Sanjha Chulha in Barking and Dagenham

I would never go again. Chutney was off, I ordered red wine and that was off and also the vegetarian starter was awful too. I didn't order mains so no idea ! I left.

Such a wonderful place with correct amount of spices and very clean on top with beautiful decoration lovely food and all staff is very nice

Food had no flavour and no quality to it, freshness was nowhere to be seen. Nanbreads were chewy and tasteless.

They claim to offer a discount on the Market meal app. when I called, the guy over the phone had no clue and told me they do not do anything like Markeet meal. Then he said the manager is not there and he has no clue.

Attended a wedding over the weekend, the food was ok but what wasn't acceptable was the tone and manner of the staff especially the manager highly unprofessional behaviour if your looking for good service then this isn't the place, rude couldn't speak English i suggest you learn to speak before trying to run a business, there is certain level of professional required when speaking to customers and this place lacks that, avoid at all cost you will be disappointed

I would not recommend this restaurant. The service was shocking the waitress were incredibly rude. I went with a group of 5 and there was a complete Lack of etiquette from the staff. The drinks took an hour to arrive followed by our starters which I had to request for several times by different staff. There were two events going on and it seemed that those were more important. It was very loud with blaring music and no care for the paying customer. The waitresses spoke very rudely to us. We left after our starter.Whcih they tried to overcharge for. The food was pretty poor for the price you pay. The most shocking service not sure who hired these waitresses but they should not be in a customer facing role.

There for a wedding banquet. All ok, but not spectacular. No changing facilities for babies... remarkably...

Came to London for vacation, and was craving for good Indian food, must say the management is so good. Specially the manager Sam, i was overwhelmed as he comfort me,made me feel like I am back home.must agree his management skills are superb. Also the service was quick and this young chap,his name was Vikram, greeted with smile and was very joyful. Will definitely recommend everyone.

Amazing place, missed india for quite a long time and then visited this place for authentic Indian food, must say the staff is super friendly and the food is so delicious. Now I try and go once a week for sure.

Ordered for a small party at home: Excellent quality food. Great portions and freshly cooked. Sam was really helpful and assisted me all the way with my enquiries and requests. Definitely recommend it for good Indian food.

Nice food with reasonable price.

We booked the restaurant for a surprise 70th birthday for approximately 50 guests. The staff were pleasant and very friendly. All my guests were very happy with the quality of food and no complaints. Was a bit sceptical about booking at first according to previous reviews but the food was good when we came to sample it and was even better on the day. Big compliments to the chef as he done an amazing job with all that was orderd. The bar dose need to have fixed prices as some guests were paying different rates so did get a bit confusing. Otherwise would highly recommend to all.

Excellent food….Butter Chicken is a must try.Would even recommend the mango lassi as well as the chicken tikka.Excellent customer service.Highly recommend it to everyone who is looking to enjoy authentic Indian food taste.

I had a 40th bday party here...the room was a bit old n needed refurbishing...however we made it look nice with the decorations. It was a nice party with nice staff n music...the food was lovely...we would defo have another party here...nice for a little get together n bday party...thanks guys.

For Indian taste buds, having known original authentic taste of biryanis and other items that I ordered, in percentage terms the taste was close to 60%, which I believe is good enough for the target market.

Sooo disappointed with this restaurant, you can bring your drinks, but you should also bring your own food. The food that we were served was not fresh at all, this was an organised event and the menu was decided before hand. The order was incomplete, some food was cold, and it was clearly not fresh. Do not order any food as you will be disappointed. The wanted us to pay the bill before we received dessert, male waiter also came outside to the car and asked for tip. This was for my 50th birthday, and the guests were not happy at all, if you wish to make a booking go to another restaurant. They clearly have no hospitality skills.

Celebrated my sisters 50th and the food was not brilliant. Tried to con us as we had booked a set menu with extra dish for starter and the owner said we hadn't even though it was on the receipt. They then brought out what was missing after we finished the starter and it was cold and not cooked properly. For mains they gave us old naan and not fresh ,when we complained they insisted it was fresh and then would not give us desert until we paid the bill. The bill was incorrect as they tried to charge us for an extra person. When we left the waiter was insisting on a tip from the birthday girl. We used to do all our functions at this restaurant but will not anymore.

