Lovely restaurant, amazing food, fantastic service.

We had a fantastic meal in this modest little restaurant tonight. The staff were so pleasant and welcoming. Generous portions and excellent flavours at very reasonable prices We will definitely return next time we visit Birmingham.

The food is some of the most authentic and rich tasting I have ever had! In addition to the concise well executed menu of dishes you might expect, there were some great twists, such as the wings, which were outstanding in every way.

Chicken balti and roti were very good. Knives and plates could have been cleaner. Good value.

This is possibly the best Indian I've ever had in a while. Every dish I tried was delicious and the spices were well balanced and not over powering.

Was not impressed with the mix grill no flavour and couldn’t even tuck in and enjoy it £16 gone to waste the people were fine but not happy with the food. The high food rating made me think it would be delicious however I was not impressed

I wish I could say I enjoyed my time here, but the service was downright awful—so bad, in fact, that it completely overshadowed the amazing food. The woman serving us ignored my drink order, and I ended up having to fetch it myself from the fridge. When our meals arrived, we sat there like fools without any cutlery until someone from the kitchen had to step in and remind her. She finally brought the cutlery pot over but slammed it down on the table with a loud thud—something I noticed happening at other tables, too. Her dismissive attitude lasted the entire meal. Even when we were clearly finished—coats on, ready to go—she still didn’t bother bringing the bill. We had to get up and ask for it ourselves. It’s a shame the service was so awful because the food itself was outstanding. If you value decent customer service, you might want to look elsewhere, or plan on doing a lot of extra legwork yourself. The food may be great, but the service here is absolutely not.

Took a 2 year old and a 4 year old here for one of their first ever curries. Purposely tried to find somewhere that wasn't 'posh' just incase they kicked off! What a find! Outstanding food. Lovely staff, ready to make the curries to our taste. Doesn't look like much from outside, but well worth taking a step inside. Superb staff! So glad we chose this place

Wholesome food,, not oily and moderately spiced. Clean and basic decor, with warm service. Nice masala chai.. Had the veg thali, Rajma, Gobi Aloo, Raita with a naan and some rice. Value for money, not expensive.

This place sells authentic Indian food without the frills of the pricier restaurants in the area. Service was excellent and they made sure I was well-taken care of without being too imposing. Incredible how this shop isn’t more popular — a hidden gem! Props to the owner for a great experience.

Tucked away off the main street a hidden gem. We both had the lamb saag and asked for medium spice but was hotter than I'd usually have but was still very tasty ( if you don't like it hot ask for mild) with great quality meat . Some confusion with the bill paid £7 for rice which we thought was an error but still came out cheaper than most other places in the area 👍 still definitely would return and recommend for a no frills curry

Had an Amazing 3 Curries tonight. The chicken was melt in the mouth tender. Authentic taste, I had a full bayleaf in my food, always a good sign it's freshly made. 100% Recommend. Very nice and helpful guys as well. Thanks again.

Simple and no fuss Great little setup with no fuss food served. The chicken jalfrezi tasted amazing, coupled with the tandoori roti. A real party for my taste buds! Definitely plan to return here soon. Cant recommend it enough. The 2 lads working here are doing a stellar job as their service is great!

This is actually a hidden gem that we have discovered . The food is so good and the service is good as well. The owner of the restaurant is very humble. I recommend everyone to visit this place and try their food. I had chicken kebab, butter chicken, garlic coriander naan and mango lassi. Everything was top notch and everything tasted amazing.

The food is very tasty. We stayed in the Jewelery Quarter for 10 days for work and came back 3 times. Although the place is nothing special, and the area seems a little abandoned, the service is very pleasant and the food even better. If you are one of those who values ​​the food more than the place, you will like this restaurant!

Best Desi food I’ve had in a while. I asked food to be cooked at a Desi level of spiciness and they definitely delivered it. We got takeaway and had our dinner after few hours of picking up. The food (incl Kulcha bread) stayed soft and fresh. The place is unassuming, but has adequate facilities and seatings. The staff and the owner are down to earth and extremely helpful. We will be visiting here again.

