I would give it 4.5 stars however we are very disappointed and despondent about their buffet charges for elderly people who do not eat much. The manager told us only one adult (parent) was allowed kids' buffet charge. This is plain discrimination and a rip off. It is common knowledge that elderly people have small appetites. Why is it not ok to have kids' buffet charges but not for adults when they actually eat as little as kids? Why can't Sakonis do this for our elders, for whom going out is a treat, and seeing all the buffet and enjoying what they can makes them so happy - to have all that variety at their disposal even if they don't eat all of it. On one Saturday, food was all 'flat' and not just the same quality as previously - could it be as they are extra busy on Saturdays? Yet, Saturday prices are premium.

Ate there on Mothers Day. It was packed. As we were a large party we chose the buffet option. The service was crap. We waited till we had eaten and then they came to take the drinks order. The food was not of the standard you would expect. It was well below par. Infact three members of our party had sickness and diarrhoea the next day. One member found two bhajia which were held together by a strand of hair. This meant that the hair had to come during the cooking process from one of the cooks. They were just too busy for the number of staff working there. It was chaotic. Needless to say we will not be going there again.

The staff seemed unhappy, and it would be better if they found a job they enjoyed. The food was quite greasy, and the samosas were still cold inside the pastry. I paid with brand new cash notes, but unfortunately, the five-pound note I received in my change had a torn piece and was unusable. The cashier handed the change to me as if she was not aware of, It was not a pleasant experience, and I won't be returning to that place again. The service made it seem like they were doing me a favour, creating a sad atmosphere.

Never been before and regretted not reading the reviews on the place before my visit. I didn’t find the place dirty like some other reviewers have, there was plenty of choice the problem was the food was so spicy and hot I couldn’t distinguish one dish from another as my tongue was on fire. A few days later I had a ring of fire in my pants if you see what I mean. I won’t visit again which is a shame as I thought it was good value for the food available. I don’t know how they make any money as the place was nearly empty on a Saturday lunch time. I’m curious to know if it’s owned by the same ppl as the Global Buffet next door to it.

We went there for the evening buffet, we were told it starts at 5 we got there at 5.15 expecting everything to be hot and fresh and what we got instead was cold horrible leftover food from the lunch buffet!!! Nothing on the menu was edible we had to ask for fresh food for them to replace it otherwise they were just standing around watching everyone eat it!!! Horrible food and staff are not very helpful either they seem to go at their own pace no sense of urgency at all!!! The drinks took forever to come out as well!! Def not worth the money they charge for the buffet. When you go as a family are paying over £200 you would expect better food and service. It hasn’t changed and I don’t see if changing anymore either waste of time and money. Def won’t be visiting there again!! Everyone left there dissatisfied

Avoid at all costs. My Mum likes her chillie paneer so thats why we picked sakonis for her birthday dinner. Food was cold and tasteless and the standards have dropped (not that they were ever high). Mains were all cold and repeated asking for fresh food was ignored and staff actually said everyone is eating this just eat!! The rudeness was next level. They really don’t care. Dessert was gross and we opted for oranges in the end as we couldn’t find anything edible. Apparently desserts are only for weekends and Diwali they do jalebis!! Really?!? To top it off we’ve been sick since last night with vomiting and food poisoning (I did think the yogurt tasted off a little). Really regret this dinner choice. Did call to give feedback and say we have been sick and was told “I don’t care, don’t come back”. I think the only way to show customer choice is using what we can do DO NOT GO TO SAKONIS - there’s a new world buffet next door that’s doing an offer! It looked cleaner, man in the front desk was nice And friendly - they just didn’t have chilly paneer lol

I returned to Sakonis after perhaps 4-5 years. I had stopped going due to the high buffet price and low service standards. I returned with friends and whilst the new decor is pretty horrific and laughable, the food and service was good and the value for the buffet at £10.99 was fantastic. There was a great selection of food which was regularly checked and always stocked. The service was also improved. Feedback: I do not understand how and why Sakonis are using plastic cups for giving water. This is beyond unethical and irresponsible for a business in this day and age to be so unenvironmentally friendly. Please stop using plastic cups and consider the impact and the planet!