Food was great,and staff very humble. I would say this is one of the indian restraunt who's food taste like back home ,not like the other indian selling bengali food

Ordered home delivery dinner today, most horrible Indian food I ever tasted. Actually it spoiled our taste. Most expensive and rubbish food. It doesn’t taste kadai panner nor Chenna masala nor Sev puri nor Pappadi chat. I live couple of roads from the restaurant but my delivery came from 8.8miles away!!! Full of rubbish

Celebrated my 21st, absolutely disappointed, went to view the venue and i was happy with the size until i turned up on the day to find out the venue was divided into 2 . we had not enough space for all guests, it was so embarrassing. Also the owner denied the fact that it was not the full size when we visited (i showed proof on my phone as i has a video before booking ) owner had told all staff to not serve the mains as he wanted cash payment first, this was not requested on booking date and i was willing to pay by card, owner kept refusing to take payment and demanded cash to avoid taxes. No discount was given due to the smaller venue size, instead he asked for 20% on top because of card payment. didn't have the decency to call and inform his customers of these issues!!!

Absolutely disgusting, booked the venue for a birthday party and was told on the day to pay for the dinner before serving. As he did not take card payment due to tax issue, absolute crooks. Be careful when using this place. Also cut off half the venue when I had booked this place, and still wants full payment!!!!!!

Visited this place for a function last week. The Interior is pretty basic. The food was ok. The staff seemed like they'd had zero training. When the buffet was laid out, I asked what was vegetarian. The waitress insisted everything was. It obviously wasn't. Eventually I figured it out after asking my meat eating friend to try everything. Dishes, need to be labeled and staff trained. I was also disappointed to see that the serving spoons in the dishes were being cross contaminated. The chicken was so close to the chilli paneer tray, bits of chicken had fallen into the vegetarian chilli paneer. This really wasn't a sanja chulla, especially for vegetarians.

If i could give a 0 i would, service was poor waited an hour for food and it was horrible and it was warm and was not upto standard it seems like it was re heated after waiting a hour you would expect it to be at least average. Bread was not what we ordered and they overcharged us as well. We will never be returning...

The other day we’re at this restaurant named Sanjha Chulha as we’re craving for some hardcore Indian food . It is located at Dagenham . Pretty easy to spot . The service is really very good . Hygiene is well maintained. They offer Ala carte on weekdays and buffet on weekends along ala carte . Buffet is pretty decent . Buffer consist of both veg & non veg dishes . The indian flavour in all the dishes that we binged was intact . It’s an unlimited buffet for £9.99 which is a steal !! Keep up the good work !! Cheers !!

Very poor service. Have to wait so long for food to be served. Cabbage fried rice was served instead of chicken fried rice. Normally a restaurant should serve rice and curry together but in this place ...the rice comes first and gets cold after 15-20 mts wait the curry dishes were served. They even charged 3 pounds per plate for salad and 2 pounds for popodoms . We were 13 in total including kids. A Coke bottle 5 £ which is so expensive. Taste of the food was horrible. Butter chicken tasted like fish curry....I have never tasted a horrible butter chicken like in this restaurant. They definitely need to change their cheffs or teach the how to make good food. As we were giving treat to our uncle and aunty from Southampton....I was embarrassed to say that they have to taste a horrible food from this place . I didn't see anyone coming to this restaurant from the time we sat till we left . TheeT was some kids party inside the room . I will never ever recommend this restaurant to any of my friends or family. Really disappointed and heartbroken after paying the bill as it was too expensive . Not at all satisfied for price I paid. No parking too.

One of the worst restaurant I have visited recently. The food quality was very poor and highly priced . The butter chicken was rubbish , the fried rice had raw smell of cabbage. Salad and raitha charged while other restaurants give them as compliment. Really disappointed. The guy at the counter was anyways good with us and agreed to take off the butter chicken payment. Will never ever visit this restaurant.

Terrible food I do not recommend

My wife and I visited this restaurant last night. The food is Punjabi, not your usual run-of-the-mill Indian cuisine. We both had starters and a main course with rice and bread. The food was excellent, and the service prompt and attentive. We eat meat, but if you don’t ,you won’t be short of options as the menu has a good range of vegetarian dishes. If you like Indian cuisine, you will love this restaurant. If you want to try something a bit different, give it a whirl.

Good food but there are some aspects I would improve

Terrible food and service throughout. Starter of puri arrived and it was instead served in style of gol gappa. Asked for non-spicy for kids and it was rock hard and spicy. Starter plates were not picked up. Dinner plates not served. Mains were awful and we got 1 wrong dish. The right one lacked flavour. The manager was polite and apologetic which is the only reason why i paid SOME of the bill. We got a free desert as part of an apology. Regret eating that too. My son got an upset stomach soon as we left. My stomach may eventually forgive me.

