Lovely food once again. Had the Sunday lunch this time and It was fab so much meat. Kids had burger boxes and thay loved them.

What a fantastic place! Spotlessly clean, warm and welcoming, serving fabulous food!! Found it by accident while travelling the A5 from Llandudno to Llangollen. So glad we did. Will definitely eat here again.

What a lovely pub not many around like this one anymore. Home made food to order and wow it was nice and plenty of it the landlady doesn’t want you to go home hungry 😉. Very friendly and helpful nothing is a problem. Highly recommended and we will be returning

If you are looking for homemade food at a reasonable price, with a friendly atmosphere, look no further. Dogs and babies are welcome and the staff tended to every request. Reasonably priced and all dishes were homemade. Don’t expect to order and eat within 20 minutes. Plenty of parking with a five star hygiene rating. Thank you for an excellent evening.

On way home from Llandudno with wife and mother in law, needed a break . Fantastic warm welcome as we walked in . Only serving Sunday lunch we were told ,wonderful aroma of roast hit us . After a long weekend away I had planned having a "light" lunch .. straight out the window, choice of roast beef ,pork or lamb or all 3 ..we ordered 2blamb ,one all 3 . Young lady came back and offered a smaller portion for mother in law as normal portions are big ,which was fantastic. Wgat came out was still big for mum. Excellent selection of veg and potatoes, rias and mash,cauliflower, carrot and swede mash , cabbage, broccoli, a larges Yorkshire pud and a pot of gravy ,I was offered beef or lamb gravy. Presented on a large slate and was a fantastic Sunday roast lunch which would Grace anyone's table ,great honest cooking at its best. Big portions in a cosy environment. I've been a chef for 40+ yrs and even though I've run 5☆ hotels I throughly enjoyed everything from the welcome, the cat with hosts and the wonderful food served. Hands down the best pub food we've ever had. Freshly-cooked, quality ingredients and ridiculously good value. The welcoming staff contribute to a great atmosphere, but the food is the star of the show. It does take-away too, so I'm sure that's as good.

A great little find, close to a holiday home that we'd booked. Tracey and the team were very accommodating, and the food was amazing! Everything scratch cooked and tremendous... it's a basic 'Pub Grub' menu, but we enjoyed every mouthful. Thanks for making us feel so welcome!

Fantastic service. Lovely family run business, serving great food. Two fish and chips and a gammon, both brilliant portion sizes. The bottle of water on the table was a lovely added extra.

Another great Sunday lunch. Great portions. Very accommodating to our needs and requests. Lovely owners, very friendly. Serve not only Sunday dinner but also steaks burgers and pizza plus more. We stayed locally so walked here for dinner. It was very empty and looks a bit derelict from the outside. The bar staff was not very chatty but the chef from the kitchen was. Food was ok, not the best, not the worst. Chips were a bit oily and undercooked. The meat in the burger was very good quality.

Visited for Sunday lunch with family of 12. Booked ahead. Very friendly staff and good Sunday lunch and other meals. All enjoyed their meals, staff came round asking if we wanted more meats which we didn’t as there was more than enough. Highly recommend.

Happy to see the place re opened once again. Very nice inside as it’s all been refurbished to a high standard. Lovely friendly staff,very welcoming and dog friendly too. We could tell the food was very good quality and there was plenty of it. We couldn’t clear our plates and had no room for desert. We will be coming back.

Best food we’ve had for a very long time! We came on our way back from zipworld decided to give a local place a try and what a great decision that was! Freshly cooked organic food with huge portions. My partner had a chicken Tika curry which she really enjoyed. I had a huge T-Bone steak which we was told was from the local butchers which I must say was the nicest steak I’ve had in a long long time.

This was our first time for Sunday lunch. We are not local but visit the area a lot so will definitely visit again. I was so glad I decided not to have a starter as the main course was a really generous portion. There was choice of beef or lamb or a mix of both was offered. The meat was lovely as were the vegetables. We liked the fact that we all had an individual pot of gravy. This is well thought out. Four in our party. Two had the whole pot, one had half a pot and the other no gravy at all. It was a cold November day so glad to say the restaurant was nice and warm. The tables are nicely spaced out. So many places you visit and it isn’t warm enough or there are too many tables crammed in to a small place. The owners are pleasant and helpful. I know this is only what we should expect but again some places have staff who are on another planet. Give this place support. They deserve it.

