Salt n Vinegar in Ards

Excellent battered cod fish, light and crispy. The battered mushrooms were great. Nice to have choices of various dips. The best fish so far in Ards!

Everything is cooked while you wait but if you phone you get a estimate of when to call for your food.

First time in today, very impressed, will be back

This is a lovely place but when the menu says a chicken Brest meal and a drink on the board it should come with a drink. But was told no drink was ordered but on the board it shows a chicken breast and chips and a drink the same as the cod bits and chips and drink think been done out of the drinks but if it don’t come with them then it should not show that it does

The cod etc are a great size, they do a lunch time special fish pieces or chicken strips, you also get a free dip or a coke etc.staff very friendly, in my view the best chipper in newtownards.

This is a very good chippy, the best in Ards and Bangor in our opinion. Chips are great and never undercooked like other places. Pasties are very tasty. Quite a few customers appear to be too lazy, too stupid or both, to put a bit of cloth over their bakes for a few minutes while in the shop, but that says more about some of the local mouth-breathers than it does the staff.

Nice grub. Usual fare for this type of establishment. There's an off street carpark right beside it which makes it handy. Friendly staff and honest food! Say no more.

We met the owner who kindly gave his recommendations for the best places to eat in Strangford and Portaferry. LOBSTER POT HERE WE COME. THE CHIPS & GRAVY WITH THE HUGE HOT DOG AND BATTERED SAUSAGE, REALLY HIT THE SPOT. WE'LL BE BACK. ABSOLUTELY SPOTLESS AND CERTAINLY IN MY TOP CHIPPIES IN NORTHERN IRELAND AND MAINLAND UK. THESE DEAR FOLKS MADE MY VALENTINE/BIRTHDAY VACATION SO MUCH BETTER. THANK YOU.

Had to give this wee gem of a chippy a review.Just had a haddock supper delivered by a lovely gal and have to say 10 out of 10 folks.Haddock fillets, yes there were 2 ,were huge with a cracking batter and lovely flavour.Chips were crispy with no excess grease.looking forward to trying the rest of the menu, size of me! Couldnt recommend this chippy enough.

Great wee chippy! Used to go when I went to the school around the corner but have went again recently and was not disappointed to find out the quality or portion sizes haven't changed. Not sure if the one in Conlig is owned by the same people but it's good too

Properly cooked chips (a deal breaker for mein lesser chippies) and good value meal deals. Reasonably quick service even at busier times and I've never had a bad meal or had to send anything back. My favourite chippy

We've been going for years, mostly just chips but occasionally treat ourselves to fish, burgers, pasties..we have tried the rest and I can say without doubt, 100% salt and vinegar are the tastiest and freshest 100% all of the time..and the staff and owner always friendly, funny and chatty no matter how busy..off the main street I have told many an out of towner to make the short diversion..
