a veggie. Eggs slimy could done with bit more cooking. Left quite bit of it. Same breakfast at Elm pk , £7 and u get more for your money.

I absolutely adore this cafe, and judging by the constant stream of customers I’m clearly not the only one! Super friendly staff and a great range of food for a quick breakfast or lunch. We had the vegan breakfasts which were super delicious and filling. The coffee was also just the way I like it!

Lovely bakery / cafe very friendly staff

Went a few days ago, music bit too loud for me, I couldn't even eat all my cake too distracting. But the staff were kind and accomodating.

Had a fab breakfast here and the service was lovely, all the women were really friendly and welcoming and the service was really fast too! We will be back again to try more on the menu as there was a good selection to choose from. Really good value for money as it was good quality food.

Great veggie breakfast. Good cafe

Food was ok, but found staff to be a little rude... young girl taking the order looked like she had the hump, no friendliness about her, and young lad who brought us our food plonked it on the table, no enjoy your food, can I get you anything else, etc... then when coming to pay again no politeness, and no please and thank you. Simple manners cost nothing. Will not eat here again.

Rude staff and bacon sandwich tasted like a rotting old flannel. Used to really like Scrums when we first moved to the area a few years ago - staff always seemed nice. One afternoon last year I went in and had a really unpleasant experience with one of the ladies on the till. She was very rude. Thought we would give it one last go recently, we got some bacon sandwiches to take away. Ate it straight away in the car as we were on our way out. It was horrible! The bacon tasted like a rotten old flannel in some bread it was gross! That is it for us now sticking to Preston’s up the road!

A nice warm welcome from everyone working there. Great selection of food and very quick service. Social distancing and sanitisation in place. First time eating there today will definitly be returning!. Highly recommend.

Really good cafe, breakfast was excellent with good quality produce used. Had a Scrums breakfast for £6.80 and it came with two sausages, two bacon, 2 eggs, beans, toast and tea. Good portions and very filling. Staff were very efficient and polite. Well done and I will come again!!!

Great quality food with tasty breakfast ingredients. Good surroundings better than your run of the mill greasy spoon. Very helpful and friendly people there.

The staff were helpful, polite and attentive. The food was great and the ambience very nice. Only negative point, being the customers coming to take away, repeatedly leaving the door open - auto-closer may solve this. The prices were a little higher than other café. However I will say, you get what you pay for and the quality of the breakfast was excellent.

What a little gold mine! Friendly, approachable staff, delicious food and fantastic value for money. Really really impressed with this bakery. Scrums is so much bigger inside and the selection of food is vast. Thoroughly enjoyed my visit and will definitely be returning.

This place is brilliant. I come here first thing every Saturday morning for a bacon sandwich and a latte. Yeaterday I had scrambled eggs and a latte. Service superb, quality was perfect and was £6 for the trouble. Could not recommend this place enough.
