Excellent food and good value. 3 course menu runs up until 9pm on weekdays and only £9.95.

Lovely place to eat, the music was terrible hence dropping one star. I don't want to hear rap when having lunch with my family. Otherwise couldn't fault the place. Food was gorgeous and we didn't have to wait long for it to arrive. Staff were very attentive and friendly.

My son chose Sambucas for his 12th birthday meal. It didn't disappoint. Service was fantastic the staff went above and beyond for my son. They chatted with my daughter which is always lovely that my children were recognised. Food was beautiful, very tasty. Full tummy's and full hearts. "I thought that the waiters were hilarious and they gave my a birthday cake when my mam didn't ask for one which was very kind." Charlie age 12

Staff are always lovely, never had a problem with the wait times and food is always fresh and as described! Drinks are a bit pricey in my opinion but it’s understandable. Again lovely lovely staff

Great food, great staff, atmosphere I've put 4/5 just because I'm not keen on screaming kids/babies you sometimes get there.

From going through the door we were made so welcome fab bunch of staff. Nothing was a problem to them food was excellent and served well. Will be going back soon. Well done ginger David the chef x

All brilliant. Didn't have to wait long for a table even though it was busy. Attentive staff. Starters were brought straight away and the lasagne was delicious. Will definitely be back.

Staff were so friendly and made you feel welcome,,I only popped in for a couple of drinks on my own and was going to KFC after,,,but the staff were so nice and then finding out the do takeaway as I was staying at the hotel opposite,,,,what can I say prawn cocktail,,steak cooked to perfection ,,,I would recommend this place to everyone,,,,thanks to the staff for making me feel so welcome and thanks to the chefs for the amazing meal

Hi    We booked our table for 27 guests for last night When we arrived we were seated and got our drinks After about 30 minutes we asked to order our food The waiter , who I assumed by the way he was with the staff, must have been a manager of some kind 4 of our guest had not yet turned up but I said we still wanted to order and they would order when they arrived He snapped at me and said the food comes out “Rapid”  they wouldn’t be reheating the food for the missing guests I explained the food would not be ordered for the missing guests until they arrived I then asked if we could order separately and he said no all items would be itemised so they could take payment individually when payment was required He started taking our order and when my wife ordered she told him the flavoured pasta she wanted and his reply was what pasta She again said the flavour and in a very snotty way again he snapped what pasta This immediately upset my wife who had told him twice so I told him again Again he snapped what pasta She then realised he meant what type of pasta She asked for one type and he snapped we do not have that type So she asks what time they have So the order was taken We then proceeded to wait an hour for our food which was not "Rapid" by any means of the wordThe food came out and most of it was lovely but the pasta my wife and son had halved was tasteless Very bland and watery Then came to the payment , we went up In our groups , myself first and paid for my four meals I had purchased I then left as I have just had knee surgery to both knees so needed my pain relief On the way home one of my daughters called me nearly in tears She had been the last person to pay and she ordered 1 kids meal and 1 pasta and 1 potato skins he tried to tell her there was still £102 to pay Shocked she said that can’t be right to which he replied it definitely was She then made him go through the bill again which he then said oh my mistake it’s £32 She knew her meal was not £32 but so embarrassed and feeling harassed by him she paid Upon looking at the bill for the whole party there were two puddings that no one in our party had ordered had been added to the bill 1 Tiramasu and 1 Brownie Sunday So she had paid for someone else’s pudding who must’ve been in Sambuca last night but not with our party This is ridiculous and his attitude was horrendous We will never go back to Sambuca at the  metro centre and will advise anyone else not to go This was not the experience we were expecting especially since this was a meal for all of my kids and grandkids to celebrate there brothers birthday who sadly passed away on August the 3rd Could someone please look into this and reimburse my daughter for the overpayment she had made I have attached the whole bill and circled the two puddings that were 100% not from our party As you can see we spent quite a bit of money and that was not including the money spent on drinks !

Went with my granddaughter for lunch and it was lovely, staff were very friendly and food was great. We both left full and happy.

Food was good but wasn't very happy with staff. Was quite busy and staff seemed a bit rushed and frustrated. Not very professional. Been here before and was a much more relaxed atmosphere.

The food is excellent, the service was fantastic and they have reasonable prices. The menu has something for everyone.

Never dissapoints. HOWEVER last time we came potato skin portion was so small! Never normally that small. Wish they gave us more. Amazing food and served quickly. My partner a said the lasagne comes with way too much cheese its all he could taste. But it still tasted good to me. The girl staffs always seem really sad. Hope they are okay

States on the website you can book a table. But this isn't true, even if you walk in to book a table they don't let you reserve one, instead they just tell you to come back "walk in" where you'll then be standing waiting for a table for 15 minutes plus. Even if they took a £5 deposit for no shows at least you wouldn't have to stand in a queue with an 82 year old for however long it might take for them to find a seat! This is the only reason for 1 star on a weekend as through the week it's quiet so we have never felt the pressure to book. The food is fresh and tasty, shame about the booking situation!