Hello we came to sakonis in Harrow try to go there every time, because we can get parking easily, this time we debating when we saw a new restaurant non veg one but opted to go to sakonis instead. Having been shown our seats we just thought how the standards of this place gone so low. Firstly there was like wet tissues stuck to floor near the tables . Next the staff did not know what they were doing all over places, we placed with our order but they kept bringing one plate at time, once we received our order then we had to get to ask for plates, water, then they got my juice and forget my wife’s one. So called again. Then they did not bring the noodles, so off they go getting them. When we received the noodles it looked dark at top but normal inside the bottom. We had to ask again for things like water and the water did not taste right. The tables next to us had so much food thrown under it shameful that they just wipe tables, they should cleaning the debris of food also which I took photos of. I think they need to cover their foods like salads as we saw lot of people pour food in their plates abut stand there eating how annoying it is now the likes of Covid they need to make sure . People are ignorant once they take food cover it but they don’t.

I have always preferred Harrow Sakonis to Wembley due to better cleanliness, better variety in buffet, and hence better value for money but with reduced price it’s great (I must admit buffet was ridiculously priced before- but it’s reasonably priced now at 11.99, little lesser on certain days). Interior has improved considerably from the previous college canteen look which means you can celebrate occasions. However Sakonis must ensure that standards are maintained despite price reductions- if dishes are missing for buffet OR ingredients are missing from dishes that’s called cheating which customers catch very easily and do resent. We ordered faluda today which did not have vermicelli which is ‘the’ basic key ingredient of Faluda. It made me consider whether that was due to the half price offer 🙁 Faluda, or any dish must have its standard ingredients otherwise it is something else. Cheating customers is counter-productive. People will stop coming and go somewhere else! But I like to think this was just a slip in this instance!! Overall- Harrow Sakonis is highly recommended as a vegetarian, good VFM, clean and friendly place where food tastes great!

Sakonis Harrow use to be a thriving, family favourite, Unfortunately the drab ‘new’ decor really put us off on the visit today. So dark, remove the bathroom tiles in the dining area, attempt of like a flower wall going around the restaurant but just looks tacky, oversized dark red booths, signs everywhere, telling people off. That flooring needs lifting and changing. The buffet was mediocre, lacking some spice but understandably mild for everyone’s taste. This place lacks authenticity and charm, Maybe they could think about a centred kitchen, chefs on the go? Fresh Indian street food being served.. pani puri, dosas, noodles to taste? people could watch it being prepared with their chosen veg? maybe have a dessert designated area? This restaurant with a epic clean up and the right design layout has real potential. Unfortunately it underwhelms and disappoints or is it time to shut the doors for good?

I visited this place after a year and have to say that the quality of food is really bad. Although they were able to cater for dietary requirements the food was so bland and had no taste apart from salt. Ordered papdi chaat and crispy bhajia through Uber eats, which came on time (so no issue with Uber). The food was worst than terrible and I say this as I’ve eaten these dishes a number of times. The bhajia were way too thick and has no flavour whatsoever and were totally soggy. The papdi chaat came with no dips affectively making it totally flavourless. I tried calling them to resolve this but got made to feel I was doing something wrong by the lady who answered. She claimed there food is always like this, which clearly indicates she’s a liar, or never eaten there herself. Not even so much as a ‘sorry it was like that’, rather she was rude about me having a bad experience. I will never order from or eat there again and would strongly recommend you do the same. Visited today with my family. Ordered a bunch of dishes that we normally do - chilli paneer, pau bhaji, hakka noodles, tofu salt and pepper.Food was average at best - the pau bhaji was not up to what I'm used to and the tofu was super greasy.Things went properly downhill when my son found a hair in his noodles. We thought it was a one-off but shortly after my wife found a long hair in her noodles also. We called over the waitress who mumbled a half-hearted apology and then went to talk to the kitchen staff for some reason. She came back and gave us the news that all Chinese style dishes are cooked by the male chefs - implying that the hair in the noodles was not from them. Ridiculous! Upon pressing further, she offered to have another replacement dish cooked up for us - with a lost appetite we were done and well off the idea of eating further here so refused. She went on then to say she can't discount the noodle dish from the bill as we'd eaten most of it! Eventually after further remonstrating with her about the poor attitude about this incident she went to speak to her manager and then they offered to reduce the bill to the cost of the noodles. I asked for the manager regardless but was advised he is not onsite and is only present at closing times which only added to the couldn't care less attitude I was sensing. At point of payment, a mysterious 'chow mein' dish appeared on the bill - not something we ordered ... eventually got that removed also. Such incompetence.Really really poor customer service ....food quality certainly not what it used to be and very questionable hygiene standards. We will never return.

