Sandros in Renfrewshire

Won’t be back! Was told had to wait 5 mins for food cooking which I was fine with, this turned into 25 minutes and I was then given three suppers up on counter and girl walked away. Never offered a bag to put them in, usually this would be part of the service but not here, had to ask someone else for a bag to carry them in, bag was just sat up on the counter for me to pack. Terrible service and staff extremely rude, the way the girl at the till was speaking to all customers was shocking.

Two steak pie suppers with curry sauce, absolutely delicious, fresh and tasty, just what we needed on a cold day

Bad time months ago and thought I’d try it again. Sandros special chicken burger but when I got home it was a beef burger. I could bounce it on the floor and it was horrible. Better with a frozen one out my freezer. Had a special fish also and it was hard and burnt. Made to order are the special fish so the chef is hopeless. Will not use again. Utter rubbish and couldn’t eat it. Biggest waste of money. Stay clear.

Love this chippy. It is the best I’ve had in the uk. Have it as a treat when we’re in the area. Hardly ever have a chippy otherwise as there’s just no comparison.

My partner and I moved to Linwood/Johnstone in January of this year and have been trying out all of the local takeaways via Just Eat during this time. Sandro's is the place we have come back to multiple times due to how good the food is, the size of the portions and the excellent customer service (from those in the shop and the delivery drivers). My partner in particular loves the special fish and the burger, and I love the sausage supper - the food is always fresh and crispy. Wouldn't hesitate to continue giving our custom here - highly recommend to all!

My personal local favourite-always freshly cooked, and great quality fish. Try the ‘special’ fish - deep fried in breadcrumbs instead of batter

Out walking the dog with my girlfriend to be brought to Sandros chippy by the hum of fish and chips, little did I know that it would be the chippy from hell!! Took my order three times, portion of fritters, single fish, tub of curry sauce and some tar tar sauce. When the order was handed to me I checked the bag to find no fritters, told the counter staff and a portion of fritters was added I thought its fine. I quickly got up the road to dig into my dinner I sparked the portion of fritters and had a wee dip into curry sauce then I turned to my single fish, I pealed back the paper licking my lips to find a single fritter! I had been done like a kipper! I phoned Mr.Sandro to be asked what do you want me to do about it, to which I replied head down to Andy’s Golden Fry and pick me up a single fish. Wouldn’t recommend take a walk further down the road to a better chippy.

Ordered on line for a home delivery. We had the black pudding supper and haggis supper. Arrived piping hot were both really nice and tasty.

A place very quick to take your Cash but that,s where the speed comes to an abrupt end.I waited and waited to no avail.I eventually gave up,got no refund and left feeling abused and bewildered and hungry.I found somewhere else further up the road who were prepared to speedily supply the din_dins.Wont ever be back,shop a bit grubby to.

i go to sandros as a treat as it’s normally the best chippy about or it certainly used to be, i come from Houston so it’s not the closest chippy, just bought a fish supper, sausage supper, large chicken nugget supper and a bag of chips, the fish was actually burnt which i have never seen in any chip shop, sausage wasn’t much better, the nuggets I believe were great n the chips were ok at best, half the food went in the bin, The last half dozen times I’ve had food have been either great or not good which in my opinion isn’t good enough to justify coming back, your local competition isn’t usually as good as sandros at it’s best, but they are consistent and the food is on the whole pretty good. I originally sent this direct to the shop as I didn’t want to bad mouth them for all to see, didn’t even have the decency to reply. I would rather have good everytime so won’t be back ☹️

What a disappointment. The fish was terrible, too much batter, overcooked and the chips were soggy. Bring back the old Sandos team!

Really good chip shop, was advised to go here. And cannot complained staff are great and the food is simply phenomenal! Will be back. Recommend the special fish supper.

Sandro's honestly used to be the best quality chippy around. For years and years my family have gone there. What has happened? Paper thin fish over cooked, way too much batter to meat and soggy chips. Hopefully after lockdown it picks up again 👍🏻

Went in older lady standing on corner thought she was waiting. Genuinely thought the lady serving was asking me what I wanted so I went to start ordering. She cut me off rightly so as I didn’t realise I had jumped the que. waited patiently for my order. Then asked if I wanted it salt and vinegar I replied lots of she never heard me and went just vinegar. The lady beside her broadcasted to the busy take away no patience that one giving me such a dirty look. The girl serving also gave me a glare. Humiliating me I front of a full takeaway. Never felt so embarrassed. In a time like this I wanted to be supporting small businesses. I’ll now be boycotting for life. Can’t deal with rude service!!

