Visited this pub recently and unfortunately, the experience was a bit of a letdown. Ordered the sirloin steak, which was disappointing—2/10 at best. The meat didn’t seem fresh and had an odd side smell, making it quite unappetising. On the other hand, the hunter’s chicken was alright, but nothing outstanding. The atmosphere was lively but overly loud, making it hard to relax or have a proper conversation. Wouldn’t rush back anytime soon.

Visited last minute friday when i hears they had the band filthy gorveous there the atmosphere was amazing everyone had the best time and the drinks were flowing. Shame there isnt one every weekend

Had a great time at the sandmartin last night, there band that played were fantastic, service was quick and the staff were brilliant, highly recommend!

Food and service was great, only issue was we booked for 8 and didn't realise the kitchen closed at 9 so didn't finish in time to get dessert. Next time we will book earlier as it looked like they do some great desserts.

As regular patron of The Sandmartin it saddens me that I have to post a negative review, it was only 2 days ago I posted a positive review for Megan's fantastic quiz night! Let me explain... Myself and friends have booked a table for the final of Euro 2024, this was booked in good faith with the bar staff and we were assured we were booked on the same table we had previously booked for the other games, table 17, which is under or adjacent to the main TV. Today whilst in the pub we asked the bar staff to confirm our booking, only to be told our booked table has been moved to the back of the pub, which has limited to no view of the screens on game night! When bar staff were questioned regarding this change, no straight answer could be provided, and management was no where to be seen! This is not the way you should treat regular customers that spend a fair amount of money in your establishment!

Visited with a friend for a light lunch. We both had dishes from the small plate menu. They were both very tasty and well presented. I had a glass of rosé wine and my friend had a glass of Coca Cola. The staff were very friendly and helpful.

We go to the sandmartin every week , and by far the best night in there is karaoke night by HPE and the lovely James. The atmosphere is great and the service is great and everybody has a great time singing, dancing and socialising. Would love to see some more karaoke nights in there to bring the community together Well done Lee and all the team! 👍

Me, my family and friends, have become regulars in the sandmartin, especially on a saturday/sunday afternoon, we really enjoy coming to the sandmartin. The bar staff are really lovely, always welcoming and very accommodating. Ellie behind the bar is always very friendly and always smiling. Great pub to come to. I would definitely recommend ⭐️

The Sandmartin is in the corner where I live and I have give one star because me and my partner recently went and we’ve thought was a good idea to give it a go and so we went inside and we were looking to have a sit outside in the garden because it was a lovely day, not even been served we were about to seat the owner asked us the “ID” completely understandable but personally I found it pretty much rude on my opinion not knowing if we were having alcool or not, also we are not so young and pretty loudly I said we were going to another pub and never come back again. There’s plenty of pub in Chafford and Grays that are better than this.

Loved the atmosphere and the staff were so helpful and friendly, they checked with me about my allergy and made sure I was comfortable.

Held a 40th work Anniversary in The Sandmartin. It was perfect the staff was so helpful and nice. The food was lovely and even had a dance and sing song. Great atmosphere. Even had our own private space. Thank u sandmartin we will be back.

Massive thank you to Lee and the team. At short notice they accommodated a party of 20 on Easter Saturday for a Birthday Meal. Food was great, service went above and beyond and atmosphere was spot on for a large family meal. Would 100% recommend and they will see me back soon!

Well what can I say the food was amazing burger was fantastic and cooked to perfection. Micheal was brilliant and couldn’t do enough for us. Absolutely love the team here, nothing is ever to much trouble. Highly recommend

An absolutely amazing place, The saff were very friendly and welcoming, Lee ,Elle , Connor, Megan were great,they enquired about dietary needs for my family, ( Once I mentioned my oldest has OCD an an issues with his food touching other colours, they informed the kitchen staff ( Luke & Calaum ) whom made sure his plate was big enough, so as the food was not touching ( Guys 10/10 , so Very appreciated!! ) the food was cooked great and can't fault it . Going back to the staff , so SUPER friendly and welcoming, it's a dog friendly pub and the patrons love the fact that the children want to interact with the dogs ( definitely a top show for a Green king pub) all areas were extremely clean. The toilets were if a high standard and well kept and stocked . This is definitely a pub for family and friends Would definitely rate this as a 10plus !! Well-done to all the staff at the Sandmartin.

I had such a lovely evening at The Sandmartin. I went as it was recommended to me. The atmosphere was fantastic and the pub was buzzing. The staff were so helpful and very efficient. I really enjoyed my dinner and my really fussy daughter did too. I will certainly be back.

Always come in the sandmartin and I always get great service, the staff are great especially Conner, would definitely recommend to everyone for a midweek drink or for on a night out on the weekend!