I would definitely recommend coming here on an empty stomach because there is so much variety to choose from that you will want to try everything. The dessert options are different most days but very good also. There is also half price on almost all drinks.

Last minute decision to go out for a meal mid week. It’s our local Indian vegetarian restaurant, where you have a choice of menu selections or unlimited buffet.

I have a notoriously psychotic stomach which reacts very badly to anything dairy. I had seen online that Sakonis has expanded their menu to include salt and pepper tofu. Intrigued by this discovery, I ordered a portion alongside the restaurant's 'signature' dish, Hakka noodles. The noodles were nice and not too oily but I'm afraid to say that the tofu just didn't hit the mark for me, being far too oily and not crispy enough. On the plus sidewalk, the food arrived piping hot and I did enjoy the freshly fried mogo chips. What disappointed us was the fact that the waiter started cleaning and disinfecting the empty tables around us while were still eating. The smell of disinfectant spray is very off-putting whilst eating your meal. He was also carting round the huge bin bag trolley which was simply not an aesthetically pleasing sight. The dining experience was average at best. Glad to see this restaurant is finally acknowledging allergies and expanding the vegan options - but there is still no vegan dessert option, why?

I am guilty of coming to this restaurant after having a fabulous meal at a nearby Indian restaurant. But i saw a small paan shop nearby and that's what caught my attention. I went in thinking I will have paan (beetle leaves filled with sweet stuff) but when I looked at the menu, I was tempted to eat falooda, I would say their falooda is good.

well first of all Sakoni which in East Africa means a market. as we entered this large resturant it never at any point made you feel that you were in a market atomospher. the main dinning area was laid out with buffet station and furniture. we were given the back room. the walls were all tiled in different shades loud lighting. the place was buzzing with dewali gatherings, the service was okay. the food if you are a vegiterian you could not go wrong. they had 3or4 different types of cuisines. would i go back NO if they made you feel you were at a market i would consder

I really enjoy Sakoni's food and come here for a meal every now and again, mostly for the buffet. Excellent menu, excellent range of food and most importantly, the food in the buffet is fresh and hot, so long as you go at peak times! Mine only gripe is that it is a bit like a 'greasy spoon' inside. A refurbishment is needed to make this a better experience!

I had been to this place many years ago and their food was good quality and hence I took the opportunity to visit once again. The overall spread is big if you choose to have the buffet,They had sweet corn soup (almost like dish water) and the rest dal(Taste less) and the vegetables were also not that great. They made DOSA which were fresh but again the taste was bad.The salad was also not fresh looking. The Softy(Ice cream machine was also dripping ) Run by Indian Gujarati family. They have really brought the standard down. They have 1/2 price buffet and drinks on Tuesdays. I will not dare to visit this place unless some locals tell me that they have improved.

This legendary place still the same has the same decor as it did last century. However do that confuse that with the quality of the food and service.

I have been there several times and enjoyed the food. Unlike the one in Harch End (not recommended) it has a buffet and a special lunch deal, Also unlike Hatch End, the staff are friendly and helpful. But the one reservation is that the food in the buffet is not hot, It should be, as it is in a stainless steel servery, presumably with heating under each container - but the food is not covered, which rather defeats the object. If you don't mind lukewarm food, then go for it - the buffet has a wide variety of tasty food.

We were a party of four, and did not book a tableIt was a birthday occasion and we thought we'd try Sakonis in Harrow.Waited for a table for over 15 minutes the lady insisted we take a table by the door, it was a cold and rainy evening and a cold draft every time the front door opened so we said we'd wait. There were so very many tables empty, but no she wouldn't allow us to sit, we said we don't mind moving inbetween if they were reserved and the customers who reserved it came in, but no - we'd heard so many good things about the resturant but had to go away dissapointed, ended up in another favourite Daal Roti in Honeypot Lane - A Superb Resturant! So overall all four of us not too happy with Sakoni's in Harrow at all!