The food was delicious, hot and large portions. 5 stars is not enough, if it were possible to give more, it would definitely be 10. The price-quality ratio is absolutely appropriate. Nice service. I recommend it, we will definitely visit again.

Everything we have been, which is quite often the food and service has been excellent. If I had to complain, it would be the roast potatoes on the Sunday carvery let it down everything we have had them they have been raw apart from that 1st class restaurant.

Loved the menu, the selection is vast and Covers different types of dishes. The seafood jambalaya was hot, tasty and had plenty of meat and fish. The restaurant was relatively full on a Wednesday but was able to be seated without a reservation. The order for drinks was quick however the wait to order food was slightly delayed and this why I deducted one star. The food arrived quickly and along with the fair prices made for a very enjoyable meal and experience. I will definitely return when I visit Gateshead again.

I went here a while ago for the first time and i loved it. However, i went today as it is my birthday tomorrow and my experience was absolutely horrible. We came in at about 5:40. Many people came in after us, ordered, ate their food and left. By this time we didn’t even have our starters. It took us 40 - 45 minutes to get our starters and an entire hour to get our food. Literally all we ordered was 2 carbonara, a pizza with just sauce and some pasta that could’ve took a tiny bit longer. My mum ordered a coke and got something along the lines of a pepsi max, and there was loads of dirty marks on her glass. She ended up having to get a new one. Not to mention the staff were incredibly rude, making excuses and not even saying sorry for what happened. The manager (I think) even rolled his eyes at my parents. I would not recommend going here.

Very busy, food is functional and cheap, service is poor

Always have a nice meal here, staff are so lovely. Can be a bit loud when it is busy but atmosphere generally great. Images - starters were deep fried mozzarella with Napoli sauce. Mains - Chicken Kiev pizza and bolognese pasta.

My 8 & 6yr old Grandsons introduced me to this great restaurant. Wonderful food, and if visited Mon -Friday early evening, even better pricing. 3 course meal, under £16! Amazing place. Helpful staff.

Always great food however fillet steaks have reduced in size quite a bit.

Staff attitude was appalling. Waited a good half hour for food order to be taken and for drinks to arrive. 2 and a half hours in total very slow service. Won't be back

Absolutely shocking service got sat down no one came to table for 20 mins we are a little family. Then a group of young girls come in and the waiter was quick enough to take there order before ours while out little boy was getting more and more hungry. Was totally ignored from start to finish. We left and the guy who sat us down just looked and went are you leaving no sorry what happened

Family meal yesterday, 8x of us altogether. The food was excellent and good value for money, pizzas in particular were gorgeous. Unfortunately restaurant let down by the staff who were indifferent, did not smile, one particular waitress when I thanked her on two occasions did not give any eye contact or even acknowledge me. Another male waiter had a similar attitude. We were not offered any parmesan or condiments. We would normally leave a generous tip but not on this occasion. Only one male staff member who greeted us at the door had any manners and did at least smile! We will not be returning any time soon, very dissapointing. Come on staff - smile and be happy!

Lovely food, great value and nice atmosphere. Staff were a little rude at times which took us slightly by surprise and was not what was expected. We had to ask for additional drinks and the gentleman was quite abrupt with us. It wouldn't put us off a return as the value I'd great, but it did mean I could not recommend 5 stars. Took the shine off the great food. Pity.

Cheap Sunday lunch but very limited on choice

I ordered the chicken kiev very dissapointed i was, never have i seen a piece of chicken rolled up in bread crumbs, swimming in a plate of creamy garlic sauce, no garlic in the kiev at all i will not order that again

This place is a little gem love the food the service is outstanding atmosphere is great music great love this place.

Only had Sunday dinner here but it was excellent. 11 of us this Sunday for my husbands 70th birthday, everyone was happy with their food as all the plates were empty! Definitely worth a try.

Visited with the family a couple of years ago. Was very nice!

The restaurant was clean and a good atmosphere for itallian. Was seated quickly, and the service was fast. Unfortunately the food was really lacking. I tried the fried mozzarella, creamy garlic mushrooms, and the carbonara. The fried mozzarella was not bad. The sauce had a decent taste but a lot of sauce. The creamy garlic mushrooms were just creamy very little if any taste from the sauce, definitely not garlicy, which was disappointing as garlic mushrooms are typically one of my favorite meals anywhere else. Same for the carbonara, usually one of my favorites, but this one was quite bland. Nothing was wrong with the way the food was prepared. Everything was cooked properly, but just really lacked on flavor. Overall, the restaurant felt nice, and the service was good, but I wouldn't be interested in eating any of these dishes again. Restrooms were well kept, which is always a plus.