Sabi is one of the best value for money eateries in Birmingham. It has a good selection of North Indian (Punjabi) dishes, and everything is made with so much love. We have been eating here for over 1 year now and have taken so many of our friends and colleagues to try the food, it's brilliant. Their tiffin service is also very good, highly recommend to try it if you're a student or a single professional.

Was staying in the Jewellery Quarter for work and came here for a meal with my work colleague. I had the chicken Jalfrezi with pilau rice and garlic naan. We were the only ones sitting in there so atmosphere not great, however the food was excellent. Full of flavour, portion sizes were brilliant and service was great. It’s one of these places that the chef really knows how to bring proper Indian cuisine flavours rather than your standard Indian you find in the UK. Would really recommend!

Fantastic small restaurant next door to the burning soul brewery (you can take a beer in!). IMHO much better than the big name restaurants in the centre. The Desi Bakra (goat) is very good and there are good veg options for non meat eaters. Very friendly. Highly recommended.

Came to eat here with my girlfriend for lunch, we ordered the Chicken Jalfreezy and Butter Chicken with two Garlic Corriander Naans. The chicken in both dishes were juicy and tender. The Chicken Jalfreezy had a nice level of spice. The naan soft and fresh. To drink we had the Masala Chai which was also great. We did wait for a bit for the food but it was well worth it since the food was delicious, the people here are also kind and accommodating. Will definitely recommend this place to people who love Indian food.

Excellent good quality curries best so far beats competion. Value for money but just afew complaints ; Order for delivery and each occasion the Nan bread been dry and crusty un cheable at times yesterdays left over warmed up. Also no salad wth food which most takeaway curry house give. But good experience overall too mention. Could improve if the issues mentioned are resloved Hence the 4 stars.

Cleanliness zero. Waiting time was like more than 45 mins most of all I have ordered chicken kebabs and it didn’t taste like chicken at all it was so bad so we ask the waitress what’s in it she said she will get back to me but she never came back totally waste of time and money.

We have been looking for the best curry in Birmingham for a while and we think we finally found it! The naans were heavenly and the curries were just perfect. I kind of don't want to share this hidden gem, but these guys deserve more recognition.

This was recommend by PT, it was 5 star food but my last 3 orders have been awful. I haven’t been here for 2 months because the last order was bad but I really fancied the original Sabi’s kitchen so I thought I would try again. The chicken was dry or frozen, I can’t work out which because it was hot but so tough, everything else was bland and horrible because there’s no sauce poured over the top of the grill like they used to. I don’t understand what’s gone wrong in this place because it was best grill in Birmingham, better than the grove, soho tavern, village, new hen and chickens but now it’s the worst quality food out of all of them. If the next one is not like how you cooked when you first opened, I won’t come back!

Only got 3 stars as today ordered lamb curry more sauce hardly any lamb and very greasy! I counted around 7 small pieces esp for the price u think they would be generous have ordered b4 and portion was tasty and decent. The veg noodles my colleague ordered were tastleless I felt bad as I told her the food is usually nice maybe they have different chef? But not worth £7 normally container is full but was just half filled. Sorry...dont like leaving negative feedback but just being honest!

Excellent food, all cooked to order and at very reasonable prices. A bonus is that you can bring your beer over from the Burning Soul brewery which is just a few metres away. An enjoyable meal.

Great authentic Punjabi style food ! Went with friends and we had the samosa chaat, kulcha naan, Dahl makani and butter chicken. All of it top class! You won’t be disappointed, great to go with the family/friends to dine in or to order takeout. They also do catering.

Exceptionally tasty and good value - paid about £12 per head for starters, curry, rice and naan but a curry and bread/rice on its own would be a proper portion for under £10 for a huge portion. Good balance of meat and veggie options too so no problem finding something for everyone in a big group. Everything made fresh - naan was lovely and fluffy, chilli paneer was properly spicy with great texture and a v generous starter portion, and the moong dal which was the daily special was amazing, really rich and comforting. All that and no corkage for B&B and no trouble seating 6 of us with no reservation on a Friday night - almost unheard of when you have to book for breakfast half the time these days. If you want to treat yourself to something that really feels special but also fits a cost of living crisis budget - get down here.