Absolute gem of a place. Family run pub with such a warm welcome from everyone including the locals. Food was really good! Even cut my chips up smaller because I’m fussy. Couldn’t fault the place and would definitely recommend to families, people popping past and couples.

We stumbled upon this restaurant while driving to Snowden national park and looking for somewhere to stop for food. The owners are very welcoming, very friendly and lovely to chat to. We all really enjoyed our food and had no complaints at all. Food was all fresh, home cooked and piping hot, I had the steak an ale pie with beans, chips and gravy and really enjoyed it. We asked where the closest shop was and if it would still be open as it was getting late and when we said we only needed bread they gave us half a loaf, very thankful.! They are also dog friendly. Thank you so much for looking after us, we will be back for sure!

Went for Sunday lunch on recommendation of a friend and wasn’t disappointed. Our group all had the beef, tender and plentiful, accompanied by mashed potatoes, roast potatoes, broccoli, cauliflower, carrot and swede, and home made Yorkshire pudding. Gravy individually served in a gravy boat each - the first time in ages I’ve not had to ask for more gravy 😁. The large plates meant the food was presented perfectly and not on top of each other. Apple crumble and ice cream followed for dessert. The owners were present, attentive and very pleasant. If you want a great Sunday lunch that has a proper home cooked taste to it in pleasant surroundings and nice staff, this is a place to come to

Great Sunday lunch and lovely fish and chips. Only read recent reviews as new owners building up a very decent business. So far alcohol can only be served with food but this may change, worth asking if you go. Starters mains and pudding 10/10. Very friendly staff.

Great pub, friendly staff and good food. I'd recommend the lamb shank. The landlord is really welcoming and overall a great experience.

Had dinner here after a long walk. The atmosphere was quiet (no musak) and welcoming. Our pointer was welcomed and there was even a meal on the menu for the dog!

We were looking for a place for a meal so had a look on TripAdvisor, we had a look at the reviews and decided this was the place, we pulled up and couldn't get in the car park as it looked like work was being done also the place looked closed, I drove down the road and turned round to have another go but when pulling in it still looked closed but we parked near the door a chap came out and stood in the doorway just staring at us making us feel very uncomfortable then another couple of younger chaps came out and done the same, we didn't even get out of the car,the place looks run down and shut and going on my first impression I wouldn't eat here.

Bastante ajetreada, pero la comida era buena. Yo tenía un langostino slald con algunos excelentes pan pero mi husnad comimos cordero y me encantó. Parecen ser capaces de satisfacer a todo tipo de necesidades de alimentos. Por supuesto es muy informal, como la mayoría de los comensales han sido caminatas. También tienen lugares para comer al aire libre, incluyendo a lo largo del río.

Had a 3 course xmas meal here recently with friends. Food was excellent, plentiful and hot and tasty! The only downside to the night was the fact that the pub was extremely cold, quite offputting really.

El pub estaba en ruta, así que decidimos darle una oportunidad. Estamos muy contentos de haberlo hecho, nos recibieron muy bien y se sirve rápidamente. Nos dijeron que el orden no sería rápido, ya que todo está preparado y fresco. La espera no fue en realidad demasiado largo y cuando la comida llegó nos sorprendió gratamente. Las porciones eran enormes y la comida caliente y deliciosa. Disfrutamos de nuestra comida en frente de la chimenea crepitante abierta y el propietario mostró un interés genuino en lo que había sido hasta la casa donde estaba. Muy educado y ciertamente no hicieron sentir como un extraño. Lo recomiendo encarecidamente! !