We held a birthday party there a couple of weeks ago was very disappointed with the staff and service! Firstly we would expect to have a staff member or 2 on hand looking after the party when you have approx 70 guests at the party however we were constantly looking for the staff who were standing around in group talking!! We had to go over a couple of time to ask them to bring drinks out and still didn't come out the staff didn't have a clue what they were doing!! No complaints about the food but everything else didn't make the party go smoothly. When you are paying close to £900 for a party you would expect them to be more attentive and helpful. Lastly the toilets were absolutely filthy and considering they had just opened when we got there at midday it was disgusting state for them to be in with no toilet rolls on anything. When we pointed that out to the staff they just shrugged their shoulders and then kept giving us dirty looks and talking to each about it instead of being apologetic over it! They didn't really care about the customers!! Service and staff are a disgrace!

Two of us decided to pop in here for dinner on 10/08/17 for a meal. Not been to Sokoni in years so thought we would give it a try. On entering, there is a sign asking you to wait to be seated. We saw two members of staff sitting on a table but neither of them got up. We waited a few minutes and yet they both just sat there nattering away. Its only when I raised my voice did someone come over and take us to our table. We did not want to go for the buffet, so we asked for a couple of menu's. Waited a while and ordered a Falooda and soft drink. These came quickly, the Falooda wasn't too good, it wasn't rich and not sweet at all. Soft drink was great, it would be, it came from a can! We also ordered Bhel Puri. This too arrived quickly and was not too bad although everything lacked salt, but at least I could add salt. The waitress also dropped of some condiments, all tasted nice except I would like to have seen these cleaned up without the drips down the side from previous use.Once finished we ordered Dhal Bahjia, the waitress advised there would be a 15 minute wait was was fine, we at least knew that they would be fresh. Whilst waiting for these, I noticed a man with a portable microphone walk into the premises, he was drunk. He started to argue with the staff and swearing through the microphone, and I mean swearing in Gujarati, it wasn't at all pleasant. He then decided to walk over to the buffet stations where we were seated, the staff tried to stop him but he would not listen, swearing and threatening staff. He walked towards the buffet station and in turn came towards me and my wife. He stood at the buffet station, arguing with staff saying he was going to pee all over the place and went to unbuckle his pants! I this stage i got up to intervene. I asked him to behave without raising my voice but he became more aggressive but nor towards me but the staff. Whilst the mans back was turned the waiter grabbed him and tried to get him out of the door, falling in the process. I followed him, tried to get him up, speaking to the guy in a clam manner. He finally did (in the meanwhile the police are called). I talked to him rationally, telling him he was upsetting kids and families. He became apologetic and i managed to walk him to the door and out of the building. When I sat back at our table, people that were taking food from the buffet, came over and thanked me for what I did. Not once did any member of staff from Sakoni come over, no thanks, no gratitude. I did not do it for that but at times it is nice to be appreciated. Anyway, back to the food, the Dhal Bhajia came out hot but again lacked salt. We then ordered chilli paneer, it was the worst thing I have tasted. No chilli, no salt. The paneer was rubbery, probably as it comes from the same batch as the buffet food. I knew it was not fresh and ended up leaving it.Went to the counter to pay for the meal, paid and went to the Paan station and ordered two sweet paan. Please avoid these, the worst paan I have ever tatsed, went into my mouth and straight back out. At £1.50 each, aint the cheapest and certainly not the best.So that my opinion of this place, with so many veggie restaurants, I will certainly not be coming back here. I think the days of Sakoni's being one of the best has far gone.

Buffet meal for 5 of us. Hardly any customers, waited almost 20 mins for their signature dish (paneer) to come out only it was very bland. The mogo was nice and the chaats were also quite nice. The dosa looked less appealing like as they had been there since the morning. The staff were slow and seemed less enthusiastic taking orders for drinks.Ordered a masala tea which came once we had finished eating. Overall look and feel was below average as if the restaurant had not been cleaned regularly.

Went with my son who is a fan of a restaurant in Ashton under Lyne called Lily's. He told me it couldn't be bettered.2 buffets later and all the chili paneer and crispy bhajia you could eat and I think it is a close run thing. The was a very good selection of different snacks to choose from as well as rices, breads, salads, and even ice cream. I haven't eaten so much in the last 12 months as I have been dieting and I think I have set myself back a month, but it was so worth it.I used to go to Sakonis in Edgware and Wembley but this was as good as I remember and at GBP11 for all you can, it represents excellent value

Ordered a take away asked for all dishes to be mild spicy as some of our family cannot take spicy and they provide very spicy dishes instead the quality and taste has dropped completely.
