Let's start with the basic pros; the hotel is just off the main street, which is a massive plus. It boasts a Spa and beauty treatments are available, which adds to a sense of pampering. Breakfast is usually included in the daily rate, which sounds great. All this said, I found plenty of cons; my room in the Bank House was really damp (see picture taken at 8am - this can't be good for one's health) and operating the electric heating, for which there were no instructions available, requires a PhD. The general decor is very dated (like 90s dated, but not in a good revival way) and the lack of investment is palpable. The TV was attached to the wall at an odd angle and couldn't be seen properly from the bed. The bathroom had no space to keep toiletries on (the toiletries on offer were disgusting to the touch, and definitely not "natural" Scottish products, which are probably too expensive for these cheapos). The premises looked dirty and worn out, and dust collected with gusto around surfaces. Puzzlingly, though, towels were replaced daily whether used or not. The front door to the Bank House was often found unlocked, which made me worried about safety, as the bedroom's door looked and felt brittle. The road was noisy during the day and cars passed by until late at night, and the single glaze (single glaze! In the Highlands of Scotland!!) windows didn't help. Let's not even talk about breakfast food because I don't want to feel nauseous, again (most vinegary eggs Benedict I've ever tasted and awful coffee). The receptionists were courteous but clearly weary of feedback, likely because they're conscious it doesn't lead to change so why bother caring. Regarding beauty treatments, I cannot praise the therapists enough, particularly Charlotte, who worked my tired muscles to ultimate relaxation. The hotel's worth resides within the quality of the Spa's staff, for sure. Otherwise, no point whatsoever. Don't stay here. There is plenty of accommodation around which, if not amazing, is of better quality. Stay elsewhere and book massage treatments/facials but be warned that the Spa itself is minging (as per other reviews). I'd love to have a combo with whoever assessed that it's the "Spa of the year" in Pitlochry for the past 3 years in a row. Hilaire....

Beautiful hotel dated but clean. No heating first night but was soon fixed. Food is a bit posh for us so couldn't eat there. The pool was lovely and warm. The staff are so friendly and helpful. Down side. Mould around the shower taps. The built in wardrobe wasn't cleaned. We were there 2 nights no bed made no cleaning done. The parkings a shambles. Breakfast was poor choice. We love pitlochry but this hotel is not worth £520 for 2 nights. Shame because it could be something special.

When booking we believed we could book in at 3pm. Told room wasn’t ready and was then informed it was FROM 3 pm. Paid £175 for the night in an inadequate room. Carpet dirty, window didn’t close, no heating so room very cold at night. Bathroom taps were dislodged from sink and bathroom was freezing. Would never stay here again.

Basic rooms. Parking a joke, you need to arrive early and grab a space and really you shouldn't move your car or you won't get a space when you return. Location is good for the town. Hotel is overpriced but they all are in Pitlochry

Great stay here, 5 minute walk from the train station. Friendly and accommodating staff, and a fantastic spa, perfect for a relaxing break. A couple of small things that could make this hotel a little bit better. - Aircon / or a fan in the rooms. - Investing in a new jacuzzi, as the current one while nice and warm, doesn't give many other benefits.

Nice hotel, rooms very comfortable and clean. Nice cooker and showeroom, although the shower pressure was a bit low. Nice selection at breakfast across continental and hot choices. They have a small cardio theatre in the spa, very nice pool with hot tub and a sauna cabin. Nice seating in the small bar and at the front. A nice place if you are spending a couple of if days in Pitlochry.

Hotel is off busy main a9 so is quiet at night. Room was large and clean. Had all facilities that we needed. Staff are very friendly and welcoming and nothing is a bother to them. Had a spa session and this was amazing. Afternoon tea was lovely sitting in the snug. Food was great in the restaurant at night.

One night - room wasn't very clean, very tiny; overlooking the kitchen/staff area; loud at night; bed not very comfy. Swimming pool very tiny and quiet public. Breakfast buffet - if in the later slot, you won't get everything. It is not obvious that salmon cost extra.

THE ROOM IN THIS HOTEL RUINED MY MARRIAGE!! Me and Wife visited Hotel for Easter break for a few nights to ecape the clutches of Aberdeen city. After staying a couple of nights we have decided to get a divorce. This is mainly due to the fact that the sauna that was advertised online was closed. Rooms didn't look like they had been cleaned since last use. Filthy room with pubes in the bed, hair clogging the bath plughole and a Bra underwire found on bedside cabinet. Service staff were all friendly and helpful apart from Jill (we requested two single beds but were given a small double and told it would be extra for two singles) For the price we expected a deluxe size room not a small dirty hole Food was excellent and the pool was good except the non Sauna (the Nauna if you will) The front of the Hotel was also boarded up which looked taccy. More like Scotlands Spam Hotel if you ask me