Paramos para comer en el camino de vuelta desde el norte de Gales a dólares. Nos recibieron cálidamente y tomó nuestra orden explicando que todo estaba fresco, así que me llevaría media hora o así, que estaba bien... Tiempo para un muy buen Restaurante Thatchers Oro y había un castillo inflable para entretener a los niños, así que no tuvimos que! Comida llegó un poco antes de lo esperado, y era preciosa (quote hijo adolescente: este es mi tipo de lugar). Por desgracia, la izquierda de nuestro cambio y bolsa de bebé, completo, en nuestro estómago forma merrier. La bolsa tenía el bolso de mi mujer!! Les llamé y me dijeron que habían mantenido seguro. Organicé un courier (8.50 libras - ganga) y la bolsa llegó seguro y sonido en envases cuidadosamente estudiado. Incluso tenían a imprimir las etiquetas de mensajería en su extremo, que lo hicieron sin ningún problema. La gente de la Saracen's Head, Te saludo. Bien vale la pena a sus lectores a medida!!

Estábamos buscando un sitio para comer los domingos por la noche y nos encontramos con este lugar. Metimos en negar la servían comida y nos alegramos mucho de haberlo hecho! 2 caiga del cordero de hueso cordero con verduras perfectamente cocinado (la mayoría de los lugares de cocinar) y puré de patatas y salsa de 8 libras cada una. Los propietarios fueron muy amables y simpáticos y no tuvimos una tarde relajada. Sin duda volveremos si alguna vez en la zona.

been to eat 3 or 4 times and always very good. There's a 2 meals for £13 menu having chicken tikka masala, lasagne, chili con carne and steak and kidney pudding. Servcde with a smile, if a little slow as the kitchen is new and a bit small but the food is piping hot, well cooked and generous portions.

Found this little gem after a long days racing at GYG - admit from first look we were unsure but got the nicest welcome, very helpful. Explained they were in middle of rush and food would be 40 mins as all cooked from fresh. Was spot on with guesstimate and was the nicest home cooked food and just what we all needed. Well worth the wait. Now in the list for when we visit next time and look forward to when your B&B rooms open as very convenient for karting at GYG.

We were passing through on the way home from Llandudno and decided to stop in on Sunday for a quick bite to eat.The menu seemed a bit basic so we didn't expect much, really thought it was just microwave food, but we were pleasantly surprised.Had a great pint of thatchers and 2 roast lamb dinners. Good sized lamb shank, proper home made chips (none of this frozen rubbish!) all home cooked an very tasty. Reasonably priced too.Would definitely come here again

We stopped here on the way back from tree top adventure in betwys-y-coed. The pub doesnt look too much from outside but we stopped as we were really hungry and on arriving it is simple inside aswell. However we received a really warm welcome from the barman (owner we think) and his young son. We ordered food which was really reasonably priced if not a bit too cheap (especially as it was so good when it came!). We played pool and had some drinks which again were really fairly priced (large wine was £3.95 which is really reasonable considering the extortionate rates some places charge; wine, coke and j20 only came to £7) When the food came it was clear it had all been freshly cooked and was a great plateful and it was absolutely lovely. We were really impressed with the quality as it was better than we have had in a lot of chain pubs down our way. We would definately stop again if we head up to snowdon or similar and we would thoroughly recommend that anyone passing stop for food. We will see you again!

Stopped here for dinner on the way back to Wrexham after visiting Caernafon Castle with friends and their two young children and received a warm welcome from the owners. The food was fresh, tasty and reasonably priced, lovely real fire which kept us warm as even though it was the end of May it was very chilly out!. My friends' young son even made friends with the owners son and had a game of pool then went off to a nearby park to have a kick-about. Will definitely call back if in the area again.

Imagine, finish a hard day scrambling up the north face of Tryfan. Walking down after the summit the slightly easier descent via Bwlch Tryfan and the beautiful Llyn Bochlwyd back to the Ogwen Valley. 6 hours! No Café open when eventually started the journey home to the Midlands. So get to Cerrigydrudion and there is a café, dam it, closed! However, next to café, there is a pub! The Saracens Head Hotel, apparently it has been a longstanding, welcoming refuge for travellers. In this case, hungry travellers! Ideal? Decide to order 2 home-made steak and ale pies! Delicious! The service friendly and welcoming as suggested. The 2 girls, Tracey and Rita need to keep places like this going as you never know when hungry travellers need respite! Recommended for sure!
