Sam's Restaurant in West Dunbartonshire

Restaurant was absolutely freezing, some of the party sat with their jackets on for the whole meal. Veggie pasta portion was very small and definitely NOT worth £14. Chicken dishes at £17 needed potatoes. Food was lovely, although very overpriced.

My first time in Sams tonight. Took my daughter for her birthday with some friends and my partner. The staff were fantastic and so accomodating. The food was top notch. The one thing I look for when eating out is how clean the place is. I was blown away with how clean this restraunt was. Even the toilet was immaculate. Will deffinetly be back soon.

Arrived a little early & shown to our table were offered crusty bread croutons & olives with a olive oil dip our drinks order (soft drinks) was taken as they don't do alcohol but they offer a BYOB for a small charge our food order was then taken I ordered the pate served with toasted sourdough bread very good I then had fettuccine bolognese my sister had chicken in a creamy sauce with veg & potatoes both superb for dessert I had sticky toffee pudding my sister had the tiramisu also superb the restaurant was very busy but the service was good the only downside was that we were near the door which was a bit chilly on a cold evening but would highly recommend coming.

Excellent little Italian restaurant. Food was great. Staff very welcoming and attentive. Reasonably priced with set meal option. It has no alcohol licence but you just bring your own bottle which means you can enjoy you favourite vino without breaking the bank! Will defo go again. Enjoy🍲🍨🍷

This is the third time we have eaten here and can honestly say the food is amazing with the right balance of flavours. While we were there nearly all the tables were taken with a steady flow of diners,that in itself is speaks volumes. I would highly recommend this restaurant especially with the brilliant staff and decor.

Great wee place! Been meaning to go for a while and went on Sunday. We all had delicious starters, mains and desserts. Was a bonus that we had a deal for 50% off .. would highly recommend. Lovely, clean and friendly staff!

Booked last minute for 21st birthday and didn’t disappoint. Food was very good and well presented and staff were very friendly helping to organise birthday cake surprise.

Impressed with first visit, Friendly attentive staff, food arrived hot & on time. Only comment would be was that the chicken was a bit dry. The decor in restaurant & facilities was surprisingly nice as the area of shops is now a bit run down & scruffy. I would recommend & return 👍

What can I say, in general, it is average quality food, The pizza was to be fair probably the best pizza I have had in a "sit-in restaurant" in a long time, but the starters were at best ok (had the feel of frozen straight from the bag), and the main course pasta dishes were what you could only call starter portions and certainly not worth the £14/£15 each we paid for them, and the chicken in them was as tough and chewy as old boots, although the sauce was not to bad. The other issue is the expensive corking charge of £4.95 per item which is pretty steep, Overall, I think that they need to remember that they are a small local restaurant based in a row of shops overlooking a car park, and not Celino’s, La Fiorentina, Italian Kitchen etc and they will never be unless they up their game, serve better portions and stop using frozen food

I have been to this restaurant a few times now , but the last twice it hasn’t been up to their normally standard, the food last time and tonight wasn’t not great at all. I had recommended this place to friends and we agree all disappointed. There portions are smaller than they where before, there chicken was dry the chips where all very small and the fish wasn’t very warm. I know feel that I wouldn’t recommend this place because I have been disappointed twice.
