I've had Ramen noodles in Japan and in the village where Ramen noodles were first created so long ago. In this village in Japan, it is truly a cuisine your tastebuds will never forget but at Sasuke in London they have a long way to go. The ladies serving are truly lovely, very attentive and I give them 4 stars, just not the food. We ate Chicken Karaage Ramen which came with a soya sauce broth and was almost clear (see pic), which explains the complete lack of flavour or taste. The noodles were so disappointing but the Chicken Karaage (fried chicken pieces) was really good. Also had Sasuke Shoyu Ramen and replaced the Shashu pork that comes as a topping, with Chicken Karaage (see pic) and while the soup broth was a great improvement on the other Ramen dish, it certainly isn't worth returning for. It was dashi (seafood) base but it was very bland and all I could taste was the miso flavour. It was supposed to come with Bok Choy, which is a very cheap Chinese vegetable yet I received one small piece in my soup - what an insult. It also had two thin pieces of bamboo. The noodles tasted surprisingly good as they looked like packet soup noodles. Usually Ramen soup comes with all sorts of vegetable toppings and all I got was a piece of Bok Choy and 2 thin bits of bamboo! Japanese people take great effort to develop their soup flavours, each person takes pride in their own recipe and it is kept secret, passed verbally to each generation. What a pity this restaurant has no care to continue such a wonderful tradition. I won't be returning.

I walked by this place just looking for a place to eat that wasn't too crowded. This restaurant had about 2 or 3 tables taken and it looked pretty empty. I like ramen so I figured why not give it a try since it was on the company dime anyways.I ordered my usual, a miso ramen with extra chashu. It came out pretty quickly and I have to say I was mildly surprised about the food. Given that the restaurant was pretty empty compared to other places on a Thursday night, I didn't have my hopes up. It turns out the noodles were chewy, the chashu was nice and fat and the broth was pretty up to par. Having said that, the £13 bowl of noodles is definitely far more than I would spend for ramen. That equates to about $20 USD which you don't even need to pay that much in NYC. Then again everything is expensive in London.Would I go again? Probably not unless I was in Soho and in serious need of some ramen.

Tucked between Leicester Square/Picadilly Circus and Soho is Sasuke Ramen. As a vegetarian, there are two options on the menu, which is more than what other Ramen places in London offer, so you can understand I was feeling spoilt for choices. Both were really good although I prefer the curry ramen for its stronger broth. It is a very relaxed and casual dining place, no one really hangs around for long; a eat and go type of place. The service is really fast and the ramen appears on your table shortly after placing your order. So it is an ideal option if you are in order of some good food before the musical/theatres.

An excellent Ramen restaurant for a quick bite on a Saturday night. The restaurant looks what it is, an authentic Japanese noodle bar. The Shoyu Tokyo Ramen was lovely and i will be back when next in London. Shared some pan fried Japanese dumplings with my other half and she had the Ramen with extra pork. The dumplings were amazing! The staff are lovely and very attentive in that Asian food culture way which is great. Can't fault it. I always ask since the recent news if all the 12.5% service charge goes to staff members when it is added automatically to my bill and not for the first time i was met with an embarrassed silence. Please give the full amount to your staff they deserve it and importantly that is the contract you enter into with your customers (at least that is what we are lead to believe) when we see it on our bill. London is an expensive place to live, and good service should always be rewarded not used as a top up to revenue. I wish be back though your food was great!

Having whittled down the many ramen bars on offer at Soho, we decided to try Sasuke. First impressions were promising with an array of Japanese locals enjoying their lunch. Promptly we were greeted by a smiling waitress and were shown to our table. Feeling spoilt for choice, we decided to go for the chicken karaage and the dipping tsukemen. The chicken karaage was faultless. Beautiful crispy, golden batter and moist chicken, we could hardly believe our luck! Unfortunately as soon as our culinary experiences started, they were prompted ended by the tsukemen. For £10.90 we were greeted by a reasonable amount of noodles with two slivers of bamboo shoots, one piece of chashu and a dinky watercress topping. (Talk about being on the stingy side, even my dining companion exclaimed "but where are the veg?"). The noodles were slightly al-dente, but nevertheless the texture was perfect. The dipping fish broth was too overpowering (it would have been helpful if they had stated on their menu as to what the dipping broth consisted). The chashu wasn't bad half bad, and the bamboo shoots well...they were bamboo shoots.Nonetheless if you don't mind burning a hole in your wallet, then you may not mind the offerings at Sasuke. However with so many ramen bars in London, sadly my quest to find the perfect one continues....

The waiter said beacause the table was for 4 even if the restaurant was empty and was nobody there. Then they gave us the menus and we receive no explanation of the menu or of the dishes. However, the worst moment was after we order, I was with my girfriend trying to have a conversation and to relax but was impossible because the waiters were laughing and shouting and was impossible to enjoy the dinner. As wasn't bad enough I found a hair in my ramen and when I call the waiter he answered me We are Asians our hair is different, and then I heard them laughing again. The ramen was avarage and the price excessive for the dish. The service was a nightmare, it was the worst service in my life (and I have to paid 12.5% of service charge)I would not suggest this place even to my worst enemy.

I had tried Sasuke before back when it was still just outside the main Mitsukoshi restaurant as a ramen bar, both ramen and chicken karaage were fantastic. Their stand-alone ramen bar in Soho is not difficult to locate, less than 5mins walk from Piccadilly Circus. It's not as roomy as before but probably because they've just opened not too long ago. To be fair the crew said there are more tables downstairs. Their ramen and chicken still taste great. I am no expert of how pork char sui is made but the whole meal warms the heart (especially on a cold weather). Portions are neither small nor big, just right for an average consumer. Not a myriad of ramen choices I would say but I highly recommend (forgive me if I'm not entirely accurate on the name of dish) "pork tonkatsu ramen" in seafood broth. Beverage-wise, options include regular range of soda and a variety of Japanese liquor. The staff are hospitable and ensure that you are happy with what you're having. An average meal is worth around more or less £20, inclusive of ramen, sides, and drinks. My only critic is the not so cosy feel their square/box-like chairs give you. Otherwise, it's a good place to dine and chat with friends.

Comimo

Finally got to Bunsik as the queue was no longer out the door and up the road. Had the mozzarella potato and was so disappointed. The taste was not good- maybe the cooking oil was old- and the potato

As it says in the title, this is the place to bear when it comes to authentic and deliciously made bubble tea. The service is always fast and I don’t think I can emphasise just how wonderful the drink

We were in london unannounced and looking for a place to eat. I remember topjaw reviewing this and the noodles that everyone was raving about. I can only assume it’s changed ownership or given up! Fi