Called in by chance luckily got a table food was fantastic we had 50/50 halft pizza half carbonara

Been here a few times now. They do a lovely Sunday Dinner! The staff are good they seemed a bit stressed/overwhelmed however I think I would be as it is always very busy in here due to good food at very fair prices!

Always an incredibly warm welcome toSambuca’s, the staff are fantastic with everyone including kids. The food is such a good price you’d be forgiven for thinking you aren’t going to get quality but WOW - each meal including starters mains and puddings have been spot on. The pasta is fantastic and the pizzas to die for! Try the squid or the muscles as they are favourites of mine too. We often got for the 3 course meal for £8.95 but now and again we start and go nuts for the specials of the day and the Sunday carvery is VERY popular so you may find it easier to book a table ahead of time. The atmosphere is family orientated and the staff are happy to drag you up to the front and get the whole restaurant to sing happy birthday to you should that be your special occasion! The staff could not be better, they are attentive, polite, friendly and knowledgeable about their food and drinks. Go and try it out - it will become your new favourite eatery! You will not be disappointed!

Very fair prices, have had a take out from here a couple of times as well when passing by. Atmosphere in the restaurant is usually fine, staff friendly and attentive. Best pizzas or pastas in the area? No. Fairest prices? Up there

Cant believe Sambucas could pull of such a great smash burger. The cajun sauce that came with is was incredible.

I had a seafood spaghetti dish which was very good the young waitress was pleasant and knew about the dish and the the resteraunt was busy

I have so many bad things to say but I'll keep it brief. The service was slow, it took us an hour for food to arrive, the portions were tiny and tastless. Definitely eat elsewhere for cheaper prices and larger portions.

Went for the special can't complain for the price staff nice and even brought a box for our left overs without asking only gripe is the price of drinks 5 pounds for 2 lime and sodas

Enjoyed a delicious late afternoon meal today as always excellant food and quick service.Unfortunately we did not leave a tip today as the waitress was very miserable,never asked if our food was OK and come to think of it she didn't even have the manners to say a please or thankyou.

Quick. Consistently good food and service and very reasonably priced. The music and general buzz of the place make it a great place to pop for dinner. The decor could do with an update but that doesn't really bother us

Came for a birthday meal, can't fault the service but wasn't too enamored with my pizza it was very greasy underneath and my meatballs tasted of nothing, couldn't taste any seasoning,herbs? There was a kids birthday party which was crazy noisy, just an observation and I'm sure my kids have been to similar when they where younger. Pizzas about £9-12. Mon - Thu they do a 3 course deals. Fri-sat it's £18-20.

Really nice place. Staff are friendly, food is nice. Plenty of seating. Everything is nice and clean. Parking is a little sparse but that’s because of KFC sharing the spaces. Other than that really good

Food tasted great - until I found the hair in my pasta. Staff were polite, apologised and offfered to give me another plate (which I declined having lost my appetite due to obvious reasons), but the restaurant did not offer a discount on the bill for our table.

By far the worst and most expensive sambuca around. I usually pay around £12.50 but these charged me £17.50 then when I told him the menu online says it should be £12.50 he told me to ignore the online menu because it's wrong, what good is that? I then asked if he thought it might be worth updating the menu online to which he said that I should of asked the price over the phone. It's Saturday night, I didn't want to waste his time asking prices when I ordered because the prices were infront of me on the menu. The crispy potato skins were terrible and the pasta was far too runny with skimpy, near non existant cuts of vegetable. I barely noticed the mushroom, it's only after I got my magnifying glass on it I noticed them. Last sambuca for me. I will upload a picture of the current menu and prices for anyone that wants to be robbed.

First time going and won't be last

we have been here many times for pizza/pasta which has always been very good. This time however we decided to risk the Sunday Carvery. personally i am not a cavery fan however i would be very happy to come back. there were 5 meats (Gamon, Pork, Beef & Turkey and sausage) and they would slice what ever you wanted allowing you to mix up your meat if you wanted plus some crackling. i had the pork and beef, whilst my wife had turkey and beef. all of it was cooked very nicely and was mosit and full of flavour. the veg was cabage, roast potatoes, peas, mash, swede and carrots. i did not have swede as it looked like it was swimming in butter. the other veg was not and was of a high quality and cooked well. the gravy was good as were the yorkies. if there was a crititism it would be that the yorkies and roasties coukd have been crisper but this cant obvioulsy be achived under the conditions. for £10.95pp it could not be faulted and was very pleasent and i would easily recomend.

Starters were overcooked, the potato skins were like cardboard cut outs. The main was horrible had the pasta with sea food, never been off the toilet since. The staff were grumpy as if they don't want us there. Worst of all no mints for the Bill! Gave two stars one for effort one for arrival.

Always great service, food and value

This was my first time visiting this sumbuca and I was quite happy with the service and the food I received, I got the chicken parmo, it wasn't mind blowing but was still rather tasty however. The establishment itself is fairly modern inside, clean and also has plenty parking. I would definitely return.