I don't know what happened with other people who have given less rating for me this is best Indian restaurant in dagenham with amazing staff and great management. And about food it was outstanding :-)

Went here with my wife so we could spend time as a couple. Was I asking for a divorce? It would have been better food, better atmosphere and better service in McDonald's. I walked into the resturant, noticed immediately the floor was sticky. Greeting, didn't happen, we stood for easily 5 minutes in a dead restaurant waiting to be seated, all I got from Anita was, sit over there. Me and wife ordered starter and drink. First of all the glass had a lipstick stain on there but I didn't want to create a scene, I just used the other side. I got more oil than food, I was trying to work out what I'm paying for, sunflower oil or vegetable. We both decided this food and restaurant is rubbish and a waste of time and money. So I asked for the bill. I went to the toilet, oh my god, I wanted to bring up the food. Pub toilets are generally cleaner on a Friday night. Do not come here, you will waste your money and time!!!

It was nice to go to Sanjha chulha as we had many party’s over there ... the food and the staffs are really good .. The manager (Anita) is good and her behaviour is really cool ... would love to go again ... I have seen the review but the person who has written about the manager is completely wrong .. Bhogal .. 😄😄

Avoid this place not worth at all.. I went there with family only one family was there rest of the restaurant was empty. We asked can we have table for 4, Manager (Anita) all she said go and sit where ever you want. Is that how you welcome your customers..! We placed our order for starters which was for mixed grill and Tikki with chana. Order came on our table grill platter was full of oil no plates were served when we asked for some plates waiter came and dumped all the plates in front of me and walked away.. Chicken didn't taste right, when I went to the bar to speak to her she was on her phone with earphones in her hear.. her Response was I'm on conference call, yeah right... When she came to the table.. What's the problem. When I mentioned about the food her reply was did u ever had Tikki channa or grill.. I said food is very oily and Tikki in the channa was hidden somewhere as it was served in the bowl, lettuce looked like it was good 2/3 days old.. Disgusting attitude, I don't know how the restaurant is still open.. Avoid this place at all cost... You will be better off getting kebab roll from next door..

Food was good. Zero atmosphere and long wait for food.

Service was very slow considering we were the only ones in there. It was noticeable that food had been precooked and reheated in a microwave as the cold layer had risen on the food only after a few minutes after being served.

Good place for family and parking facilities

Orderd food, didn't give us our full order. Our dishes were missing. We have to wait another hour for our food. manu on the website showing different prices , charged doubled price than manu. Manager's name is Raj was very rude to us on the phone.

The food is really good and nice friendly staff. I found one of my dish quite hot so I asked them and they very happily replaced the dish for me. Very considerate. Nice place for kids too. Thanks

Deserves less than one star. Under payed and overworked staff, dirty cutlery and plates, RUDE MANAGER. With the extortionate price of their food you would think they would be able to pay their staff and afford dish soap to clean the plates.

ONE OF THE WORST RESTAURANTS EVER!!! The food tasted absolutely terrible and was cold. And we had to persistently ask the waiters to give us our correct order. Sanjha Chulha is a good restaurent for north Indian food, they have nice seating area, big hall for events for upto 100 people. They have good variety in both veg/non-veg food and a small bar as well. There food and service is good if you go on peak times, we experienced couple of times that there service and food both went to low quality when we went on weekdays evening, hence three stars.

I went there for a party , the ambience is ok and food is average.

Very poor service. Table was booked over a week in advance and when we turned up they had none of the tables setup. Waited around 10/15 minutes while they set them up. 2 menus given for 18 people to share. No waiter/waitress coming to check if ready to order had to keep getting up to go over and find someone. Food was very poor. Looked and tasted like no effort was put into making it. Will not be going back to this place again!

Very Good Restaurant in Goodmayes area. Malawi Kofta and chilli paneer is highly recommended.

Over priced food with no taste..

I went to this restaurant today, & could honestly put my hand on heart and say it's the worse Indian I've ever eaten! From arriving to the restaurant it was freezing cold, we was sat down then the waiters if you could call them that didn't even offer us a drink we had to call them. They then gave us mango juice that had a big clump of mould in when we called the waiter he laughed and changed it with no apology! We then get our starters with no tissues we had to ask for cutlery that should already be set out, then when we received our main the plates were freezing cold wasn't warmed up at all for the food to stay warm not that it was needed the food was all cold! Complained and they brought it back out again freezing cold! Food had no taste bland chicken had loads of fatty grissle! Tasted cheap and nasty, had no customer service skills & I can't believe it's still open no wonder we was the only ones in there and not a single soul came in for the whole time we was there! Shouldn't be open and there hygiene is disgusting, food safety needs to seriously inspect this place because I deffently wouldn't pass it!!

Very authentic and inexpensive.

I was there to attend a birthday party and really enjoyed. Great Punjabi Food. Loved It. Recommend to try once and you will fall in love with it. Really friendly staff.