Fast efficient tasty food wouldn’t go anywhere else well worth a visit always busy fresh food everything is great

This place has always served the most amazing, fresh meals. It’s very clean and tidy and got loads on the menu to choose from. If you are not a chippy fan then the handmade pizzas are superb. As they are so busy all the time...

Just had chips this time as it was lunchtime. The were great as usual. Have had the fish supper,smoked sausage supper and fried pizza supper on other occasions. Love them all. Staff extremely friendly. Will be back.....

Never had a bad meal from sandros. Fish and chips are the best, get some mushy peas as well. Staff lovely

Husband and I stopped to get fish and chips to take to my mum's house for dinner. White flakey fish with crisp golden batter, I think it's delicious. Lots of salt and vinegar and still served in paper, yum.

A family run traditional Italian chippy that's as friendly as it is good. All your usual chip shop food is served piping hot and tastes great. From suppers to pizzas with some other specials (e.g. Chicken Pakora) in between! Competitive prices and honest friendly service...

Usually good, apart from their habitual elementary mistake of putting fish directly on top of chips when wrapping (result - very soggy batter). Last night we had 5 fish suppers to take home and ALL the fish were totally inedible because of salt. No salt...

This is by far the best chippy in the area. Well worth a 3 or 4 mile drive to pick up a fish supper which includes 2 decent size fish - not like some i.e. Pizza Mario's in Bridge of weir where you get 2...

only place ill use when out and about nip in every so often but everythings so freshly made and the portion sizes are generous and have a good variety of food to chose from defo recommended keep up the good work

the place was busy dont know why as the food we recieved was overcooked or more likly reheat might be a during the week thing

If we want a fish and chips takeaway this is where we go. We always have the Special Fish ( Dressed fish in Ayrshire) which is in breadcrumbs rather than batter. They always cook the Special Fish to order, so if there is a queue,...

Great chippy! Have had quite a few of their suppers and would definitely recommend! Very reasonably priced as well.

I have used this 'chippy carry out' regularly over the years and was aware they were recently voted best Italian chip shop in Scotland and i was not dissapointed and they also still cook potato fritters for those that enjoy them too

The best fish and chips shop in the whole Scotland, we won Italian Awards 2016. You can't find any other shop better than Sandro's, great staff and always fresh food!!

Recently voted the chippy.... Hmm... I know it's a chip shop but everything I've ever ordered from here has been extremely greasy and not so freshly made... Pickles are good though!

Why would you go anywhere else best choppy around. The fish is really tasty with lovely batter,. Staff are very friendly and you never wait too long for service.

Pop to this place often. I would agree with the award they have just won. It's also a fun place to visit, chat , order.. give some appropriate jokes / bit of cheeky humour and you will get tons back lol.

Use Sandros quite a lot and have always enjoy the fish supper which to be fair is enough for two, they do a small fish suppers and have a wide range of food on the menu.

The food is well cooked but not the best in town. The prices are the most expensive in town. I only go here if too busy elsewhere and in a hurry.

Had loads of different dinners here. Fritters really good, Pakora great. Most of the staff really friendly and welcoming.

The usual chip shop fare on offer, and usually pretty good. Service can be slow at busy times though.

After some research and several healthy, low calorie (lol) suppers, I can say that Sandros is without doubt the best.

Not been here in a while but where else in town do you get the lovely insults from Kim, always laughing and smiling with the customers, a true credit to the shop.

This was my weekly treat of chips and curry sauce on a Saturday night at work, before the diet started.....curry sauce is fantastic and staff are always happy with can do approach.

Always on point always fresh and super tasty meals. friendly as well as helpful staff. Never had to wait ages like you do with some of the takeaways down the road.

Visited all of the chip shops within Johnstone & Sandros is by far my favourite. Regular visitor for takeaways. Usually buy fish supper & curry sauce never had a bad meal so tasty.

Went here last night for fish and chips and it was lovely. My only criticism would be that the lady who took our money also touched our food which I didn't think was good practice in a food establishment!

I go here regularly, always have done. Lunch and dinner. Always good food, always served quickly. Decent place.

The food is great but the fish and chips are particularly good. Potato fritters were delicious!!! I will be back in the not too distant future!!
