Sargar in Harrow

The restaurant was nicely decorated and clean but the food was average. A bit bland for me. We ordered chilli paneer which was low in salt and not chilli same with the rest of the food. The Nutella dosa was a let down but the cheese masala dosa and deserts were nice.

Very disappointing. We are keen to support local restaurants but this will be our one and only meal here. Maybe we made bad choices but the vegetable dishes had the consistency of baby food and the dosas were greasy and not at all crispy. Service was mixed, the waitress tried hard but the 2 servers behaved like they would rather be somewhere else. There are lots of great Indian restaurants in the Harrow area, sadly this is not one of them.

Fab dinner for 7 on a quiet Thursday night. We enjoyed vegan thalis, dosas and a few curries, the food was all delicious with very generous portions. Huge array of choice, all veggie with lots and lots of vegan options too, only thing not so good was the wine! Service was good if a little quick. Food and drinks all very reasonable :)

We had a family lunch last Sunday in October, and hired the whole restaurant, this is the second year we have done this - highly recommend this is anyone looking for a family function. All the staff were great and very attentive. The food was yummy and catered to all our needs - children needs, vegan, no onion and garlic. Would highly recommend and we will be back - the manager Jagdish was very calm and very accommodating all the way from booking, planning and going as per plan on the day.

Sagar is situated just a few doors away from North Harrow Tube Station. We visited early afternoon midweek so was very quiet inside. Simple decor with sectioned booths down one side of the long seating area with some small tables for 2 next to them. The other side is lined by tables with a continuous banquette against the wall with chairs facing. In all , seating for about 70 , I guess. Pleasant Indian music in the background. The food on offer is all vegan/vegetarian & from Southern India mainly although a few exceptions such as some Chowpatty snacks which you would find on the famous beach of that name in Mumbai & one or two dishes found in virtually all Indian restaurants such as aloo gobi. All the usual starters : idli , vada etc, good selection of dosas & uthappams &some thalis. Thought the food was delicious , lovely crisp dosa , equally crisp on the outside vada. Possibly the idlis were not top rank but overall we thoroughly enjoyed our visit & will certainly be back. Very good service by pleasant waiter. Water not provided - maybe that should be. Nice clean toilets /washrooms. Great value.

Took my wife and children to this MEGA! Vegans will find so so so much to enjoy. If they don't, it's because they are dead! Bring your business contacts too. My clients were there and opion. Also three wishes pub has options for after dinner.

Excellent timely food, attentive un-rushed service and a relaxed cosy atmosphere combine to offer a wonderful option for those wanting to include more delicious plant based options, at very reasonable prices. We attended Sagar primarily because of its broad and well considered vegan options. Many of the curries could easily have been prepared with dairy, the fact that they managed to retain all the flavour without the use of dairy is a testament to the ethos of the restaurant. This is our new go to restaurant. Well done.

I visit here often with a few friends when we want to catch up and it's always been lovely. We are especially a fan of the dosa that they do! Would highly recommend the dosa.

Amazing vegetarian restaurant with a good selection of dishes including the zeppelin sized paper dosa rolls. So far not a single dish has disappointed and to top it off the prices as very affordable, making for a fantastic dinner out on a budget. Very friendly staff and still have great covid measures in place. We'll worth a visit.

I came often, this time with a friend, ordering Vegan Thali and Dosa. Delicious food and very affordable all. Vegetarian/Vegan restaurant with many different dishes of traditional cuisine. I highly recommend it.