On the website it clearly states the following, 'We have three spa treatment rooms, a SAUNA, steam room, jacuzzi, a fully equipped gym and an indoor heated swimming pool.' There is no sauna which is disappointing and false advertising and needs to be removed. The staff are super friendly, attentive and pleasant. The Deputy Manager, Ann, in particular was outstanding. She's a real asset to the hotel and made our stay fantastic. The hotel needs some attention to detail: replace dead light bulbs in hotel foyer and in rooms, fix holes in carpet on the staircase, make sure the room is cleaned properly (no toothpicks or paper is on the floor as was in our room). Net curtains or voil on the windows would be very practical, particularly in room 117 where folk can look right into your room when changing. It just offers extra privacy as closing curtains shouldn't be required when dressing. Unsure if management know this but the door to the roof on the first floor, beside what appears to have been a skylight at one point, is open and can be easily accessed by anyone. Health and Safety. The hotel is lovely, and surprisingly big but it really does require someone to go over everything with a fresh pair of eyes and make sure the customer is getting the best experience possible. It's all in the attention to detail. Breakfast. What a spread! The coffee tasted fantastic, pastries were delicious, fresh fruit yummy. Now THAT is the kind of attention to detail you need to followup in the rest of the hotel. It was outstanding. Lucas (I think his name was) was our server, he was brilliant. So attentive. The hotel is in the heart of Pitlochrie and a stones throw from the main street, it's a prime location with ample parking and very clean outside. The garden looks like it was maybe a work in progress, hopefully. All in all, we would come back to the hotel as the staff were great, brilliant food, fantastic night porter who was so accommodating and friendly, the only thing that let it down was attention to detail. Get that right and everything else will follow.

The room was ok, a bit old. But the room was very hot and it didn't work to turn down the heat.

Stayed here for an overnight in rooms 126 and 125 ( both double deluxe). The staff on the desk were very polite, helpful and made first impressions of the hotel warm and friendly. They guided us through the self check in for parking which was easy, free and no issues. The rooms were spacious, clean and had everything you would expect. Usb charger sockets each side of the bed. Housecoat, slippers provided and really nice soaps, shampoo etc. The staff were so nice, house keeping staff, maintenance and servers were all polite and friendly. We all had a great sleep in comfortable beds. The hotel is an old victorian building and has charm and character, expect creaky floorboards in some rooms and from rooms above you. The next morning, we prebooked a table for breakfast at 9am. The staff were cheerful and food was hot and served quickly, it was a busy morning and the breakfast team worked hard serving the guests and getting tables prepared for others. The location of the hotel is very central and a few minutes walk to the shops, cafes etc. Overall a great stay, highly recommended. Thank you to all the hard working staff.

Had a 2 night stay for a wee getaway and enjoyed every minute, the staff were so friendly and helpful. The room was so clean and tidy with everything we required with a braw view. The swimming pool was just right size and hardly anyone else using it while we were there. The food was very good with a good plateful, would highly recommend the soup and the steak pie, it was all home made and delicious, whilst breakfast was exactly what you would expect in a gorgeous setting, will defo be back soon for another midweek break and some pampering from the staff. 10/10

We visited this hotel many times several years ago and decided to go back as we were going to a show. We were shocked at how downhill this hotel has become. We booked a double room and could not believe the size for two people. It was like a cupboard! We had to ask for pillows on arrival and there was only one set of towels and one cup.The bed was definitely a large single. I'm sure they were expecting a single person. We didn't sleep at all the first night. Not one for complaining I went to reception and complained. The lady at reception was so very helpful and gave us a key to look at the "deluxe" room. This was much bigger and the bed was Kingsize. I wouldn't say deluxe though. This isn't exactly the cheapest hotel but the deluxe room was maybe more the price. The decor throughout the hotel was very scruffy and tired, with plaster peeling from the walls in the corridor outside the lift area. The once beautiful hallway cabinets looked aweful, they used to have lovely jewelry and gifts to buy but now some old whisky boxes. The sitting areas had uncomfortable couches and the once lovely main entrance is no longer, instead u have to use a horrid side door which leads into the reception/bar.. The staff were very helpful and chatty but clearly they have to do more than one job, the very nice barman disappeared to fit lightbulbs, leaving customers waiting for a drink. The breakfast was very nice, we did enjoy the cooked breakfast and range of breakfast foods and drinks. All in all we were so disappointed that this once vibrant, beautiful hotel has now been left to go to rack and ruin. Come on owners sort it out! So sad.

Early dinner before visiting the enchanted forest. Staff were helpful in bringing our meal quickly so we could catch our bus. Place was quiet but food was very good and more reasonable than the other Indian round the corner which we've eaten at previously.