We went for lunch here with the little ones. The place is nice and clean looking when you walk In. Worryingly they told us not to worry about scanning the track and trace and go sit at table!! Which is a bit worrying. The guy at the till did the same with everyone who walked in!! The tables were spread apart nicely so you were not sitting next to anyone. We ordered Bhel puri, aloo papdi chaat, masala dosa, Chana bhatura, papad, and the Rajdani thali. The food came out the bhel was just soggy and the topping of sev was stale and old! I had to send it back the second one came out the same so told him we didn’t want it. The aloo papdi chaat was tasteless and watery underneath! And the didn’t really use chutney they just sprinkled chilli powder on top so we left that too. Really bad starters. The masala dosa was half decent compared to the other things not the best filling taste wise but it was edible, the chutneys were watery and tasteless like they had been frozen and reused. The papad were stale too, but we ended up eating that cause we were hungry. All the curries In the thali were delicious, really nice and tasty, came with hot chappati and bhajia all really nice. So may be ordered the wrong thing. So we decided to order the chana bhatura as we were both still hungry. That came out quite quickly. The chana itself was really nice and tasty the bhatura the puri itself was served nice and tasty came out piping hot. The only bad thing about that dish was the amount of oil they didn’t drain off the puri before serving it. We had to leave half the puri because it was soaked in oil! The prices and portion sizes are both good here just shame the food doesn’t match the quality of the restaurant. Really disappointed how bad it was. Won’t be visiting there again.

Really enjoyed the food, and the prices were very reasonable. Lunch with a drink for 2 cost less than £15. Would definitely visit again.

Very poor service for Harrow branch. We were on waiting queue for more than 45 mins and then they come out to say we no longer accepting any tables. One man serving food,ordering and possibly preparing. Also, will not answer any calls.

We have just started exploring new Indian restaurants after our favourite, Himalayan Flavour in Northwood Hills got taken over and went downhill. It is now called Ruby M's.

Had booked a table early afternoon for evening . Parking is in nearby roads. Were seated promptly. Waiters are good and provide efficient , friendly service. Among the items we ordered were Sagar Special Dosa, Paper masala Dosa, Sagar Special Uttapam, kancheepuram Idli. All were served quickly. Waiter gave us a choice of having starters served initially followed by mains or everything together. All the food tasted great. All in all an enjoyable evening..

I love South Indian food and have been to Sagar more than once before. Food has always been somewhere between OK and good, and has also always been very good value.

Finally a restaurant with authentic taste of fresh herbs and spices from back home. Couldn't get better in terms of food, service & surprisingly reasonable. We enjoyed so much that even after completing our meal the taste lasted forever. Will definitely come back again for many more visits to culinary paradise.

For the first time in Harrow. Food is absolutely amazing! Onion Rava Masala Dosa at it's best. Decor is slightly different to other Sagar Restaurants... I would say possibly better. Clean and modern. I will be back.

I've visited the Covent Garden branch several times and loved it, so thought I would try this one as it was closer. I was not disappointed!

We had made a reservation for my husbands birthday and requested the two high chairs they had. When we arrived at the restaurant those high chairs were not available as they did not reserve them. Closer to the end of our meal they became available. The staff was friendly but not so accommodating - for example I wanted to change the chapatti on my thali to a bhatura and would have paid a little extra but they refused. Something very simple. The food itself i thought was a little bland. The restaurant was clean. With so many other better places in the are of the same cuisine its guaranteed that I, or any of my family, will not be returning.

We recently enjoyed a pleasant evening at this restaurant with friends. This place is tastefully decorated and is quiet enough to allow everyone to chat easily around the table. The portions were generous and the prices reasonable. The food itself was tasty, but nothing that special and a bit on the oily side. The paper dosas were huge and rather beautiful but disappointingly the mashed potato filling inside was rather bland. Service was friendly, although the waiter failed to bring the rice we had ordered with the main course and had to be reminded. I'd definitely go back if I was in the area, but I wouldn't make a great effort.

I am not a vegetarian! The visit was a family occasion for a person who is gluten free, wheat free and vegetarian! I was not really looking forward to the meal. What a pleasant surprise!! I had the North Indian platter, just less than £9, and thoroughly enjoyed the range of dishes, the rice and the chapati and papadums. The restaurant is licensed and has the usual Kingfisher and Cobra beers. We went on a Sunday lunchtime and by 2pm was getting busy - so maybe book. Staff were very friendly and helpful.

This south indian chain has recently branched out of central london. However in harrow there is no shortage of dosa competition, with better options elsewhere. The restaurant is quite nice inside and the service was good. The food was quite average though and did not stand out as warranting a return trip.

The correct answer is most definitely south although staying at the equator is the best option. This is a local south Indian restaurant which serves poor-medium quality South Indian food. However, their so called "famous curry dishes" from the north are at best pitiful. They never taste fresh (how can they be when the food sometimes arrives within 30 seconds of your order), come with a tonne of oil and always leave a bad stomach. I tried eating different foods from the menu several times but never again. Only reason to give 2 stars is that the ambience is above average for a relatively affordable restaurant and the staff are friendly. My conclusion is stay at the equator (home) and cook your own!

So glad they have a local branch to us!

We have been here on 2 occasions, both times food and service has been very good! We have ordered starters to share, pani puri, sev puri, and dhosa's which have been spot on each time.

I was extremely disappointed by the service I received during this last visit to the extent that I am put off from visiting the restaurant again, which would be a shame because the food quality is actually pretty good.

I've tried several vegetarian restaurants in Harrow and Sagar is without doubt the best. For starters I've tried the potato bonda,samosas and chilli paneer and these are all delicious. The mains are equally as good with mysore masala dosa, matter paneer and potato palya my favourites. The puddings are very good too and all the food is very reasonably priced. Overall a great eating experience, highly recommended.

The food was tasty without being over spiced. We had the Thali. I loved the coconut flavored veggie curry and the yellow fluffy fragrant saffron rice. The paratha was so so. Could have been softer. Pani puri was too bland. The pani Could have done with a sprinkle of salt and tangy spices . Overall , worth visiting again. Service good ; food freshly cooked . Oh and I loved the smart sparse decor!

Tonight we went to Sagar's for a Birthday meal and we we're all really excited and looking forward to having an enjoyable evening together after a busy working day.

We were pretty excited to visit Sagar. The place has been done up beautiful and worth going just for that. Service also good. However the food was a let down. It wasn't that flavoursome and lacked that total satisfaction you get after a really tasty thali. Dosa ok but had better in other local places. Not so sure about the quality of the cooking oil either. See what you think perhaps other items on the menu are better!

We have been visiting this restaurant regularly in the last two weeks as our kitchen is being renovated, which means we have very limited cooking facilities. Furthermore, we do enjoy South Indian food and are vegetarians, so on paper this place is perfect for us.

Went here with my grandparents and parents. We are avid South Indian foodies but safe to say this restaurant is not the best South Indian food we have had. The dosa were average, the Masala inside the dosa was not great. We even sent some food back because it was cold. Only plus side was my dad enjoyed the thali. Wouldn't go back. Not great really. Much cheaper and better food places in the local area.

After it being recommended to me, I have been to Sagar twice now in North Harrow and I have found it absolutely fantastic both times.

Went there with few friends! And what a service what a delightful taste of vegetarian cuisine! And all at a very affordable price, I love meat but I can't wait to visit the place again buy this time with the Mrs she'll be impress

New Vegetarian restaurant in Harrow , so we though we will try it out.

We had dinner here for the first time and will definitely be going back. We ordered two curries, a garlic rice and a vegetable pancake. The sauces that came with it were really good. We finished it off with a dessert each. Lovely flavours, great service!

I went there with my family for a meal and found their food short of authentic South Indian quality. The idlis were very crumbly and the rasam vada was very hard. Did not enjoy the overall experience.

It was a girls night out to enjoy and feel early Christmas. It's a Vegetarian restaurant and the whole group was vegetarian, South Indian food was very good in taste and good value for money. The person who was serving our table had a very good sense of humor and very presentable. Only one drawback was Chutney and Daal (Sambhar)'s quantity were too less.

For a restaurant that only opened a few days ago (Nov 2015) really impressed. I can see the quality of the décor has really put this restaurant on the map.
